The first lady that set me up, let me know what mileage was and the different cost of insurance and made sure I understood that sweeping it out would help save a fee. Returning it, they were very busy but once it was my turn, I was helped out. He was excellent. They were very patient with me as I needed to park my vehicle in the lot. It was being worked on next-door. I figured I'd have some minor tuneups done to it while I was moving. You guys were great when I was transferring personal property out your vehicle into mine. Well I've had a storage unit here I've paid for the last three years and haven't even touched it I think it's started off at like 120 a month and it's gone up to 165 the price is not even comparable to what else is out there way better options same price three times larger plus there's no lighting in my unit and it's not air-conditioned or have any heating system they have done remodels the last three years and when I went inside everything was covered with their dust and mess. No that's for management haven't had the best experience with him I don't even think he's ever returned my calls when I had a problem I had to go straight to corporate as for the regular employees that work here great people super friendly very kind hearted as far as management not the general manager but the manager Amanda. Then when I finally was helped I tried to use the debit card I made the reservation with and they told me I couldn't use a debit card only credit. Didn't have my rental. It happens. I understand these things happen. Not upset about that. But, when I brought up the $50 guarantee, I was told they will not honor it unless I book another rental. That is NOT what the website says. "Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation." I wasted money to pay for an Uber to get to U-Haul. So, this adventure cost me $20 and I have nothing to show for it. I know U-Haul is about the only game in town. Not friendly and rude staff. They promised my daughter to load the pod on a trailer so we could take it home to load, with the manager even saying if she had a truck he would do it right then and there, but since she didn't at that time he said she could pick up the trailer the next day. He did not say anything about having to have 24 hours to schedule the pickup. The next day we call in the morning and are told we could come down anytime and pick it up. Then when we get there 30 minutes later, they say we didn't schedule it so they were not going to do it. The girl was even making snotty comments and being very rude. They give you little time( days) to load their pods with limited access times (hours per day). The manager even lied about what he told her. If he had time to load it the day before with no notice then why couldn't he do it the next day? Makes no sense. They do not have customer service in mind. I do not recommend them at all. read more

Great service! I needed to haul a trailer with my '98 Subaru Forester and the wiring for the lights and turn signals was not working at first. Dempsey patiently helped me out by troubleshooting the issue with me and replacing the connector part for the wiring. His diligence and transparency was very much appreciated since we basically would have been screwed otherwise after making a 2.5 hr drive in order to empty my storage unit and haul all of it to my new home in another state. Instead of a situation where I'd have to rent a whole other truck or drive all the way back home without accomplishing anything, the problem was fixed thanks to the service I received. read more

They changed my pickup location without notifying me. Then when I called to see what happened, I was told there was a note on my account saying that they spoke to me on the phone about it- it was a lie, I had received no calls. The place they moved it to was much closer to home, I definitely would have remembered if it were moved. Hold times for the customer service line are insanely long, nobody answers the phone. Out of desperation I tried the online chat feature, and when I explained my situation, the woman replied that the note says I did in fact speak to someone, even after I mentioned to her that it didn't happen. I replied that it was a lie, and she ended the chat on me. I called to change my reservation date because I need this truck, but was told it was cancelled entirely without my knowledge. Horrible experience! I purchased a flatbed truck that broke down eight miles from the dealer. Uhaul refused to make repairs under the implied warranty law of Washington State saying that they had given me an AS IS disclosure so it was exempt. I never received that disclosure, but even if I did, the law specifically states that such a disclosure is not sufficient to waive the implied warranty law which requires a dealer to take care of serious problems that were not apparent when the vehicle was purchased. The wires to the starter were frayed, and there were other electrical issues. The salesperson also tried to sell me a 2005 truck that was missing a catalytic converter and was illegal to drive on the road. If uhaul wants to maintain a good reputation, then they should sell trucks in better condition, and stand behind their sales. read more

One of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. I reserved a truck a week in advance only to find out the prior renter did not return it on schedule-not available. That apparently was my problem the morning of pick up! They would not even give me the truck that was In stock reserved for another client that HAD NOT EVEN SHOWED UP! So I'm the only customer that followed the rules for pick and delivery and the last one to be taken care of. To top it off the manager looked at me and would not address me and my concerns. UHaul in Parkland are the rudest people ever! Manager Larry, Is the least helpful person. I wanted to pick up the truck in Lakewood which would make it less mileage for me. I was told by them to go to parkland store but could still return it to the Lakewood store with no penalty. Ha ha ha. Fat chance. After I returned the truck a day early I not only got charged for the extra mileage driving it from parkland but I did not get my 30 mile credit because they said it was all explained in the contract!!! Now if anyone can actually read this contract please let me know. Maybe you have "spidie eyes". Oh and I got the joy of being told by Larry that he did not have to listen to me being rude (note: I never used foul or abusive language) and Larry promptly hung up on me. I called him back and I asked for his name. And yes I did question the validity of his answer when he claimed his name was Brown, Larry Brown. Seemed too generic to me. He then proceeded to hang up on me again. Yes I called the corporate office.......after I calmed down. She said there was a note on my account that I would be calling fo a discount. After explaining my experience I told her I did not want a discount. That it was no longer about the money but about customer service. The folks here are great. They work in a difficult area (Parkland) and deal with a lot of theft of equipment but they still do what they can with what they got, either through knowledge or physical rentals as well as propane. I've watched people come into the store hella rude about something that happened elsewhere and afterwords they still carry on to next customer with a smile on their face. They deal with a lot of negativity and deserve some earned credit. I enjoy this location, no matter the ups & downs. read more

Ok, if I could give a negative star to the you box for U-Haul I would. It has been nothing but a mess and the agreement that when you initially sign up with is not honored. I was promised my shoe box will be delivered on April 27th and it was not here until May 1st. I kept calling and got transferred start several times two different agents. The agent named Helen in the Tacoma area was rude and did not understand what I was trying to explain to her. She hung up on me and did not call me back. If I'm paying almost $2,000 to have something delivered I expect that kind of service and if you can't provide that then give me my money back. The only reason I'm rating with a star is because I have to. I showed up to rent my storage unit. I was 3 minutes late. I just moved up here from Oregon, had been I since 6 am the previous morning. The guy standing out front completely ignored us. Beyond rude he said "sorry we're closed I can't help you." I asked him if there was any possible way to just get the storage unit rented really fast so I could return the uhaul truck down the street. Wouldn't do anything to help because he had to do so much to be able to get the storage unit rented to us. I was late yes, but friendly service gets you a long ways. And after I get my month free storage unit I will be moving somewhere else. And I will never use uhaul again. I had to keep the truck an extra night because they wouldn't do anything to help us. So on top of being stressed, and too tired...I now have to pay a ton more money for a uhaul I didn't need an extra night. They are rude and I will never use uhaul services again. read more

I went to rent a truck, and after filling out paperwork and having the clerk run my credit card for $75, he not-so-kindly tells me that I can't leave my car there. He saw that I was by myself. I wish he would have said that BEFORE he took my money. Since I can't drive a car AND a truck by myself, and there was no one I could call to help me, I asked him to cancel the transaction, I would go elsewhere, and for him to refund my money. He says he refunded my money, but here we are, two days later, and I still don't have it. I went to a different UHaul, and what do you know, it's ok if I leave my car there! Had appointment to have them install a trailer hitch at 2pm. I showed at 1:40, stood in line for the 20min then sat in the lobby for over 2 hours on the most disgusting chairs. Co-workers were screaming at each other (yes screaming) about how each other wasn't doing their job and one even came over and complained to me about how awful their customers are!!!! When I went back to check (I was told it would take an hour to an hour and a half more) he had the brake pedal rod (filthy with sharp edges) wedged against the leather seat. He was beyond greasy and clearly unfamiliar with newer vehicles (stated that several times). They were understaffed and poorly managed. Since I had never re filled a propane tank before I made the mistake of bringing it inside the store and he chewed me up for that. There's no excuse to treat your customers that way. When I asked him why he was in such a bad mood he said, in a very rude demeanor, "I'm not in a bad mood" so I asked him "Then this is how you always treat your customers?" all he said to me was, "if you think I'm being rude you can take your business somewhere else", and he just walked away. What kind of attitude is that for a place that offers customer service? This place has horrible customer service skills. If you are getting a hitch installed, then this is the place! I had another location completely screw up the install (a bolt missing, one halfway out, and it rattled against my muffler). Needless to say, I was not pleased to be sent to another location to have it done right. These guys were helpful, prompt, and fixed me up completely. I've used Parkland Uhaul several times for rentals and hitch installs. They did a great job for a reasonable price installing a hitch on my '12 Hyundai Sonata -- a rather unusual install. A couple of months later I had a wiring problem on my antiquated trailer so I swung by Uhaul without an appointment to see if they could figure it out. Justin pinpointed the problem immediately, and I was on my way in about ten minutes. I've read the other reviews, but my experience has always been great at this place. read more

literally just called for nothing more than an inquiry and the women on the phone was VERY rude for absolutely no reason... Called about a van, they advertise 19.95$ or whatever so I thought hey! there ya go! called and asked about it and the women gave me the 19$ price PLUS a 70(something) cent per mile charge, I ask if I could get a rough estimate for my total cost and she then tells me it would be $60.. obviously I didn't want to reserve it so I told her we were going to pass, she then gave me extreme attitude saying "well you ask for miles" .. now what the actual hell was that for?! it is way easier to be pleasant than just be completely rude for no reason at all. so disappointing.. read more
