I stopped in Sedano's because I needed some essentials. The place is well organized and clean. I was able to find what I needed, although with much less variety than I would have liked. I was surprised they had such a small selection of bread. I looked at their pre-made salads and they looked less than desirable. I bought a couple frozen foods and a bit of fruit. I left without bread and they also didn't have the butter I like. I don't shop at any Sedano's often. I am glad they are around because it gives us more choices and they happen to be in out of the way locations I am sometimes around. The cashier was not too friendly. Parking was easy. read more

As the facts leading to my visit to this particular store are the same that have lead me to their others stores, I'm going to do a little repeating. I decided to throw a little party, and when I do I always like to do so with a culinary theme. Probably stemming from the craziness within me I decided upon a Peruvian theme for my food. I had a great recipe for a traditional Peruvian ceviche but when I went shopping for the ingredients, horror of horrors, I ended without being able to locate Peruvian corn. I tried Publix, Winn Dixie and a number of nearby ethnic markets but no luck. Fortunately I was given the tip of trying Sedano's Supermarket No 35. I had thought Sedano's Supermarket No 35 would be little more ethnic hole in the wall of a market, but when I arrived I was stunned. It turned out to be a huge full-fledged super market. Best of all, I found its shelves loaded with all sorts of ethnic food items. Though mostly of Latin and South America, from all over the world plus everything at reasonable prices. I had little difficulty locating Peruvian corn, but when I did, there were so many types and varieties of it, I was lost. But fortunately while standing in the aisle, as if sent to me by a culinary god, a familiar face of a local Peruvian chef showed up and thankfully guided me in making proper selections. Though Sedano's isn't anything of a particular great supermarket I have to say I'm a Four Star fan of it as it carries so many otherwise difficult to find varieties of ethnic foods. I went to the one in Hialeah. Im having a little get together at my house this weekend and want to serve Pan con Lechon y Yuca, Arroz, beans and beer. I got 21lbs of Pork Shoulder on the bone for $0.69 a pound!!! Thats is going to be some good sandwiches. Where else can you get enough food to serve 15- 20 people for under $40 There are three sedanos within four blocks to the one I went to but the one on Palm ave. is the only one that has been refurbished. I never thought I would be so impressed with Sedano's but I have been. It is right across the street from one Publix, just two miles away from another and right down the street from a Winn-Dixie. So why come to Sedano's? First of all its really big, clean and the employees are very nice. OK, so most don't speak English, but you can get by if you try. They are still super nice. The selection of Latin American vegetables and products are rivaled by none. This has also been the only place where I have been able to find the replacement carafe for my Mr. Coffee espresso maker (not even Bed, Bath and Beyond has it). Also the prepared foods in the deli section are fresh and delicious. Need a copy of a key? Yes, Jerry's is right at the entrance and he is just the sweetest guy around. I get all my keys there. The best part is that no matter what time, what day I have shown up, it is never ever super packed like Publix. Nice! read more

This is a very clean and much newer Sedano's Supermarket compared to the rest of the supermarket chain in Miami. For those of you who don't know what Sedano's is, it is the most popular Latin American supermarket in Miami-Dade, often competing with Bravo Supermarket and Tropical Supermarket in its genre and it is mighty enough to also compete with Publix. But I'm not really rating this supermarket for the grocery, since this is not my favorite supermarket. This Sedano's has a special place on my map for having a great deli. In particular, the Pan con Bistec, a Steak Sandwich that is a stable of Miami Cuban cuisine. Also, just as a note, most Sedano's don't offer the pan con bistec from the deli. Here, for less than $5, you can order a huge one, and the friendly old lady behind the counter would hustle off to get the ingredients while rattling off her tongue numerous Cuban drama stories to keep you entertained. If she didn't have the ingredients on hand, she would go all over the supermarket for them - fresh tomatoes from the produce, freshly cut steak from the meat department, freshly baked bread from the bakery, and the list goes on. I would just sit on a chair at one of the available tables by the deli, and muse at how she's so lucky on being able to access individual ingredients for a sandwich from a vast supermarket that she works within. People would not mind her as she's doing her business, and I'm wondering why I've never seen this before in American grocery stores! It certainly has a mom and pop feel (and I'm not sure if it is because of her walking around the supermarket getting the ingredients to make me the sandwich or because of the numerous stories that she wants to share with her customers (in Spanish, btw)). Anyways, the pan con bistec came out to be the best I've had in Miami. And I have no reason to think why the other sandwiches at this place would not be good. And like I said, for a good price! Whenever I'm back in Doral, and I'm hungry for a sandwich while I'm short on cash, I'll make a stop at Sedano's. Also, regarding to this Sedano's, I've seen more Venezuelan products here than in any other Sedano's. It's only here where I've seen the bakery offering pan de jamon and cachitos. And it's only here where I can find frozen hallacas, several brands of tequeños, pirulin, cachapas mix, chicha, Venezuelan chocolate candies, and even more! Terrible customer service specially at the cafeteria. Went in sat to buy breakfast a lady by the name of Eva attended me. She was so rude and treated me so bad. My order was all round and she made me wait for my things until she was done with the guy behind me. I dont know if is because im not Venezuelan or she plain didn't like me, but the person behind me she call papi and everything and was super nice to him of course he was Venezuelan. This Sedanos is always clean and organize. But the main reason I shop here is for produce, they have a huge selection and the prices are much lower than anywhere else when it comes to fruits, vegetables and spices. read more

Went to their deli First there was no large variety of food in the display area. Employee told me there don't have much on Sunday. The employee was not too attentive she was looking away from me while I spoke with her which I found disrespectful and unprofessional. As I began ordering she walked away and told a young girl to take over. The girl was more involved in texting on her phone than taking my order. All in all Sedanos is a great place to shop but these two employees need improvement. read more

After living in Miami for several years, in el Doral I have always shopped at Sedanos. Their meat, vegetables, fruits, and ethnic products are as good and varied as it gets. I moved to Indiana and I have an urgent need to run to Sedanos to get my Aloe dieter's tea. my peruvian corn, hot peppers, yellow potatoes, etc. The Marsh, Kroggers, and Meijers have no comparison to a small Doral Super store like Sedano's where you can find in a one stop shop everything from wine, to hot food, fresh baked bread, ethnic products, produce, and even the skillets and pots you cook with every day. I have experienced better, unfortunately I have purchased twice and the food has been rotten. First fruits and yogurt with the right expiration date and when opened the container, the fruits were bad. Last Monday, February 4, I purchased a chicked with expiration date Sept 2013, I opened the package and some wired smell was felt, I cooked it and on the first bite I almost vomit. It is unbearable that a big chain of supermarket like this one where so many hispanics tend to shop for its ethnic food and two out of three times we have purchase food at Sedano located at Doral, the food have been rotten is inconceiveable. Be careful they put product mixed with the one on special price, then on the check out you get charged at regular price, its already happen to me, and then the manager that only speak Spanish language very rude, tell you that you got the wrong product. After I showed her that the product is on the shelf with only one price the special, she insisted that it was not on sale and did not remove the product from the shelf, so they are falsely advertise product on sale and not give the sale price.
