I had 12 appointments and worked with 7 different physical therapists. They do not try to keep you with the same person. A few would have been fine, but 7 is just excessive. I didn't get to build rapport or have a clear idea of goals or progress or anything. Each appointment I tried to pay and they told me I didn't owe anything. I got the big bill a few months later. It would have been easier to pay as I went along. I'm not sure why they couldn't determine my copay that entire time- they had 12 weeks. I have never encountered that. Can't recommend, I wouldn't return. read more

I've been to many different physical therapy facilities and I have to say that this is the best. The staff is very friendly, very involved and are aware with your reason for your PT and monitor your progress closely. They help you and actually pay attention to you and your exercises and adjust them according to your pain level. You are never unattended. Fantastic friendly Therapists that greet you by name after you walk in. They always assess you and your needs as you get started. Anything new or uncomfortable is the top concern. They are very clear and concise in explaining the exercises and they let you know what, where and how each exercise will be of benefit I've had 3 knee surgeries, 2 hip replacements, 2 shoulder surgeries, tore both Achilles tendons at the same time along with a few back injuries.... So I've had plenty of physical therapy and "Ideal Therapy" is to date the best and most comfortable group of people I've dealt with. I've observed how they treat their other patients with care and concern, each one independently from the next. Some need the gentle encouragement of a softer approach, all the way to the "let's get after it" approach at the other end of the spectrum. The atmosphere is always upbeat and positive along with always wanting to make sure the patient knows and understands the benefits of each exercise. Also I can't say enough about the staff! Every type of work environment would benefit from having a crew like the group that runs the Los Alamitos location. I feel that great effort has been taken to put this group together and running so smoothly! Hopefully I will never need physical therapy again... but if I do I most definitely will be back here because as I said -this is the best that I've experienced in all of my injury related situations. read more

Update on my previous review: After seeking real care from a sports therapist/chiropractor, I was advised to get an MRI. The MRI showed severe narrowing of my central spine and a large posterior disc herniation which was causing my pain. This is the same pain that John wrote me off for and gave me a basic stretching routine to treat. Ideal Therapy is a joke of a practice. Can't imagine the long term effects I would've endured from this injury had I continued going to Ideal Therapy. Do not waste your money and health here. read more

I've really been impressed working with Dominic at Ideal physical therapy. During my second visit I provided detailed comments regarding which exercises were uncomfortable and which were too easy, and he eliminated some, provided additional exercises that were more rigorous, and modified those that were uncomfortable to make them more suitable to my needs. At each of out biweekly sessions he has continued to do so as my condition improves, resulting in a noticeable improvement since starting physical therapy. I've also noticed that this location has therapists working one on one with patients, which is different than I've seen at other PT locations in the past (where they might have 3-4 people per therapist). Overall I'd highly recommend Ideal Physical therapy! read more

Very lack luster... My fist appointment I walked in and didn't really know where to go as it's just one big room. After I checked in, I was to to sit in a chair all by itself very off centerd and about 8' away from the PT who is sitting but has his laptop on a stand so you can barely see him. I sat down no pleasantries from him. He said you're here for your hips? I said no, I'm here for my Pelvis tilt, SI Joint. He starts typing, I continued to tell him my pain etc..I said I had some questions he looked annoyed still typing said ok what's your questions not looking at me. I asked specific questions re what I like to do ie ebike, dancing, pickleball and if I should continue or hold off for now? I also told him I was going to the Philippines in a month and was concerned about the 15hr flight He was more than vague more like rude in his answers, "if it hurts stop doing it", "I don't know how you dance", "maybe ride less distance" I asked about a couple of machines at The gym If They were bad for my back, again no suggestions just non committed answers all the while still typing. Over all he was just not friendly and basically rude. He printed out a paper handed it an male intern with a long dangly earing (same earing as another male intern there) to show me some exercises. Intern never once anything about my form, All the exercises were exercises to do while I was on the flight which wasn't for another month. Over all between the vibe, music, no real interaction with the actual PT(felt like he was hiding behind his computer, really strange)all the interns/workers just sitting around talking, it felt very unprofessional, you feel just like a number and basically more a bother than a patient who deserves respect and understanding. read more

I have had this terrible shoulder pain for a couple of years now, nagging me at night and causing me to lose sleep. I've tried several pillows and topical creams. I came to Ideal after going to other physical therapy places. I've been coming to Ideal for a couple of weeks. I already see a significant improvement. I find their staff to be friendly and their treatments to practical and effective. I finally can sleep again and feel my shoulder getting stronger already. This was the second time I've use ideal therapy and both times the quality of care was excellent.

After waiting over 2 weeks to get an appointment to relieve vertigo by the coveted canalith procedure that can only be done by someone qualified to reset crystals in the inner, my experience was less than ideal. Although I could barely turn my neck, I was not offered ice, or any other treatment to help alleviate the stiffness. When the therapist had me lie down, he cradled my head and barely moved it He then gave me a sheet of paper with exercise I could have gotten over the internet. When I asked, when am I getting the procedure, you just got it was the reply. I could not believe it!!! The chirp came over and said most patients go on the internet and do it themselves! What a waste of time, the effort of my primary physician's referral team who worked hard to find me the right therapy and insurance money that paid for nothing. The less than ideal team was all male, a sad testament to disinterested, non listening, non caring patriarchy . I have never been so dissed, by any medical professional. Run, run, run! read more
