1/17/2024- I lasted a month with the cafe latte little pops.. Back again, but this time I also got the lollipops..(thinking for my road trip back to Elk Grove soon)... One might do better (and at a higher cost) with a local specialty chocolate shop or poorer at the local drug store (Russell-Stover when I grew up). But for the variety, samples, taste, and service, See's continues to be a good value for the money. The only real downside of this See's outpost is finding it within a fairly large and busy Meadowood Mall. The Mall directory helps once the orientation confusion subsides. Once here, we found the well designed, clean, and well lit store that we expected. We picked up a few pre-wrapped 1 pound boxes for a local fundraiser, and then proceeded to the front counter to pick out individual chocolates for ourselves and Gayle's Mom. The staff is super friendly and very efficient, especially since it's the busy holiday season. Lots of nice options for gifting. I like to keep a few boxes on hand for last minute gifts or party treats. The candies are on the pricey side but yoi are gettong a trused brand and good quality. I rarely buy See's Candies and when I do, it's normally during the holidays because I'm at the mall. The store always smells amazing and is kept so clean and organized, it could rival any hospital. The counter ladies are so friendly and as sweet as their inventory. I like how See's has a bountiful collection of different flavors from milk to dark, even sone sugar-free varieties but hands down my all-time favorite is their Bordeaux, which cones in truffle or bar form, and is a creamy brown sugar soft center covered in milk chocolate and decorated with chocolate sprinkles). It's very decadent but if you're gonna treat yourself, you might as well go big or go home. read more

We ordered a hand-packed box and she ensured we had a perfect amount of the pieces we requested. The store was fairly empty when we arrived, or we wouldn't have requested a hand-packed box, but got very busy as we ordered. However, Margaret ensured we got exactly what we wanted and luckily there was plenty of staff on hand to take care of other customers. Really great that See's is open. as usual, you can pick a prepackaged box or they can handpick them for you. They seem real eager to help and glad that they are reopen. My wife and I love the candy here but unfortunately, I recently learned I'm allergic to chocolate and nearly every one of their candies as a result. Not a big deal if you don't have allergies but it's started me wondering about the quality of their products. Time changes all things. The bigger you get, the more you're worth. The more you're worth, the greater the temptation to lower one's standards. I'm also very disappointed that every year the price seems to get higher and higher. I buy our friends a box of suckers for Christmas every year and I'm going to have to start reducing the size of the box I buy them or look for sales/specials in order to continue this tradition. Even if I want to surprise Mrs. E, why would it cost more than $40 for a couple pounds of chocolates? It's also aggravating to wait in a line that is out the door and down the hallway around Christmas time. They used to do a kiosk in the mall's hallway but now they don't so you just have to wait if you want to build your own box of chocolates which requires incredible patience. Patience Steven E. does not possess. I recently heard a rumor that they have a satellite location in south Carson in the strip mall near Trader Joe's. How could a person dislike See's Candies? My weakness is Dark Almonds, I buy some every time I am in the mall. You have to love the free sample too. If I like the free sample I normally buy a few dollars worth of them too. The staff is always nice and knowledgeable. If a person is buying several different candies they'll suggest buying as a package to save money rather than paying for several different candies. This is based on the rudeness of the woman who works there. She yelled at a woman who accidentally walked in without her mask up and then talked in a very rude manner about the customer with another employee after she left. Wow. The holiday spirit is not at See's candy. Which is sad because a lot of people go there for Holiday shopping! My most recent visit to See's was tainted by a lady behind the counter forbidding anyone from going to the register out of order. Seems logical except that we, and others, were grabbing premixed boxes from the shelves and we were forced to wait for the people selecting candy from behind the glass. I can't begin to explain how inefficient this process was! Why wouldn't you ring up someone who is ready rather than have them wait behind someone building a custom mix chocolate box? For Pete's Sake lady, you might get paid by the hour but I have other places I need to be! People walked out of the store because of it and still, the lady would not cave. Thankfully another woman appeared who understood how absurd this whole situation had become. She was lovely and probably saved us from dying a slow death in that line. read more

It's chocolate so that already is 4 stars. But the other star is for the service. I wanted to get a box for me and some gifts for the office but I didnt know how small sizes and prices worked. The girl behind the counter was so patient even though they were full. The shop is small so it was crowded. She helped my really fast and I got 5 mini bags with like 5-7 pieces each and a 2 lb box for me. I much prefer this sees location to the other in town.
