Had an AMAZING stay at this resort…read more The resort is pretty hidden and not easily accessible, so it very private and luxurious. When you enter through the front gates, they check every car entering to make sure they are guests. Then you drive through a pretty, scenic route to the hotel. The service was excellent from the first moment of arriving. We loved the room we stayed in, it was huge and had everything we needed. The hotel is very private so we did not have any other guests staying that close to our villa. During our stay we noticed there were not a whole lot of guests which was very nice. The ratio of workers to guests was crazy, there had to be 5-10 workers per guest. The layout of the resort is spread out so we did a lot of walking. Our villa came with a dedicated butler to our room. He helped us with anything and everything we needed. We definitely felt very spoiled! There are several pools and they are all amazing. One is a private pool for adults only. However there were only a few kids we saw the whole time we stayed here. The restaurants have amazing food. The beachfront is very pretty and there are plenty of lounge chairs to hangout at. The workers come to you on the beach to take drink orders. We had some very chill and relaxing days where we did not leave the resort but it was fun to do some of the excursions too. We loved the spa too; it was one of the best massages I've gotten. Overall, this resort is a dream and I would love to go back.

It was pure relaxation and amazing vibes all around. The property is truly stunning from the rooms, to the restaurants, the pools, the beach (our favorite), and the spa (absolutely must book something at the Spa to experience it). The excursion we booked was great and very easy to coordinate as you can book through the hotel. Truly what made this trip so special though was staff. They were absolutely amazing and all so kind. From the front to desk to wait staff to spa to bellhops. A couple special shoutouts below and I hope whoever is reading this gets to meet them: Itza: AMAZING poolside service. We loved getting to know her and she was so kind to us and remembered our orders after the first day so we would come down to the pool or back from the beach and have our drinks waiting for us. Augustino: Incredibly friendly and anticipated everything we could need. He had waters waiting for us at our chairs, drink refills just as we finished our current drinks, great food recommendations, and even better conversations. Gabby: At venazu she was our waitress on our first night and she was so fun to talk to. We chatted with her throughout the rest of our stay and is so much fun! Marco: FANTASTIC bartender at the living room bar. Was so nice chatting with him and having him make some cocktails or trying new liquors we haven't had before. Leiti & Gustavo: Both were fantastic at the front desk from check-in to check-out. We stopped by a few times throughout our stay to check on things and they were always so kind and helpful. Estella & Josue: Both helped us coordinate transportation to and from the airport and also an excursion to the marietas islands (you MUST go). Josue was so detail oriented and very easy to work with and Estella was amazing too. We will definitely be coming back again and making it a yearly trip :)

3.5 star hotel at a 4 star price!…read more W Punta de Mita is a fine hotel, tucked about 45 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta on a no traffic day, and maybe 75 minutes if there is bad weather. Two pools, one for all ages and another solely for adults. I think there were really only 4 restaurants in the entire hotel site. Chevycheria, which is a beach ceviche spot. Spice Market, which was Vietnamese. Venazu, which admittedly I didn't visit. And Rubra, which has a $200.00 tasting menu. There's also the pool food, which was perfectly adequate. If you're more of a vacationer than a traveler, then I think you'll find your stay here more than enjoyable. It is a hassle trying to get an uber to get you to the airport or to puerto vallarta, but there are also 2 or 3 other hotels in the area, so there may be drivers around. Regarding my experience, I was slightly annoyed that I didn't get a Marriot Elite upgrade to my room (the hostess said since I booked with points, that was a no-go). In reading someone else's Yelp review, they mentioned they at least got free breakfasts, which annoys me even more now since I wasn't offered that. Cleaning was spotty, as the first day the room wasn't cleaned until 6:00pm or so. The next day the room wasn't even cleaned at all. Overall, not an incredibly huge fan.

The staff for accommodating and fabulous English skills for our waiter which was extremely helpful and we had a delicious fish dinner. They change the menu up in Oil every day he saying something different every day the menu is changed to keep everything fresh and unique and variety for the hotel guests and for droppings like us... Special touches included lovely candles on everybody's table, that our fabulous waiter turned on simultaneously with a hidden clicker, which was a nice touch... You definitely can't beat the view and it had a beautiful pool, and there was some thing about the inside tiny lobby and library and sitting areas that was quite charming and adorable and very very unique... The location is north of Punta. Mita and I have a car. He would be well advise to have a car rental rather than a taxi... For us, it was a romantic stroll along the warm sand beach to walk back to her place... One interesting thing was I noticed when I was getting loose on the first floor looking for the bathroom somebody had left their hotel room totally open which to me was shocking, I would never leave my hotel room door open to other guests and visitors for fear of theft, but evidently this place instills trust!

Gorgeous, Gracious, Delicious, Perfectly Maintained Beautiful "Casita" in the most gorgeous beach (literally a few steps from the waves) in the area-service second to none! This tops every relaxing trip I have ever had-even better than Bora Bora. With a maximum of 8 beautifully appointed and sparkling clean rooms (16 guests) you will be outnumbered by staff (but never see them unless you need something they appear like magic) and will enjoy the quiet all adult environment. Yes it is all ADULT with no children which please make note of! If you don't have children or need a break from yours it is magically quiet with the exception of margarita glasses toasting and waves crashing. Even though it is "small" it is like staying at a magic castle with every detail in place including the swim up bar, tequila bar, and many different types of pool seating and cabanas. There is a library with games and tons of reading material in case you need some entertainment while you are there. This is perfect place to do nothing or enjoy the areas fine fishing/zip-lining/horses/sight seeing/golf. Literally the beach door pours you out onto perfect sand a "clean" beach and the surf is right there! Bathrooms/showers right as you return to clean up is perfectly planned out. The drinks are primo and strong, wine top notch, 3 meals a day were different and absolutely delicious everyday, the mini bar/snacks are stocked in the room, Gonzalo the chef and his helper's cuisine were so amazing we ate out once and never went out again. Each meal will be served (unless you want otherwise) sitting on the deck over looking the ocean and gorgeous sunsets. Did I mention this is an all inclusive resort ? Yes all inclusive meaning no signing, wondering how much to budget each day, tipping, pushing servers, or any worries till the end when you pay your balance and generously (because they deserve it!!!) tip the staff to the owner/manager so no awkwardness. If you have ever been at another all inclusive or cruise you will know what I am talking about. The water is purified meaning we brushed our teeth, bathed, and ate every last delish vegetable (raw) and not one person in our party ever felt anything but perfect. The grounds are beautifully maintained-I think there is a person who just goes around perfectly trimming leaves everyday! They can arrange for on-site facial/massage or truly anything else you wish. They packed up a lunch/drinks/goodies for a day of fishing and were extremely accommodating. One of my favorite parts is the three perfectly maintained, groomed, behaved, delightful small pups they have on the property. Besides their sweetness you would not even know they were there unless you seek them out! Mark the owner is top notch and has mastered the art of the perfect place to vacation! I know I am going to miss someone (sorry we loved you all) but Robert, Mauricio, Francisco, Charlie, David, (another fabulous server in the afternoon/evening who knew my Rose Vino Preference), and all of the fabulous maintenance/cleaning/kitchen crew were like family-we miss you and can't wait to return!

Our transfer dropped us off at the entrance to the resort where we were greeted by an employee who led us to the check-in desk and informed us that our bags would be sent to our room. Initially, the employee behind the desk was proceeding to book us into a room on the first floor. My wife is not a fan of the noise that generally accompanies being on the first floor, so she mentioned this to the employee who swiftly booked us a room on the second floor. The resort itself is beautiful, very spacious and has tons of seating through out. Whether you want to be in the party area of the resort or prefer a secluded area where you can relax and read a good book, there are plenty of options. For breakfast and lunch we enjoyed the myriad of food options available at the buffet; fortunately, I scored some very delicious ribs at the lunch buffet on one of the days. Unfortunately, the quantity of food options did not equate to quality and was quite inconsistent on a day to day basis. We dined at both the Mexican restaurant and steakhouse, which were both underwhelming (not sure how Mexican food in Mexico can be bad). If none of these options float your boat, there is also an Italian restaurant and hibachi. Although the lackluster food quality made it easy not to overindulge; to ensure that we weren't unrecognizable after the trip, we consistently utilized the fitness center. There were machines, free weights, and cardio equipment available to get a comprehensive workout in. If you're into spa treatments, there is a spa next door where you can pay for massages and other services. The overall customer service experience was good. However, I have to call-out and give extra kudos to one particular employee....Mayra from the Adelita Lobby Bar (one of our favorite places on the resort to enjoy a drink). From day one Mayra was very attentive and did a great job of checking in with us without hovering. One specific moment stood out to both my wife and I. Mayra overheard that we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Next thing we know, Mayra emerged from the bar area with a cute sized piece of cake with a candle and a mini balloon with a "J" on it (my wife's name is Janee). Mayra went above and beyond the call of duty to not only do this, but also memorized both of our names (which is not easy considering that we do not have traditional names). As long as we have our memories intact, we will never forget the bond that we built with Mayra. Adrian (another employee that generally works at the Adelita Lobby bar), not only makes great drinks (you can see the attention to detail that he puts towards making a drink), but is also very personable. I love when individuals take pride in their work while simultaneously being professional. Our favorite bars on the resort, were the Adelita Lobby Bar, the Sunset Bar (literally the best spot to watch the beautiful sunsets), and the La Duna bar. I would strongly recommend avoiding the swim-up bar, which serves consistently bad drinks (very unfortunate considering how convenient it is). If you're looking for a place to truly relax (if that's your goal), I recommend visiting Iberostar Playa Mita. However, I'm giving the resort three stars because management is adament about pushing a "90 minute presentation" that we declined at least four times because it felt predatory and manipulative (maybe they thought we were too inebriated to realize this).

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I came to this resort for a wedding. The resort at first glance is…read morebeautiful but the negative experience I had far surpassed the views the resort provided. I stayed in a room with one other person. Our room had THE WORST smell I've ever experienced to be honest. I wish I was exaggerating. There was a major plumbing issue that no amount of perfume or room spray could address. It became so bad, that my friend and I could not sleep in the room. When asked to be switched we were told no rooms were available. We ended up sleeping on the balcony of the room for the night just to get relief. THE BALCONY. That's how bad it was. The next day, we could not get into another room until the evening. By then the wedding had already taken place, I had net 2 hours of sleep after already having very little sleep from a long trip into PVR. There's nothing like having no rest on what you hoped to be a vacation. I was an absolute zombie for my dear friend's wedding. I went searching for public showers to get ready because I couldn't shower in my own room, and when asked how they would address it, they sent housekeeping to come spray bleach everywhere in site. Other guests told us of smell issues in their room. None as severe as ours but persistent nonetheless. Housekeeping came and sprayed bleach and left them as well. I truthfully deserve some partial refund but in an effort to be gracious I just asked them if they could compensate us with a massage... they refused that and offered access to their jacuzzi instead. The jacuzzi runs from 10am to 6pm -- during the hottest hours of the day. So the moment it became useful to actually go, they were closing down. I'll be honest, jacuzzi access doesn't feel like a gesture that is invested in rectifying the situation, but rather pacifying the situation. I slept on a balcony! I've never had such a terrible experience anywhere. My friend and I tried to make the best of a really terrible situation, spent valuable time we could have spent resting talking with staff and moving between rooms when not engaged in wedding activities, dealing with a room that smelled terrible and then smelled like overwhelming bleach on TOP of the odor, and then were offered access to their jacuzzi instead. To make matters worse when changing rooms, they told us that they could either offer us a room that smelled slightly better on the same floor or their suite (which was in great condition). Of course we wanted the suite but then they said we had to pay.... WE HAVE TO PAY TO FIX A PROBLEM YOU CAUSED?! But it gets better. We obviously decide to not pay more money and take the less appealing room. The next day we find out that another pair of folks had an issue with their room. Far less dramatic - but they were given the suite entirely for free! Mind you, my friend and I are black women and the couple is white. While I would love to say that race is not an issue, we were consistently ignored by wait staff, dismissed when raising issues, and when I brought this discrepancy forward the wait staff rolled their eyes and redirected me to management. My other friends (who were also Black) had a separate issue where they were assigned the wrong room and ended up settling into a room where other guests were also assigned. Imagine being two black guys unpacking your things and then two white women walk in saying you're in their room?! It could have gone soooo wrong. There's been disorganization, very little done to rectify the issues caused, and a lot of time wasted on trying to get settled instead of relaxing and enjoying the trip. I'm thoroughly exhausted as I prepare to leave tomorrow. I'm truly disappointed.
