This is another classic See's shop where you just cannot go wrong. With excellent chocolates, all the variety you'll ever need, and excellent customer service, it's a great stop on the north side of Reno, especially if you're heading into the wilderness on the way to Susanville with almost no businesses for 90 minutes!. Perhaps the only knock against them is that the Scotch Kisses, my favorite item, were a little stale, hence the only See's that has ever failed to get a five-star rating from me. Everything else lived up to the See's tradition.

When I first moved to Reno from the east coast, I didn't understand everyone's obsession with See's. I grew up on Whitman's Sampler and Russell Stover chocolates, which are very inexpensive. I didn't get what was so compelling about more expensive See's Candies. NOW I understand, though, and I agree that it's worth the hype. The quality of the chocolate is so high, and the customer experience you get from going into the store is exceptional. They have lots of pre-packaged options, but I get the 1 lb box so that I can pick out all the random chocolates that I know my husband likes. The employees are so friendly, and they both take their time while being cognizant of customer throughput. They always end up making me feel special for buying special chocolate for my sweetie.

Last fall, I went in person to ask about ending my lease early and was told there was no option to do so. I was not informed that there was a formal written process or specific email required to submit a cancellation request. After that, I waited for a renewal notice or any communication about my lease timeline, but never received one. I also checked the vendor portal and could not find clear information about my lease terms or renewal date. I made multiple attempts to call, but the voicemail box was full, and I wasn't able to leave messages. I also sent an email and did not receive a response. Eventually I was able to reach someone, and only then was I given the correct email to submit my request--which I did immediately. I was also told I could sublet my space and found someone ready to take it. Later, I was informed that subletting was not actually possible due to tax reporting, which caused me to lose that opportunity. I understand that there are policies in place, but I made consistent good faith efforts--in person, by phone, by email, and through the portal--to understand and follow the process, and I did not have access to the correct information at the time. I'm sharing this in hopes that corporate can review situations like this, as better communication and clearer processes would make a big difference for vendors.

A good friend who is practicing witchcraft introduced me to this store and it was more than I expected. Not only does it sell various witch items, but it also sells nontoxic, zero waste products like soaps, lotions etc. And many of them support other small businesses. My favorite part is the gum ball machine that had small tarot cards inside. While I'm not well versed in this, the owner kindly explained the meaning and it was rather accurate to me at the time. This tiny shop is worth a quick stop if you are in this corner of Midtown even if you are not super witchy. The shop keepers were super friendly and welcoming! There were 3 things that stood out to me about this little shop. 1) I was surprised to find a pretty decent selection of eco-conscious bath and home products, including Stasher Bags in various sizes and colors. 2) There is a TerraCycle recycle box for difficult to recycle containers (like makeup). I wish these were available at more businesses! These recycle boxes are not free to the businesses that have them, so keep that in mind. 3) Griselda, the Tarot card gum-ball machine! 50 cents will get you the cutest miniature tarot reading. There is a handy book next to the tarot-ball machine so that you can interpret your card. In addition to my favorite things above, Coyote Supply Co also has spiritual incense and candles, eco-conscious cleaning products, health and beauty products, and small gifts like cards, pins, and stickers.
