Dropped my truck off on Tuesday the 27th of November for a check engine light. The staff was friendly and assured me it would take no more then two days to diagnose. Fast forward to December 3rd and the truck didn't even make it into the shop. I would not recommend going here for service as they simply can't accommodate a simple diagnoses of a check engine light. I was looking at trading in my truck for a newer model and will now be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I'm not happy in my Dodge for several reasons, but that's for another time. What really ticks me off is the sales people here. Guy called Sam emailed me about possibly trading in my car so they can stock up their pre-owned inventory. Obviously excited and willing, I made plans to drive all the way out to Amityville from Staten Island on a Saturday morning. Circumstances as they were, I couldn't make the trip, but emailed Sam asking if there was another time I could come out and talk to him about the trade in. Unfortunately, he NEVER responded or even attempted to contact me. He simply ignored me and my attempt to contact him. Thanks Security for training people who are rude and untrustworthy. Well, Jeep strikes again! If I could give you no stars, I would. After all the bullshit both Security and Bayside Jeep have spoon fed to us my fiancé received a call today from someone at Security asking why he gave zeroes on the survey they asked him to fill out after his experience. If my fiancé could remember the name of the guy that called I would personally pay him a visit, but he can't. Where in any job do you EVER have the nerve to call and ask someone why they rated your performance so low and then follow it up by saying that the low score will affect their year end bonus. This can't even be real life. You know what affects my bank account? The car we took a $3,000 hit on because it was a lemon and the shady lease you locked us into for a car you double sold, only to get us another vehicle, that we didn't want but you knew we needed a car ASAP and then raise the price on the payment. You want to know why you were scored so poorly, because you give poor customer service and poor quality in the vehicle you gave us. You want a better score, earn it, don't call people and whine when you don't get something you didn't work for. You slimebag. read more

Worst customer service EVER. From their so called express Lube and their first come first serve BS. Woke up early on a Saturday morning, my day off, to get to the service center by 7:30a, the time they open, for an EXPRESS LUBE oil change. I arrive basically 5 mins before they open to be told that there about 10 cars in front of me and it'll be about 3 hrs. Express Lube has 10 cars in line (by the way, there was no line!) before they even open?!? Strike one. Fast forward a few months. I get a recall notice in the mail. Call Security Dodge because that's where I purchased my vehicle. Schedule an appointment 2 weeks out. I take the 1st appointment of the day, 7:30a. The day before the appointment, I call 3 times to confirm a loaner car (as I need to get to work) to be told at 8p the night before that they JUST gave away the last loaner car. WTF. This "1st Come, 1st Serve" is nonsense. I never had any issues with them until recently (the last 6 months). It should be a sign of how this place operates when it's never the same service advisors or front desk help in the service area. Car is paid off, I'll be going to an ACTUAL mechanic who ACTUALLY checks the car. Oh right, I forgot to mention that part. When you purchase your vehicle there, you get free oil changes...score right?!? Well don't believe them when they say they checked your car over and everything is marked green. Come to find out, they never checked anything!!!! The anti freeze, power steering & brake fluid were all basically empty!!! Lesson learned. Don't trust this dealership. Good luck. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE!!! I went into Security Dodge on 9-1-18 to look at Jeep Cherokee's and the salesperson Khalil stated He needed me to put a $500 deposit on my card in order to "run my credit" every other dealership I went to never asked me to do this. He explained it was in order to show the bank I was serious about buying the car. I already told him I was and none of the other dealerships asked this of me. I asked to speak to the manager and when the manager came he told me the same thing. I told him if I decide not to buy for any reason would I immediately get my deposit back and he said YES!!! So I reluctantly gave him my card and after running my credit he told me the monthly lease price would be $40 more a month than what we already agreed upon. He said If I come back tomorrow with a co-signer I would get the agreed upon price. So today 9-2-18 I came back with my co-signer who's credit score was 790 I was told the price would only be $11 cheaper a month, still $29 more than we agreed upon. I told the finance guy I would just like my deposit back that I no longer wanted the Jeep. He left and came back and gave me a price only a few dollars less a month than we agreed upon, I told him at this point I just want my deposit back. At that point the finance manager started yelling at me and my wife that he was fed up and "Just give him the price, I'm tired of dealing with these people " at that point I was upset and just asked for my deposit back. I was than told I would have to wait days to get it back and I reminded him of the previous days conversation that I was told I would get my deposit back. The previous days conversation the manager assured me I would immediately get my deposit back. I would like you to check your cameras so you can see the finance manager yelling because not was he completely unprofessional he was aggressive. Someone who acts like that shouldn't be working there. If immediate action isn't taken and my deposit not given back I will certainly take further action. As for the finance manager I want something done. These intimidation tactics won't work with me and if someone doesn't speak to me immediately I'm going straight to Dodge Chrysler Jeep Corporation and demand all party's involved be delt wit REVIEW UPDATE: I was immediately called by the sales manager Sonny who sincerely apologized for the incident. Ripoff! Charged me $370 to replace the battery on my Jeep Cherokee - this without getting the estimate for the repair approved in advance (thanks, Tony). This after quoting me a price of $300 for the repair two days earlier (thanks, Will). This after they told me that Tony would call me with a price before he did the repair (no, he didn't Wendi). Why is the price for replacing a battery such a mysterious and ever-changing number? Ohh - it's because they know they can price gouge you for it three days before Christmas because you NEED your car back. I already disliked the sales department here, but thought I would give the Service Department a shot. I would not be honest if I did not say it for every car owner dealers Service at any dealership is to costly.Even the dealership knows that they use it as a bargaining chip when you are negotiating your car. That said my 2012 Challenger has been brought to Security Dodge for two recalls. Both recalls were handled professionally. I would highly recommend the service shop but if I had issues that I felt could be handled in a less expensive shop I would economically be forced to do. read more

They should just close down this dealership!!!!! I'm still getting a bill from my previous Jeep lease end for over mileage, a worn out tire and a disposition fee!!!! When I went to Security Dodge/Jeep I explained that I needed mileage built into the next deal and I never heard of a disposition fee when going from Jeep to Jeep (all dealerships cover this especially if your going back to lease the same vehicle. I was told over an over again that it was all covered during the sales process and than I received a $1,329.46 bill a month after I took the car home from the previous lease. Incredibly rude and unprofessional staff. Got a quote from them on a lease offer, asked to have it printed out, they refused - even laughed at me and used foul language. I have no idea what could have caused this reaction. Maybe they planned on changing the price on me later and didn't want documented evidence of the original quote. This review is for the service department. I called to make an appointment for a small repair and an oil change and was told that they do not take appointments. I asked to speak with a manager and was told one would call me back. It's been 3 weeks no call back. I went to the service department right when they open to get the services I need and was told that there is a 3-4 hour wait time for these "express" services and no I cannot make an appointment for another day. I contacted the dealership via there website to speak with a manager for service and to I also contacted sales at the same time to compare the experience. Someone from sales called me back within in 10 minutes. They let me know all managers were in a meeting and that they would personally have a service manager call me back. 3 weeks still no call back. I tried to schedule an appointment on there website because the option is there. I scheduled it and was told that someone would contact me to confirm the time. 3 weeks no call back! It's safe to say they have lost my business when I buy a new truck this summer. I stayed with Honda for an extra 3 years after I wanted to leave them simply because there service department was so great. read more

When trying to purchase a preowned jeep I didn't realize cash or your own financing wasn't accepted as a form of payment. "We don't do cash deals or deals where you don't finance through our dealer" word for word what I was told. Also said there's an extra 2 fees combined totaling 1300 on a pre owned. I highly discourage anyone from giving their business to Security Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. My entire experience from beginning to end was terrible. My salesperson was not very knowledgeable about the vehicle and didn't seem too interested in selling me a car. In following up on my experience, customer service was abysmal, staff members were downright rude, disrespectful, and condescending. I had to call four or five times and still never received a call back, I was only able to speak with someone when I caught them at their desk. * update: my car was there for 3 business days, the issue is still not fixed. Although security claims there is nothing they can do. After going there 4x for the issue, this is not what a long time customer wants to hear. I really have such mixed reviews about this dealership. In the past, I have received stellar service. As of my past visit, it wasn't even comparable. My service advisor was short with me, said he would check on my car after an hour but I guess he forgot about me. 30 min later, I check in with the girls and go into his office. He tells me they didn't hear the noise I was referring to in my car, and I'm good to go home. After 90 min! I left annoyed, heard the noise in my car and turned around to have someone drive with me in my car. Needless to say, they didn't hear it either (Murphys law) and now I'm back at the dealership, waiting for another technician to drive with me in my car to listen to the noise. I also recorded it so they can hear for themselves. I think I should preface by saying this exact same issue happened last summer. Had to come in twice for something they didn't hear but it ended. If I could rate this dealership lower I would. I have had 3 jeeps in a row. Been driving jeep for 18 years. This dealership is full of liars scammers and people that wont own their issues. I don't know where to start. Maybe the fact that I went and picked a car out and negotiated a price. A loaded Trailhawk. It was late and raining they told me to come in the next day to pick up. Well guess what. They tried to put me in lesser model on me. No electric seats, no leather, lower grade rims, no technology package...you get it. Also, when negotiating with one of their salespeople they left this womans notes out on the table and walked away. I could read the notes and it was full of insults about me and how they had 4000 dollars of negotiation room in the deal. (I still have the notes, I took a photo with my phone) Sevice issues, the only thing this service department can do right is put on their Security Dodge license plates covers on the car. And to be honest it wasn't done well either. They train these service people to lie to you. My car has an issue that has not been recalled yet. I am already in double digit recalls..So this time it wont take gas. Well 4 visits later they finally say they have it fixed. They are trying to follow some internal chat on steps to take to fix the problem. Problem is...they didn't do that the first time. They said they changed the tank. But according to my wonderfully honest service tech Wendy, their is a process to follow..change the gas tube, change the gas pump then change the oxygen pressure. Whatever. She gave me different steps every time I spoke to her. So my significant other hears there is a fuel pressure problem and she doesn't want to get in the car with her baby under the understandable belief that this car could catch fire, etc... So now I have a car that nobody including myself doesn't want to get into and drive. Lets not talk about being hung up on...not having calls returned consistently from the Service manager and the slap on the way out with a new set of Plate advertising covers. Last time they put those on my car my registration was sitting on my dash. They couldn't put that on but they could put my Plate covers on. We will see what happens. I am looking at Lemon laws in New York State and the county. Putting car in storage and will save the bill for Security dodge Chrysler. read more

I write this review to help prevent the incredible disservice a person will likely receive if they do business with Security Jeep/Dodge. It's also important to know that I am a past customer of Security Jeep having purchased a new 2012 Jeep Liberty. This time around, I am in the market for a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited. I am trading in a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible 4LT Centennial edition. I did my homework on both the value of my trade according to Kelly Blue Book (avg. trade in 42k) and the price the Wrangler is selling for. In obtaining the value of my trade, I was accurate about the condition of the car which included needing four new tires. A set of tires is about $1500. To my surprise, Security Jeep only offered me $30,500. When I questioned the value and asked if they accounted for all of the options, they said they missed that it was a 4LT. As a result, they gave it a new value of $34,000. An hour later, working with a sales manager, they dropped the value to $32,000. I have since learned that many auto dealers pay for a service from Galves which is known to place valuations on vehicles significantly lower than companies like KBB and NADA. I decided to shop elsewhere as their offer was quite far off from the KBB valuation. I went to another dealer who offered $38K on my trade but did not have the Wrangler I was looking for. I decided to go back to the Kelly Blue Book website where I saw an option for an instant cash offer. I entered all of my car information and was presented with a $39,018 offer. Ironically, Security Jeep was listed as one of the three places where I could receive that amount. I took the offer to Security and asked for a sales manager. It was there I was introduced to Sunny Kaliandasani. Warning: if you find yourself working with Sunny, run! I explained the entire situation to Sunny and showed him the offer. Sunny along with the other sales managers were immediately defensive. One manager suggested that if they had to honor the 39K offer, then they would charge me above sticker price for the Jeep. The entire time Sunny even stated that he would be doing me a huge favor by selling me this jeep and taking my trade. He required that I pay him full sticker price for the Jeep. At this point, I was worn down and couldn't negotiate any further, so I agreed. The next day, I spoke to Sunny to arrange to sign the paperwork. I tried several times to reach him and had to keep leaving messages. I finally got in contact with him at 4PM only to hear him change the entire story. He stated that for them to honor my trade in price, he needed me to drive to his shop, complete paperwork, then pickup one of his salespeople and drive us both to Mannheim Auctions in Lancaster, PA which is a 3hr 30 minute drive. Sunny stated that this was their requirement to accept this trade even know Kelly Blue Book does not stipulate that. It became clear to me that Security Jeep had no interest in selling me the Jeep. Keep in mind that with Security Jeep's original trade offers they hoped to make over $10,000 by devaluing the trade. That represents 25% of the total deal value and does not include what the dealership makes on selling the jeep. Clearly, Security Jeep is more interested in extracting unjustified profits than building a happy customer base. Last night I picked up the exact Jeep that I was looking for at another dealership. Unfortunately, I had to go to a dealer that was 25 miles away, but they gave me the full value of my trade and also discounted the sticker price off the car. The end result is me being a happy Jeep customer but one that will never enter Security Jeep again. Buyer beware of Security Jeep and Sunny. read more

Summer of '15 I purchased a 2015 JGC Overland at Security brand new. (50k dollar truck) Today I learned that even though I came in for routine oil changes, maintenance, etc, my tires were never rotated. My service papers stated after each oil change (every 5k miles) I had a recommended service next visit of a tire rotation. Never once was I asked if I wanted them rotated or re-aligned. Recently I observed my front tires were severely losing tread. I promptly made a service appointment and brought my Jeep to Security. I was informed that my tires had never been rotated even after 6!!!!! Oil changes. 6 papers that stated my tires needed rotation and I was never inquired about it or told they charge 29.95 for the service either. In my history of other NEW car purchases the dealerships involved rotated my tires or at least informed me I needed to pay for that service. After a disagreement about paying for the replacement tires I asked to speak to a manager (going on 2 hours waiting now) Long story short, my father and I disagreed that we should be liable for the replacements. (Car has a bumper to bumper lifetime warranty as well as Tire Doctor coverage) Bill the service manager was the most unprofessional, rude, demeaning person I've ever dealt with at Security (up until this moment I'd have given them a 5* rating) my father voiced his frustration to another customer that they should avoid purchasing at Security. Bill attempted to intimidate my father by saying everything is audio recorded and that he'd have my father arrested. Are you kidding me? This chain of events will be making its way to FCA. I'm appalled at how I was handled this morning. If this is how they handle a customer that has given them a $25k dollar down payment then I can only feel for those who buy used or lease. ****EDIT I have been contacted by SDCJ and received a sincere apology. I was told the issue was absolutely not handled professionally and that they will be in contact with me tomorrow. I'll edit this review as the situation transpires. **** EDIT 2: I dealt with a customer relations agent (I was told they made the position 6 months ago to follow up with bad reviews and help improve their piss poor customer service) who worked on my behalf to attempt to compensate me for the two tires. At the end of our first phone call she said she wanted to clear up the negative review I left I said when the situation is rectified I'll gladly update it. Long story short when I told them I already purchased 4 new tires from my mechanic they became pretty unbothered and offered me the store credit equivalent of 1 new tire. Brought a used hyundai elantra from them and still unable to get our registration. Not only did they stop answering phones but they dont even bother to return them either. They will only be polite till you make a purchase, after that youre not even worth their time. I agree with the previous reviewer Joe, their action is nothing less than fraud because car is paid in full and I have every right to obtain my registration. Terrible sales experience with Corey, Mike from service has been helpful if you exclude the car was kept for a whole month without notifying us, and last but not least Patty and Victoria, both from registration has not been any help to our situation. If you want basic, better or excellent customer service, go somewhere else. I don't know what has happened with this dealership. Past experiences have been good, the last two, no. I won't try for a third time. I brought my car into Service for an airbag recall. I had a scheduled appointment for 8:45 a.m. - I didn't just show up and request service. I arrived 15 minutes early, and the office tech said the car would by done by 10 a.m. By 11, I hadn't heard from them, so I called. Was on hold for 15 minutes, 3 people picked up the phone during that time. Told each one I was checking on my car, got put back on hold. Finally, the fourth person picked up, and I asked about the car. Was told to hold on, I said 'no', I've been on hold for almost 20 minutes, now I'm coming down for my car. I showed up at the dealer, and saw my car was in the same parking spot it was in at 8:45. Went in and the desk clerk says the car hasn't been looked at yet. At this point, I'm not pleased. Told him to give me my keys, I'm taking the car. He asks, "Can I reschedule your appointment?" I said, "Can you make appointments for other dealers?". I left. We have had to go through some hassle with this dealership and it has been the worst experience yet. My dad bought a used car for me from them only to have it returned to their mechanic for airbag and leakage issues. They did not notify us about anything for the first two weeks until we kept calling and requesting info. Unfortunately it didnt end with that, it has been two months since we got the car (PAID IN FULL) but we are unable to get our registration. They keep telling us theyre going to take care of it and call us back, excuse my language but it is complete BULLSHIT. We are done with them and will take legal action in order to save our money. Today I came to have my inspection done. It was a pretty busy since it was a Saturday... My service advisor John is always on point. Waiting time was your average time on a busy Saturday. The only thing I would suggest is that when the vehicle is done being service, bring the keys back to the main desk and lock the car. Security Dodge in Amityville, NY is the worst dealership in history and I say that very strongly. The service staff sucks and are very unprofessional. The sales team are a bunch of crooks who can care less about your satisfaction, they rather rob you blind. I purchased a Durango R/T back in April 2018. The vehicle has been in the service center every month since then. Security Dodge has had my car for over two weeks for a problem that should have been fixed in hours. This Friday will make 3 weeks straight that my car has been in the service center. Mind you this is their 4th attempt trying to fix the same problem. No one has followed up to provide me with an update. When I call there I'm given the run around and never can speak to my service advisor. At this point I will be getting my lawyer, Dodge Corporate and Better Business Bureau involved because they have violations under the lemon law which will be address. I never would buy a car from this dealership I have a really bad experience since day one and I'm keeping have it. It took me 7 hours to buy a car when the told me it would take 2 or 3. I have really tired and irritated that the owner Gabriel came by and tried to speed up about a long wait. He told me if I have any problems again come to see him but guess what now that I'm going to ask for help he can't help me and just give me an excuse. I wouldn't buy another car from them and wouldn't let my friends or family buy one from them they don't care about you after you bought the car the only car about the money. Was told they were "throwing in" a free 3 year service plan for my new vehicle. Was in the dealership for 7 hours after working overnight. They wore me down mentally on top of being already tired. Days after my purchase I reviewed the paperwork to find they tacked on $1400 for that "free" service plan. Guess they needed to stick it to the customer. This is how they treat referrals I would hate to see how they handle random consumers walking in off of the street. BTW I was promised a follow up on this problem but truth be told they don't want to hear about it because they know. I went to about 5 other dealerships before I went to Security in Amityville... I landed there because they swore up and down I would get approved, just come in they kept saying. I came... and i ended up with a decent Deal on my 2012 SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. What was not a good deal is the fact that they somehow snuck in an extra 10,000 dollars onto my loan. What is also not ok is that they promised me multiple things on the truck when i was picking it up, and they said " Don't worry, you can leave and come back in a couple of days and we will do it" Well that was in September of 2012, it is now March of 2013, and I am STILL playing phone tag with them for the parts they owe me, and no one wants to hear a thing about the magical 10k that I got billed out of nowhere. Avoid this dealership if you can, they will sweet talk you to get your money but once you do you are nothing to them. Pretty sad is that even if you buy the most expensive car on their lot, you still get treated like garbage. Run away Update: March 2014..... still never got the stuff I was promised.... they think peoples time is a game. Its not..... treat customers like they're paying your bills because they are.... Horrible purchase experience !! I felt like I needed to take a shower after leaving this dealership !! The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because my experiences with the service department have been positive. This dealership is not the closest to my home .. but they promised me I would always have a loaner vehicle available to me when I needed to service my car. Well 4 service visits later .. I have never been able to take advantage of a loaner vehicle. All the employees involved in my purchase are no longer with the dealership. I just felt that they were not honest with me when I purchased my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee !! I love my Jeep .. hate this dealership .. do your homework ... dont believe anything thats not in writing. Take your business to a dealership that values you as a customer.
