The process began with excellent communication from the office before any work was even scheduled; they provided quotes in a timely manner that were easy to understand and fit perfectly within my budget. What impressed me most was that they use only quality equipment, and Israel took the time to review both what I needed and what I didn't need, which was equally important to me. Israel and his team can be counted on to show up right on schedule and complete the work in a timely manner. The installation itself is top-quality, with a lot of care going into strategic placement to ensure total coverage. Before any work started, Israel walked through the property with me and openly listened to my needs before deciding on the final camera placements. Additionally, they are respectful of your home and animals while working. they take care to close gates and doors when coming in and out which was important to me. Once the installation was complete, he tested the entire system, ensured all cameras were adjusted properly, and then personally went over how to use the system. I'm the type of person who asks a lot of questions about projects before, during, and after, and Israel and his team made sure that I fully understood everything before wrapping things up.     First, let me say that I am writing this review after many attempts to contact the company with…read moreneither an email reply or a return phone call. I purchased the Home8 360 security system approximately 8 months ago and I paid over $200 for each system and I bought two of them. About 14 days ago the system started to act up and stopped working. Almost immediately after purchasing the system I had a problem with it just after they did some of their automatic updates, however, after I phoned them a couple of times all of a sudden my system rebooted and I only know that because I was sitting next to the base when it happened. No one ever called or responded to those messages either but at least it started back working. This time the first indication that something was wrong was the fact that I would "arm" the system when I leave the house and at some point during the day it would go off on its own. I called the company and once again I got their answering machine so I left a message. From my previous experiences I knew that no one would return my call so I immediately sent an email to the customer service link on their website. After 24 hours without a reply I reviewed the packaging and found another customer service email address and I emailed them. Finally, I received a pre-generated email reply that stated that a "ticket" had been created however their "system is completely safe" and I should send them screenshots of me having set the alarm as if I had done something wrong or was lying . I replied stating that I set the alarm the same way all the days that it did NOT work that I had previously set it when I first got the system and it appeared to be working. Despite the fact that they seemed to be putting the onus on me to prove that I was telling the truth I had no problem sending them screenshots because I actually had them to send. I responded immediately asking for an email address to send them because despite their request for "proof" the online form does not allow for attachments. TO THIS DAY I HAVE NEITHER RECEIVED A REPLY REGARDING WHERE TO SEND THE PROOF NOR ANY RESPONSE REGARDING THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. Up until the time I decided to write a review I have checked the "ticket" to see what the status was every day and to see if it had been assigned to anyone . I have a video as well as screenshots of me walking through the house after the alarm had been set, going in and out of my closets, continuing to walk in front of each of the cameras and not only did the alarm not go off but I didn't even receive an alert telling me that someone (me) was in my home. After an additional 24 hours of sending yet another update, I received an email stating that my "issue" had been sent to management for review. That was approximately 14 days ago and I have not yet to receive a telephone call or an email to follow up regarding the fact that I spent over $400 for a system that stopped working after approximately eight months. Also, I know for a fact they have absolutely no intention of contacting me because yesterday after checking the status again of what was originally an 'open' ticket (even though nobody ever contacted me) yesterday the status said 'closed'. I find this absolutely appalling! The systems are not cheap and when you have a system that is supposed to make you feel secure or at least is supposed to monitor your home and it does work in such a short period of time AND to have the company not value you as a customer enough to even contact you is wrong! I need to let as many people know as possible about Home8. I certainly wish I had come across a review from someone who had previously been a customer of Home8 prior to me purchasing their product.     I had no issues with the alarm service itself. But I do have major issues with shady business…read morepractices. I do realize that ADT corporate is different from installers like DPS and my complaint is more with corporate, but I feel it is my duty to inform potential DPS customers what it is like to work with ADT. DPS did my initial install and while they have been professional and courteous, they are attached to a deceitful company. Last fall, I decided to sell my house. I wanted to upgrade my control panel to an all-digital panel as part of sprucing up the house for sale. A tech came out to check out my equipment. He quoted me a price for the new panel and came out the next day to install it. I have now moved and called ADT to cancel my service. I was informed that when I upgraded my control panel, I signed a 2 year contract. Well, I was not informed of this by the tech. Did I read the purchase document for the panel? No. I'm admitting fault on that - but I was told it was just for the panel. Again, I told ADT (both in my initial reach out and in person with the tech) that I was doing this to upgrade for a MOVE. I made it clear I was LEAVING. Why on earth would I agree to a 2-year contract extension? After more than an hour on the phone with ADT trying to get it canceled (I was transferred 5 times) I was told I got the penalty reduced to "$22/month for 12 months." Before I signed (as I was in a hurry as I was at work and had already spent more than hour trying to get a simple contract canceled), I asked the account manager if there were any other hidden fees associated with the contract. He said no. Imagine my surprise the next day when a self-install unit arrived at my door with a pricetag posted to my account for ~$400. Once again, the account manager knew I was living with family and did not want or need an alarm. I do believe I was intentionally set up twice - and fell for it. That is on me. It's on ADT that I was set up. Nefarious business practices. I reported this to the BBB and a day or so later, I got an offer from ADT to reduce my penalty by $500. (The penalty was originaly showing as $1,300.) So now it's down to $700 but I am not giving up on principle. I was a customer for more than 8 years. I paid every bill on time every month. When I buy my new home, you can bet for certain it will NOT be with ADT.
