(So we actually loved our experience last time we promised to leave a review but totally forgot the name of the kind soul that helped us and been meaning to go back to get her name) I had visited a few times before, but didn't feel welcomed or felt like I had to chase someone down to sheepishly ask for a single sample which they begrudgingly handed over while I was the only one in the store. So it was hard to want to buy anything. That is, before Jessica. She was so knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions and offering suggestions to help us find our one true (chocolate) love. We bid adieu and walked out with some purchases of chocolate hopefully to last us a while for the sake of our wallets. So months later, finally, we went back hoping she was there and trying to remember what we liked last time (raspberry blackberry white chocolate and the blackberry dark chocolate for future reference) and would you know it, freaking Jessica chimes in from the side "Yeah last time you guys liked that one." Like wait, excuse me? You see how many people a day, a week, a month, and you remember not only our faces but also what we liked months later?? Floored. FLOORED. Of course, Jessica and the amazing team on Friday night 15 minutes before closing were amazing and happily let us try a few different things so we knew exactly what we wanted to get. 3/28/26 Shout out to Jessica, who was very accommodating and welcoming to their delightful shop. I was greeted by a wonderful lady at the Front, who was handing out samples. It was milk chocolate with hazelnuts that was simply decadent and delicious, but I must have it in dark chocolate.. Everything in its place boxes and boxes of delectable chocolates abound this chocolatier. What I love most about it is the free samples, of course, it is like Costco, but in chocolate for me. I did get a small block of the dark chocolate with hazelnut and tried about three more of their beautifully handcrafted chocolate bites, they do not skimp. Jessica was patient while I asked questions which she happily answered and tried one of the usual w/ ganache that was OK so I chose some that had some nuts in it. All in all this was a very delightful experience and would joyfully return but with small hesitation because it's just devilishly good & sinful! I've been a customer of this location for some time, but my recent experience was very disappointing. I visited with my son, and when we approached for a sample, the young woman assisting had a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. I politely pointed to a hazelnut chocolate because I wanted my son to try that specific flavor. Instead of accommodating a simple request, she told me, "You have to take the one I give you," and added that if I didn't want it, I could throw it away in the trash inside. The tone and delivery were completely unnecessary and unprofessional. I actually walked toward the trash to throw it away, but decided it wasn't even worth continuing the interaction and just left the store altogether. If the store reviews their cameras, they'll clearly see the interaction. Customer service should match the quality and reputation of the brand, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short. I hope management addresses this, because it reflects poorly on an otherwise well-known chocolatier. read more

Also shaped bonbons in ready to go boxes, chocolate truffle all looked very interesting and presented in various sized boxes. Free bites to taste on offer, we were able to sample at least 6 kinds before settling on a few , total under $20 for close to about 1/3 pound. Best consumed within days of purchase- I forgot I had a little holiday package of assorted ones and they had started to taste stale or crumbly. Still ate them haha. read more

I used to manage retail stores and what I love more than anything is how employees react in the middle of chaos. Rarely this place is packed, but this afternoon it was and one of their computers was down and one of the customers was having some issues with a gift card. I'm assuming a supervisor was immediately greeting every single person who was walking through the door and immediately apologizing that it will just be a second before we receive a delicious sample and before they get to us. While she was resetting her computer she continued to thank us for being patient while the other staff were handling other customers at the register. Every single person on the floor was polite and accommodating, offering samples and thinking us for waiting and for being patient. Brandon was definitely a standout and he is beyond amazing. My favorite chocolate at the moment, everything I tasted here was delicious! You can tell it's premium. The lady was so nice that she let me taste like 6 different pieces, couldn't make up my mind so I ended up spending close to $40. I purchased mostly the dark chocolate since that's my love, but bought white chocolate too with nuts and that was super delish as well! If you like chocolate, you must try this place. I'm obsessed. 2025 is my year of discovery of Läderach chocolate. With my first introduction at the Costa Mesa store. A few months later while at the Cerritos Mall getting something at the Apple Store, I saw there was a Läderach location here. My husband and I were lucky in that it wasn't busy. The Costa Mesa store had a frenzied line in the store, as free tastes were offered. That experience was like a TSA line at Los Angeles International Airport. I was unable to look at anything and grabbed a sampler stick box because people were jammed in that location. In Cerritos my experience was much more positive, and I told the manager right away. Julie, the store manager , shared the story of this Swiss chocolate delivered fresh on site from the company in pars, slabs, boxes of truffles, pralines, and sticks. If you've yet to go, the window has slabs of flavored chocolate that staff break pieces off from and sell. So you are purchasing chocolate bark. Variety packs are sold in sticks ( think pocky stick size) and squares( saline sized). It's a fun way to enjoy chocolate. There are traditional bon bons and cute candy forms. I just went back to the Cerritos location and there was Julie! For Christmas this year their advent calendar "house" was sold out immediately. Läderach offer advent calendars in a few options : noir ( dark chocolate), praline, kids with more conservative flavors and beautiful shapes, and a traditional advent calendar. I picked the praline calendar for my parents and my best friend, a "kids" advent and regular advent calendar for myself. They have so many options. They are ranging in price from $75-$42 dollars. They have a mini advent calendar with smaller candies for slightly less. Really a wonderful chocolate choice for enjoying with coffee or after dinner. The chocolate slabs are weighed by the pound. The reason for the lines is the tradition for the store to cut a piece to sample of something that catches your eye. Just a taste and I was ready to commit. This exquisite, high-quality chocolate shop is located in the Los Cerritos Center. It's a small shop with a display case full of individual imported Swiss chocolates as well as pre-packaged gift boxes. The congenial gentleman who helped me was very informative about the various chocolates and offered a sample of a piece of a "chocolate bark" that had some caramel-covered almonds within it. I eventually chose 6 pieces of chocolate to purchase. Two truffles I chose really stood out, Cappuccino and Bailey's, both of which were exceptional. The Moccatine, with its luscious coffee truffle filling, was heavenly as was the raspberry heart which was bursting with flavor. I forget the name of the other two but they were equally amazing. These chocolates are gourmet and the prices reflect that so expect to pay way more than you do for a Hershey bar. read more

I'm a longtime customer of Läderach and consistently go out of my way to shop here -- not only because the chocolate is exceptional, but because the customer service has always been warm and welcoming. The team, especially the older woman who works there, is usually so kind and genuinely makes the experience special. Today, however, was very disappointing. I stopped in to treat myself for Valentine's Day and was helped by a man named Brandon. From the start, his attitude felt dismissive and irritated, as if I was inconveniencing him. I asked to sample what appeared to be a new chocolate, and instead of simply clarifying, he corrected me twice in a condescending tone that made me feel uncomfortable and frankly embarrassed. This is not the level of service I've come to expect from Läderach. The brand represents quality and luxury -- and customer interaction is part of that experience. I hope management addresses this, as poor service can absolutely drive loyal customers away. Safe to say I will no longer go back there and will support another brand instead. read more

This is what I look forward to when I go to the mall. This place is my favorite chocolate shop! I went in on a weekday which was great because it's always busy on weekends. Surprisingly, parking was hard to find. But I love how close it is to the entrance of the mall. The staff were so friendly!! I got samples of their best seller (milk chocolate with roasted hazelnut). I went to get dark chocolate bars for my overnight oats. It's by far the best dark chocolate I've had. I also got my friend some dark chocolate truffles and the lady was so helpful in helping me pick some out. I had such a fun conversation with her because we were talking about everything chocolate! She also had me sample one of her favorite truffles; she was so sweet! I also got 2 pieces of some of their many chocolate bricks (strawberry and coconut). We happily walked out with about $200 worth of chocolates and gifts because, honestly, the product is flawless. A true 5-star chocolate experience. Now, the sampling situation at the entrance? That felt like I accidentally wandered into their "VIP Sample Distribution Policy," which no one told me about. I watched one guest receive what looked like a generous half-slab sample after speaking Spanish, while my family -- who was actually buying a mountain of chocolate -- got a piece so tiny I wondered if it was meant for tasting or dental flossing. Dry humor aside, the inconsistency was noticeable enough to be... well, memorable. No harm done, but it was one of those moments where you smile, nod, and think, "Ah, so this is the sample tier system." Still, the chocolate is exceptional and worth every penny. Just hoping the sampling can be a little more even-handed so everyone gets the same warm welcome. Chocolate: 5 stars. Sampling experience: a diplomatic 3 stars. Just discovered this place and I'm already hooked. I was introduced to plenty of their flavors but my favorite was the FrischSchoggi Strawberry-Curd White. Absolute heaven. Definitely a pricy yet delicious experience. I've never been into high end chocolates. Didn't really care for Godiva. Always just loved See's candy chocolates for its rich chocolate and traditional flavor options. Läderrach chocolate is produced is Switzerland and as a die hard See's candy fan, I can honestly say their chocolates are delicious. Not just the chocolates themselves, but also the flavor combinations that you may not be able to find at See's or other confectionary stores such as like raspberry, blackberry and pistachio. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon, and was greeted with delicious treats. I love trying all the bark samples, they are so good! It was a slow Tuesday in the store, but the employees were great at assisting the customers with friendly conversations and samples. I LOVE their chocolate barks. They are all so delicious and unique. My favorites are the: - Strawberry Crunch White Chocolate Bark (great taste and something lighter to eat if I am not in the mood for milk/dark chocolates) The dehydrated strawberry and crunchy pieces are super good. - Cornflake and Milk Chocolate Bark (for those who want a nice crunch with your milk chocolate). - Nut Trio Milk Chocolate Bark (candied hazelnuts, pistachio and slivered almonds all make this delicious bark yummy). - I am slowly loving the Raspberry Blackberry White Chocolate Bark, it is definitely growing on me. - The Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel is another bark that I am slowly loving. Took my friend here and we each both got 3 large pieces of bark, totaling to $45 and some change. It is not cheap, but if you have a little extra to splurge on chocolate, come here. In addition, we sampled all of the chocolate bark as we each couldn't decide which ones to buy. The customer service we received was excellent as we sampled all of the bark. I usually frequent See's Candies when I come to malls to buy chocolate for my mom but wanted to spoil her a little bit. Sure, prices are extremely high here but the quality makes up for it. Even with the high prices, you are able to sample anything you'd like. They charge an absurd amount by the pound but the best part is that you can request for any size. The price is somewhere between $55-60 per pound so definitely not for everyone. I got a tiny piece that came out to be $10 but it was the perfect size. No complaints here at all. 9/12/2024, The chocolates here are good, different varieties to choose from, service staff are good, friendly, helpful; although, one thing that I have to caution on is the steep price of $78 per pound. Came in to buy Valentines day chocolates. No one helped me for a while even though I put two boxes of chocolates right next to the cashier. Went outside and came back after 15 minutes but same thing... I had to say to Brandon (saw the name tag) to help me to pay for the chocolates. He was standing right in front of the cashier and I was standing right in front of him. Never asked me anything. I should have gone to the one in South Coast Plaza. Usually service is good and employees are helpful, but today was so bizarre. A young man attended us and my partner would ask for two of each, but he would only put one chocolate in the bag. The young man was going to place the wrong chocolate and my partner pointed it out. however, the employee whips out the chocolate we did want from the bag and just let it drop on the display. when it was time to pay, he never called us over. I was shopping at Cerritos mall and saw this shop outside of Nordstrom. Usually Sees Candies is my go to but I decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint. The chocolate was great and the customer service of Jessica was even better! She had so much knowledge about the products, how they are made, the 3 generations of family that own the company, and more. The chocolate was very creamy and flavorful! I'll definitely be coming back again to see Jessica and get more chocolate. I used to have a career in management and she is the type of employee I would have recruited for my own company if I was still in retail.
