Update: *Someone from corporate was able to resolve the matter. She was very kind on the phone and listened to my experience. A very different experience than the first time. I appreciate the efforts taken and I will continue to purchase chocolate from See's, because it simply is the best.* I've been a long time Sees fan but recently had an unfortunate experience. A coworker bought me a $25 gift card (from the MDR location). When I went to checkout, the gift card did not work (turns out whoever sold the card did not activate it). It was embarrassing and they told me to call the number on the back of the card. So I bought a bunch of chocolate I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. Anyway, I called the number on the card and they told me to email corporate. I was emailing back and forth with a woman from corporate named Laura Sims who ended up just ghosting me before the matter was resolved. Without a receipt, there was nothing I could do. Not even show proof that my coworker bought the gift card. So to wrap it up, my coworker paid $25, I did not receive any chocolate, and all because an employee at MDR did not activate the card. The service is fast and super nice. If you want they will let you try one. They have wrapped boxes for all holidays and special candy for all holidays. They have something that will fit into your budget. They also have great delivery from their website, but going there is just fun. Parking is easy and free. The store is so well stocked. They have different selections in boxes. For example, I just bought my husband a box of nuts and chews. That is his favorite. My daughter loves the Trinidads. My grandson will eat anything and is happy with everything. They are so good to kids. See's is some of the best chocolate you will find in the US. Try this one. Because I haven't eaten enough chocolate in the last week, I stopped in to See's Candy today to buy some bridge mix for my mom. This is her favorite candy and is a combination of caramels, chews, and nuts in little pieces. A 1 pound box is what she gets on every holiday and she cannot wait to open it and share it with all of us. I personally love the butterscotch squares and scotch mallows and cannot wait until I get out of the store to eat them. Poor customer service. The individuals working the counter can't figure out how to assist the people purchasing assorted candy boxes without having a person who is at the register with one item wait indefinitely. I walked in to purchase a bag of licorice and while I was waiting to be rung up, a woman who was in the assorted candy line conveniently acknowledged me before cutting in front of me. The employee assisting her did not offer the courtesy or common sense to say "let me ring this person (who has been waiting) first." The lady who cut in front of me went on to say, "Geeeeees, I'm sorry for cutting in front of yooou." Meanwhile, another employee came to the register and asked if I needed help with something. Yes, I'd like to make this purchase. To which she replied in confusion, "sure, after I help these people" while pointing to the long line of people wanting to get assorted candy boxes (everyone knows that line takes forever). So nobody knows how to manage a quick transaction or ensure that a customer does not rudely cut in front of another customer waiting at the register? I left without buying the licorice. I really loved this particular location. All around, i love the Marina Del Rey area as a whole. This Sees Candies has two different places to pay, which is convenient when you just want to pop in and out without having to wait in a long line. I just wanted some lollipops. I chose chocolate and cinnamon. I loved them both and can't wait to try some other chocolates. I also loved the samples my husband and I were given. That was so sweet, thank you! I look forward to my next trip. I do have one suggestion that you bring in some dark chocolate lollipops because I love dark chocolate. Ordered off their website. Got a custom 1lb box. So the website is a little weird when it comes to custom boxes -- not as user friendly as I'd like but this is a review of the Marina location, not the site. (Damnit, I should've punctuated with more commas or something). So, I never got an email from them stating that my order was ready for pickup. I was already picking something else up in the same lot, so I called. The woman (who I believe was Sandra and possibly the manger) on the phone was very nice and customer service oriented. She recalled my name/basic order makeup and said my order was ready, whenever I came in. After my first curbside pickup, I went over to pick it up. I wish See's had curbside pickup too. But I digress. I went in and there were a few people inside. Only the employees and one other customer, other than me, were donning masks. Ya, I know the legal requirement became a recommendation but we're inside a fairly small store, people. The woman at the counter addressed me upon entering with a "welcome." She seemed new-ish and asked me whether I'd wait until her manager could scan me out. I was ready to roll, as I had my wife and baby waiting in the car, but real talk, if you ask me something nicely, I'll probably be more than willing to work with you. The woman at the counter was cool and a bit overly apologetic (you're all good, don't sweat the small stuff). I reassured her that I'd wait over on the side and not to worry. See's messaged me and I now know the associate's name: Andrea. The Marina (the area) is a highly whitened and highly caffeinated area, so we love seeing our folks of color up in it. She is worth acknowledging for her customer service skills. Final Word: We'll be back again when we need our See's fix and we are close to the 90. read more

I've never shopped at this See's location before even though I frequent stores and restaurants in the same shopping center. I was the only one in the store and the two workers were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I got a pound of milk chocolate and a box of root beer lollipops. A pound is currently $27.50. I usually go to the Manhattan Beach, Westfield Culver City, Torrance, or Sherman Oaks locations, but this location is definitely worth repeat visits with the excellent customer service. read more

*See's Candies by the Sea* Sentimental Sweet Spot I grew up on See's Candies and have been eating it ever since I knew what candy was. I blame my Dad & Mom because before I was born, my Mom ate See's while I was in her tummy and I inherited my parent's candy-loving genes :) I'm at the MdR Marketplace often and it's nearly impossible for me to be near any See's Candies without the need to to cure my quick candy fix. Everyone working at this location is always sweet & kind to me - just like their candy... and I love the white outfitted uniforms & black bow tie & sweaters they still wear after all these years - just like Mary See's on the Box. What I also love about See's is they always offer free samples no matter what you buy or how much you spend. Since I don't like to eat too much sugar & chocolate nowadays, I try to limit my candy intake and I usually buy 2 things + my free sample. I have learned to have willpower but still can't resist the indulgence. My favorites are: Scotchmallows, Scotch Kisses and Molasses Chips. I first discovered the Molasses Chips in their traditional pre-made one pound boxes when I was a little boy. And due to the fact there's 3 pieces, I'd always choose it as my free sample because I could make it last longer :) I used to buy 10-20 boxes every year during the holidays and give them as gifts. And every year since I was 10 (back then I'd save my allowance and wash cars) I'd buy my parents & all my grandparents their own 1 pound box (sometimes even 2 lbs ;) of their own select boxes because they all have/had their favorites. It's so much fun picking out all the individual pieces & putting together personalized boxes. But truth be told - there were a couple years where I'd break into one of their boxes and have to go back to buy a replacement :) There's also been times I'd buy 50-100 boxes and give them to clients as gifts for the holidays. I've always loved this Candy Shop in the Marina. Yesterday on 12/18/24, I went into the store as usual. But yesterday I was charged double for an item. Upon arriving home I checked my bag and discovered this error. I immediately called the store and they asked for the name of the employee, which I gave them, they apologized and promised a refund immediately. Later I received a text stating I would have to come to the store to receive the credit. Once I returned to the store the employee shared that for some reason that the scanner scans twice. So naturally... all I could think about was chocolate, more specifically, SEE'S. Came in for Easter candy with my service animal. After standing in line for 5-6 minutes holding my puppy due to multiple pieces of chocolate all over the floor (deadly for animals) I was told by the sales representative no dogs. I explained he's a service animal and she said it doesn't matter. I said if I sit him on the floor he's likely to pick up chocolate on the floor. She ignored me and I simply said then you're losing business and she replied, that's fine." Poor experience around a holiday to say the least.
