I always enjoy visiting See's because of the free samples they offer while shopping. This location is located in a plaza that tends to get really busy because of the Trader Joe's in the same lot. If you park further down, closer to the gym, you can find a parking spot easily. Like other See's, this place was clean and had the OG ambience that other stores have. The lady working the counter was very friendly and let us know the specials. During our visit, we ended up ordering just a few treats that included a couple of the Scotchmallows, Milk Butterchew, and a Milk Caramel Pattie. All were delicious and had a perfect amount of caramel that I enjoyed. This See's Candies location has been here over a year it's located on a busy block on a lot that has a lot of parking spots it does get crowded but I always manage to find a parking nearby. See's Candies has long been a favorite of mine I'm not new to this I'm true to this -- I've been give this delicious candy as a gift for decades Mother's Day my birthday Christmas Valentine's Day and just because. Imagine being spoiled with a pound box of chocolates and a pound box of hand picked favorites of mine including suckers it's such a sweet feeling and that always made me feel special. Backstory See's is one of the best chocolatiers I have experienced in my lifetime of course I have my favorites and today's visit was all about me. I walked into the new See's Candies that's nearby Trader Joe's on Long Beach blvd it's clean and smells amazing the staff greets me as I walk inside there's a sweet smell of deliciousness in the air and the atmosphere is rife with kindness. No surprise I chose a pound hand mixed box of my favorite chocolate's Rum nougat, orange cream scotch mallows, milk chocolate almonds almond brittle, lemon & pineapple creams, vanilla caramels just to name a few and I start smiling reminiscing on the love I have experienced from all who brought See's Candies into my life over the years showing me how much they cared. I paid a grip for this candy and it's worth every dime ... I also purchased the sleeve cover on the box donating to the fire fighters who fought the Cali fires. I walk out of the building with a big smile that could light up the moon and whisper I'll see you soon yes sir this old gal is happy and cheesing walking to her car .... knowing full well that tonight I'll be in my pajamas taking a small bite out of each chocolate reminiscing down memory lane hearing my ex say why do you bite those chocolates like that and I lean over and whisper proudly because I can. My final thoughts. See's has no competition in the luxurious chocolates candy game in my opinion because how can any other company compete where they don't compare. When we came into the store, a woman handed us a sample and asked whether we needed help. I thanked her for the sample and said we were looking for Mother's Day items. She simply pointed and said they were "over there on the wall." A short time later, another customer came in, and when that person asked for help, she personally walked them over to the area and kindly explained the products in detail, which is what I would normally expect. After we found what we needed on our own, we waited in line to check out. At that point, things became even more frustrating. Some people from the back of the line rushed forward and were helped ahead of everyone else, and the salesperson allowed it without saying anything. Rather than acknowledging the customers who had been waiting and helping the next people in line, she let those who cut ahead go first as if that were perfectly acceptable. After an exchange with her at the register, I decided not to buy anything at all. I left the gifts I had selected for my mother and my wife's mother on the counter, and we chose to leave and shop next door at Trader Joe's instead. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disorganized, and unfriendly. I rarely leave negative feedback, but this interaction was disappointing and came across as quite rude. read more

Went in for one pack of lollipops and walked out with SO much more. Why? Because the staff was super cool and funny. Suggesting all kinds of chocolate combos to create unique flavors! I look at Sees in a new light now. My favorite combo so far is the chocolate peppermint and caramel apple for hot chocolate. These people are racist!!!!! So me, my Grandma, and my little sister (being a Hispanic family) watched to get some chocolates, nobody helped us, acknowledge us, or even say hi to us! There were 3 employees there and all of them were attending this other couple that had already been help, I went over to the counter and still nobody helped us! I don't know if it was because of our raise or because we looked poor but either way I would not go back to that location ever again! These workers need to be fired read more

It's definitely a great testimony of hard work and perseverance when a candy shop like this See's Candies celebrates a 1 year Anniversary. We could not pass on the happy event. A good omen is to find a parking spot in this busy shopping center. We see a line outside and hesitated. Glad we went up and saw the cause. Every person is given a chance to win a prize..all you have to do is to guess the quantity of candy in the jar. We were also handed a colorful bag to put our boxes of chocolates in during our buying spree. The store was well staffed for the occasion and Joe, the manager, gave a big thanks for the review I did on opening day a year ago. The lovely missus is way ahead of me and already wasted no time in getting boxes of peanut brittle in the bag. I'm still savoring that nice chocolaty sample. On to the display cases and more of the individual pieces she likes. We had fun, and seeing how happy customers and staff and of course seeing the decor for Lunar Year and Valentines Day, made it really festive. I showed up at 6:59 PM , right before closing, and they let me into the store. I only had to wait a few minutes after a couple of customers finished their transactions. Cheever was so very helpful suggesting what kind of stuff that she liked and asked me what I liked. It seems that we both have the same taste. Since I am totally blind, she described a couple items and they sounded great so that's what I got. I ended up with a full pound of candy to take home! She was so nice and very helpful. She even told me about sales after holidays, if you show up after a holiday anything they have left over from the holiday they have on sale! So I'm sure to show up the day after Valentine's Day.
