I completed 6 weeks of physical therapy at Select Physical Therapy in Cypress for a foot issue, and it improved my quality of life. My therapist was Erika, and she gave me excellent guidance and tools to deal with my debilitating foot pain. She was so pleasant to work with and was very patient with me as I was learning how to do the different exercises she crafted for my case. All the staff are friendly and genuinely care about their patients. I enjoyed my early morning visits because there were fewer people around, so it made it easier to move around the working area. I always brought some water with me because some of the exercises felt like a full workout. I recommend booking your visits in advance as appointments can fill up quickly. I sit in the parking lot leaving my last visit for a while and find myself sad that I won't have an appt for a couple months. Cassie, Madison and Amanda are the only reason I make it through the week. Im struggling with a work injury and dealing with workers comp has been beyond stressful. But the staff here has been supportive, validating yet assertive in their approach to my treatment. I was very apprehensive in coming to PT. I didn't know what to expect. My injury doesn't involve blood and surgery - it's a nerve issue so you can't see it. I was shocked to see so many people who seemed uninjured like myself, dealing with issues that aren't visible. It comfortable here. I'm not treated like my injury doesn't exist. It's validated. I'm understood. I am very grateful for the team at Select PT. I came here after experiencing severe sciatica and piriformis pain. Matthew was my PT. He was great to work with, really knowledgeable, and just genuinely concerned with my improvement. I felt much better after two sessions; (I did my exercises at home in between sessions). Everyone at the front was really nice, too. Summer of 2021 I was diagnosed with lumbar Spinal Stenosis. Started PT with Karla for pain management and strengthening. Within 3 months the PT was causing numbness, tingling and heaviness in my legs. The last straw was when one of the Physical Therapists suggested the increase in symptoms was in "my head." I switched to MoveWell Physical Therapy and have had a much more productive experience. Their exercises strengthen my back and buttocks without causing pain. I work with a Physical Therapist the entire hour and never an assistant. read more

I have been going to a Select physical Therapy group in Anaheim, CA. They are so nice and helpful, however the one in Cypress is very difficult to work with. Claudia is the receptionist and will not give me an appointment. She says I am not covered. She is abrupt and when I asked for her supervisor she gave me the wrong number twice. I had to call another Select and they gave me the correct number. I have now straightened things out. Not sure if I even want to go there if everyone is as abrupt and rude as she is. read more

Throughout the month of January, 2006 I was unable to sit comfortably without shooting pains down into my leg, and was under a physician's care for pain management and such. Like an ass, I committed to traveling up to SF for business, and that's when I biffed it big time. That night I came home and was in so much pain I was just barely able to keep from screaming. Since we had a small sleeping kid in the house at the time, my husband stayed home with them and my Mom drove up at around 2am to take me to the ER at Los Al Med Center when I just couldn't take it any more. That next morning I woke up (after the fab shots from the ER wore off) to numbness in my left foot and up my left calf, and the feeling there hasn't returned to this day. I had an MRI and went to consult with a neurosurgeon. The MRI showed I had ruptured/herniated/blown a disk in my lower back -- the L5, S1 to be exact, and that I'd definitely be requiring some PT. It was also around this time I found out I was pregnant, so my surgical and pharmaceutical options were pretty limited. My internal medicine doctor referred me to the team at Physiotherapy, since her partner does a lot of sports medicine. They hooked me up with Kristi LaVardera, who at the time was one of the principle PTs there (she has since moved to their Torrance location,) and she and I just hit it off immediately. I set up a routine there of treadmill, exercise and massage therapy under Kristi's great care and instruction. I know I would not have survived my pregnancy so well without them. Even the receptionist, Jill, is the best, and all of the younger PT techs are great -- friendly, encouraging and professional (or funny and unprofessional when the opportunity presents itself.) This location caters to a lot of high school kids since it's not far from Los Al High, and you'll see a lot of sports injuries in young athletes, which is hard to watch. Regardless, everyone seems to be getting great care there, and I highly recommend them if you're ever in need of physical therapy. read more

I'm a former Patient/Client and below are only my opinions Are you looking for a Physical Therapy office? STOP don't look any further, you've chosen the right place. Why choose the Cypress Physiotherapy office? This office is ran by Director Karla and her staff here, first and foremost are very professional, caring, and looking after your well-being as a Patient/Client. There are two Physical Therapist in this office Carla and her aide Jessica and my Physical Therapist Lesley and her aide Matt, they are a good team and all work together to take care of the Patient/Client. In the main room, there is a TV or music, there are 6 Patient/Client tables (2 fixed height tables and 4 adjusting height tables), four electro stimulation machines, a treadmill, a stair stepper, a standing bicycle, a shoulder and two weight machines, different sizes exercise/weighted balls , free weights and exercises bands. What I've learn about Physical Therapy Physical Therapy responsibility belongs to the Physical Therapist and the Patient/Client. The Physical Therapist responsibility is get the Patient/Client almost near and/or the mobility they once had. The Patient/Client responsibility is to listen to the Physical Therapist and do the exercise at home. Also to provide honest feedback how the Physical Therapy is working for you. Strength training could reduce pain (with guidance by your Physical Therapist) After you complete your Physical Therapy sessions, Physical Therapy at home has to be ongoing to keep the mobility My Physical Therapist (Lesley) and her Aide (Matt) (They both ROCK!!!!!!) I had shoulder surgery and came to Physical Therapy after the surgery. By the direction from Lesley, Matt was my day to day person that got me started, first providing heat therapy, and then stretching exercises to lengthen the muscle, then eventually weight training for strengthening the muscle. Matt ensured that I was conducting my exercises and made changes to my exercises to slowly strengthen my shoulder muscle. Lesley did the actual stretching of my shoulder (with control) and pushed me to my limit. Yes I was grinding my teeth a few times, but I know that she was doing her job. One day Lesley push me to my limit and without me realizing it, Lesley told me "did you realize that you made a fist", I didn't and we both laughed. More was said, but you had to be there. Lesley has to push you to your limits because your muscle has memory, like a rubber band. You stretch it, then it comes right back, but in order for you to get your mobility back, you have to stretch your muscle over the 50 percentile in order for the muscle/mobility will start to come back. The Office Manager (Jill) Jill assists the Patient/Client scheduling of their appointments, billing and keeps the on track when you have to pay. You can pay in advance (weekly in my case), or by daily when you come in. Jill is very helpful and will help with billing issues between the local office and home office. read more

For over a year I have been going to Select Physical Therapy for several job related injuries. The entire staff was always so helpful and encouraging. I had some doubts if I was ever going to get better without having some major surgeries. After 3 sessions at another PT on Atlantic Avenue where there was no social distancing and the place appeared dirty My doctor highly recommended Select Pt. I was a patient there probably 20- 25 years ago and remembered it for the friendliness and professional staff. Luckily it is the same way now. Totally clean totally socially distancing you walk in staff is wonderful to you, every single PT person greet you manager walks around and greets everyone and you can tell that everyone is happy there because of management style. They are losing a wonderful PT student who is graduating with her masters, Lily. I totally enjoy going there and I know I'm going to be healed so much faster then I would be staying at the other place. Stopped in on a Monday and gave my insurance information to a young man at the front desk since every one was busy. I was told someone would call me on Wednesday and go over what my financial obligation would be for upcoming physical therapy. When no one called, I called back and talked to a very rude woman (sounded young) who told me if I was having "financial troubles" that the best thing to do would be to call my Insurance Company directly. I told her I wouldn't go into spending any money on anything without doing some research first. The question I had for her was if their facility billed physical therapy as an office visit or as an out patient treatment, a very fair question. She again told me that if I had "financial restraints" to call my insurance company which I had already told her I had done several times. I told her we all have financial restraints in life including herself. I told her if you have so much money why do you need to go to work? She told me it was obvious I was having a bad day and hung up on me. NO BULLSHIT. I never lost my temper, we all have to do our due diligence to access any financial responsibility we have in our lives. Rude, unprofessional and lazy. All she had to do was confirm what I had been told by my insurance and give me a quote for in network physical therapy. Sounds simple enough to me. read more

This is my 3rd week at Physiotherapy and I love it! My surgeon sent me here after a manipulation of my left knee. Leslie was the first therapist I saw and she is awesome! I will say that everybody that works there is awesome. Once you walk in and you see Jill who remembers everybody, to the PTA's and other staff who are all welcoming. They are all supportive and take the time to listen and answer your questions. It makes going there fun even when you know it is going to hurt like heck. I visited Physiotherapy Associates after many failed attempts of trying to resolve a hiking injury through other forms of treatment. I was initially intimidated by the commitment of getting PT on a regular basis, but after the first week I realized that it was actually rather enjoyable since I was able to exercise in a nice, friendly environment. I started PT here about three weeks ago to rehab my knee after patellar tendon repair/reattachment surgery. Lesley (MPT) did my initial assessment and first session. She was great at explaining the rehab process and overall goals. Karla (DPT) and Jessica took it from there. I feel I've made great progress from day one and my rehab is on track thanks to the awesome staff at Physiotherapy Associates. The facility has all the latest equipment for any type of PT. i am back... I came here a couple-three years ago after shoulder surgery. the surgery was a success- the physical therapy was a success!! at the end of therapy my shoulder worked better than it had in decades. i was very happy with the therapy. even though they made me do stupid little exercises, i didn't understand why, but the end results all made sense...lol i am back after having some issues with what i thought was my shoulder, but is really my neck this time. within a couple weeks i was off the pain meds.. whew what a relief!!! now i am just working on range of motion issues. i am confident i will end my visits here with everything working like it should. thank you karla and all the fine employees at this office!!! read more
