Very easy to rent and secure a unit. The manager was very helpful. The Tacoma location is clean and secure.

I recently wrote an honest review after the place sent me an email with a request for me to write a review for them. I am very honest and fair and never just write a review that is 5 stars or 1 star because I am emotionally charged or anything. My hope is someone will see my review and have an honest view of what to expect. 2 days after my review of this facility the manager woman I have never seen before handed me an envelope with a smile on her face and said my lease is being terminated and I have till the first to get out. She said I had multiple violations accessing the property after closing where my gate code was used. I told her that was impossible because I am very vigilant about abiding by all the rules and I promised her there is nobody who can show a single piece of evidence backing that claim. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager; so I asked to speak to someone above her and she said that I was not allowed to speak to anyone above her but she would let them know I would like to speak to them, but not to get my hopes up because these decisions are almost never reversed. I said this feels very much like I'm being discriminated against and that I'm disabled and the unit is very important to me. I repeated that I never broke the rule and nobody ever mentioned me violating a rule to allow me to make sure I never did it again and she said I was seen in the parking lot past 10pm and that is considered a violation. Me making a phone call after leaving my storage before I drove to my next destination is the claim after she realized I never accessed the gate with my code after hours and that was a bogus claim. I cannot believe I am being kicked out because I didn't give them a 5 stars review. This is the most childish behavior and to smile in someone's face when you know you are making a decision that is going to make a persons life extremely difficult is so messed up. How someone can enjoy that moment is disturbing. I used to be a Forman working up on the light rail and even when I had to fire someone who definitely deserved it, I felt terrible delivering that news because I was causing unknown hardship for him. This woman looked like it's her favorite thing to do. Save your money and energy and go to a nicer place with a better staff. These people were the worst, and their units were horrible too. I suggest going to pearl street self storage if it's convenient for you. Thank people are very nice and the units are the best I've ever seen. Love to raise prices - current price for new customer is advertised at around two hundred twenty / month for a 10x20 - would love to pay that much, but they have raised prices 4 times on us in the last few years and we are now over five hundred/month. We had a glitch in the credit card and it took them 18 days to send a letter to let us know ... and we were in the facility talking to them twice to get things settled and no one said we were overdue - which adds $100 to the bill btw. read more

I don know what it is about the employees at storage facilities but they were super helpful on day 1 and then they switch it up after you are in. I originally got a 10x15 storage because that's what I had at Public Storage (who are the ABSOLUTE worst to deal with), but as soon as I saw the 10x15 here I knew there was no way it was actually those dimension. So I measured the unit and I was right, it was off my many feet. not only that but the unit sat at a low point on the property and the rain water was just rushing into my uni. I asked about the size and was told those are the outside dimensions of the uni. I explained how the outside dimensions are not useful to any of their customers and asked for the next size up. The helpful woman who worked here that day was let go and she was really the most helpful person here. I started getting notifications that my account was past due and when I called they said not to worry because it was something they did when changing my unit and that the still needed to credit my account for the discount I had come there for which was half off first 2 months and when I showed up the day before I had court to get my nice clothes there was another lock on my unit because of the past due amount they said wouldn't be a problem. to this day I am yet to receive the credit to my account for the move in sale and the new staff isn't as helpful read more

They raised my rent $100 out of no where and also kept saying I was past due mind you I've always had it on auto pay never had an issue until I tell them I want to move out. I would have stayed had the rent stayed the same but $100 increase in 6 months is crazy read more

I would strongly recommend you avoid this Storage company like the plague, literally. I had two units for nearly 8 years. The contents of one of the units was completely destroyed by rats. They nested in and chewed through sofas and mattresses. There was urine and feces EVERYWHERE. There was even a dead rat laying on top of the dining room table. When I filed a claim, it only covers $500 if there is rodent damage. Getting help having the claim processed has been a dead end. They are not helpful!!! Meanwhile, I see other people who also have rental spaces there complaining about the same issue with rats living in their units. It's evident in all the rat traps you see around the property, but also obviously not solving the problems. If I could give negative stars I would. Run! read more

After my 3rd month of "lease/renting" here I received an email saying how my bill would now be 100+$ more a month the following month. absolutely ridiculous and it's obvious why it's reaching summer time so they want extra $$ which is ridiculous when I already pay 200$ a month. I now have to rush in finding a new unit and be able to move my things on my 1 day off. i don't recommend renting here now that this has occurred. read more

Don't store your belongings here or anywhere" Rebbeka K" is managing property. This is a high crime theft area. My storage unit was broken into. They moved me to another storage unit because the one I was in was unsecured. While moving to the other unit I witnessed multiple police reports on site. My belongings were also stolen while I was moving between storage units by another tenant. I reported the incident to "securespace self storage" and no response. I reported to the onsite employee and no response. I reported to the manager "Rebecca K" in person and she finally reviewed video and confirmed the person I accused of stealing my property. She called me at 5:08pm and stated that her thief tenant returned my property but left it in the storage area and that I needed to come and retrieve my belongings before someone else stole them, and if so she wouldn't be able to help find who stole my property again. She also stated that she had to work late due to fire alarm troubles and that she would be there to wait for me. I arrived at 6:09 pm and drove to the area "Rebecca K" said my belongings were. They were not there. While I was circuling back to exit, she waved me back to her office telling me she has my belongings. Keep in mind I was over an hour out to retrieve my belongings. I stopped by my new unit due to the previous break in for less than 5 minutes to make room for the belongings I was to retrieve, and when I knocked on the door, Rebecca K had already left her position. I spent 2 1/2 hours to retrieve my belongings that I still don't have. After all my grief with my losses, I thought Securespace self storage and the new manager "Rebecca K" would spend a few more minutes after their shift to make at least one thing negative there a positive.
