A bunch of crooks, they told me I needed a sensor on my car charged me 113$ told me everything was paid for when the part came they would call. Took 4 months for part to arrive 200$ charge. Get this they figured out they installed the wrong part, put the old part back in. And magically it is working now. But I should feel happy because they are only gonna charge me 35$ more when the right part comes in. Please don't buy a car from these people, shady to the core read more

Been looking for a car for my daughter and Seelye is supposed to be a KIA dealer... both their Kalamazoo and Battle Creek stores have no small KIA's for months now!!!! It's like they can't afford to have the inventory on their lot or something. They had one small Ford Fiesta that we inquired about and when I asked the salesman how much it was, he says "you mean the SRPL" or something like that, I said no, the list price, and he said well it depends on a lot of things... and I said, well what is the list price for the car? He says, you mean the SPRL? I said - I have no idea what that is, what is the asking price for the car... finally like 5 minutes later he says well, it depends on this and that, but the sticker is $18,000. I was ready to scream!!!! Place drove me nuts!!! And they still don't have any small KIA's!!!!! read more

I received a letter from Ford regarding a recall on my vehicle stating my local dealer has received parts and to call and schedule an appointment. I have called every day for the last week and a half and leave messages as there are no humans and the guy that answers the phone is more useless than a phone tree. No one calls me back and if I call, I just get the non-helpful drone who may or may not be human answering the phone. I hear it is as bad at Simmons. This is pathetic. read more

If you're interested in purchasing a car and put a deposit on a credit card you will need to call and call and call to get a refund if you do not end up purchasing the vehicle. It has taken literally a week to get my deposit refunded after 5 phone calls and getting my bank involved. Not to mention the pushy sales antics and the creepy sales manager. I won't go back! When getting work done recently, they refused to honor verbal estimates, and instead wanted to charge amounts higher than any other estimate we had, once it was in the shop. I was only able to get a reasonable price by providing a written estimate from another dealer (which was more than $125 cheaper). When I called for an estimate to get the alternator replaced on our 2004 Ford Escape, the original person told me "High 3's to high 4's". I wanted to make sure I understood him, so I asked, "No more than 500?" To which he answered, "yes". I called a few other places including another Ford dealership which quoted $550, so I called Seelye back and set up an appointment. We dropped the vehicle off the evening before it was scheduled to be serviced, and the service adviser, Amy, asked if we would like them to verify it was the alternator before replacing it. We agreed, and so we left with an estimate for only the diagnosis ($50). Amy said she would call with the full estimate once the diagnosis was done. When Amy called the next morning, the full estimate was ~$725! I didn't understand why it was so much higher, and I told her that I was originally given an estimate of not more than $500. She brushed this aside and didn't care. I also told her that I had other estimates all of which were considerably less, and she responded that they weren't some shabby independent shop and used new genuine Ford parts. I told her that one of the considerably cheaper estimates was from another dealer, and she agreed to match the price if I could get her a written estimate. Thankfully, the other dealer was much more courteous and helpful. The created a written estimate (!$560) and faxed it to Seelye for me. Seelye then matched the price plus the diagnostic charge. When picking up the vehicle, Amy seemed irritated and didn't assist in finding the vehicle or keys after we had paid. It took them about 10 minutes to finally figure out where our vehicle was and bring it around to us. We will take our business elsewhere in the future. read more

Don't do it! I was contacted by the salesman Raymond when I made an online inquiry about several used cars they listed on their website. I was told that all four of them were available to test drive. My daughter doesn't even have her license yet but we decided to start looking for a used car under 10,000 to get her to and from school and work. Raymond told us the cars that we inquired about were still available. When we get there they had one available to show us. The others were either "not even on the lot" as one sales associate put it or they went back into the service center because they were making sure they would sell us a "safe" car. So of course they suddenly now only have available cars 12,999 and up?! Give me a break. Then Raymond proceeds to pressure me about how reliability and my daughter safety are really whats important. When I pushed back Raymond became defensive and even rude. I asked to work with another more reasonable sales associate (if you have to go here ask for Braxton). Honestly, I don't want to be guilted and bullied into spending money I don't want to spend. Its not your money Raymond. Either you have cars I'm interested in or all of its just a bait and switch. Yuck. Best part of it is my husband is about to buy a Brand New extended cab F150 .....guess we wont be it buying at Seeyle. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Duane Davis the general manager acted like an immature child on the phone when discussing the poor service I had performed on my vehicle at Seelye-Wright. The conversation was downright disgusting. He ridiculed and berated me. Customer service is just not in their vocabulary. "Basically not my problem". The service sucked, the customer service sucked, and the salesmen are pushy. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. There are many other hard working honest Americans who will treat you right. My car was on the fritz. Eventually the transmission was going to lock up. Wanted to get a new car before winter hit. I was told by Seelye Ford that mediocre credit was no problem that they can get me into a new vehicle with low payments and a low percentage rate. Come to find out that they couldn't and had to get a used vehicle. I settled on a older impala. Guaranteed me low payments, no brainer there, I received high payments and high percentages. They were nice and said they would fix the things wrong with it before I got it home. The rear defrost wasn't hooked up, the brakes were squeaking, and passenger seat power mechanism didn't work. Happy to have it with all those things fixed, of course I think that they should have been working before they slapped a sticker to buy on it. Since then it has been a few months since I had the car. Granted I only made one car payment and of course more issues wrong. Issues with the power steering "normal for Chevy" all my lights went out on my dash. they fixed or so I thought. Had to bring it back the next day because they went out again but before that it said service the vehicle for airbag. Come on guys if you go in to get your car fixed and pay any kind of money plus your $200 deductible,you expect it to be returned to you fixed. Then the next month the alternator went out. They fixed that at the same time I supposedly had torn down the transmission line from the snow storm we had, which connects to the power steering. Replaced it. $650. Fine get it home and driving the next day the belt came off. It was the wrong part you assholes! It took almost a week to do that job. Get it back and then finally power steering went out. The line wasn't hooked up properly. Another 3 days they kept my car. I don't know if it is just my bad luck or if the guys working at Don Seelye Ford are just that incompetent to work on cars. Not to mention the customer service people are horrible. They don't care you are without a car. They don't call to let you know they started working on it, they are finished or anything of the sort. I call and everytime I leave a message and they don't call til many many hours later or even the next day. Do not buy a car from them at all. It is not worth the hastle. read more

I had been having quit the rough few weeks due to my old vehicle breaking down on me with not much money and pretty bad credit. James worked really hard to get me into a great car! Sleeziest, scummiest car dealership ever. We purchased a 2009 Escape two years ago from this dealership and a few weeks went back to trade it in as we were about to roll over 90,000 miles on the car. The sales guys were not helpful, in fact admitting that we overpaid for the vehicle two years prior. Even though we came back to them and they said YES, you OVERPAYED they were not willing to help us out or correct their mistake. These guys make you think you are buying a car for a great deal but make their money either through interest or some other way. Watch out for the financing guy--- the sales guys will say whatever to lock in a deal and then you go to do the paperwork and they pressure you and make you feel trapped. Save yourself a headache and go to ANY other ford dealership--- or head across the street and see Nate Ecker at harold zeigler. whatever you do, stay away from this sketchy place! We learned our lesson, and it cost is a few thousand dollars, don't make the same mistake we did! read more

Be careful if you're thinking of using Seelye Ford as a place to sell your used car. We had a suggested bid from Auto Trader and were told to take our car to Seelye Ford for them to look at it and issue a check for our car. We were very honest about scratches, dings, etc. They looked the car over and offered us hundreds of dollars less than the Auto Trader quote. They would not negotiate at all. We walked out and took the car to Sunshine Toyota instead. Sunshine Toyota wrote us a check for the full amount of the Auto Trader quote and treated us very well. Save yourself some time and money and go there first. read more

The biggest mistake I made was purchasing my Fusion from this place a few years ago. The location on Stadium and the selection was a huge plus for me, even after dealing with the typical high-pressure sales tactics and the misinformation. Unfortunately, that doesn't end there as their service department is no better. It seems that they lack experience in dealing with trouble-codes on a vehicle...and having to keep making appointments to drop the car off for a whole day for the same issue gets very old and tiresome (I am unable to wait for it). I usually have my service done at DeNooyer, but since we purchased this car at Don Seeyle I decided to have my service done there.....big mistake! I was ignored by all of the service advisors when I came into the garage, told to go get my car and drive it into the bay myself( DeNooyer does that for you), and then was treated like I was interrupting the advisors day. I was told they would call me with prices before completing the job. When the advisor called she quoted me a price of $686, I asked her what that included, I was told about all the parts and labor and was told that my cost to complete the job was $686. When I went to pay for the service I was told I owed $747, I was shocked by the $61 difference. The advisor was called over to "explain" to me the charges and said the difference was taxes and some other things. I asked why was I told $686 was the amount due to complete the job if $747 was the correct amount....she had no answer. I paid, walked out to my car at least hoping to see that I had received a car wash.....no, no I didn't. Every service that I have done at DeNooyer ends with a car wash. After my anger fog cleared I looked over my paperwork and it stated at the bottom that the advisor had advised me that the cost would be about $750......WRONG. I like my money too much to make $61 mistake. Lesson learned. DeNooyer here I come! read more

Would not recommend or ever go back to this dealership. My pregnant wife and I wanted to trade in our Jeep that had problems in for another car we had one car in mind. We were impressed at first, offered us drinks and were very friendly. Our sales person was cool in the beginning. We gave him the keys to check out our car while we checked out theirs. Everything seemed to go downhill after the test drive was over. We got back told him we were interested and wanted to see what they would offer us for our Jeep and what the total amount would be. I honestly forgot the amount of times he wondered off to get something he printed off or to talk to the finance guy. What really irritated my wife and I was the finance guy, he was pushy, persistent, and wouldn't listen to what we said, our sales guy started to irritate us in the same way. They low balled us on the offer for our Jeep and only upped what they offered us after they suggested we put $500 down. We noticed that they were taking my wife's pregnancy as a way to get us to buy the car, they were all very much manipulative. The total price was coming out to be $1,000-$2,000 more then our pre approved loan was for, they obviously wanted us to finance through them, tho I wouldn't mind as long as my payments and interest rate was lower then the loan I already had, which they couldn't even come close to. We were there for 3 hours! Got no where, my wife was uncomfortable and getting frustrated cause they would not listen to us, we wanted to really think about it and let them know tomorrow but they kept jerking us around. They were going to let us take their car out for lunch to think about it and bring it back before they closed. But I didn't want to come back cause I was already frustrated at the fact that they weren't listening, we weren't getting anywhere with them, and We were there longer then we should have been. So I asked for my keys to my Jeep which I did not receive when we got back from the test drive! The sales person really didn't care after that, he seemed more upset that he didn't make a sale. We went to Don Seelye last week to look for a Jeep or Ford for our son who is currently in Afghanistan on deployment. We worked with Scott Brockelbank, who we have purchased two other vehicles from in the past couple of years. He is a great salesman, and an all around good guy to work with. Never steers us wrong and always straight with us when we purchase/lease. After driving both vehicles, we decided with our son's input on the Jeep Cherokee-2015 model. We worked with Scott, and Dan Brosnan at Paw Paw today. They made the transition smooth for us, came to the price we wanted, with the mileage, monthly payment, and bells and whistles that are son needed/wanted when he comes back in December. The transition for him to get the vehicle through our dealing with Scott and Dan was flawless, even though he is in Afghanistan currently. They made it simple, to the point, and effortless for us to complete the transaction with no pressure and excellent customer service. The jeep was purchased today for our son, and it was as always one of the best customer service and sales purchases as always! I am very pleased with both Scott and Dan as people and as professionals in their dealings! It was a really great expeience and I would highly recommend both locations for Seelye: both Don Seelye Ford Kia on Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo where Scott Brockelbank is located and Seelye Wright of Paw Paw where Dan Brosnan is located. I can say too, that the gentlemen who ran through everything with us once we purchased (Dan C.) knows his stuff and is very thorough on all things Jeep! My daughter & I went to Seelye Ford to buy a used 2002 Ford Ranger Pickup that she found online. This was to be her first car. The body looked in great condition and a under car look showed a little rust on the trailer hitch. The salesman asked if we wanted to take it for a test drive and we did take it for a test drive. It drove and felt good. When we returned, my daughter made a counter offer and the salesman accepted it. The salesman told us that it is sold as-is without any warranty and that it has not been inspected because his job at Seelye Ford is to sell the traded in vehicles for the best profit; and if he runs the car through the Seelye Ford inspection service, he and his department will get charged several hundred dollars for the service and that will raise the selling price or decrease his profit. After he had us convinced of the value of the car and my daughter was convinced to buy the car, we signed the sales agreement and mileage disclosure and the title papers and the as-is statement and she has written the check, he then slides a paper across the desk saying that this vehicle is being sold "FOR PARTS ONLY, AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN OFF THE LOT", as he explains that this is just because he did not have the car inspected so he could sell it to my daughter for $3,500.00. My first car and my second car were both used and I bought them from individuals I knew, first in 1965 and the second in 1968, since then I have always bought new cars. I have never seen a document that says the car is only sold for parts and cannot be driven off the lot. If Seelye Ford is so worried about liability to prohibit us from driving a car that they just sold us, why did they suggest and then allow us to take it for a test drive? That was all late last summer. Fast forward to May 2016, one of the straps holding up the gas tank had broken. After fixing that, the repair shop said that the ball joints were shot and the rear springs were broken, the muffler needed to be replaced and there was a lot of rust on the frame. My daughter was nearing the end of term at Western Michigan University and needed the truck, so she waited until late July when she took the truck into another shop to repair the ball joints. That repair shop refused to do the needed repair work because they considered it to be too dangerous to put the truck up on a lift to do the work, afraid that the frame would break and injure their mechanics, and they VERY STRONGLY recommended that the truck not be driven home, that it should be carried on a tow truck. When I spoke to the "manager of the sales department" at Seelye Ford, he said that he had reviewed "our file" and saw that we had signed all the papers and then he said "I have no more time to waste talking with you." and he hung up. I only wish that I could give the Used Car Department at Seelye Ford a lower rating to warn others of our terrible experience of being sold a truck that they knew was dangerous. read more

I purchased a new vehicle through Seelye with X plan pricing. The sales person I dealt with wasn't very knowledgeable on the vehicles. The vehicle I wanted was a Fusion AWD. At first, he stated that Ford did not make a Fusion in AWD (all wheel drive). I ended up finding one on there lot. After a few statements of "your right, that isn't the correct price, I must have the wrong information" and "floor mats never come standard on these cars," we finally got the price nail down (nearly an hour). I did want to purchase from them, but unfortunately, they had exactly what I was looking for. read more

Every sales associate I saw looked sleazy and the place was run down. I couldn't believe how many sales people kept taking smoke breaks while we were there. My son found a car he wanted online. Emailed them about it (with a phone number) and after 5 emails finally got a response. I replied back only to get the same response back. Never answered by questions. Got another email back giving me all the positive feedback customers are saying about them. Still didn't answer my questions. So I emailed another internet sales person and received NO response. Days later I get an email asking to answer questions about their service. Really? I never got any service. I had a very bad experience about a year ago with Seelye Ford in regards to an F150 truck that we leased and then returned after the lease had expired and I told my wife that we would never do business with this dealership again. Well, my wife wanted to give them another chance as she really liked the Ford Edge. She went in last week and asked for two things - what they would give her for her current car and a lease price on a new Edge. Two hours after asking for this information she was still there sitting in the salesman's office waiting, and waiting. The sales manager, Mike, even came by and he was absolutely no help whatsoever. She finally told the salesman that she wanted the keys back to her car so she could leave. The salesman took off to get the keys and finally returned 30 minutes later - she said she felt like a hostage the whole time she was there. She told the salesman to email her the information and promptly left. An hour later she still had not yet received the email so I called the salesman and he said he would "work on it". I told him he had 15 minutes to get us the information - it finally came 20 minutes later. I can't believe that it took almost 4 hours to get a lease price for a damn vehicle. We went to another Ford dealership the very next day and purchased a Ford Edge. I told the salesman about the horrendous experience at Seelye my wife had the day before and his comment was "yes, we hear that a lot and we get a lot of referrals because of it". Two bad experiences and now I can say that we will never purchase another vehicle from Seelye! read more

I purchased a car from Seelye Kia in Kalamazoo Mi. a little over 3 months ago. On Feb 4 I noticed my brakes were rubbing. I called the sales person, Star, on the 5th and was told she would need to call me back. Waited until the 9th and called again and she told me the same thing. I called back to speak to a manger on the 10th and was put into Corey's voice mail. And once again no call back. the next day I called again and asked once again got put into a voice mail, this time someone named Nick. He did call back the next day and I missed the call. I called him when I got home and once again a voice mail. I ended up going to the dealership the next night after work and meet with Nick and I asked about the brakes, now I realize that they are not covered by a warranty but thought they would stand behind their product, but per Nick brakes can last 3 months to a year and he was not going to do anything about the brakes at all. I did register a complaint and got a message from their general manager, Mickey Seelye threating me with a lawsuit over slander. If you are considering purchasing a car from this dealership I would recommend you think twice read more

Just left this dealership with a very bad taste. I called Jeremy about a blue '08 G37. I specifically asked over the phone if this car had any dings, dents, etc. and he said the car has no such damage and that it's clean. Taking his word, I drove 2.5 hrs from Chicago only to find the car RIDDLED with dings, dents, and scratches. One of the dents was so bad that the paint was chipping away and all rusted. I asked Jeremy why he didn't mention this to me over the phone and he said, "I swear to god I did not see this until this morning." After apologizing several times he said, "My manager said to not say anything about the damage and have them look at it when they get here" I felt so disgusted having spent so much time and money traveling only to be lied to right to my face. We offered a very reasonable price, they accepted the offer only to give me a ridiculously unfair trade-in value for my current car (to make up for their "loss" on the G37). Complete liars and everybody was in on the scheme including the managers. 1-star for them at least giving me a gas card so I can fill up my tank to drive back to Chicago. read more

I've already posted my review about don Seelye ford but I want to make sure everyone reads about my experience with this terrible dealership! First off the yea we can is a big fat NO WE CANT!! I went to the dealership lookin for a nice used vehicle I was already driving a Saturn which I did not like and I made it clear to my salesman RYAN RILEY that I did not desire another Saturn but that's what he found me and he kept saying that because it was a newer model that I would not have the same issues as I had been having with the Saturn I owened so I took the car for the weekend to see if I liked it I returned it Monday and returned Wednesday to sign the lease and take the car home. From that moment me and my father were given the run around first Ryan changes the price of the car then he want me to trade in my car and only valued it for $400 which was a complete rip off! My father and I eventually agreed and wanted to move forward with the new car. Ryan supposdley goes to get the car washed and ready for me to take home but he come back saying he cannot find the keys to the car. He leaves again and we thought he was going to look for the keys instead Ryan hops in his little black Kia that he kept trying to show off to me and heads across the steet to Buffalo Wild Wings to get lunch leaving me and my father in his office talking to one of his co workers and about his life as if me or my father really cared! Ryan was gone for over 30 minutes!! Me and my father left and the next day I walked into cole krum I the sales lady the exact car I want and color she matched it to a t! I got my car the same day no money down and I still own my Saturn that don seelye ford valued for $400 cold kris treated me and my father with dignity and respect and for that reason me and my family will only give them business! Very disappointed in the parts department. My daughter accidentally took my 2010 Fusion Sport key with her when she returned to the east side of the state. I phoned the dealership and asked if a Valet key had been given to me when I purchased the car from them. I was told that my car did not come with a valet key and though that seemed odd I ended my search for the valet key and towed my car to the dealership to have new keys programmed. Again at the dealership I inquired about the Valet key and was again told the car was not delivered with one. Imagine my surprise when I was told you can not get just one key as the programming requires two, doesn't sound too bad until you find out each key is $150, add the programming fee and I was out $364. Less than 2 weeks later I find the Valet key that I was reassured did not come with my car! I feel duped. I love my Fusion and plan to replace it with a new one but it will not be purchased at Seelye Ford. read more
