They are clean and knowledgeable. The salon is huge and such a great space, with the little frenchie. They offer various drinks such as coffee, tea, carbonated water, and snacks. My hair is purple and very long, so my hair appointments take literally the entire day. Everywhere I go though, I get compliments on my hair all the time. Some people would say this salon is expensive, but to me, the quality they offer is worth it. I've been to cheaper salons and have had really bad experiences. Because my hair is high maintenance and costly, they do a great job of giving me some samples of their products. Side note, I am currently dealing with some heavy personal things at home, so having this to look forward to was a breath of fresh air. This will come into play in this review in a moment. I arrived for my appointment, Liya looked at my hair and did tell me my hair was very fine and that I had some damage at the ends. I knew these things, so it wasn't a shock. She did a cut to remove those damaged ends and then her assistant took me to wash my hair. During that wash the assistant asked me some questions about my hair because she was seeing some damage that was concerning to her. She finished the wash and took me back to the chair. Liya came back, she spoke with the assistant, and then Liya showed me the parts of my hair that the assistant was concerned about. She was very kind and apologetic, but told me that she would not feel comfortable giving me the perm with the damage they were seeing. It was more apparent now while my hair was wet. She didn't see it as much when she did the dry cut. Of course I was disappointed, but I was not upset with Liya for making this call. As a matter of fact, I was very appreciative that she was willing to be honest with me and not just take my money. Here's where my personal issues came into play. My level of disappointment combined with stress and sadness I was already feeling caused me to cry. I was trying to hold it in, but I kind of failed. Liya again apologized, I tried to explain that I was okay and I wasn't upset with her or blaming her. I told her I was grateful for her honesty. This is why I write this review. I hope that Liya reads it or at least gets the message. While I am very sad to have not been able to experience her beautiful work on my own hair, I am so thankful that she is a person of respect, integrity, and honesty. She did not charge me for the cut and the wash either. If you are looking to visit Liya at TT Salon, I highly recommend her! Very disappointed with the service I received…read more This was my first time seeing Nancy on July 14. I came in with a color correction that had already been done by another stylist, and Nancy understood the color I was trying to achieve. As you can see in one of my photos, my hair had a beautiful copper tone. When I first got out of Nancy's chair, I was concerned that the ends looked very bright and red, but I understood that the color would fade, so I decided not to voice my concerns at that time. Fast-forward to August 19. I returned for a touch-up under the impression that I would be receiving the same type of treatment and leaving with the same overall color. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As shown in my photos, my hair ended up with a very noticeable two-tone color. I immediately expressed my concerns to Nancy. I was told to allow the color to fade and was even advised to wash my hair with Dawn dish soap to help cool down the redness. From August 19 through Saturday, I continued washing my hair daily in hopes that the color would improve. Unfortunately, as you can see in the photos, there was no improvement. Today, August 26, I returned to the salon hoping the issue could finally be corrected. Nancy attempted to tone down the redness, but the result still did not meet my expectations. After that attempt, I was told that the only other way to blend the copper would be to bleach my hair. Considering I had already gone through a color correction and was now dealing with damaged and uneven color, I was absolutely not comfortable allowing more bleach to be applied. At that point, I was essentially given two choices: darken the hair or pay another stylist out of pocket to fix the issue. I was already nervous about putting additional chemicals on my hair, so I ultimately felt that my only safe option was to return to something closer to my natural roots. What made this experience even more frustrating was the amount of time this situation took. I was at the salon for approximately two hours attempting to correct an issue that should not have happened in the first place. I had my one-year-old daughter with me, was already exhausted and lacking sleep, and she ended up missing her nap because of an additional hair appointment that I never should have needed. As a client, I believe a stylist should be honest about what they can and cannot accomplish. If you know you cannot achieve the requested result without potentially compromising the client's hair, please be upfront rather than continuing with chemicals and making the situation worse. After everything, I requested a refund of at least 50% of the $145 I paid because of the time wasted, the condition of my hair, and the fact that I ultimately did not receive the service I paid for. Unfortunately, my request was denied. I was told that the owner was present during the situation, yet there still seemed to be no willingness to acknowledge that something went wrong or take responsibility for the outcome. I was also told that the color issue was related to me washing my hair, but I do not believe that explanation accounts for the extremely noticeable two-tone color shown in my photos immediately after the service. The photos speak for themselves. I am extremely disappointed because the first appointment showed that the desired color was achievable, which makes it even more frustrating that the second appointment resulted in such a different and unsatisfactory outcome. For $145, I expected much better service, communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I will not be returning. My advice to anyone considering this salon: make sure you are completely confident that the stylist understands the color you want and is capable of achieving it before allowing additional chemicals to be applied to your hair.

He answers the phone almost immediately every time I call, always texts to confirm appointments, and somehow manages to make time for me even when his schedule is completely full. This last visit meant more to me than he probably knows. I had just been laid off from my job and had an important interview the next day. I felt overwhelmed and stressed and knew I needed a haircut to feel even a little more confident going into it. Even though Leo was fully booked for days, he offered to see me two and a half hours after his normal closing time. After a long day of work, he still welcomed me with kindness, patience, and warmth and took incredible care of me without ever making me feel rushed or like an inconvenience. When I went to pay at the end of the appointment, Leo stopped me and told me he was taking care of my haircut because of what I was going through. That moment genuinely brought me to tears. In a time when I was feeling really low, his generosity and compassion meant everything to me. Leo is not only an incredibly talented stylist, but a genuinely good human being. Which is why I reached out again when I wanted to do something fun with my hair for my 40th birthday. Since this is in an outdoor shopping center, there is free parking right in front. Although I no longer live in LA, I spoke with Kristie and she was just so over the top helpful in fitting me in into Ken's busy schedule. She was already in Taiwan for additional hair training and would respond to me, going back and forth between me and Ken. And mind you, this is before Lunar New Year, when most people would get their haircut! My day started right at opening time (10am) with a haircut. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he just went with it. I will say this honestly: I've never liked my haircut this much. Why did it take me 40 years??? Anyway, we then had my hair washed and started with the first round of bleach around 11am, and then touch up. By 1pm, I decided to eat my lunch. I came prepared this time! Quick story: 9 years ago, I had no idea this type of hair procedure would take all day, and therefore did not bring lunch. Ken and Kristie fed me lunch! They are the best people, I swear. Anyway, after a rinse, we did another round of bleach with touch ups. I made it more difficult for Ken because I had dyed my hair a darker shade to cover my greys. I'm so sorry Ken! By 4pm it was no COLORING TIME! Ken started with the purple roots, then added the silver to the rest, with rounds of touching up. 5:30pm is when we did our last round of wash, then blow dry and a bit of styling. After a quick photo session, I was out by 6pm! I really appreciate them both for making this work, especially when I took up an entire day. Ken and Kristie are the best, and I will travel back to LA the next time I'd like my hair done again. Thank you SO much again Ken and Kristie!
