We (my fiancé (26) and myself (25)) had scheduled an appointment with the service team at Seelye. We had purchased our F150 the previous year and needed the brakes to be looked at as it was squeaking. The morning when we arrived it was very chaotic, the workers were obviously unhappy. As we waited to be helped I watched as they frantically were shuffling papers and such. We gave them the keys around 8am. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At around 10am they texted us, letting us know the truck was ready. We drove back to get it and were met with more unhappy chaos, and given keys then the worker, Jason, walked away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At this time Jason had mentioned that there was confusion in the back on where the keys were located and that he found them on the "not done" board. When we walked up to our truck we realized they were NOT our keys. We had to walk back in and ask for our keys. We were met by a different service worker who got us the correct keys. We drove home and almost an hour later I received a call from them that the truck was actually NEVER looked at. This is extremely disappointing and unsettling. They blamed it on a busy drop-off this morning. However I dropped my car off at the time on my appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I mentioned the key mishap to the manager on duty he stated that "this doesn't happen often" and that he could remember the last time this happened "six months ago".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told him I do not trust that my keys would not be given to someone else and some people would not be as honest and potentially steal my truck! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They apologized, but no one took accountability or acknowledged that this was extremely unprofessional and wrong.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am disappointed to say that I do not feel comfortable, or welcomed, at Seelye Ford and we will not be able to return. read more

I will never be back! I took my Explorer in for repairs covered by the extended warranty I purchased. I was quoted 8 hours of work that needed to be done. Much to my surprise, they had my vehicle for TWO weeks. The repairs were done after one week, but they would not release my vehicle to me until the warranty company paid them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was offered a rental that was covered by my warranty, but they didn't communicate it was only for part of the time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Any updates that I was given was because I asked/pushed for them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I called the warranty company myself to find out they had not submitted everything necessary to be reimbursed for the rental. While I understand dealing with outside warranty companies could be frustrating, I still came to Ford for service and I brought them my business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What I received was minimal communication, a lack of empathy, and a huge lack of effort.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes, the repairs were done, but I could have driven a little bit farther down the road for a lot less hassle and MUCH better customer service. They did let me know that they spent an hour and 45 minutes on the phone regarding the warranty, but that's their job - what they are paid to do. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I, too, spent time on the phone with the warranty company to figure out that they needed additional information - what I am not paid to do.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The icing on the cake (and back to my frustration about communication) was paying my deductible and them telling me my total, and then looking at my credit card receipt to see it charged for $30 more...I asked what that was for and was told it's a surcharge and that they charge an extra 3% for credit card purchases. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if there were other payment methods to avoid that, and he said, yeah, cash or debit card? Well, had he communicated this before running my card, I would have chosen the alternative thus avoiding the fee[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I purchased a used car from this dealership. I test drove it car ran good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked to take it home for the night to have it looked at and to drive to make sure there were no issues. Was told no I couldn't do that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bought and drove it home it ran fine. Drove it about 100 miles in a couple days. It sat for about 2 days, when I went to drive it again the car started driving like crap. All of a sudden it says on the dash that it was out of oil, it was overheating and felt like the transmission was going into gears really rough. Suddenly everything was wrong with it. I feel this dealership got it running good enough to misrepresent that it ran good when in reality they were covering up major issues just to get it sold. I'm rating 1 star as it's not an option to rate 0. Unfortunately, this dealership is an absolute scam and artificially boosts their reviews by making customers fill out reviews on a variety of different platforms (Yelp, Google, Carfax, etc.) while you are doing purchase paperwork and sitting in their office waiting for everything to be finalized on the car you just bought. Unfortunately, they do not stand behind anything they sell you either, even if it is certified pre-owned. If anything happens they will blame it on either you or "Kia Corporate." If anything happens that the dealership should take responsibility for they will direct you to them instead. I bought a certified pre-owned 2020 vehicle from them in 2022 with only 13,000 miles on it and have had several issues with the dealership being dishonest or not taking responsibility since then. I asked specifically if the vehicle was in the lawsuit for not enough anti-theft features and they assured me it was not and that they did not have to perform the recall for anti-theft features and warning stickers on the windows that it had them. Then it was stolen out of my driveway. When the vehicle was recovered and brought in they charged us for all of the repairs, even after admitting that this model was included in the lawsuit for not having enough anti-theft features and finally installing them and put warning stickers on the windows. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then, I noticed (and took videos) that the windshield was leaking when it rained and water was pouring into the driver's side near the pedals. I called and called to get an appointment (they will never return your calls or emails, you will have to go in person if you ever want to talk to the service department).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our insurance claims adjustor inspected it and said that the windshield was not seated correctly and was something that they definitely should have caught before selling it certified pre-owned with their multi-point inspection and that therefore insurance would not cover it either. But, the dealership accused me of incorrectly installing an aftermarket windshield by myself and that I would have to pay for the new windshield and any replacement of corroded wires under the hood which were shorting out and cutting the engine at that point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They only backed down from this accusation when my husband talked to them and he turned down their offer to "split the cost" of the repair 50/50 with us, even though the car and loan are both in my name, not his. They are incredibly misogynistic and will gaslight you to avoid responsibility for any mistakes on their end.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today I brought my car in after being emailed about being due for a routine inspection service based on its mileage now being over 50,000. When I dropped the car off they could not find what I was bringing it in for in their system.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I read the email to them confirming what the appointment was for in the confirmation email from them in their own words: "PERFORM KIA 360 VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INSPECTION. THIS IS A FREE INSPECTION PERFORMED ON HOIST TO INSPECT WEARABLE ITEMS AND IS IN NO WAY A DIAGNOSTIC OF THE VEHICLE. ROAD TEST ISN'T PERFORMED DURING THIS INSPECTION AND VEHICLE FAULTS AREN'T DIAGNOSED." Then I was told that this was not an appointment for a free 360 inspection, and that I would be charged for it unless I purchased an oil change from them (it's not due for an oil change). I also had in the appointment for them to check out another possible corroded wire in the speaker on the side from the previous leak, but I ended up just cancelling the appointment because they said just to diagnose the speaker wire it would be a $220 diagnostic charge. Yet, back when the leak issue was initially resolved they said they would keep a note on file in the maintenance records for this car that they would cover any future corrosion issues related to the leak that they didn't catch the first time. Tried to charge me 1000 more than I was quoted and wouldn't even bother looking into it until I showed him the paper I had with the quote 4. Car has the exact same issues I went into there to fix and I had to take it back a week later 5. Car was having problems on the expressway and they didn't even bother to test drive it on the expressway to see if the problem was fixed. Brought a car with failing transmission and they fixed it. After getting the car back, there were several problems that started and we were still charged for an inspection and for it to be fixed. I have been a Don Seeyle Ford customer for more than 20 years. I never even haggled over price when I bought my cars because I believed in their integrity. I bought a 2020 Kia Soul from them in December of 2022. In the 15 months I have owned it, I have had 4 major repairs - a cam shaft, two, that's right TWO transmissions, and now the car is in the shop because it needs a new engine. It has less than 77,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop for 3 weeks because, I'm told, the engine is on back order. I have requested, and demanded a loaner but I'm either ignored or told none is available. I asked the salesman who sold me the Soul to make it right by selling me a different vehicle at a price that would keep my payment around where it is with the Soul and was told the financing is out of their hands. 20 years I have been buying cars from them, and the 1st time there is a problem, they treat me like I don't even matter. I just stopped into the dealership today because I am thinking about buying a Mustang GT5. I was approached by Cody and I told him I wanted to test drive a Mustang GT 5 with an automatic transmission, and he said "You mean the GT 500?" I told him no, and asked him where the Mustangs were on the lot and he said, "Both of them are right out front but they are manual transmissions, and they are just the basic Mustangs". Seriously? You are one of the largest dealerships in the area and you only have 2 Mustangs available for sale? Even more surprising was that Cody just stood there and didn't say another word. I bought a 2019 Ford Escape two years ago. When I refinanced it last month I called Don Seeley Ford and spoke with Mitch in finance and asked them for a refund of my gap insurance that I had financed into the loan. They expedited my request within three or four hours and told me the check would be received within 3 to 4 weeks. The next day I received notification that my husband's paycheck had been severely shorted right before Thanksgiving. I emailed Mitch and asked him if there was any way that this refund could be expedited because I had no money to feed my family for Thanksgiving. He did his magic they cut me a check that day and I'm picking it up in a couple of hours. There are things that every business should always do. There are things that every business can do sometimes. And then there are the things that businesses don't have to do. They just do them because they care. Then instead of letting us look around the salesman wanted to start filling out paperwork and check our credit. We hadn't been there 5 minutes or looked at any cars. WTH. The pushy salesman came close to being punched in the face. Thankful that Ziegler is across the street. Bought a car from them. So, my daughter had a Seelye salesmen show up at her job. She told him 3 times to leave. The his boss texted her, she told him that she didn't like the pushy salesman and the boss said that they weren't pushy just passionate. That's CRAP and so is Seelye. Rob Mason and the team at Seelye Ford made buying my new Ford Explorer a piece of cake. Rob listened to what I wanted and took the time to get me in the right vehicle. We received a little more off the car going through Costco, so if your a Costco member it's worth doing that. Rob and Phil at the dealership are the point men for Costco members. We were not strong armed by the financial guy to get their loan, even though that's the route we took. We had such a bad experience at the Ziegler Dodge dealership we walked away from the car I was going to purchase there. Colleen showed me the service department so I would feel comfortable coming there if I needed anything. Everyone was super friendly there. Then Colleen showed me how to work all the bells and whistles I just bought in the car. The nav system, my climate control, she added my phone and contacts and more. That was so helpful, because I'm one to not read directions. I'd rather you read the directions and showed me what to do. They told me to come in anytime if I needed more help. On top of all that I can come in and get a free car wash anytime. I'll be taking advantage of that too. So needless to say I highly recommend going to Rob for your next car. They were stuck on not changing it back. I had to ask for my very low mileage tire back. Really? It was barely used. Then went back the next day to have the bill changed that took another 2 hours. Very disappointed in this locations service. I had a problem with my car. It was under warranty and they said they would take care of it. Cool, so I asked when they would be able to fix it they told me later that week again awesome! So I went in and they replaced one part. I asked so that's it it's all fixed? They told me no they had to order the other part in . Ok cool but can I drive my car safely now. They said yes it would be about 2000 miles until it ran correctly because the chip they put in would have to "get used to how I drive" Again not a problem I grabbed my keys and left. I get out of the parking lot and it still has the problem where my car is stuck in second gear and can't go over 30 mph. 30 mph... and I was supposed to drive 2000 miles at 30Mph ha no! Which is what I came in to get fixed. I called them back and explained what happened. They said the part would be in in about a month on October 10th. I said ok are you sure I have a trip for a wedding planned on the 16th, so I will need my car done by then. They said yea I'm sure. Ok cool. Now can I get a rental for the time being or what's the plan. They said they could give me a one day rental for one day free. Then it would be $30 a day after that. For a month... are you kidding me. I said no I will figure it out on my own. So I wait and wait and wait... then I finally call (admittedly before October 10th). But I just wanted to see what was going on. The guy I spoke to said they wouldn't have those parts in till the end of November or beginning of December. So now I'm mad. So I call try to see who I can speak to. Leave messages. Ask for other people to get my representative to call me back. This was over the course of a week, maybe 4 phone calls. Nothing. No response until I go in person, and then in person they tell me it'll be here by January. Eventually I went to the ford dealership on portage road. They have the part I need and have it fixed and I'm on my way in about 2 hours. So thank you Portage road ford. I give you 5 stars. I took my car in because it was leaking coolant and the engine light was on. I was quoted $900 to fix a couple of hoses and to replace a battery that I was told was not 100% reliable. Two days later they called back and said now it would be $2100 because they found other things they felt were critical that needed repair as well. I came and picked up the car and the next morning the engine light came back on so I took it back to them the next day. Now they tell me it is in need of further repair and estimate the new cost around $3000. How did they miss all of this the first time? At least I have a new battery and fresh transmission fluid for my car that still has an engine light on. These guys are crooks but they will tell you all day long about their five star rating which they are very proud of. read more

My wife an I went into Seelye Ford on Friday to take a look at a truck I saw online. We were greeted by one of the managers and were luckily introduced to get Adam H as our sales manager. Adam immediately began working with us by showing us the truck we saw online. He answered all of our initial questions and then accompanied us on the test drive. Once we were back he also showed us a few other comparable trucks to ensure we were looking at the right one. We then went over some numbers and thanked him and went home for the evening to review and discuss what we saw. The next day we went back to see Adam and he took us on another test drive and answered more questions. He again showed us another model (new model year) and we decided to move forward with the purchase of the original truck we saw. Adam again helped with getting the pricing and extended warranty aligned by bringing over the other team members to help walk us through the details. We then agreed on price, worked with finance and the new vehicle introduction. Overall this was a very seamless process and appreciate the time Adam spent with us during the buying process. So I'll start by saying that I bought a used vehicle 3 years ago from here and recently when my warranty was up they suggested trading it in and getting a new vehicle because of all the problems it had had with the warranty. So I ended up saying okay and they offered me an amount that was $5,000 less than what I still owed on it. But my sales rep Joe Dughie, said he couldn't help me for a past sales representatives mistake. I will also note that the sales price of the new vehicle was $2,000 higher than what other dealerships were selling it at. Then when I said my complaints about the prices the sales manager Mike Alexander came over to help. He then proceeded to try and get us a better deal so I did get the $2,000 taken off the sales price and a little bit more for my trade in. But he still told me that the finance department could not get a loan because of the negative equity that was attached to my new loan application. So he told me $1,000 down payment was needed , he then proceeded to ask the big boss (I don't know his name) to approve a $500 split to where I pay 500 and they pay 500. This was not approved and it was made very clear that if I did not pay the $1,000 I would not be getting that car. I had also told them that we had no extra money but they said do you have a credit card and suggested that I put it on there. So after spending 5 hours at the dealership I finally gave in and agreed to put the $1,000 on my credit card. I will also include that it came down to the paperwork being signed in front of us that I found out we had to pay $1,000 of gaap insurance that was not included on the previous estimates for the loan balance. So I guess what I'm trying to say in all of this is I didn't leave there happy and satisfied and I will admit that part of me is still disappointed in Ford. I appreciate everything that Mike Alexander did , and also the amount of time that Joe Dughie spent with us. But I just wish the "big boss" had helped us out with such a large amount of money being asked for as a down payment. I will not be buying a car from there again. Because yes it was a past mistake when we got ripped off on our old (used) car. But I feel Ford should have tried better to make up for that mistake and secure the happiness of their customers. read more

Old Review I posted: I felt obligated to post this review hoping will help both Don Seelye Ford and their customers. I bought a Focus ST from this dealership. There was a recall on the wiring of the headlights. Took the car in (Thursday 7:30 am), got a loaner car, got a call 4 hours later (12 PM) saying the car is ready. Oh ,Got a free car wash as well ! So far so good. But came home to see one of the headlights was not seated fully (6:10 PM- it was after they were closed). Called them the next day (8AM Friday), extremely upset cause I didn't feel comfortable going on my road trip the next day. They tried to have me drop the car so they can take a look at it, oh and tried to tell me they didn't touch the headlights (seriously? did I not take it in specifically for the headlight wiring issue?) I explained I cannot leave work AGAIN today and by the way it was your mistake after all. After I made myself clear and they realized that I was/am the worst customer they may have ever had and told them how upset I was with their service and will look into see how I can follow up, I got what I did not expect: They sent a driver to come pick the car up at my work, and dropped it there 2 hours later, car washed AGAIN and GAS TANK FILLED ! ! Now this is what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE. You fix your mistakes without causing any further inconvenience for the customer and make extra effort to keep them happy. Update after a year : But then on my other visits, this story repeated.. Basically they always do something wrong. and try to fix it if you try and notice their mistake ! ! This place has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Started off had a 7:45 appointment on Monday to drop off truck to figure out what the problem was. Paige sitting behind the desk was to involved in letting everyone know about her weekend to help my husband. Finally after 30 minutes he just left because we needed to get to work. Did not hear anything on Monday, no phone call on Tuesday, I called and left a message with service department Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. and as of Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. still no return call. My grandfather bought his Fords at Seelye. My dad did too. When I came of age, I bought my very first car there. Then, 2 more before I moved out of state. After 20+ years away, I've moved back to the Kalamazoo area. When my 2013 Ford hit 80,000 miles recently, I thought it might be a good idea to have a Ford service department take a look at her. I ended up having the engine flushed, oil changed, brake light bulb replaced, new spark plugs, and a new cabin air filter, for a grand total of $348.06 on 1/23/2018. I was initially a little put off that Seelye doesn't offer loaner vehicles for a few hours when you take your car in for repair, but I gave them that one and paid my $30 for a 24 hour rental across the street at Enterprise. They finished the repairs in about 5 hours and I returned my rental and drove home. The next morning, I started my car to warm up and turned the fan to max -- OH, the howling noise it made! I immediately drove to the Service Dept, where they told me the cabin air filter wasn't installed correctly and it should be fine now. An inconvenience, but not the end of the world. A couple of days later, I notice that if I turned the fan to high my entire car started to vibrate and make a loud whirring noise. Back to the dealership! This trip took a couple hours while I waited. The story this time was that the new filter they installed was defective and they re-replaced it. *sigh* Now, I hate confrontation more than your average bear, so I didn't complain. However, a couple days later, I noticed it was still vibrating and making a loud noise with the fan on high. I called 4 times and left 2 voicemails for the service tech I had been working with - with no return call. It's winter, 16 degrees outside, we are expecting ~10" of snow tonight, and I have a trip to northern Michigan planned for the weekend with my kid. Today, 2/8/2018, my husband called management and they were more than happy to have me come back in again. I was there from 12:45-3pm. At about 2:00 the service tech had me come back into the garage and show the mechanic what the problem was. The tech and mechanic both saw and heard the problem and we brainstormed about what to look at. By 3:00 I had to leave to pick up my kid. The service manager and tech both told me they had checked everything, but couldn't find the problem and gave me my keys. NOT FIXED. Not even a little better. I was extremely upset and asked my husband to call and see what could be done. The answer: NOTHING. They can't find it, so it's not a problem. Go on your road trip, with your 8 year old, in a blizzard. Not their problem it the car breaks down, apparently. We are due for a new full size 4x4 pickup and I'll be needing to replace my suv in a year or so. Guess who just lost out on those sales? It's disappointing and heartbreaking that a local company that once instilled such loyalty from their customers really doesn't seem to care in the least anymore. read more

If I have to sum my experience with Seelye Ford using only one word: sleazy! Shortly after purchasing my new car, my girlfriend also wanted to update her car as well. She was eyeing the Ford Escape. Now keep in mind, she was buying the vehicle, I was there for the ride, but eventually became directly involved after picking up a few misinforming answers and explanations. A few other things that came to mind was mentioning something about Ford's Z plan discount (which she has qualified for) is only available if she uses Ford credit. The salesperson also didn't know the model too well, either. Eventually, she was becoming less interested in the Escape after the test drive, saying that it wasn't what she thought, didn't like how it feels, etc. That's when the salesperson became a little pushy, asking things like why she didn't like it, what didn't she like about it, she's not going to find a better option, and would cut here off mid sentence when she attempted to answer the questions. After a few minutes of this, she said "excuse me for just a moment" to the sales person, grabbed my hand and the both of us walked out, saying that it was just too frustrating. read more
