We've been using Central Security since 2016 at both our current home and previous house and are 100% happy with the service. The equipment costs were reasonable and the installation was free. There is no contract. The monthly charges are less than the national home security firms and have not increased since 2016. But the best part of Central Security is Jay. He is professional, courteous, competent, and responds quickly to questions, typically within 1-2 hours. When we occasionally see a trouble light on the system panel, Jay usually can talk us through a solution, without the need for a service call. SECUUUUURITY!!!! If you have ever had your house broken into, you felt violated. Someone has been in your home, your domain, your fortress of solitude!! We had this happen in our old home. They stole all of my computers, trashed the house and took my beloved 60 inch television. I wanted to go all Batman on the scum who broke into our home. We called up Jay and set up an appointment to have a security system installed. This beat me hanging outside the house at all hours of the night with no shirt and a baseball bat. After talking to Brandon felt that he's the owner, he's going to take care of us. I can't believe how stress free and nice it was to deal with Central Security. First, I had their major competitor come to replace their system which was originally installed in my home. It was an hour long, irritating sales pitch. I have honestly never been so stressed by a purchase situation except when buying a car. And to boot, the guy wouldn't even give me a written quote unless I signed a contract on the spot! The pressure to commit is intense and aggravating. Central Security was like night and day. Russell arrived, greeted me, and got right down to work inspecting the house. He whipped up a written quote within the first 15 minutes and as soon as I had asked all my questions and was satisfied with the answers, he was on his way. No up-sell, no scare mongering for expensive digital door locks: just business. Overall the hardware cost was about $100 more up front with Central Security to bring my home system up to snuff, but the monthly service charge is half of their competitor's rate for basically the same service, minus some bells and whistles I'll probably never use. Best of all, Central Security offers a 90 days cancellation notice policy. Their national competitor always demands a three year contract and WILL come after you for the balance if you cancel. Enjoy being extorted for about $1,400 if you change your mind a year later! You definitely have other options. I highly recommend at least getting a quote from Central Security before you go with one of the other national brands. So far my experience has been great. read more

This is my first review. I have never taken the time to review anything, but I felt the need to do so here. I was in need of an updated security system, basically wanting to add cameras to the outside. Central Security has received mainly all positive here, so I contacted them. Jay contacted me and we discussed my needs over the phone. He was responsive and polite over the phone and agreed to meet me at my house. His price was excellent and he even agreed to install my own cameras and Ring doorbell at no charge. Free installation and a month-to-month contract, so I signed up. Well, my dad always says, "you get what you pay for." First off, I should have suspected something when the Austin office contacted me instead of Pflugerville's office. I live in Round Rock. On the day of installation, Jay came to install the system. The cameras, which I purchased separately, had not been delivered yet. This is when things went horribly wrong. The panel he installed was one from ten years ago. I know, because I had it over ten years ago. I currently had a digital, touch pad panel. He installed one with no screen and simply buttons to push. The corresponding app for my smart phone, which he charged me $100 for, was simply one screen, which consisted of numbers. If you lookat the apps from other companies, this one was laughable. I was expecting a upgrade, but received a used downgrade. Furthermore, he kept the old panel up, so now I had 2 panels. And the one he installed was right above my light switches, so I would have to open and close the panel if I ever wanted to use the lights. Plus, he intentionally chipped the molding around my door because the panel was too big to fit there in the first place. I contacted Jay the same day to cancel the contract. He didn't leave me a copy of the contract, but luckily I know that in Texas you are given 3 days to cancel without penalty. He said he could install a new panel, but it was the one I currently have, that he left on my wall. How is this an upgrade? He then stated that he could take my old panel back to the office to "hack it" and then reinstall it. At this point, I wanted nothing to do with this company and contact the Pflugerville office. Now, I have nothing negative to say in regard to this office. In fact, I would give this office 5 stars. I spoke with Benne, who was extremely helpful. She agreed to come to my house on her lunch break to pick up the panel and equipment Jay, from the Austin office, had installed. By this time, I had another company install a new system. That tech made some comments that bordered on Fraud from Jay. He mentioned that half of the house was not being protected. The Ring doorbell was installed wrong and would not detect motion at my front door. He was curious as to why Jay was in my closet messing with the panel when there were other places in the house he could have plugged into, and he even showed me these outlets. He said with new technology, there is no need to access this panel in my closet. He had me watch him unistall what Jay had put in my closet. When we went to uninstall Jay's equipment, he found names on the back, showing that they were used parts, belonging to other people. I was now more scared than I was before the entire "fiasco" . In the end, maybe it was only Jay. But I could never recommend this company to anyone. If you must use them, please contact Pflugerville. Again, they were responsive and helpful. I am not sure exactly what the situation with Jay was, but something seemed very off in the interaction I had with him. I do plan on contacting the company again to speak with management and I will post an update once I do, but I wanted to alert people who see the reviews before then. read more

After signing up, Eric came out to do the install and was courteous throughout the process, he even offered to remove his shoes upon entry, without being asked. Since installing, we've had a few questions about the system as well as a special request for a new yard sign after our dog jumped on it and broke it.
