Find See's on street level in the center of Pearlridge Mauka (formerly known as Uptown) near the escalators, across Starbuck's. This visit was long overdue. Stepping inside the store instantly brought back many happy memories of gift boxes filled with nuts and chews or molasses chips. Picked their dark chocolate truffles which were yummy! Okay I need a little Look See for an event. The Pearl ridge shop on the lower level, Macy's side but by the escalators and elevators. I saw one worker dressed like they did probably half a century ago: white uniform reminded me of the box or package that had an elderly lady on their packaging. I asked do you sell lollipops in bulk? She showed me where the 12 pack and 30 count box was a few feet away. Ooh, assortment is good( my favorite is the chocolate one.) She offered me a FREE piece of candy asking milk or dark? Trying to be healthy( not cuz I adore milk chocolate) but I said dark. She offered a buttercream piece. If I return I need to think fast and ask may I have a sugar free one? Just then a woman dressed with a baboushka head wear entered with 3 children and each got a FREE piece then walked out the door without purchasing anything. Hmmm I decided to ask may I have one for my husband? My purchase was over $30 so I asked. She replied must be present to get a candy. I told her, aww he's waiting in the car(I wasn't kidding.) Well next time he needs to come into the store she said kinda grudgingly giving me one for him too. Yikes. I went to buy myself Valentine's day candy since i don't have a valentine to get me any so best to get it during the after valentine's day sale. I was having a bad day. One of those stressful days where everyone starts irritating you I was already grouchy when i entered the store. In addition i was losing my patience with the customer in front of me taking "years" to figure out what she's buying while shes in front of the register then taking forever to get her wallet or whatever out, then debating if she really should buy this or that not caring about people waiting behind her. I was annoyed everyone in line and the store was offered a sample but me. Then came this kind employee lady who offered to help me at the other register. She turned my frowns into laughter, kindness and I left happy! I wish i got her name, she was an older lady w short brown hair. She was so friendly and I was finally able to get my chocolate sample from her. We had a fun discussion over milk or dark chocolate, how i eat lots of dark cuz it's healthy right? She was just so friendly that I left the store that day w a smile and my entire day was brightened! I ended up buying some awesome dark chocolate peanut butter heart truffles and deep dark heart truffles at 25% off for the after valentine's day sale. It was a win win experience. I've never really had the urge to buy expensive chocolate. I'm not much of a chocolate fanatic, but people I know go crazy for sees candy and spend a lot of money here haha. It must be good. Just kidding, I know it's good and have tried all kinds of things from here, but yeah I don't think I have the chocolate sweet tooth. My Aunty is one of those fanatic people. We came at 7:58 to get sees chocolate because they were closing at 8 and we needed to get some before having dinner elsewhere in the mall. I honestly had a hard time remembering where sees even was because it's so low on my radar. Anyway, we get there and the girl working is kinda cleaning up and we nicely ask if it's ok to buy something really quick. She kind of reluctantly says yes and proceeds to help my Aunty get a box of chocolate. It was definitely our bad for coming in late, but the worker was so nice and even gave all of us free samples. Another customer rushed in as we were checking out and they still helped her too even though they were a bit more reluctant to. It can get quite expensive choosing different chocolates from the display case. I always feel like I'm in an old timey candy shop like the ones in Willy wonka when I come here lol. See's is our favorite off diet holiday treat. I visited the Pearlridge location as soon they opened at 10:00am on a Tuesday in early December. There was already a steady flow of customers and even the parking lot closest to this side of the mall was filling up fast when I arrived at 9:30am. The young lady helping me was super sweet. However, she appeared new at her job so it took extra time for her to pack (2) 1# custom mix, (1) 1/2# custom mix and a 1# can of Almond Royale. She did her best, but unfortunately, overlooked a few important details such as the iconic sticker seals, gold ribbon, labeling each custom box to identify its contents. Luckily, she was eager to learn when I pointed everything out to her. One small disappointment is that she was so preoccupied with packing my order that she didn't offer any samples like other sales associates usually do, especially since it took her more than 35 minutes from start to finish. I know! But we've all been new at a job at one time or another. No matter what, I have to give this shop 5-stars. By the way, it might be my imagination, but for some reason, the Pearlridge store seems to have a lot more variety in the 8 oz. Grab-n-Go bags which are a slightly better value. read more

Love See's candies a couple of my favorites are the scotch mallow (marshmallow, caramel & covered with chocolate) & walnut square (chocolate layered with pieces of walnuts and caramel.) . I always enjoy visiting See's Candies here in Hawaii. For their delicious chocolates that is sure to satisfy my chocolate candy craving. -My visits are always pleasant, staff always greets & welcomes customers into the store. - Cleanliness - Availability of Seasonal merchandise. - I can purchase 1 or more pieces $28.50 per pound. Today I purchased 8 pieces for $9.41 + tax a little over $1 a piece. - Customize a box of chocolates for yourself or for a special someone. They'll gift wrap it for you depending on the occasion it's for. - I've also learned today from the sales person who was on the sales floor ( sorry didn't get her name) that you can customize the large box of lollipops with flavors of your choice. Welcome sweet tooth. Who doesn't like candy? Well maybe Wilbur. Ooh who can get that reference? Hummm maybe Carmen? The place has it all from chocolate pieces to chocolate bars. You can stretch out taffy, you can munch on peanut brittle and you can find out how many lick it takes to get to the center of a toot......oops that's a commercial, I mean they sell lollipops. Individually or in a lollipop bunch. And for some strange coincidence they even have the occasional sugar free. Granted See's is so popular, you can grab their candy anywhere but at the store everything is nicely displayed and you can choose what pieces to put in a box. (Half pound box holds 12-13 pieces) And the plus side is you get a free piece of candy at checkout. Like how you use to get a free cookie at Safeway. I know you read that review. Overall five stars, staff is nothing but the greatest and who doesn't like chocolate. Well maybe a certain dentist. It's a pricey treat but an occasional splurge is good for the soul. I got about a pound of the Dark Patties and Dark Butterchews. We love our darks and caramels. Lynn was very helpful, she said actually See's has one of the cheaper 'per pound' prices for chocolates. With Godiva closing all locations in Hawaii, where could I possibly get my next chocolate truffle fix? See's Candies is my new favorite chocolate shop! My favorite is the rocky road truffle with marshmallows and raspberry chocolate truffle, soo yummy. For 12 pieces at Godiva you'd pay 30$+, for 16 pieces here, I only paid 21$, WHAT A DEAL! Shoulda came here sooner! The price depends on the weight of the truffles so keep that in mind, but you can give the workers a budget and they will do anything they can to help you fit that budget. The store with its white walls gives that clean fresh welcoming feeling when you walk in. Located on the first floor in uptown, it's near the center court and easy to find. Due to COVID they only allow 9 customers in the store at a time so it can create a line outside. We were the only ones in line and waited about 5 minutes. The selection seemed less than normal but it could be because it's close to Easter and a lot of people were purchasing the boxed candies. The lollipops sold individually were limited in flavors so we got the box assortment instead. They still offer a free sample of chocolate but it comes individually wrapped now. This particular See's Candies store has been in the same spot in Uptown Pearlridge for as long as I can remember. The employees are always warm and inviting and their store is always filled with chocolates for any chocolate lover. I have many favorites like their almond truffle, dark chocolate w/walnuts, dark chocolate w/almonds, their peanut brittle bar and their café latte and chocolate lollypops. On my past trip here, they had so many cute Halloween treats so of course I had to buy a lot to take back to Maui with me. As soon as you enter See's you are greeted and offered samples. Yes please! I love See's Candies. I wish we had a permanent one on Maui at Queen Ka'ahumanu Mall or Maui Mall. We have seasonal ones that open at the mall and the gift shop at Maui Memorial Hospital sells their lollypops but we need a permanent store. Until then, those of us who no longer live on Oahu will have to either order online or shop when we are on island and pack them in our luggage lol. Check it out! read more

I have a son who buys whatever he wants whenever he wants. I'm always in a quandary when it comes to buying him gifts. One of his Christmas presents this year is seven pounds of hand picked chocolates in a five pound box! Luckily diabetes doesn't run in the family because he is definitely a sweets eater. I went to the Pearlridge Mall as soon as the store opened at 10:00AM and explained that I wanted a five pound box and would select the contents. I knew exactly what he would like and informed the sweet worker we would duplicate the bottom and top layers and off we went. Luckily they weren't yet busy so as the box filled we joked and popped chocolates like old friends. When we were finished and to her surprise the box weighed in at 6.98 pounds! I wasn't as surprised as she was because instead of pieces of Rocky Road and Fudge I asked for the bars as they usually cut them into pieces. Plus, the candy was way higher then the edge of the box. So...how do you get seven pounds of candy in a five pound box? Go to See's! Great customer service and free treats just for being there. read more

The Covid 19 wait times to get into smaller stores are exceptionally long. Especially during holidays. I didn't move in line for about 20 mins and had to give up as I was on my lunch break. I came back later after work though. I waited a little while again but not as bad. When I got in they didn't have the premade nuts and chewy box I wanted but made it for me from the chocolates on hand and though they didn't have all the items they filled it with others. I had to write a review for See's candy because of their consistency with their customer service over the years. They always greet you as soon as you enter their store. They always offer complimentary chocolate although now I have to refuse due to aging. But they're persistent that you get a sample. Sometimes they win. They always let you know their current special like a good sales person should. They're doing their job. On my recent visit here, I've discovered they have fundraiser. How smart! I remember See's Candies from Kahala Mall back in the 70's and See's is still one of my favorite places to go when I have a craving for one of their lollipops or a box of chocolate for a special gift. Their stores are always spotless and inviting, and I have yet to walk into any See's location and not be warmly greeted by the staff. I don't know how See's does it, but they have a knack for hiring some of the best customer service people I've ever met. Whether you buy nothing, a single lollipop, or a box of chocolate you won't leave without being offered a free sample. In fact, you barely get both feet in the store and an employee is offering a sample. What better way to get you in the mood to buy something then with a See's goodie melting in your mouth. I don't know if you're like me, but if I'm in Pearlridge... we'll always stop by. Especially after a meal, having a sweet treat is the best! I love the fact that I can just have one piece of candy. If I'm feeling like a sucker, I can pick up a lollipop. If I feel like a nut, I can have an almond cluster. For every visitor, the employees will offer a sample. It's a great way to get acquainted with the different candies offered and possibly find your new favorite. The only drawback for me will always be the price. The reason I normally only have a piece of candy is because they are weighed. The more you pick, the higher the bill. So that's a good and bad I guess. One of my favorite places for chocolates. There's one in most major malls. I happen to like the Pearlridge location since it's near home and conveniently located. This location is in the uptown Mall on the ground level. It is near the center, where the escalators are located. My favorite part is when I walk in and am greeted with a sample. Nothing makes me smile more than some chocolate! And free is always good. Today I went in to see if they had any specials. They had percent off Valentines arrangements. There's also some Easter decor and St Patrick's day themed chocolates. I love how simple their packagings are and how festive they make their seasonal gifts. They have the St Patrick's Potato and a mint scotchmallow. I came in for their chocolates though. So I got me a few items. One of my favorites is Normandie. You can always count on See's Candies to deliver the goods, (almost) 365 days of the year. Yep...its as good as it gets: you get a chocolate or sugar-sweet attack and need your fix. You can either dig into a box of generic chocolate covered mac nuts or you can head to See's to get a nice, big fat fix on your favorite drugs of choice: - Key Lime Truffle = AMAZING!!! (SORRY FOR SHOUTING). If you like limes, key limes or just key lime truffles, you MUST try this truffle encased in white chocolate heav. You'll be glad you did. I am sorry I do not have the price because to me, price is of no concern when it comes to Key Lime Truffles. I tend to buy then devour on the scene. Cash register receipts and all other wrappers are dutifully thrown into trash receptacle. - Apple Pie Truffle = SCREAM!!! (SORRY FOR SCREAMING). Oh my oh my...so good!! The Apple Pie Truffle does taste like a piece of apple pie encrusted in creamy, silky chocolate with a hint of cinnamon. This is great with a cup of nice hot coffee. - Lemon Truffle = If I had any vocal cords left, I'd be screaming again. Rich lemony chiffon buttercream encased in silky, sensuous chocolate. The flavor of the lemon is really intense, but not overpowering. - Pumpkin Pie Truffle = This is one of my favorites, but it seems to be a seasonal item. GET IT when you see it...absolutely fabulous!! Tastes like a rich pumpkin cream speckled with nutmeg and cloves. So enough about the wonderful truffles. I could shoot See's truffles into my veins and hallucinate about world peace and drool in happiness but the reason I give this particular See's at Pearlridge a 5-star is the good service we consistently get, no matter how crowded or busy. We went last week before St. Patrick's Day was in full swing and it was crowded on a weekend but we got our obligatory "HI! Would you like to try a sample?" and a smile along with our sample(s) of chocolates. My son did not want to have anything to do with Truffles. All he was interested in was the chocolate coins in a mesh bag ($3.95-ish). That was a small price to pay for some moments of peace. This is the closest See's Candies location that is convenient to me and I've been coming to this store for many years and I'm looking forward to the Fall season when I can get my Pumpkin Pie Truffles again. For years, my parents have occasionally stopped by See's Candy to buy my sister & I lollipop's or chocolate coins as kids, as if taking us shopping at Pearlridge wasn't enough. I always took note of my parent's favorite chocolates, Coconut Special and Cashew Brittle. They weren't big on sweets but would cave in for See's chocolate. Now that I am older, when in the Pearlridge area, I pick my parents up some of their favorites to bring over when I visit. The services here is impeccable. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They usually have full-sized "samples"! And the prices are very reasonable and affordable for the quality chocolate you're purchasing. Hello, my name is Ana. I just came from the See's Candy Store location on 98-1005 Moanalua Rd, Aiea HI 96701 on April 10th at about 3 pm. This store is located inside of the Pearl ridge Mall. I was at the mall to get my VA services taken care of and decided to stop by the See's Candy shop and buy some candy. I usually get my samples and then buy like usual but today I didn't buy because of the embarrassment I was put through by your See's employee Sandra. I walked in and was greeted with both employees offering a sample, to which I said no to the employee carrying the box of candy samples and yes to Sandra behind the glass counter. I asked her for a sample of a Toffee-ette and she gave me the sample. There was only a young couple in the store at the time and they were also taking samples. I asked the other employee for a lemon truffle but was given the wrong one but didn't notice till she walked away. I was about to call her back to let her know she gave me the wrong one when I overheard her say to Sandra that she was going to the back and she'll be there for awhile. So now I waited for Sandra who was now helping the couple. The guy asked for another sample and Sandra gave it without a word. I asked for another sample and Sandra immediately said No because I already had 2. She said I would have to eat one of the samples in order for her to give me one. So even though it's not what I wanted I went ahead and ate it...As Sandra watched me! Then when I was done I asked her if it was ok now? She said yes but we normally don't do that and if you are saving samples for someone else then they need to be here. So I asked for my sample and I took my time eating it as she finished helping checking out the young couple who heard all this. The couple had several samples while I was there but I didn't hear Sandra give them or the guy that was mainly asking any trouble. After they left a large group of people walked into the store. Another couple with a stroller and another couple and a small group of three. I was at the front standing with my 1 sample when Sandra came up to me to ask me if I was ready since I was next. I asked her can I please have one more sample to which she said again No! Because you already had enough samples! I couldn't believe she said that. She followed up with I gave you a lot of samples already and You Ate Them! So I'm not allowed to give you anymore. It's the store policy and I can't give you anymore samples. I've never been so humiliated. Everyone at the store was just quiet and looking at me. I felt like a fat cow at that moment. I said I've been to See's for so many years and have never heard of this. She literally rolled her eyes at me and said fine I'll give it to you but just know that I'm not supposed to do this because you already had some samples and ate them. I was so embarrassed. I just wanted to leave. So I didn't get around to buying my usual 1 pound bag for my daughter and 1 pound bag for my husband. Which the 2 samples I walked away with were for them. And nothing but shame for me. I won't be coming back to See's for quite some time. I just don't understand how this is ok. How an employee can talk to and humiliate a person. I asked for her name at that point and walked out of the store. I'd to add that I've always been able to ask for samples or even offered sample after sample in some cases and never made to feel like I did today. I don't think she should be working with your company or if anything have her retrained in proper customer service. If I can give zero stars for this I would. read more

I have to admit, the free sample when you come in is what brings me into this place but the customer service is what keeps me inside and gets me to buy. The workers here are so friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and try to help you, rather than just try selling things to you. This location by far has the best customer service. I remember coming here when I was a little girl and I loved to get the lollipops. They always have cute boxes and decorated boxes for each of the seasons and holidays. Easter has some very cute stuff. I recommend the awesome bars and the assortment of little pops(butterscotch, chocolate, etc). I've probably been to this Pearlridge See's Candies the most because I grew up going to Pearlridge (it was closer than Ala Moana), and whenever I hit up this mall, I still drop by See's for my free sample. This store has definitely gotten more crowded over the years. Sometimes I go in specifically to buy a product, but other times, I just go in to peruse the seasonal selection. When the store is super busy, don't count on receiving a free sample unless you are in line and waiting to purchase something. Or, if you're lucky, there'll be a roaming employee who you could flag down. It seems that this location in particular likes to offer the nutty candies right off the bat when it comes to free samples, but since I don't like nuts, the employees have always been accommodating in getting me something more basic (one of the pure milk or dark chocolate buttercreams, for instance) to taste. While this location is hit-or-miss when it comes to service (depending on how busy they are), I can usually find everything that I need. Here's what I would recommend: "Peanut Butter Pattie": If Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were flattened out, they would result in See's Peanut Butter Pattie. If I'm getting just a few treats from See's, I usually go for the Milk Bordeaux and these peanut butter patties. The feature smooth, old-fashioned peanut butter with powdered sugar covered in milk chocolate. Though I feel like the peanut butter taste in these candies is not as strong as they are in Reese's, the creamy peanut butter and velvety milk chocolate combo is still delightful ... one of my favorites. "Pecan Bud": I haven't tried this treat yet, but I'm sure I'll like it because it includes pecans. This "bud" features pecan halves with buttery caramel covered with smooth milk chocolate. I don't like most of the nuts featured at See's, but pecans are okay on my list. Plus, this pecan comes covered with a luscious caramel-and-milk chocolate blend ... couldn't ask for anything better! "Milk Buttercream": I think I like milk chocolate and dark chocolate equally, and this buttercream is one of the staples at See's. It features a buttery, creamy soft center with a touch of vanilla, covered in smooth milk chocolate. The center of this buttercream treat makes it perfect -- the slight vanilla taste offsets the otherwise decadent chocolate flavoring perfectly. "Dark Buttercream": I think I've gotten this candy as a sample before--numerous times, in fact--but I've never actually ordered the chocolate itself. Whenever these treats are in season, I'm always sure to get one for my grandma because these are her favorite snacks. They include fluffy honey marshmallow that's drenched in layers of smooth milk chocolate. My grandma really likes the marshmallow treats from See's because of their puffy marshmallow layer that's balanced perfectly by the milk chocolate exterior.
