Visiting Section Wines was one of the most unique and cool experiences I've ever had in Wine Country. I was part of a tour and got to actually meet the wine maker, Marco, and his business partner. They were extremely nice, welcome, but above all, passionate about wine. It was also immediately clear that Marco and his business partner are artists. I have zero doubt that they would sacrifice their own financial well-being if it meant putting out a superior product. And, it showed, down to the labeling on the bottle, everything has meaning. This was the last stop for our group of eight after a long day of wine tasting. We were suffering a bit from palate fatigue, but the moment we got out of our vehicle and were greeted by Marco, we knew we were in for a unique experience. Marco is so personable and passionate about his wines, and it was clear that his staff feel the same way. We were escorted around the grounds as Marco explained about the wine cooperative in which they operate. After a brief tour, we ended up in the tasting room which was a delightfully inviting space filled with beautiful, locally created art, where we got to try five delicious Italian-style wines. Marco and sommelier Alex are so knowledgeable about wine, and their enthusiasm was infectious. Our group, which was otherwise exhausted from a long day of tasting, couldn't help but perk up for this memorable finale. We first met Marco on a wine tour when celebrating our engagement. The wines were amazing!!!!! We immediately joined the wine club and are happily in possession of our 1st 12 bottles. The venue is super cool, as it is unexpected and kind of a "hidden gem". The highlight is Marco himself. If you can find this tasting room you've hit gold! We were walking back to our car after a day checking out Solvang when we saw the 2 for 1 tasting sign on the corner of the street. If the tasting deal doesn't hook you the wine should because it was some of the best wine we had all weekend and we stayed in Santa Barbara! They don't have a large selection of wines being a boutique winery but what they do have has been perfectly curated. This place is relatively new, and kind of hidden, but it's worth the search. Passionate owner and winemaker did the tasting for me, and I gotta say the quality is high. The "il bianco", the first white on the tasting list, has the most amazing nose. Floral, but with a background of tropical fruit. I could have just sit there smelling it all day, but the taste compelled me to finish the glass. The rose was nice and refreshing, 93 Grenache and 7 Sarah. "Chieftan Lots", their super Tuscan blend, is made (As is the rest) by a genuine Italian from an Italian wine family, Marco Lucchesi. Amazing with the pizza that I had from next door at Toscana. The Bordeaux blend, "il buttero", kinda blew my mind. Amazing oak influenced nose, nice soft warm tannins. I'm taking home a few bottles as I write this review. read more

The sun was setting on the Castello and Ave Maria was playing on the church bells in the distance.
