The chocolate-covered cream puffs are by far my favorite. The soft puff on the outside combined with the cool, creamy filling inside just melts in your mouth, all wrapped in a gentle chocolate coating. Highly recommend!

I grew up in West LA and have been coming here for years. My go-to cakes are the mocha and the vanilla with strawberry, both fluffy, moist, and not overly sweet, with light frosting. You can pre-order by phone or in person, but you can also stop by day-of and see what's available. It's a small shop and can get crowded, especially on weekends, but service is always excellent. They're always so sweet, patient, and if you have any questions they will help you. There's a small parking lot (very limited) or street parking on Centinela.

angel maid's yummy pumpkin pie!!! mmm..

Grew up on AM Bakery. So watching it evolve over time always is done in comparison to what you've known it to be. In my case and in my friends' cases who always grew up on AM, it's still good but definitely missing the same pizzazz. The cake my friend recently bought was a bit dry. The strawberries were ok. I know, albeit the season... that's uncontrollable. But the cake part was a bit dry. :( But still go back here for the pumpkin pies in the fall. The vibe here is less of a family feel but that happens. The parking is rough. The following will always be there because it's a Japanese American community staple in this side of town. These days I think I will still travel a bit farther for my other fave when my schedule permits. Cream puffs here are the bomb though!! Probably over the cake now.... They are always busy so may need to stop in to order your cake vs. calling them.

Ambiance: it's a spacious bakery store, but only limited parking spots in front of the establishment, most shelves look empty inside Service: disorganized and no clear lines to serve the customers. I saw the last piece of certain cakes first, but someone else took it, I'm sure customers were not intentionally cutting through, but it's just chaotic, and they wouldn't restock it Food: limited choices of cakes and pastry stuff CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY ROLL - **** chocolate cake, fresh strawberries, whip cream, fluffy and not overly sweet, recommend Price: decent quality and reasonable prices, it costs about $6 for each slice of cakes

I go here for cakes all the time. Always passionfruit chiffon. I really should try others but this cake is soon good. You should get it too.

I've been coming here since I was a child. It brought back so many memories when I picked up my son's birthday cake. Simply amazing. Beautiful and the flavors are spectacular. We got the passionfruit chiffon. Stellar!!

Found a white hair in my cake

This place went downhill especially in customer service ... we went to pick up few cakes to celebrate my late father's birthday/Father's Day. As we were eating we found a white hair in the cake, so I called them to just to inform them about the hair inside the cake. The person who answered the phone wasn't apologetic or sympathetic at all. Instead all she did was to tell me everyone wears hats around the cakes... always want to support a small business but this was such a disappointment. They used to be super nice. And the cakes used to taste much better.

Thank you Angel Maid. Marble cake with no custard or fruit filling. Easy on the whip cream. Cake was so delicious!!

If you're ever by Marina Del Rey, make sure to stop by this bakery. My go to are their mini cream puffs, esp the chocolate-dipped ones! The choux pastry has the perfect crisp exterior without being dry. The custard filling is heavenly has vanilla bean bits, silky, rich and not overly sweet. You can tell they use quality ingredients. When I visited in 2024 they were $1.00 each, affordable & perfect to bring to a party/ gatherings.. or to have it all yourself! They also offer custom cakes, and I've tried their tres leches cake which was moist without being soggy, just the right balance of sweetness and creaminess. Whether you're looking for a treat or a special occasion cake, Angel's Maid delivers great quality pastries at reasonable prices.

I've known about Angel Maid for decades because every Christmas a relative brings their fabulous cream puffs for dessert, but this was my first actual visit. They seem to specialize in special orders and pre-orders, mostly cakes. I did a pre-order myself for a fruit tart. All orders are done by phone or in-person, nothing on-line. You pay at pick-up. Charmingly old-school! Angel Maid is located on busy Centinela Ave and has exactly 2 parking spots in their lot, one is for handicapped. Street parking was fairly easy. I picked up my gorgeous-looking fruit tart without incident, and also got a few items on-site: a pretty pinwheel danish with apricot and raspberry toppings, plus a maple-frosted tea cake. There were a few items in-store that were single-serving size. More evidence of the bakery's old-school ways: when paying, there's no computer screen they turn around to encourage/force you to add a tip! There wasn't a tip jar either. The fruit tart was as delicious as it was beautiful; I'm pretty; sure our relative brought one of these for Christmas before. The tea cake was fine, but the pinwhhel danish was exceptional, with flaky puff pastry dough and very delish jam toppings, especially the raspberry. If I only lived closer...

Purchased this absolutely delicious chocolate mousse cake for Easter. It was beautifully decorated with paper flowers and little mini candy coated almonds.. stunning! This might be my new favorite flavor from Angel Maid!!

I've been disappointed with this bakery because their signature cake "strawberry shortcake" can not be made in advance. You would have to get up at and make line at 7am but doesn't guarantee you the cake. I was in line at 7:20am (first in line ) 4 people behind me , including an elder person (looked like 70+ years old) all in line for the same cake. Excuse: strawberries not in season although they usually are between Feb - Oct.

The service needs serious improvement. The employee working the register was neither friendly nor helpful, which set a disappointing tone from the start. We ordered a full sheet marble cake with chocolate mousse filling, but what we received was completely different. The cake itself was plain white, and the filling was hard and dense--nothing close to the light, airy texture you would expect from a mousse. To make matters worse, we were charged extra for this "mousse" filling, which ended up being nothing like what we have experienced before from this bakery. Given the high price, I expected a quality product. Instead, the cake tasted and looked like it had been put together at the last minute. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Ask the Community - Angel Maid Bakery

Do they take mobile orders over the phone? Tried calling but to no avail?

Yes, but their phone line is often busy.

Hello? I would like to know about the price of 1/4 sheet cake for baby shower?

Prices vary by flavors and decorations. Give them a call and they can tell you the cost. They are really good

Are they open the day after Thanksgiving?

    Yes.

How do you place an order here? They've been closed (and say not to leave a voice mail) or the phone line has a busy signal for the past 3 days...

They are closed Mondays, so do not answer on that day. Try calling in the morning, after 8:00 AM.

Are they open for pickup during quarantine?

No, they are not open during the stay home stay safe campaign. They will be open once it is lifted for non-essential businesses.

Is the bakery open and taking orders for custom cakes during this time of la city lockdowns?

    Open now

I've called several times and their line is busy. Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes just keep trying. I think their fax line and regular line are one, so I've called before and had the fax line answering for a few phone calls. I've also called numerous times and their line is busy. You'll eventually get through!

How much does a box of the chocolate covered cream puffs cost?

    1box $14 (16 pc) super delicious

Can you order a small cake one day before you need it?

You can order a small cake day of, whatever they have in stock first come first serve. They will usually write a message on the cake free of charge.

Does anyone know if they changed phone numbers? Every time I call it says it's busy.

I got through after several tries this afternoon (using the number on Yelp)

Are they closed January 4th 2019?

They usually close 2 weeks at some point during Christmas holiday.

Does Angel Maid make Apple Pie's?

I'm not sure, but I didn't see any in the display case on my last visit.

    Can you order online?

No, you can not order online. In person only. Occasionally on the phone if they know you and it's a simple cake order.

Anyone tried the German Chocolate cake?

    Yes, very decadent!

Is the dobash cake similar to the one you can get at King's Hawaiian in Torrance?

i've not had either of their dobash cakes

Doing a birthday last minute, how soon can they have a cake for me?

    they have cakes on hand.

Can you make a Garbage Truck cake or a Fire Truck cake?

I'm Sure they can. Look at my pictures, they can do about anything!!

Since we got there early, we had our pick of seating and opted for a table on the beautiful outside patio. The breakfast menu is small but has all the classics - eggs Benedict, avocado toast, pancakes, etc. I was in a ravenous mood, so I opted for the ever decadent Croque Madame and a Spanish latte. The Croque Madame was as rich and indulgent as I'd hoped it be, with every bite oozing with runny egg yolk and creamy bechamel sauce. I liked that it came with a side salad of mixed greens, which made me feel slightly better about scarfing down all that buttery goodness. I really liked the Spanish latte as well, and I'm glad they were able to accommodate my requests for less ice and sweetness. Throughout the morning, the servers continually checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The restaurant ended up getting packed as we were finishing up, so it took a while to flag down a server for the check. The restaurant is conveniently located near the metro station and the Platform mall, and there's a large parking garage across from the mall as well as metered street parking. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and overall experience at Bianca, though I was a little shocked by the prices for the portion sizes. With that being said, I would consider coming back to try some pastries, as I hear that the bakery is the real star of the show.

Where do I even begin with the magic of this place?!…read more This has become one of my absolute favorite spots and every single time I go, I end up finding something new to obsess over. The Paris Roma sandwich is chef's kiss. The bread is the perfect mix of soft on the inside while still being beautifully toasted. The tomatoes and cheese taste incredibly fresh, and whatever magical spread they put on it... I need the recipe because WOW. This is a refreshing sandwich! The Sea-trus salad is another favorite. It somehow manages to be light, refreshing, and still filling. The lox and veggies are unbelievably fresh and everything just works together perfectly. Love the lightness of the dressing. This will not disappoint! If I'm in the mood for something a little heartier, I go for the tomato soup and half truffle grilled cheese. I LOVE this combo. The truffle flavor is spot on and not overpowering at all. Comfort food done right. Now for the best part... dessert (my personal weakness). The canelés are my obsession. I actually buy multiple little bags of the mini ones to have with my morning coffee. They remind me of the perfect cross between crème brûlée and French toast. Crispy outside, soft center, absolute perfection. The St. Honoré is a little pricier, but worth every penny and I usually order more than one. The cream is light with a subtle vanilla flavor and those little pastry puffs on top are pure magic. This is more of an elegant, delicate dessert rather than something rich and intense. And then... yesterday I tried a chocolate dessert for the first time and I wish I remembered the name because I have not stopped thinking about it. It was a chilled circular chocolate mousse covered in chocolate with hazelnut and it was honestly PERFECTION. I don't even know how to describe it properly. Rich, smooth, balanced... I had it with coffee and it was one of those desserts you immediately plan on ordering again before you've even finished it. This is more of a rich dessert! Beyond the food, the owner and staff are incredible. They are warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely make this place feel special. You can tell they care deeply about the experience, not just the food, and it shows in everything they do.
