Dan has been incredibly helpful as a third opinion in a disagreement of the quality of the sewer in the selling/buying process of a home. The sewers were scoped twice in 12 hours, once by a company paid for by the buyers and once by a company paid for by the sellers. The buyers company said there was several thousands of dollars of damaged that needed to be repaired, the sellers company said there are no issues and all pipes are fine. Dan was able to give an unbiased opinion of the video that was really able to end the disagreement. Although I did not use his service, he was the most helpful and thorough person in this whole ordeal. Dan did a GREAT job with the sewer scope. He was very friendly and helpful. He showed up a bit early, and called to make sure it was OK to get started ahead of time. He was very clean and tidy (removing shoes / cleaning up after himself). Whole job only took about 30min. He showed me the video as he went, and explained things very clearly. His recommendations were easy to understand. He even helped me find the main drain in my basement, which is something a bunch of other contractor were unable to do. Great service. Dan was great! After reading all the reviews, I called him for a second opinion Wednesday after a big name plumbing company had come out and given us an $18k list of things that absolutely had to be repaired on our sewer that was backed up. Since all he does is the scope, he has no vested interest. On the call he spent 15 minutes reassuring me that it was probably fine and that even if ALL the repairs the other company claimed needed to happen, it should only be $8-10k, not 18. He said he could come over Saturday and was at my house early. He scoped the line and showed me everything that may have been issues, but overall concluded that unless we were planning on selling (then there would be 2 repair spots not the entire line) there was nothing there that was super critical besides a thorough root clean out. My family has been looking to purchase our first home in the Denver Metro area in an intensely competitive, frustrating, nerve-wracking seller's market. While the process has not been necessarily enjoyable, Dan at See Inside Sewer Scope made the home buying process much more enjoyable and stress-free. We ended up using him for two different houses we went under contract on, and his expertise stopped us from making one poor purchasing decision in a frantic market and also gave us confidence in our decision to proceed with our most recent contract. House #1: After going under contract on an owner-seller house, our buyer's agent gave us a list of recommended sewer inspectors, including Dan. I called Dan on a Friday, and he quickly worked with me to synchronize a time on Tuesday to perform a sewer scope at the same time that our home inspection would be conducted. Dan showed up on Tuesday with a great attitude and went straight to work. After he completed the sewer scope, he sat down with me and explained his findings and recommendations. Within a couple hours, he emailed me and our buyers agent the formal written report and a private Youtube video of the sewer scope. The video was extremely detailed and of excellent quality, and he made sure to take footage of the basement and spoke the address out loud before going into the sewer to show that he was not reusing old footage like I've read some disreputable inspectors do. During the entire sewer scope video, he verbally walked us through what he was finding, the causes, and the remedies. Luckily for us, he found some common root backup issues and gave us plenty of evidence to present to the owners in hopes of negotiating a cleaning, but the sewer cleaning coupled with major issues our home inspector discovered prevented us from purchasing the house because the owners refused to negotiate and still wanted top-dollar for a highly overvalued house. House #2: A month later, we went under contract on another house, and the one we hope is our keeper. Again, I called Dan on a Sunday, and he text me back with a Monday appointment opening, telling me he couldn't talk because he was out with his family. The fact that he even took the time to respond immediately while he was enjoying his Sunday off with family says a lot about his character. He showed up on Monday in the same good spirit and conducted the inspection with the same professionalism and thorough care as the previous one, and we had the formal written report and video within a few hours. Fortunately, he did not find any issues with the sewer aside from it needing a cleaning soon. Overall Impression: I've read horror stories online about dishonest sewer inspectors who try to trick buyers into hiring them or their buddies to do unnecessary sewer repairs. However, Dan proved himself to be an extremely fair, honest inspector. He didn't charge additional fees like many inspectors, he made sure that we could trust his inspection through a professional report and video, and he did not try to sell us anything in addition to the sewer scope. He leaves me and my family extremely confident that we are making the correct decision on the largest investment of our lives. While the home buying process has beaten us up pretty badly, we feel confident in the condition of our future home thanks to Dan. I gladly recommend him for all sewer inspection needs and sewer-related questions. read more

Time to update my review.... Now, I have used Dan's services at my son's new house, and just as I expected, the guy is truly outstanding! He is professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. We had a very complicated problem with multiple sewer lines coming out of a little old one bathroom house - one from the bathroom, one from the kitchen and one from the laundry room (crazy, I know!) Just as weird, once the line gets to the alley it appears to be shared with several neighbors before it goes into the city line, and wow is the line a mess! Dan knew enough about the kind of old construction in this neighborhood to help us identify our issues and also helped suggest the best path forward. He even made a couple of trips to make sure we got all the information we needed to move forward. He is a genuinely nice guy with a great business model, and I wouldn't think of calling anyone else if I need this type of service in the future. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Haven't used Dan (yet) but I'm giving him 5 stars anyway because he earned them with his patience while I scheduled, not one, but TWO appointments with him that I had to cancel because I jumped the gun and didn't have my act together on this end. I am selling a house and the potential buyers used another company that just wanted a quick sale. After reading all the outstanding reviews for this company, I called Dan just for some advice on a sewer main line repair I was being told I needed. Dan correctly told me they were being dishonest, referred me to a different company (who proved the first company was lying), and saved me a ton of money. Unbelievable service. We were having issues with our toilets backing up. Called a local "rooter" place that had a $95 "special". They came out, and said they were "running into something" in my pipes and would have to send out one of their guys to put a scope in there to see how bad the problem was. He wanted to charge me $295 for the scope service alone, but assured me that they could do all the plumbing work and were the cheapest in town by far. When I told them I could get the scope done by someone else for half that much, he went outside, called his supervisor, and came back saying they could give me the commercial rate of $150. This is when I decided I had seen enough of this outfit, and called See Inside Sewer Scope. Dan explained over the phone what might be the issue, then scheduled a time to come and do the scope. He was on time (even a little early). What a great guy. He listened to my "symptoms", brought in his scope, and showed me the video in real time of the scope snaking its way down my pipes. There was nothing blocking the line at all, and we determined the issue was simply the toilets were old, needed to be cleaned for calcium build up, etc. or replaced, and we would be good to go. Can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that if we would have proceeded with the "other guys" (can't say their name because after they left they gave me a receipt with fine print on the back saying that I agreed not to disparage them online, which was a red flag itself). Let's just say they were called Rooter City or something like that... Anyway, long story short is Dan at See Inside Sewer Scope is THE MAN! I would call him in without any hesitation for any sewer inspection job!!! Too bad there aren't more businesses that operate with the friendliness, honesty, and integrity that Dan does! Called a day before to schedule a scope..Dan told me Noon the next day on the phone when I spoke with him. 11:15 the next day I called him back to confirm he would be able to scope the sewer line and would be there. He started saying "well I don't even have an address for that one". He was right, he didn't. I don't know why you would say your available to do a scope, not ask for an address, then when I call to confirm you act like I didn't do my due diligence.
