I was humiliated by Vinny, the Customer Service Manager and his helper Miami, gentleman that checks vehicles in the shop. a few days ago , I had a 930am appointment for a car inspection. I sat in their waiting room for 1hr and 20 mins before I got up and still notice my car was still in the parking lot. I went to Managers office to let Vinny know. He just said something like "the machine is down"... we are fixing it... rebooting it... I still waited another 20 mins then I got up and again went to his office to complaint. As I was talking to Vinny , this guy Miami comes to tell me to shut up.... like he owns the business or as if he had answers for my problem. No one invited you to this conversation! Vinny has no caliber to be a Manager, He was not aware that the machine was down. He never got up from his chair or invited me into his office to discuss the issue. He shout everything from his comfortable chair. Someone could've come to me as soon as I walked in that morning and said the machine was down and offer solutions. No one did. I found out the hard way after 1hr and 20 mins. I asked for my car key and took my business somewhere else. It's very unfortunate... such poor customer service.... Even the guy that checks in cars Miami came to make a scene and scream at me, been so disrespectful... and this is all in front of Vinny, the Customer Service Manager !!!! We've been buying KIA's since 1999... and this is by far the worst experience. Hope the owners take notice and most importantly all potential customers out there... If they knew the machine was down prior to 930am , they could've call me and reschedule, but no, they had me there seating down for 1hr and 20 mins before I got up. I did not purchase my car from here, i purchased it from Autoworld and had one of the worst experiences ive ever had at an establishment from the sale, the pick up, and service. So bad.... I recently moved to the area and this is now my local Kia dealership. The previous dealership did work on my brand new car because ive had nothing but issues with it and did not secure the door panel correctly when completing the job. I guess now with it getting warmer the plastic/rubber expanded and it was getting stuck and i was physically getting stuck in my car 8 months pregnant having to climb out another door. I brought here and they treated me incredibly. I was really nervous due to my previous experience but they really went as above and beyond as possible. Technically they didnt even have to fix the issue as it was done by the previous dealership but they did with no problems and no cost to me. I'm so impressed and so happy that I have a reliable team to work with when it comes to service. Bought my car here before the dealership was sold. The purchase included 3 complimentary oil changes and lifetime inspections, and I had only used one. Came in recently and was told the new ownership is not honoring any of the complimentary services from the previous dealership. Disappointing to see perks promised to customers simply disappear after a sale. Not a great way to retain prior customers. After going to multiple Kia dealerships and inquiring with a car broker with no success- I found the car I wanted at South Shore Kia. South Shore Kia was A really great experience for me. Inventory was accurate from when I called that morning regarding Kia Carnivals. The showroom was neat and I was greeted by Alex. Alex was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Kia, which was helpful since I never had a kia before. Alex helped me get the price I wanted/expected for the car, even given the market/interest rates of 2023. The process of getting the car model/color/features I wanted was easy, and I was able to leave with the car the same day. This dealership doesn't let you sit for hours and play what I call the "dealership game" of back and forth. The longest part was setting up vehicle insurance after business hours and not related to Kia. Alex also taught me all the features in my new car before I left the dealership and stayed after hours to make sure I was happy and comfortable with everything. We went in to just take a look at the Kia Telluride since we were working with a lease company about possibly getting one. Desi helped us and was extremely helpful and didn't make us feel pressured at all to talk sales. We went back and forth about the price and were about to go forward with the leasing company. The management office called us at Kia and after talking to them they offered a price that was close to where we wanted to be. The experience was simple, painless and more enjoyable than my last car buying experience, that is until it came time to sign the paperwork. The financial manager 'Addy' came in and started going over the paperwork. My mother in law asked a question about pricing and he FLIPPED OUT on her. Saying she was reneging the deal (which was not the case she was simply asking a question) and making the Sales Associate feel guilty and inadequate. He said that "this is why I hate dealing with friends and family" as if working in customer service and answering finance questions was not part of his job. She walked out due to frustration and being completely disrespected. While she was walking out he yelled "if you are so worried about the pricing, why don't you co-sign". I sat there mortified at what I just witnessed and he had the audacity to proceed complaining about her as if yelling at a customer was appropriate. This is when I stopped him to point out how rude he was being and he responded by throwing the deal he got me in my face, as if he expected me to kiss the ground he walked on. Had my car repaired at Kia of south shore. When I went to pay, they charged a $40 credit card payment surcharge. I was paying with a debit card. It is illegal in NYS to charge a debit card payment surcharge. In addition, the calculate the surcharge net of sales tax, so they are illegally profiting from NYS sales tax. I informed the manager. He laughed and said there is nothing you can do about it. Would not release my car until I paid the extortion. I filed a complaint with the bank and NYS. Kia had to refund the surcharge. I am sure I am not the only one who absolutely dreads the day you have to get a new vehicle because the lease is up because you know it will take the entire day. Not here. I came in pretty late (around 5pm). Jay Sarasty was the one to greet amd help me with everything. He was really pleasant to deal with. Patient and accomodating he did not seem to mind my undecisiveness. filled out an online inquiry for a new car, all I wanted to do was schedule a test drive. I received an email from a "Nattalie" saying she'd get back to me ASAP to answer my questions. I emailed her back saying I wanted to schedule a test drive... no phone call or email back to me, at all. I called and left a voicemail, and still, nothing. A few days later I received an email from an "Anthony Dash" who is supposedly the MANAGER there, saying "I see my sales specialist hasn't been able to get to you yet, please let me know if I can help you." Alright... so I emailed him back asking to set up a test drive. No response at all. I sent him a second email the next day... no response at all. Wtf? I then called his phone number on his email - which isn't HIS phone number but just the general dealership number - and after 12 or so rings, NO ONE PICKS UP!!! Amazing! I give them one star because there's no negative stars, I bought a Kia Nero on 2017, although the car is great, this dealership , specifically the service department sucks, since I have been a customer there, I don't think they have ever had the same owner or management , or so they say. On my last visit there, I went for regular maintenance and a problem I had with my fog lights, they called me with a recommendation for some other work ($600+) for my vehicle. I reluctantly agreed, when I went to pick my car up they said there was nothing wrong with my lights, when I checked it , it didn't work, they'd never checked, now when I complained the manager said he would take care of it and have the mechanic check, after a long wait he said that I needed to replace the whole casing and that would cost $649, when I told him that he was a liar because I was observing my car the whole time, and that no one ever looked at it he said that I was wrong, I then told him why was I being charged for the oil change when there are clearly posted signs that say the oil change is free for KIA and Hyundai ownners. He said that those signs were there from the previous owners, and that they were in the process to take them down, I happened to drive by the dealership last week and the signs were still there, BTW, this happened on the later part of December 2021, I didn't post about until I fixed the fog light (my friends son did it) for under one hundred dollars. I just found out my daughter purchased a used car from SS Kia of Copiague. The contract is misleading and looks to me as if it might have been altered and daily finance fees intentionally left out. I am not sure if it is a practice for dealers to date contracts 2 days later than the vehicle is purchased, but it seems a bit sketchy to me. All I am going to say is this ,read your contract carefully. Especially the tiny print where you sign.Do not sign anything electronically, because your signature can be used later on. Don't let them bully you into thinking you have to purchase add-ons. Don't sign arbitration clauses. Meaning if they deceive you ,you can't sue in court. Get your financing through your own bank or better yet a credit union. Know your own credit score before you get there and research what you might qualify for as far as financing amount. Make sure you ask for the car fax. Also ask if there are any open recalls on any used vehicle purchase. Make sure you ask them have they given you all disclosures required by New York State. My suggestion is you record your interaction with who you do business with for your records. I would never recommend this particular dealer to anyone. I can't say if all their other dealerships are the same.but this is a bad look for the group. read more

Carlos and Addy were super helpful through the process and they were willing to negotiate to find something in my budget. We worked out a deal SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER then every other dealership had offered me for any make and model I looked at. I even drove over an hour from the city just to deal with them. On June 19th, 2023 I signed a contract with the South Shore Kia for a 36 months lease of a new Kia Niro EV taking advantage of what I thought at that time of a wonderful offer from Kia of a one year of complimentary fast charging anywhere in the United States provided by the Kia USA for a newly leased Kia Niro EV. Upon my arrival to the South Shore Kia on June 19th the above offer was confirmed and I was reassured by the Sales and Leasing Consultant Saboor Arif, the consultant who was working with me, and later by the Finance Manager Dan Archer when I was signing the lease agreement, one year of complimentary charging will be activated by the Kia USA the next day by the Kia Connect after I will contact the Kia USA Customer Service. As I learned next day, June 20th, when I called the Kia USA Customer Service following the dealer directions to activate "one year of complimentary charging" with the Kia Connect, I was told by the representative that the Kia USA not only does not offer or provide "one year of complimentary charging" but as I was told not even aware of a such "limited time special promotion" by any Kia authorized dealer in the country. Today, two weeks later, on July 3rd, 2023, the South Shore Kia not only still refusing to acknowledge and correct what I thought at first was a mistake or misunderstanding that will be addressed by the South Shore Kia and Kia USA in a short period of time, but completely opposite, the South Shore Kia still actively advertising and promoting a completely inaccurate and false "special offer", still misleading potential Kia customers providing incorrect and without any foundation "special offer" information, including on the front page of the South Shore Kia website, only now as of "4th of July Special Deal" that expires on July 5th, 2023. Since my initial communications with the dealership after discovering "the mistake" on June 24th, including the Sales and Leasing Consultant Saboor Arif and the following day the General Sales Manager Eric Martinez, and my unsuccessful attempts to connect with the Finance Director Adnan Contractor, all my calls to the South Shore Kia sales and finance departments remaining answered, all my numerous voice messages left remained unreturned. The Kia USA and the Kia Connect both continuing to advise to address the issue with the South Shore Kia directly, under premises that each authorized Kia dealer is an independent business, no Kia USA Regional Sales Manager (unfortunately I don't have his or her name because the Kia USA is refusing to provide me the name and contact information based on the company policy), not assigned to my case Kia Connect Case Manager never reached me back after my multiple attempts to find out the status of my case with the Kia USA, which I was told I should hear back within 24 to 48 hours by email or by a phone call. A complete failure to communicate and address the issue on all the levels by the South Shore Kia and by the Kia USA, refusing to acknowledge the problem and continuing advertising and promoting the one year of complimentary charging as the "special offer" for me is a clear sign of not only poor customer service by the dealership as well as by the Kia USA Customer Service but more importantly a clear case of intentionally providing misleading and false advertising information by the South Shore Kia. read more

So I took it to my nearest dealership because the car would not accelerate over 30 mph it took a month for my car to be repaired then a few months later the issue happened again the engine light was back on the car and my automatic start would not work . I was so frustrated and contacted Hyundai corporate myself and put in a full complaint to get an investigation on my car , then the third time my car was back in the shop with engine issue again day before Christmas I still don't have my car back as I write this review. My car was brought in to South Shore KIA due to the engine burning oil. KIA has a 100,000 powertrain warranty. At the time my car had 88,698 miles and I was told I would get an oil change from South Shore KIA and return after driving 1,000 miles they would then determine if the car was really burning oil. It was determined I was burning oil and they submitted a request to the tech line which would approve the warranty covering a replacement engine. KIA needed my receipts for oil changes to prove I was maintaining the vehicle. I told them I had some but I may need to talk to my mechanic if he had copies. I was instructed by Christhian Parra that we would submit whatever we had because he needed the loaner car back. The tech line wanted to do a partial tear down which I was told I would have to pay about $400 if the claim was not approved. KIA tech line was provided a video of the tear down that was done by South Shore KIA. The technician doing the video can be heard saying the engine is clean no signs of sludge. The video shows a clean engine and I was told the purpose of the video was to prove it was being maintained since I didn't have all my oil change receipts. KIA tech declined the claim due to sludge. KIA is not honoring their warranty. Their own technicians have stated that the engine is clean and maintained. Many professionals including their own employees have maintained that the engine is clean of sludge and well maintained. I also have the video however I am unable to upload it due to the size. I have brought my vehicle to South Shore Kia for every service the past 14 years. There have been ups and downs regarding their service department. After my most recent service I will not be returning for any future services or to purchase a new car. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. Their communication is TERRIBLE. After having a major repair (thousands $) my check engine light went on so I bought it in. Because I am a loyal customer, in the past they would take my car right in and make room to service it. This time my car sat in the shop at least 10 days without hearing ANYTHING from them. Any contact or questions we had to initiate; and we got vague answers like "we are down a tech, the tech is overwhelmed". Then "The tech is working on it" but next contact "he was doing something else". Why was that? Finally today I got my car back, but only after I had to fight with the manager, wait an extra 3 hours past time they said it was due, and not receive a discount promised. I understand unforeseen circumstances happen, but why not show some respect for your customers and keep them updated on progress or lack of progress?
