It's a neat thing to see. You can tour it on your own for about 30 minutes and see and do all there is to see and do. That all happened in a matter of 5 minutes and I got a text with a picture of my name on the reservation. When we arrived (we stayed the night in Brenham) there was a person with a list and we had paid a deposit for our tickets. She ran the rest and then we parked and walked in. It was a super cool experience because it's so random and also an hour and some change outside of Houston. My kid and my husband loved it and so did I.

This was my first time using your service, and my wife and I were genuinely excited about the convenience of not having to drive to the casino. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by significant issues with the bus's air conditioning. Nearly an hour into the trip, the driver informed us that he had contacted his supervisor about the malfunctioning air conditioning. We were told that we could turn back, but no replacement bus would be provided. Given how far we had already traveled, no one felt it made sense to return, so the trip continued in extremely uncomfortable conditions. After spending five hours in the casino, we fully expected that the air conditioning issue would have been addressed before our return. Instead, we were told that the system was known to be completely nonfunctional. This was especially concerning because the bus was filled with senior citizens, including my wife and me.

The outings last 45 minutes and cover 3 miles of waterfront, so they're easy to squeeze in on a busy day of sightseeing in the Downtown Historic Strand Seaport Area. On this tour, you'll be able to see Galveston's waterfront attractions, like Pier 21, 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, and the S.S.Selma while learning about some of the harbor's history. As a veteran, I was most impressed with the history of the S.S. Selma. Fun facts: The Selma is a 7500 ton reinforced concrete tanker built in Mobile, Alabama, was launched on June 28, 1919. The ship was one of several concrete ships conceived and designed during World War 1. Construction was not completed until the war ended. The ship had a length 420 ft., a beam of 54 ft. and a draft with full cargo of 26 ft.. and loaded displacement was 13,000 tons. This vessel marked the first use of shale aggregate expanded in rotary kilns for lightweight structural concrete. The tour guides were both entertaining and knowledgeable. This place ideally works best in groups of 5, but we saw many combinations of families, friends, date nights, etc. We simply reserved online, checked in at the desk, put our stuff in a locker, scanned our wristbands, then went crazy trying all of the different game options. There is a variety of teamwork based games, competitive individual games, strategy, physical, speed, and mind games available. My personal favorites were mega grid, sequence, asteroids, and basketball. I won't give them all away though because that's part of the fun is seeing what all Activate has to offer. Overall, Activate is guaranteed to be a good time. My friend group can get competitive so we got into it for sure. My only small complaint here is that when this place gets busy, you'll have to wait for a room to open up. Come during off peak times and it's literally endless fun, enjoy!
