I sent it that day. I followed up on August 19 and September 2. As of today, September 5, there has been no payment and no response since August 4. The amount is 94 dollars and 33 cents, the documented purchase price. The service works as advertised getting your bags from the port to the airport, but there is no guarantee they arrive in the same condition, and bags wait outside at the curb in the open air. Someone is generally out there keeping watch, but the sheer number of bags at busy times means they're not closely monitored. Photograph your bags before you hand them off. Get travel insurance before you use a service like this, because if something goes wrong, there is no real path to get made whole.

Well, we are a captive audience. Security is a breeze especially if you have TSA or Clear. The restrooms are very clean even during the busiest times. The ride share area is across the street from baggage claim and is well organized.

Upon arrival the lobby was dimly lit and dingy; the elevators were slower and old. When the elevator doors opened to the 4th floor after checking in, there was a distinct smell of musty carpet and foul air. Upon entering the room we were hit with a stifling lack of fresh air and moldy smell. The carpets are old and the room appeared dated. As a licensed home inspector I was able to distinguish a mold like smell coming from cooling registers. We we went back downstairs to ask the front desk attendant if we could be moved to a different room, or the odor could be resolved. He immediately requested an additional employee to bring an ozone machine into our room. His quick response to our complaint indicates we were not the first guests to encounter this issue. This machine was described to "sterilize everything in there." The machine ran for almost 10 minutes in the room. After reentering the room, the machine had not resolved the smell. At this point, we decided this hotel was not for us. When we approached the front desk attendant, he did not seem surprised by our decision to leave nor was he apologetic in offering us an alternative or refund. The whole experience put a damper on our great day in New Orleans, but we are truly happy that we decided to switch to a cleaner/newer hotel. This is definitely a boutique hotel with a slightly edgy vibe and no elevator so pack light. The rooms are on the small side, but also still very accommodating. It feels like France or New York. It's enchanting. The staff is accommodating, sensitive, thoughtful, helpful, and overall wonderful. A special shout out to the manager, Mitchell ... who went above and beyond for us. The other manager is also exceptionally kind and we really loved her. I loved being greeted late at night after our Frenchman Street fun, by the night manager, who was absolutely delightful and I would also say a "alligator expert." The night staff is very attentive as well. We felt safe and comfortable. The shower-head in the bathroom is placed up high, for tall people, and is phenomenal and I wasn't expecting such a glorious shower. I love how the shutters create a complete blackout so you can sleep in. The mattress was phenomenal and housekeeping did an extraordinary job too. It's a very clean place. The pool is the perfect temperature... Even though it's small, it's charming and refreshing. My favorite thing about the pool is definitely the homemade piña colada's that are made with a unique twist... Absolutely delicious but if you have more than two, you might fall flat on your face. They should come with a warning label, because they are very strong ha ha ha.! I thought the food here was also really exceptional... They were completely different experiences and both were fine but Lamothe House was way more memorable and beautiful. The Hilton is more controlled and sterile, and it's comfortable but lacking in character, while Lamothe is more organic. Even though I stayed in a regular room at Lamothe (no period furniture), every little walk through the hotel - the courtyard, the pool, the popcorn machine in the hallway, all felt special. The pool is lovely and kept very clean, by the way, and the plants are delightful. Sure, you may encounter a creepy-crawly in your room (or in my case, the shower) but that's because it's not a hermetically-sealed tomb - it's a historical building in tune with beautiful plant life. A lot of people discuss the location, online, but it felt perfect for me as a base for exploring the French Quarter, Marigny, and Tremé. The area around Lamothe also felt safer to me than the Hilton (and more charming) although I didn't have any trouble in either place. Esplanade Avenue is a lovely spacious street. Tip: chill down your room before bed using the a/c and then switch to the fan for the night. I'm also rating Lamothe House 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * It's a historical building (from 1839) that's beautifully preserved for a good purpose. * Ceiling fans help people to avoiding running the air conditioner all night. * Some items provided for guests were thoughtful and conscious. FSC-certified toilet paper! Some of the coffee was certified organic and fair trade. I really liked the free popcorn every evening! A sustainable snack provided in paper bags - what's better than popcorn? * Room for improvement: provide ceramic mugs for coffee and condiments in paper (good brown sugar, wooden stir sticks).
