Who doesn't remember going to See's as a kid and getting all excited when the lady gave you a free piece of chocolate? I remember those times fondly and still get excited when I go to our local See's Candies. There are so many fancy chocolate shops in Hawaii, but my favorite will always be See's. The molasses chips, nuts and chews, and dark chocolate raspberry truffles are my favorites. I come here every year to send my ex mother in law a big 2 lb box for Christmas, and she also loves them, they're perfect to serve visiting guests during the holidays. You can pick up a box of assorted chocolates, nuts and chews, truffles, lollipops, or make your own box from the several different types of chocolates available in the display case. I buy the small boxes of truffles to give to my mailman, UPS guy, doctor's receptionist, and zumba teacher. It's the perfect gift for any occasion. While going to Cinnabon's today, I just noticed that See's Candies had relocated to a new location within the Ala Moana Shopping center. The new location appears to be where the old "Slipper House" use to be. See's Candies has been around for as long as I can remember...........I grew up loving the See's Candies butterscotch lollipops! The chocolate lollipops aren't too bad either. Since I was already here at the mall, I decided to pop on into See's Candies to pickup a few lollipops....... Upon entering the store, I get the usual friendly service where I was greeted, then offered a free piece of chocolate candy. Looking around, I could see that the new See's Candies store is waaaaaaaaaay bigger than the old store (that was close to the Old Navy). The store is ultra clean looking, well lit & bright............ I love the way they display their candies, and they also have pre-boxed candies that are already wrapped and ready to go. The chocolates here are of high quality, and you really can't go wrong with anything you buy here! Upon purchasing my lollipops, I got a free $5.00 coupon from the friendly clerk (if I spend more than $25 worth of stuff). I though it was very thoughtful of them to do this. I love See's Candies! and so glad after so many years, they are still in business here in Hawaii. I remember coming here as a young child with my dad buying his favorite candy, which was just a plain milk chocolate chunk bar, which they discontinued a long time ago. Today, I shop for the butterscotch chews, the butterscotch kisses, or the butterscotch lollipop. What brought me here, was lollipop day, and got a free lollipop! I noticed a lot of people claiming their lollipop, but basically it was whatever is handed to you. And lucky me, I got a butterscotch! This sweet shop is the best because the people there are the best. Maybe it was just the day I went and the time I went but it was just a pleasant experience going there and talking with them. We were a big fan of See's candy. Couldn't left without purchase few of those every time when we walk by. This time was a nightmare. My kid sucked the lollipop for 5 minutes then asked me, "mom, what's the black thing?" I looked up and felt so disgusted and wanted to throw up. IT IS DEFINITELY A DEAD BUG!!!!! And there was another black spot on the top of it that I forgot to take a picture. I brought it back to the store and showed to the lady, she looked up, said one short sentence with four words: 'just throw it away. ' REALLY??? NO APOLOGIZE????? She walked to the candy tray, looked around those customers in the store, seemed afraid they heard something from me, then grabbed a new lollipop then handed to me. See's Candies at Ala Moana Shopping Center will be moving to a bigger store front sometime this year. The current location is street level ocean side in a smaller store front. I stopped by See's Candies for the first time on Thursday afternoon. I was killing time and strolling off the heavy lunch from earlier. When I entered the candy shop I was greeted right away by the employees. I was offered to try a dark chocolate candy by the female employee. I took a look at all the different candies and decided to order four pieces of Dark California Brittle that was in the display case. I paid for my transaction and received a coupon that is good at any of the See's Candies location. I'll be looking forward to see how the bigger store will look like. I like when you just walk in and your greeted with a sample of chocolate candy. Even though I was chewing on some gum, I still couldn't pass up the offer. This is one of the best candy shops I can think of. You can't go wrong with the goodies in this store. From the lollie pops to the peanut brittle down to the chocolates, Everything in here is great quality candy. I didn't know this but If you want your stuff wrapped you have to stand in line behind the people that are ordering candy from behind the counter. If you just walk to the cashier they'll tell you the line starts behind them. Regardless if your not ordering, you still gotta wait. Kinda like cutting but in a nice way. The last thing I desire when shopping at a sees candy is a middle aged brown haired Philippine ethnicity female with no name tag speaking with a condescending tone directing people around the store. 4pm nov 29th 2021. See's candies is a classic shop that I've always loved since I was a child. Recently, the Ala Moana location has truly impressed me with such fantastic customer service! I stopped by yesterday to grab some Hawaii limited chocolates, and because of these great employees I am always leaving with a smile. I can truly feel their positive energy when they are helping me. I can definitely say these are some happy employees here! (Working with delicious candy must be a real treat too ;)) I highly suggest trying a box of the Hawaii limited candies! The orange truffle and key lime truffle are some of my favorite here too. I can also never say no to the molasses chips! (I throw mine in the freezer, they taste divine that way!) To say I inherited a sweet tooth is a huge understatement. See's was my entry drug of choice. I used to raid my Mom's refrigerator stash, taking only my favorites and leaving her the rest. Which, lucky for me, the remaining were all her favorites. It's crazy to think that this See's store smells the same as my neighborhood location, thousands of miles away and twenty years ago. While browsing the shops and stores within Ala Moana one day, I told myself that I was going to refrain from two things: 1) Eating, and 2) Buying cute cheap dresses that will fall apart after a few washes. While I was successful in denying my urges to try on Forever 21 apparel, I failed in my #1 criteria. But it was because of See's Candies and after tasting one nibble of chocolate, I knew it was worth it. We stepped into See's with the intention of just dropping in for a quick browse, but we were quickly lured in when the cashier immediately offered us each a chocolate with a huge smile. I could not believe the sample size: an entire chocolate in its wrapper, straight out of the nuts and chews box! This piece of chocolate was like heaven in my mouth. It kind of reminded me of a Snickers bar, but about 100000x times better. Just from that single piece of chocolate, I was able to ascertain that See's offers very high quality chocolate. So, how on EARTH did I leave this place without purchasing some chocolate? Well, after finishing my piece, I looked at my boyfriend and said, "I've got to get out of here!" It was that good. I would have purchased half the store and then I would have finished all of it myself. It was. That. Good. If I receive a box of See's nuts and chews or maybe the assorted chocolates or the truffles or...ANY box of See's chocolates next Valentine's Day, I will probably go to the alter. That. Good. Hopefully I have time to pick up some chocolate "to bring home as a souvenir" (*cough* to eat all myself) before leaving Oahu. Every year I get See's candy for the folks for Valentine's Day. Special hours today and tomorrow. Open @ 9:00am. The Piikoi entrance to ground level parking & shops is now open. It is a bit of a maze in there. Keep left upon entering. Eventually you will arrive at Old Navy. The staff is always friendly and patient with those of us who take our sweet ass time ordering. You can ask for a diff sample if the one they offer is not to your liking. (Except molasses chips) The chocolate is perfect, and not sickenly sweet like some candies are. Basically the only chocolate that DOSESN't make me sneeze! Love it! If you check in today or tomorrow, there is a $5 off coupon for purchases over $40. My 2# box was $41.36, before coupon. Located on the street level floor of Ala Moana, by Forever 21/Old Navy. Cute little shop! It was my first time at this location. I always walk by See's Pearlridge, but have never personally purchased See's Candies. I stopped into this location yesterday to get gifts and they have a really nice selection, including boxes of assorted fudge. I also got 2 full-sized free chocolate samples while I was there. The butterscotch chocolate was amazing! I also needed my gifts wrapped and they wrapped them for beautifully, for free. I'll probably be back for some more of that butterscotch. :) read more

Upon entering, I was quickly and genuinely welcomed and given two free samples by a kind female worker whom i can't recall her name. But she is just the sweetest and so very helpful. I am a total fan of see's candy and the taste of it. However, i've only received See's candy as gifts or won it as a prize at school when i was younger. Now that i'm an adult, i've only bought what i'm familiar with and that's only the bars and the lollipops. Ive never bought a box of See's Candy chocolates. So when they give you those samples, believe me they do help if you don't know what they taste like. There's a wide variety of chocolates to choose from. I love it. It's beautifully set up in three display cases. You're able to fit about 20 in a box and it's about $1 - $2 each chocolate. After buying it, They gift wrap it at no additional cost which is amazing. I have no complaints whatsoever. I just really wish i could've tried some of the chocolates as i was choosing and wasn't just given random ones from the beginning. But what is great, one of the samples i tried from the beginning i ended up getting bc i enjoyed it. I'm not one of those people who love free samples like those who go to costco just get the samples lol. So i pretty much just stuck with the basics getting coffee/ toffee flavored chocolates only as i know forsure i will those. read more

Shop workers are always friendly, with at least one free sample per person given without fail. I love the smell of a See's store! The bright black and white decor makes me feel instantly happy. Try the "Raspberry" chocolate. It's dark chocolate covering a tart, fairly solid, fuscia raspberry filling. It kicks any raspberry flavored item at Godiva's ass. If you like raspberry, you will LOVE this. Some might look at See's as a business that has not evolved with the times but I think it's right on the money! They understand what they are good at and what works. They give away free samples to everyone that walks in the door knowing that once you take a bite, there's no way you're leaving without buying something. It's pure and simple genius. My BF and I were walking by the Ala Moana location and were sucked in by my uncontrollable need to consume something sweet. Some people are alcoholics, some snort cocaine, I am undoubtedly addicted to sugar. I should probably seek professional help but am slow to admit that this problem is more than even I can handle alone. If you see me homeless and begging on the side of the street, just be kind and throw me a snickers. Within five seconds of stepping into the store I was offered a free sample of chocolate caramel. I of course consumed it immediately and delighted in my temporary sugar high while picking out an assortment of candies. I always love coming in here especially with their free samples. My favorite chocolate is the mocha and chocolate covered toffee. I was especially surprised by their customer service. I needed a few chocolate treats for my party and the girl offered to wrap each chocolate individually with the lollipops I picked out, plus put a ribbon on it while cutting the tops of the cellophane bags to a lower height. I even had a free pound gift certificate and was able to get the chocolates and lollipops with my coupon, that was two years old! Love this place and everyone is so friendly and helpful. See's Candies has been around for a long time but it was never really a store I would really go into because I don't usually have candy cravings. However, I was really craving some See's lollipops, my favorite lollipop ever! I only eat the chocolate ones. Service is nice and helpful and they give you free samples when you buy something. The sample was a macadamia nut truffle which was really good. It was sweet but the macadamia nut really balanced it out so it wasn't overwhelming. The main reason why I'm writing this review? CARAMEL DIPPED MARSHMALLOWS (aka SCOTCH KISSES)!!! No joke, these things are delicious! I'm not sure why something so simple is so good. See's caramel is particularly yummy because it's not really sticky and hard to dissolve. It's a soft chewable caramel covered in a gooey marshmallow. So yummy. You guys have to stop by and try it! This has got to be my favorite candy store on the island. One thing about See's is that it doesn't feel overpriced in there compared to its competitors. You can pretty much walk in, grab a small piece or two, and walk out. The kicker? You might even get another piece for free as a sample!
