One thing that drew me to this company was that I saw the owner replying to reviews on yelp. They really want to work for those 5 stars. So, here I am doing my part to leave a review. I just needed a few cameras to watch over my family and Halloween decorations. I wasn't sure what company to go with. So, I shopped around a bit. After looking over some of the options in my area, I felt like Securimax was my best bet. They seemed very customer focused and their website had a lot of information to get me started. Here's a little summary of my experience with them: 1. Sales: My salesperson was Shelby. A lot of sales people can be pushy and kind of scammy, but Shelby wasn't at all like that. She was very forthcoming and I felt comfortable buying from her. In fact, she was such a pleasure to work with that I invited her to my Halloween social. She arrived as promised and was quite a star at the event! 2. Installation: The installation tech seemed a little irritable at times, but he knew his stuff and got the job done. I was pleased with the quality of the work and the time in which it was completed. However, I am waiting on a part to arrive to finish up my install. 3. Support: Front office support has been great. Communication is clear and effective. They've been easy to work with getting issues resolved. 4. Financing: I spotted an issue that would have costed me quite a bit of money in the financing. However, resolution with the front office was easy and painless. It ended up working out in my favor, and I'm very appreciate of the care and consideration given to me. 5. Cameras: The cameras and mobile application are good, but I wouldn't say they are great. I feel like the price point is very steep for the picture quality and services. Still, I wish I would have shelled out for a higher quality camera, at least in my front yard. We also have an issue getting audio to play through our living room camera that is being looked into. Overall, my complaints are small and I feel like in this industry, you could do way worse than Securimax. I'd do business with them again for sure. Despite the minor troubles here and there, I will still give 5 stars because of Shelby. read more

We just moved in to a new house in San Marcos last month. Marshall the Securimax sales rep. came by one day and explained the company background and their services. There was absolutely no pressure to make a decision. I put it on the back burner for a couple of weeks until he saw me in the front yard and stopped. He came inside and explained again his services to the rest of my family. Again, he did not put any pressure on us to buy right then.We decided that Securimax would be right for us. Marshall explained which windows and doors should have sensors and which ones we wouldn't need. He explained how the doorbell camera could be a benefit especially when we are away from home or upstairs in our home. The installer arrived on time as scheduled. He again explained how to operate everything and even downloaded the app for our phones. We are really pleased with the system and would highly recommend this service to anyone needing home security. Additional Note: 1 week after the install we had a malfunctioning smoke detector (which I later found out) Well I mistakenly thought it was a problem with the security alarm system. I called Securimax and told them it was their product causing the alarm and was very upset. They walked me through how to disconnect the alarm system. The smoke and fire detectors were still going off so they told me it could not be the security alarms which were causing the problem. ( It was NOT a Securimax problem) I called the electrician who replaced the defective smoke detector. Even though it was not Securimax who caused my problem, they still came out and checked the alarm system again and reset it back to normal.. i apologized to their office manager and to the installer for my inaccurate assumption. I dealt directly with the owner, Jack Grimm and can't say enough about how impressed I am with him and his company. I originally was scheduled to go with another security company but Jack offered a better deal. Monthly subscription was similar but Jack had a better system as well as threw in window sensors for all the windows on the back of the property for free. Jack's system also has options for future expandibility like remote lighting control and remote thermostat control. Jack was also very knowledgeable an able to answer any questions I had. The installer came to install the system the same day I signed up for service. He was very prompt and able to answer all questions/fulfill all requests I had. Once he finished installing the system, he walked me through setting up the PIN as well as setting up access to the website and mobile app to control the system remotely. The reason I'm so impressed with Jack is his commitment to customer service. When Jack first came over, he told me about how he'd started his own company because the company he was at before didn't care about the customer. Honestly, I kind of thought this was all just lip service, trying to impress me and get me to sign up. Everyone talks about how the customer always comes first but we all know that when it comes right down to it, it really isn't all about the customer and is really just about profits. Since the system was installed, I've had some dealings with Jack where he proved to me that he wasn't just trying to sell me on something but really meant it. After years with ADT I was eager to find a security company that could be more responsive and available. I had malfunctioning equipment and was frustrated with the barriers to getting the problems addressed within the ADT system. I was working with an Insurance agent who highly recommended Jack with Securimax. Jack was immediately responsive, well-informed, patient with my questions, and provided all the information I needed without pressure to make my decision. I happily changed over to Securimax and love the new equipment and the ease of use. Matt came over to install the equipment and was on time and thoughtful as he evidenced clear expertise in getting everything installed. I was so happy with the system and how it was working, I added more cameras and a fire alert. Yamil came over and installed it all expertly. He was efficient and knowledgeable and again answered all questions with patience and solid information. Since the installation, I have had various questions and Jack and Amber are immediately responsive and consistently wonderful. I could not be happier with this company and their service. In fact, I am buying a second property and have already scheduled Securimax to set up everything there passing up incentives the builder had to go with ADT. I would rate them a ZERO if I could. The Owner/president was unhappy about getting tossed from my neighborhood because it is no soliciting allowed. Whether he was just showing off or basically out of control, he threatened me with his "Castle Law" premise and reached for his pocket as if he was about to pull out a handgun. I asked if he was packing a pistol and he said "yes, and I am licensed to carry it". Well...the police do not agree with his method and will be talking with him later today. I definitely do not want his protection....if anything, I need protection FROM him. I don't know (nor care) if he is a bully and/or a blowhard...I know he is reckless (at least with his words). - I don't know if he really had a gun or just said it to impress his employee on how to be tough on HOA residents who do not want solicitors invading their space (there is a sign)....I know that I do not want solicitors in my neighborhood knocking on doors and sizing up the environment for later break ins. He, of all people, should know this (Security duh!). Perhaps it is his style to create a problem and then also be the solution (protection tax). Security goes way beyond technology and with this guy at the helm, I recommend that soon enough, this will be a sinking ship. read more

My wife and I are happy repeat SecriMax customers starting our second 3-year contract with a new system in our new house. Jack met with us on a Saturday to look at our existing equipment and helped us select the new equipment we wanted to get the video doorbell, Z-wave lock , Z-wave light switches and garage door integration with the alarm. It is really nice to have this all working together and managed from the Alarm.com web and phone apps. (I expect to add Amazon echo Alarm.com support pretty soon as well.) I priced the alarm and these accessories on my own and their component costs were very competitive. Given the insurance discount that partly offsets the monthly monitoring cost, I think it was absolutely worth buying it all from them and signing-up for 3 years to get the installation and monitoring. Steven installed both the new system and our old one like a pro, got everything working quickly and then explained how it worked. I am looking forward to adding more home automation hardware with the thermostat and Z-wave lights. I don't expect to need them very often, but it is nice to have a local dealer with hardware expertise that I can call to come out to check/fix things if the need arises. Marshall and Ron from Securimax were in our neighborhood and stopped by to go over their services and pricing details. I was impressed by their authenticity, knowledge, and belief in their product. They also understood that we had JUST closed and were on a tight budget, so they didn't try to push additional services on us. We are new homeowners, so we have not had any experience with home security systems. We had an appointment scheduled with ADT to go over their services and various plans, but I was turned off by how much pressure they put on us and the emphasis on the "special pricing." If it was anything like we've experienced with our cable company, that "special" price would only last until the end of the year and we would eventually have to shop around again for a better rate or sit on the phone for hours until they finally buckled and lowered their price. Thank goodness Securimax stepped in because we had lost faith that we would find a trustworthy company to secure our home. The fact that Securimax is local, transparent with their business practices, provides a locked rate, and are readily available should we have any service issues were major selling points. We're happy with our service and are already recommending it to friends. read more

I love my security system from Securimax! I had them install a system at my business. I told Jack what I needed the system to do and he gave me a system that does everything I asked for and more. I really like the fact that I can control the system and my door locks remotely from my phone and that I get an email when the system has been armed/disarmed. Since I have multiple employees that go in and out of my business, having these features has been truly a life saver. I can be away from my business and not have to worry about anything, just go on the app or my email to find out who's been in and out, if the door has been opened/closed, what time and by who, if the door is locked or not and if system is armed or not. I really am happy with the system, we had a little bit of an issue getting the front door lock to work properly at first but Jack replaced the lock with a better one and kept sending his installer back to fix the issue until everything was resolved. All in all I'm happy with the system and would definitely recommend Securimax to anyone looking for a great system from a great local company. Jack met me at my newly closed on home. I didn't even have electricity set up yet and that didn't deter him from still giving me the best assessment from a security company I have ever received, he simply grabbed a flashlight and we walked the house. He listened to what I wanted and worked with me. He was so kind and I felt safe with him in my home. When you work with this company you can tell you aren't just another house but you are becoming a part of a hometown family. Jack was able to get me an amazing deal and he even pointed out where the wires would go and went into detail about the system that would be installed. By the end of our visit I didn't feel like I had been pressured to agree, like most big companies do. I love that Jack and his company are local so if there is ever a problem they would be quick to respond. Also, talk about communication. 12/14/18 We have had our system for awhile now and love it! Not only is the system great but so is the customer service! I called yesterday to check the status of something in the mail. Turns out it was lost or delivered to the wrong address. Today I get a knock on my door and it's Jack the owner who is hand delivering our lost mail. Talk about going above and beyond! Can't saying enough good things about this company! About a month ago mine and my husband husbands cars were broken into. Then a few weeks later a home down the street had an attempted to break in. This was all very shocking since we live in a very safe neighborhood. Securimax is incredible. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. We recently moved into a new house and needed an alarm system installed. I procrastinated on finding an alarm company until shortly before we were going out of town for a long trip. I called Securimax, and they arrived the next day for a walkthrough and made a recommendation for an alarm system that would work for our house. Then they managed to shift some existing work around to get the entire system installed two days after the walkthrough and just in time for us to have the system ready before we left. Jack and his entire team were excellent. They were practical in making recommendations about what would be a useful system for our house without trying to upsell us on unnecessary services. They were communicative throughout the process and transparent about the costs. Xavier, the technician, was terrific and showed us how to use everything. We just started service with SecuriMax about a week ago. From the initial appointment with David, to the technician Pete showing up, everything went great. David who came out to the house for our appointment was wonderful. He was very honest and knowledgeable about the alarm system and security in general. He didn't push anything on us rather asked us what our needs and concerns were. Pete who came out for installation was great as well. He reconfigured everything that the previous alarm company had done wrong. He stayed until the job was done. Customer Satisfaction is a big thing for them, and it shows. I love that they are local and just a phone call away. The alarm keypad itself is a touch keypad and is much nicer than what we previously had. The App that you use is very user friendly along with the actual keypad. I love that you can always add things to the system later. I've been a Vivant customer for almost 2 years. But I'm sick and tired of my cameras always loosing connection. I couldn't even use my front door lock because the connection was constantly going out. Calling Securimax was by far the best choice I've made in security. Their representative named Tyler came out the very same day and was extremely professional! He made me feel at ease and helped me go over my current system. Tyler took the time to explain and make recommendations. This made everything simple and much easier for me. He didn't try and sneak his way in by misrepresenting his intentions like some "water testers" had, he was up front and honest about who he was and what he was offering. When we invited him in, he didn't give us a sales pitch, we had a conversation about what we wanted, expected. He was extremely courteous, and spent the time getting to know us so that he could recommend services that actually fit us.
