I love Sebago--- and pretty much come here every time I'm in town. Their beers are solid and I especially love their very solid IPA--- especially on a warm day sitting outside on their patio! Sebago is spacious and very family friendly, parents! The waitstaff never seem to be phased by "instant ordering" to satiate the kids appetites, and they are always all over it the second you're seated with crayons and an activity sheet to keep the lil ones occupied while they wait. Everyone can find something they like at Sebagos. Beer aside, the app menu is impressive and the portion sizes are ample! My personal fave is the hummus and tzatziki plate. Yum! I usually get their salads for an entree, but I've also dove into a sandwich or two, which have always been excellent! Great place to hit up any day of the week--- either for a drink or a meal. This place has it all to be an excellent brewpub: - Location: The brewpub is housed in an old railroad building next to the grade, which can be seen from the outside patio. We had dinner out on the patio once and another time we ate inside. - Food: Excellent selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees. There is more than just your standard selection of bar food. Remember having wings maybe and the pulled pork sandwich. - Beer: Really good beer and nice beer sampler if you have not had a chance to try any of their beer. Let's see, where do I begin to explain how much this place sucks. I've been to other locations and have had a good experience but this location was awful! We got there and it took probably 10 mins before anyone even came over. It took another 7-8 mins for our drinks to arrive (which was just water and soda) and it wasn't busy at all. We were there for a late lunch so it was pretty dead. I ordered the greek falafel salad with no feta cheese. When it arrived the server put it in front of me and said "they just put mozzarella on the edges" - what?!? I ordered it with NO CHEESE and they put cheese on it that doesn't even come that way to begin with? WTF? So I explain that I'm vegan and I didn't want cheese at all and refused to take the bowl. She was irritated and took it away. When she returned the dressing had cheese in it! So I asked for balsamic - annoyed again she took it away. I finally get a salad that seems to be close to what I ordered except the falafel was not falafel at all - it was a veggie patty! It was one of the worst salads and experiences I've had but that's not it. We also placed a to-go order when we placed our in dining order. When we asked for the check we asked when the to-go order would be ready and she responds "oh, I didn't put that in - do you still want it"? At this point, we are all pretty frustrated and say yes, we want it and asked how long it would take. She replied "15 mins or so". Not "I'll put a rush on it or I'm sorry I forgot". She couldn't have cared less. We flagged down a manager that also had a 'I don't give a sh*t attitude' and just said "what would you like me to do about it"? Outraged we just asked for our check again. Nothing was taken off, no apologies, nothing. I will NEVER go any of the locations again! read more

We decided to give a local business a try rather than a chain when we were in Portland. The beer was excellent but I wish I could say the same for the food. I ordered fish and chips with sweet potato fries and neither were very good. The fries were more like potato planks with very little taste. The fish was not fresh battered as you would expect but something like typical pre-made coated fish you'd buy at the store, bring home and toss in the oven or fryer. My wife ordered the Vietnamese noodles which were probably a big mistake. Let's face it, ordering Asian in an American restaurant is most likely always a mistake. It was a very weird concoction and nothing like any Vietnamese noodles we had ever ordered from an Asian restaurant. Bottom line is the beer was excellent, the service was good but next time we'd probably try somewhere else. read more

I've been to Sebago a few times in the Gorham area and I really can't say enough about the consistency. I've had it 10+ times in Portland, as well. For a menu, they offer quite an array of different foods from Mexican, Asian, American, Italian etc. I love the Buffalo Chicken salad and they have great tenders. I think it's difficult to screw that order up, though. The service is always great and the area is clean. The beer that they have on tap is also extremely delicious and they have a great offering of specialty drinks besides their own crafted beer. I typically get the Korean Bowl which is out of control. Great place to go to try new items and be creative with a meal. They always are consistent with their food and service. read more

Gorham seems to be moving up in the world of culinary delights. This is where the old Gorham Station used to be. A tucked away spot off the main drag but worth a swing through. Try a flight of the Sebago Brewing Company Beers and grab a sandwhich and you'll have a great lunch. I've killed a number of Sunday afternoons here over the last couple of months, waiting for my daughter to complete volleyball practice. Not quite a bar, not quite a restaurant, it's a hybrid, sort of a pub with a full kitchen and menu. My late Sunday afternoon time slot generally means it's fairly quiet, therefore service has always been prompt. For today's visit, a private party is occupying the bar area, so service has been a little off - and I now wonder whether I'd come here on a busy night, primarily because the volume in this open layout with hard fixtures and stone tile floor has increased enormously. If I lived closer, I'd be inclined to try the brunch based on the other reviews. Just the right vibe for that sort of thing. Dinner? Not so much. I've sampled the menu (Vermont Panini - excellent. White Chicken Chili? Good when served hot, which unfortunately it was not.) But let's faced it, it's a brewpubs - and the beer is excellent. Having the Full Throttle Double IPA today, appropriately bitter & hoppy. Have also sampled the Local Harvest Ale, a sweeter ale that packs quite a kick. Was visiting a friend outside Portland and needed a bite to eat. This place showed up on Yelp. Wow are we glad we stopped! We started out with two of their signature cocktails. They were big, pleasantly strong and so tasty! We shared the spacial flatbread with pear, gorganzola and brie. A-mazing! I wish I could eat it every day. I couldn't decide on an entree so asked the server for advise and got the Shrimp Quinoa bowl. It was the perfect amount of food, shrimp were tender and the sauce that covered the dish was flavorful and spicy. My friend got the pastrami sandwich. After driving by this place a few times, and having their various beers over the years, I finally was able to eat dinner here last summer. I do admit that part of the appeal of this place for me was that it was in the old B&M railroad depot, and I was pleased to see that the interior has not bee altered too much. The beers are very good here, and I especially recommend the Saddleback Ale. Thy have a good selection, and there seems to be one for most tastes. The food was also very good, and I highly recommend the smokestack burger. It was huge, and cooked perfectly. They are also very good about allowing side substitutions, which is good if you're trying to avoid fried food. Or if you want more fried food, the onion rings are really good. The dessert menu was also very tempting, and after caving to the peanut butter pie, I determined it was worth it. Bottom line, if you're anywhere near Gorham, this is probably the best brewpub you'll find, and well worth the visit. read more

Loved this little hole in the wall! Lacking in decor but not lacking in beer or flavor! The beers were great! The appetizers were even better! Huge portions and so delicious. My boyfriend and I split the honey sriracha wings and the sweet potato fries with sweet cream dipping sauce. So good! And we didn't even need to order entrees because we were so full from the appetizers. Reasonably priced and nice outdoor seating. They have a car show on some Monday nights and sold hot dogs and beer outside! Would definitely go back! read more

Drove up here with some friends to meet up with a very intellectual university professor at USM for a luncheon. Have some large booth tables for 5-10 people. Calamari with bruschetta and tomato sauce was very tasty. Each of our 5 luncheon plates are fairly decent size portions and each tastes great. My friend had the portabella salad and it looks awesome. Different waitresses stopped by periodically to check on us. A good experience. read more

My second time at sabago, first was in 2009.said I would make it back and finally did , January 2014.I won't let the years pass before visiting again. A bit pricey but well worth the visit. The beer is a must even if your not a beer drinker. The service seemed acceptable, all good things take time, so don't expect fast food service. We both had steak, was done perfectly. My wife and I go to Sebago on a regular basis. Its good quality food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Most recently we went with a group of 6 on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some cocktails before heading to our table. I had a Washington Apple Martini, my wife had a Sparkler specialty cocktail and our friend had a Starburst specialty cocktail. All of our drinks were great. The bartender was friendly and helpful. We got seated and had both panko breaded mozzarella and spinach artichoke dip with pita dippers as appetizers. Delicious and not greasy or pre-made. For dinners we had a wide variety off their menu which has a little something for everyone. My wife and I had crab cakes which were fresh and not deep fried making them flavorful and delicious. They came with a fresh avocado salad which we both liked. One couple with us had a peanut butter bacon burger and bacon mac and cheese. Both cooked well and full of flavor. All the food was well prepared and there were no complaints. Our waitress was attentive but not smothering. The manager even took a group photo of us before we left for the evening. From the dinner menu, decided on the Lobster, Bacon Mac & Cheese...what can I say but that comfort food is making it's way back in a big way and this dish did not disapoint...delicious. From the tap, a hop-heads lucky day. Sebago has a double IPA (Full Throttle) and it is delightful. Head over to The Beer Advocate for everything you'd want to know about this excellent NorPacWest style IPA. Sat at the bar and made friends quickly (on a Friday evening). Felt like "one of the gang" shortly after making polite conversation with Beth, tending bar on this enjoyable evening. For sure I'll go back next time I make it to Maine...the short drive from Portland/ South Portland is well worth it (even if there is a closer location from there...just the space makes it a fun alternative). read more

Sebago is always my go to when I'm unsure of what I want to eat. From a full meal to their $5 after ten appetizer deal you can't go wrong. The faces are always familiar and for the most part the crew is friendly. I have only had one instance where I had bad service and have not seen that waitress since. Sebago has an atmosphere perfect for anything from a first date to a family night out. In the summer you have the choice of the Patio or inside. Something's not right here. Our 2 chicken dishes were inedible. Bad, dark chunks and some all fat pieces. I had a quesadilla and my husband had what was supposed to be a shredded chicken sandwich special. Again, chunks of dark meat and fat. We noticed others with chicken dishes with the chicken pulled out. Within an hour after leaving, I became very ill. This used to be our favorite, go-to place! Either change chefs and/or get better quality food or we're never coming back. Very sad. read more

I lived in Gorham for a few years and visited Sebago at least once a week. I love this place and highly recommend it. The food is the best in town and even though it is a small town, it has great food. The lobster quesadilla, burgers, steak, etc is all awesome. The beers that have year-round are really flavorful, IPA, Brown, Red, Stout, and the seasonal beers are top-notch. Add to this a friendly staff (Chris the bartender, Brian the manager, the wait staff) and you have a fantastic local hangout. read more

Love this place, especially the Gorham location. I'm a picky eater, and it's rare for me to find more than one thing on the menu I'm excited about. At SBC, I couldn't decide! Sandwiches wound up being just OK and the sweet potato fries were too thick to get cooked all the way through, but on a second trip I had an excellent flatbread, and my husband couldn't stop talking about the lobster mac and cheese, which he ordered every time. This place was freezing cold inside and I have no idea why. Aside from that, the service was very good, but the food was only okay. My haddock sandwich was tasty but nothing special. The hefeweizen was equally bland. My wife had a salad that was missing the dressing and basil. However, the onion rings were incredible so try them. Unusual that with such a large party, she was accommodating with individual checks with a great attitude!
