The cashier told me the register was not reading the card. She called someone else to come help her. The other woman said the card was too old. I pointed out the "this card does not expire" statement printed on it. She kept repeating it was too old. She refused to honor the $20. That was on it. So their cards DO expire. It has candies that don't mess around with frilly fruity fillings, sticking to almonds, peanuts, caramels, and nougat fillings enveloped in dark and milk chocolate instead. Although their locations are a bit out of the way for me, they seriously have the best prices of any chocolatier. I can usually get 3x as many chocolates here than I would at most of the other chocolate stores such as the Chocolate Man, Chocolati, Godiva and more. Quality chocolates, reasonable prices, short (or no) lines, & they give you a free sample every time you go in. Now that alone, should motivate you to check See's out. read more

Free samples? That's hard to turn down. My favorite is scotch mallow. Smaller than a candy bar but bigger than a morsel. Mallow, chocolate, and caramel = my idea of a great time. Staff members are friendly and understanding. Yes, I have a chocolate problem. Yes, I would appreciate it if you would enable me by filling me with lovely samples and remaining non-judgmental when I "overdo" it a bit. Unlike most See's, this one is a stand alone store, instead of being located in a mall. I appreciate this because it's easier to run in and out without having to deal with the traffic across the street. read more

Quite pricey but thankfully my Mom gives me a gift certificate here every year for Valentine's day. I love to hand pick a pound of chocolate and enjoy it for a bit. My favorites are the pecan buds and walnut buds. YUM! In addition to their tantalizing case of truffles, nut candies, fudge, and other confections there are pre-packed boxes if you don't want to think too hard about what to get. I would like to give 5 stars because of course I love the candy, but not a fan of their pricing strategy. The candies are marked at some discounted price, but when you get to the register they ask you if you work for Microsoft or Boeing. If not then you don't qualify for the price most clearly marked. The Nuts and Chews and Assorted Chocolates were $4.00 more per box for regular people. I bought 5 boxes so paid $20 more than I expected. Not a good way to earn customer loyalty IMO. If it was obvious on the price tag that there were different prices that would be one thing, but to the casual observer this is not the case. read more

The Cashew Brittle is amazing. A. Maze. Ing. They have really, really good fruit creams, too. It's easy to get an assorted pound of favorites, which is SO much better than a sampler box of drug store chocolates. The chocolate is much higher quality, and you're not stuck with mystery chews. Received a gift card for a pound of candy here so we stopped by. The place is pretty big waste of space, they could easily fit everything they need easily in half the area. The middle of the store is complete emptiness and feels weird. They offered a free peice of chocolate which was yummy. The got a pound of assorted chocolates which is good, it retails for about 16 bucks, which seems very pricey. But I guess "gourmet" chocos do cost alot, Im just used to 50 cent snickers bar. Lots and lots of old ladies shop here, and there were several in line when trying to check out and they are very slow. I waited in line for literally 30 mins with 2 people in front of me with 2 cashiers. Yeahhhhh. Nice place to buy some good chocolates for gifts or such but I wont be back. read more

This place is adorable. The employees wear costumes - very old-timey. They are also really good at retail. Very friendly, and well staffed. They hand out samples too. A delight. I don't feel like the chocolate quality is especially high - it's not Frans or Dilettante. It's also not as expensive as those places. The packaging is very cute. They have "soft centers" and "nuts and chews" non pariels. Chocolate bunnies. Marshmallow centers. You can buy pre made boxes or fill your own. Sees is pretty good. read more

I usually like See's candies because they provide a selection of sugar free chocolate that my dear mother can eat. I have gone to pick her up a treat many times over the years. That being said, after a horrible experience I will never visit this See's again. I went in and bought a 13 dollar box of sugar free chocolates, more than I wanted to spend, but hey, it was for my mother! The lady behind the counter was so rude, I was shocked. She made it sound like I was bothering her, by being in the store! While checking out I asked if she could please break a $20 so I could just put the purchase on a debit card. She snapped back at me 'I don't even have that much money in my register.' I looked over the counter into the drawer and there was plenty of 5's and 10's. I asked her if I could just get two 10's for the 20 and she said, You have to make another purchase. I wasn't going to cause a scene so I just left. Then she stopped talking and just glared at me! I don't know how See's can afford to employ rude employees, especially in this economy. But they lost a customers in my family and anyone I talk to. read more

She gave me crap about the box sizes and didn't seem to be too clean or careful when cutting my walnut roll. I've always loved See's in part because their chocolate is delicious, but mostly because of the amazing customer service. The samples are great, not because I want to get free chocolate, but because I like to see if I like something before I purchase it. I went in today with my husband to buy some Valentine's Day chocolates. I had one sample and I didn't like it. After purchasing several more chocolates that I knew I liked, there was one flavor I wanted to try before making a decision. One of the ladies working there, named TONI, rudely told me that I couldn't have another sample because I'd already had one. I'd never had anyone at See's tell me this before. Plus, I was there with my husband who hadn't had any samples yet. If anything, they could have given me his. I don't really mind being denied a sample, but the sassy look she gave me, and the condescending way she talked to me, as if she was accusing me of trying to come in and steal as much chocolate as possible, was just really off putting. It was like she was scolding me. I definitely won't go back. What always made See's stand out was their customer service. Without that, it's just chocolate, and there are plenty of other places I can get chocolate. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because the other people who worked there were all nice. read more

I went to buy candies from See's last year and this year. I've asked to try a sample but it didn't taste the way i was expecting. I looked around again to check other candies and i've asked if I could taste it. This lady name Paulette had some candies on her hand passing it around to all of the customers next to us but intentionally only offered everyone else but me. I saw something in there that I was interested of purchasing but I asked for a sample. She came up and covered the plate in front of other customers and said to me that "you already had a piece-you are only allowed to have 1 sample piece, therefore I cannot give you another sample. I told her that I didn't like the one that they gave me coz there was a caramel inside. I told her that I was sorry that I asked for a piece. I didn't like the other candy. So, when I bought 10 packages of candy-I had to use the costco gift cards. They told me over the phone that I was able to use the $5.00 coupon for spending $35.00 or more. I spent over $35.00 so I asked for the 5.00 off-the lady Paulette said no way-we will never say that you can apply the 5.00 on top of the Costco gift card. I explained to her that I was told over the phone that I can use it. She made me look like I was crazy and that they said that they would never tell me that. I left and was feeling embarrassed about how they treated me. I will never go back there at all since i was treated so horribly about this assistant manager name Paulette. The manager came out and I didn't get her name, however, she was also sticking up with the decision that Paulette made and therefore they will never honor anything regardless of what they told you. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Maybe, I was just the only one that got treated this way. I will never go there again. read more
