TERRIBLE SALES EXPERIENCE. 0 STARS IF POSSIBLE! i went into this dealership looking to lease a Ram 1500 for my son. I had been to a few dealerships to find an idea on the pricing. When i went to this dealership the monthly payments/money down was way to unreasonable. As i tried to negotiate with the sales man, a Mr. Chris P, i was told what i was asking for was not possible. So i stood up went to shake his hand, to not waste anymore time, and thanked him for his time. Not only DID HE NOT shake my hand! he replied, "your just going to leave like that?" i replied "yes, i thank you for your time but the amount your asking for is way above my budget." This salesman then stood up and screamed to the entire dealership, "GET OUT OF MY SHOWROOM, YOUR JUST GOING TOO WASTE MY TIME LIKE THIS?, LEAVE MY SHOWROOM RIGHT NOW" as i was walking out he continued to yell, "LEAVE MY SHOWROOM NOW!" As i was leaving i tried too warn a few other customers of the mistreatment that i experienced. I was shocked that a place of business treats their customers in this fashion. This place is a rip off they try and scam you out of your deposit. I went to buy a jeep and they wouldn't give me a price with out giving them a security deposit, I left them $100 and the sales manager (which is also the owners son) assured me that I'd get my deposit back if I didn't agree on a price. after 2 houses of negotiating we didn't agree on a price we were both comfortable with. I tried getting my $100 and after a week and a half and 3 visits of them telling me that the person that gives the refunds was not there I finally got my money back. Beware!!! I got the Yelp app specifically to see what others were saying about this dealer. I'm not surprised to see that I am not the only customer that has had a terrible experience. I purchased a jeep Cherokee 7/2014. In May 2015 with less than 6k miles on the car I had a mandatory transmission recall (jeep was running/driving fine). This is where my nightmare begins...The service department has a lot to be desired. The left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. Their is very poor communication between the customer and the service advisor. At one point in all this mess I asked to speak to the service manager, he returned my call the next day but never carried through on his promises. During one service visit that was pre-arranged I brought the car in with the understanding that the repair would take 3-4 days. As always the dealer did not have a loaner car available. I am convinced that they only have one loaner car because it's never available. My jeep was scheduled to have a new transmission put in however, 8 days later I find out that my jeep received a computer software upgrade. Certainly this could have been done while I waited, instead my family and I spent a week of summer vacation stuck without a vehicle. As far as I'm concerned the service department provides terrible customer service, they lack the ability to communicate and manage workflow as well as they are insensitive and unaware of the needs of their clients. Unfortunately it's 1/2016 and my transmission issues have not been resolved. I have since escalated my issues to Chrysler Corporation and now have a case pending with NCDS This is my second and last car that I will purchase from this dealership. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! You don't know what you are getting when buying from here. Horrible experience at Security Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM in Amityville. I have an older Jeep that I am looking to replace. My husband purchased an RT Dodge Durango 3 years ago at this dealership, so when we received an email about their Labor Day event, I went in to take a look at their Jeeps. This was Saturday, Sept. 1st. After a long day of negotiating and trying to find the right fit, I decided on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited w/Technology Group pkg. It wasn't on the lot and I'd have to wait a few days. I was ok to wait. A few days later I get a call my truck is in and I set an appointment to pick it up on Thursday, Sept. 6th. Almost 3 Hours of waiting for paperwork, it becomes apparent that they gave me the wrong truck. It looked exactly like the one I was going to lease, but it didn't have the technology group pkg. If I didn't notice it, I would have left with the wrong/lesser truck! So, they transfer my insurance back to my truck (which I come to find out they did not), apologize for the mistake and tell me they are expediting the right truck to the dealership (Took longer than the first one). I get a call Wednesday, Sept. 12th that it's in and I make an appt. to pick it up. I went today and went out to make sure it was the right one and inspect it. I was not happy. 1. It was FILTHY - mud all over break pad, drivers side floor and front of car. It had Armor All oil dots and smears EVERYWHERE handprints, etc. And sticker glue on glass and door jam. 2. Had scratches along the driver's side in different spots. They take it to detail it & try to buff out scratches. After another hour, I go back and not only is it not much cleaner, and the scratches are still there, there is a new HUGE scratch on the hood and large chip in the top of the windshield. Kind of looked like someone hit it with the head of a hammer. Manager comes over and says very little and then says that they can fix it all, but I'd have to either leave and come back when they have it done OR take it broken and bring it back and leave it with them to repair. I told him this is a NEW TRUCK. It is broken. I won't take it. I'm not taking a damaged vehicle. No offer of another one to replace it. Not even an offer to lower the price because of the MAJOR inconvenience. I was so upset, I said just switch everything back over to my old truck. He casually says Ok, that's fine switch it over and walks off. I then had to wait an additional 30-40 minutes for these people to get my title back to me, get my plates back, fill out a credit card charge back for my deposit, etc. I still don't know if my insurance was put back on my truck because my insurance agent is closed. I have to call tomorrow to make sure. I don't know what happened at this place, but it is run like crap. I will never step foot in there again. My husband's finance is up in just under 2 years and we were planning on going right back there to look at the SRTs. Not anymore. This was such a terrible experience. I should have known as soon as they almost let me leave the first time with a lesser truck that it was shady. Lesson learned. Just wanted to warn others before you do what I did. Lose time off of work multiple times, spend hours upon hours sitting and waiting over multiple days just to leave empty handed and disappointed. read more

The Amityville Horror Buyer Beware. I inquired over the phone about a used car. I asked about photos and was told that there were none because the car had just been acquired. Over the past several months I have looked at a number of these convertibles and found quite a few with interior odors. So I asked the sales person if the car had an odor. After a short time the sales person stated that it did not have an odor and the car is in mint condition. Buyer Beware. Security Dodge of Amityville Horror stated to me in October 2014 that this car was just taken in by Security Dodge and that Security Dodge needed to run it through its shop before I could pick it up. CarFax documents that Security Dodge offered the car for sale on 7/17/2014 and serviced it 7/29/2014. Who should we believe CarFax or Security Dodge of Amityville Horror. Buyer Beware. I took the hour and twenty minute trip out to Security Dodge of Amityville Horror to see the car. We walked to the car with the salesman and after he opened the door he immediately put the top down. During our test drive I decided to buy the car. Now the salesman tells me he wants to be right up front with me and stats that there is a $795.00 dealer fee on top of the internet price. I said how's that upfront, we have been here for an hour and what is a dealer fee? He said it is a Bull S_ _ _ fee which enables them to show a low price on the internet to get customers to the dealership. And that I was proof that it worked. I offered to pay the full internet price with out the dealer fee. He said he couldn't waive the dealer fee and walked away. Buyer Beware. Unfortunately my Security Dodge of Amityville Horror story didn't end here. Buyer Beware. My father in law told me, dealers wants to sell cars. You shouldn't have left mad you should have just spoken to the sales manger. So we called him. Buyer Beware. The three of us worked out a deal and the manager stated I couldn't pick up the car today because it has never been through our shop (CarFax Contradiction)Come tomorrow at 4PM. He then gave me the total price and said there won't be any hidden fees. So the next day my wife and I made the hour plus trip to the Security Dodge of Amityville Horror again. We arrived before 5PM. Unfortunately the sales manager that I dealt with was not there. My wife and I went to check the car and she immediately said that the car smells. So thinking back to when my buddy and I test drove the car I remembered the salesman had immediately put down the top. Thinking now is it possible Sandy Damaged??? Buyer Beware. Then there was a DMV paper work paper work issue. So instead of transferring plates I had to pay for new plates to the tune of $197.00. Which for a mid size car I thought it was a little high but I let it go. Now the salesman and the finance guy show me the bill of sale which is way over the agreed price. They immediately stated they saw the error and would fix it. Now my wife and I are forgotten about. We asked twice how much longer. The first time they said ten minutes and the second response was a nasty "this stuff takes time." Buyer Beware. Now I notice I'm being short changed on the used car warranty. Originally I was told 60 days and 3K miles. But the warranty paper work clearly states 90 Days and 4K miles. I then asked multiple times for documentation explaining the warranty coverage and never received it. Buyer Beware. I told my wife if there's one more problem I'm walking out. Subsequently I was showed an incorrect bill of sale two more times. The second and final time was due to a New Tire disposal fee. I said I'm not buying new tires nor does the car have new tires so I'm not paying this fee. I was told then I can't sell you the car. I walked out. BTW the fee was $12.50. Buyer Beware. There were all new people and that turned out to be a good thing. John Sciortino was so accommodating and so helpful. When I picked up the Jeep Sunday I was upset there was no Navigation. I called John he called me right back and by Monday morning I was in a different Jeep. The one I really wanted. John is smart, funny but most of all one amazing Sales Manager. The worst car dealership in the history of us buying/leasing cars. We leased a 2019 Truck from them and it's been hell ever since. First of all, I had a bad vibe from our sales representative, but my husband wanted it so badly, he went ahead and leased the truck. Now he regrets every minute of it. Imagine we are on the highway driving and the engine light turns on, just like that. When we got off the highway, the truck stops completely in traffic. This happened two times so far. Very, very dangerous. Imagine entire family in the car and this happens. What would have happened if someone was speeding behind us? The last time my husband took the car in to be fixed, they kept the truck an entire week and never called to say they would keep it that long. Thank God we had another car. Now we have the same situation happening again and unfortunately don't have another car. How the hell are we supposed to get around or even take our child to school? Then they told my husband that they don't offer loaners. I seriously believe they leased us a LEMON and knew that. Who has a business and operates like this? They should be doing everything in their power to make this right. Very disappointed.....I am definitely waiting to speak to someone in cooperate about this matter. read more

I mentioned i wanted to just come in and look at a "very high end" sports car, me being a 21 year old looking at his dream car (which i mentioned right away). I was offered a test drive and i immediately said yes, then the day off they give me the run around and say they don't let anyone test drive it without a 10K deposit. Well why didn't you tell me that on spot!??! No wonder Dodge can't sell the dam thing, they don't let anyone touch it or experience it...to at least spread the word. Production is ending in 2017 now i see why. This wont stop me from owning one in the future cause its been my dream car since the age of 10, but I could see customers being turned off by an experience like that. Three days later I own a beautiful Jeep Trail Hawk in my FAVORITE color, Omaha Orange!! I would recommend this dealership to all my family and friends! I saved big $$$$$ on buying a 2015 which is great for me!!! They gave me top dollar for my car that I was trading in. The other dealerships (3 in total) I went to did not come close to what Security was willing to give me for my trade in. I am so sick of dealing with this place. Brought my car in last Thursday at 730 AM to have them check the software and to give me a new key. 730 pm rolls around have not had a single phone call about my car so I give them a call for them to tell me that the car hasn't even been looked at, 12 hours at this point my car sat there with nothing being done and no one was going to call me. They said it was going to be looked at the next day so I give them the whole day I call again at 730 pm so at this point my car has been sitting there for 36 hours, and they let me know that my car YET AGAIN had not been looked at. Took my car home that night after a wasted 2 days at this god forsaken place, bring it back in today at around 830am because the service advisor John Bretagna said he would have my car done for me and that he would be calling me no later then 12 pm to update me on the status. 5pm rolls around I've heard nothing so I call him on his extension no answer, I call again to the service desk for the woman to tell me he's helping someone okay cool fine I leave her my name and number to have him call me back no call back happened for over an hour so I call again leave him a voicemail on his extension to call me back and another half hour goes by so I have my boyfriend drive me there to find out what's going on with my car at 7 pm. My cars been there all day at this point and I've gotten no call I'm pretty sure they just started working on it when i got there but he told me they had the same guy working on the car who basically had no idea what he was doing last time beats me as to why they would give this guy something to work on that he clearly can't handle. Every time I come here it's a shit show I spend forever waiting to speak to someone who just has a bunch of I'm sorry I'm sorry yet no fixing the issues. There's absolutely no communication you have to harass them to find anything out. When there are so many places to go buy cars, I dont know why anyone would go here after reading all these horror stories... here's mine. Went in to lease a truck and trade my old lease in. They gave me a price and sonny said don't worry ill def get it done for that price. We daid please, if the price is any different dont make us come in and waste our time. He then reassured us not to worry. After sitting in the showroom for an hour on the day we were picking up my truck , he came to get us so I asked is the price still the same? He said well the truck you brought us is "garbage" mind you its a perfect 2015 durango rt. He tried picking apart my trade in by saying that the trick was hit ( which it was hit while parked on the passenger side)and the paint job is horrible. He then went down the driver side and said whomever painted this sucks. I said call dodge, looking confused he saod why. I said youre looking at the wrong side. His "appraiser " came over and told me I was wrong and the driver side was definitely hit. I said go recheck the carfax. I walked inside and while talking to another manager sonny came in and told all his coworkers that shes being fucking ridiculous, not realizing i was standing there. I own a Chrysler 2008 Town & Country, which I regularly service at Security Dodge Chrysler GEM. This vehicle has both a lifetime powertrain warranty and a maximum care lifetime wrap (added to the lifetime powertrain). On Saturday, April 30th I had the vehicle serviced for its NYS inspection. It passed the inspection, but the service representative noticed that my lifetime powertrain warranty was expired. I spoke with Bill Davolio (the service Director) to find out how a lifetime powertrain warrantee could expire. He explained that this warranty requires an inspection to be performed every 5 years in order to be maintained. I explained that I had never been told this before, and I would gladly have the inspection done right now. I also explained that at the point of sale I was told that my maximum care lifetime wrap superseded my lifetime powertrain warranty. He instructed me to contact Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997, and have them agree to reinstate the warranty if he performs the inspection. He said that I should insist on speaking to a supervisor. He gave me his card and said to call him back after that point in the process. I did this on 4/30/16 as soon as I left the dealership. At 11:26 AM I spoke with Aleshia, who told me that my warranty could not be reinstated, and I could not speak to a supervisor at that time. She assigned a case number to my call (case #29201612). Chrysler's policy is to request a supervisor call-back which is fulfilled in 1 business day. Since that was a Saturday, 1 business day would be by Monday, May 2nd. I never received that call back on Monday. Other representatives advised me to call again on Tuesday, May 3rd (at 9:30) and demand to speak with the supervisor assigned to the case. I did this, and was met with a lie. While on the phone with Kristin at 9:35 AM on 5/3/16, I was told that the supervisor had called me back and left a voicemail at 9:32 that morning. After getting off the phone with Kristin, I checked both my cell and home voicemails, and found no message. After calling back to discuss this with the supervisor, a representative named Daniel (at 12:05 PM on 5/3/16) told me that he worked in a different office and would have to transfer me. He transferred me instead to an office in Canada, who had to transfer me back to the US. I finally spoke to a different supervisor named John, who said that they would not agree to reinstating the warranty. He said that I am a regular customer of Security Dodge Chrysler GEM, and that I should speak further with Bill Davolio since that service center that did not remind/suggest this necessary service. I had Bill Davolio's card, and he had mentioned calling him back after I had started the process, so that was what I did. I left him a voicemail at 1:10 on 5/3/16, and another one later in the day. I called again on 5/4/16, and left another voicemail. I tried calling the regular service counter on 5/5/16, and requesting to speak with him. I was told that he was in a meeting, but they took my name and number to have him call me back. I still have not received a return phone call from Bill Davolio. My 5-year powertrain inspection should have been done on within 60 days of October 30, 2013. I have my service receipt from my 2013 NYS inspection performed at Security Dodge Chrysler GEM. On this receipt there is an area that says, "NEXT RECOMMENDED SERVICE: 30000 MILE SERVICE." Why didn't Security Dodge Chrysler GEM list my powertrain inspection in this area of the receipt? Why did I never receive the 1 business day supervisor call back that is Chrysler's policy? Why has Bill Davolio still not called me back? I am a loyal Chrysler customer. Beside this vehicle, I own a 2005 Jeep Liberty. I regularly service my vehicles at Chrysler service centers, and have the receipts to prove it. Why is Chrysler treating me this way? read more

Security Dodge in Amityville is terrible, they sold me a brand new Jeep which had a major safety defect. Rear wheels locked up while I was driving highway speed and nearly caused a major accident. Sales manager John LaFrancesca refused to offer me a buyout or a lease termination, and he then accused me of trying to intentionally sabotage the vehicle. When I told the dealership that I didn't want the jeep back because I wasn't given any explanation for what caused this defect , Service manager Wendi Berke misworded my statement about the near accident in the initiall service report, and I made her change it because I am reporting them to the NHTSA, she then told me that if I didn't return the rental vehicle that was given to me, they would report it as stolen. They then told me that if the jeep wasn't driven off the lot, they would charge me storage fees. I want the public to be made clear of how poorly and unprofessionally this situation was handled by numerous members of this dealership, and I will be reporting them to numerous government agencies. read more

They first said No problem 4 weeks later said it was not coverd under my warranty ( I bought the truck new from Farmingdale dodge who was now out of business ) There is many stories about rear axle differential failure on the net. They told me I need a new axle. quoted me 5k for the repair. I had the truck towed to an axle shop they fix it for $1500-that was At 50 k miles , I now have 115 k miles running great. Dodge Corporate later posted my issue as a recall, they did reimburse me for the $1500 but not the cost for the towing. The amount of bulshit they handed me over 4 weeks , I called like every other day never got an answer , until it was no. They should have covered it, as Dodge covers it. The worst. On a side note while I was down there to try to get an answer another Dodge customer who was getting Factory service had there car stolen from the lot. Total incompetence . Thieves and liars ... They lied to me the second I walked through the door. I was there to trade in my truck . So this salesman named Lewis was showing me cars and I found one a 2009 and he said it's still under warranty for 3 more years , I thought that was odd . But we began to sit and draw up the paperwork (2pm) . My truck had a book value of $12,000 they gave me 7000 after battling forever (that one is on me cause I settled ). Then the warranty wasn't what the salesman said it was only 60days or 3000 miles then they had me there for 8 more hours after 7 hard inquiries to my credit score they pushed me through as they were closing , had me sign the paperwork only to run back and add numbers to the original contract for me to pay for additional warranty for 3500.00 dollars more and somehow added an additional 3000.00 to my finance papers . So off to court we go... rotten to the core. Not to mention the insane dealer fees of 1100.00 . And another 1000.00 fee plus car was more than the price they advertised. read more

I had to bring my Jeep Liberty in to have the auto-start function fixed. Checking in was quick and easy, and they got right to work on my car. Within 10 minutes they had diagnosed the problem, but it was work that they would have to contract out. In the interest of saving me time and money, the service representative, a very nice man named Chris, gave me the name and address of the alarm repair company. He voluntary cut out the middleman (himself) in order for me to receive cheaper and faster service. This place has Horrible customer service. I had driven over 50 miles to this establishment to inquire and test drive a pre-owned vehicle. Let me first start off by stating that the salesman "Joe" kept bombardin me to inform me of different financing options, even after I sternly told him that I was going to purchase the car cash. After a bit of back and forth establishing a final sales price. I placed a deposit down on the car to reserve it. The following day I received a call from Tony the Preowned sales manager informing me that the car had severe transmission issues, beyond repair and that I would receive a full refund for my deposit. I ultimately did get my refund but unfortunately I had to make the long trek to the dealership and speak with the manager. I get that they didn't want to sell a car with transmission issues but it seems a bit crazy to me that they would offer a car for sale and determine a selling price without a thorough inspection. In closing I truly believe that this car did not have any issues, however they sold it to another customer in which paid the asking price or and more. Definitely will not be going back to that dealership. read more

I wish there was a negative star I could provide. THEY called me to purchase my car...I explain what I was looking for and they did not have it. They offer me $19.4k over the phone, and I tell Lyndsey that GMC has already offered me more. She says come over so Scott can see it to get a better price. I explain to her my son is disabled and will be with me so we could coordinate...we set a time. I drive 25 minutes and arrive at the time agreed. I cal from outside when I arrived and didn't reach her so I left a message, I call again and get Michelle (who I find out later is the manager) who gives me all sorts of reasons why $17k is all they can do. I explained my conversation with Lyndsey and these sleazy dirtbags don't even look at the car after driving 25 minutes, after I had an appointment...the typical BAIT AND SWITCH used car dealer slime sleazy nonsense. Avoid these people at all costs. Waste of time. Oh, then I call back to get a manager to explain why they should expect a complaint from me and who gets on the phone...Michelle!!
