Bbq wings were fabulous and for $12 I got about 20 wings..... Charcuterie board was delightful. Caesar salad was ok, not enough bacon though. Crime brûlée was to die for. Lemon meringue pie was fantastic. Donal from Dublin was our server and was a great personality. The French maître d was a cool cat too

It was hot day with humidity in Calgary. We were visiting the Heritage Park. After we saw Gasoline lane( old car museum), walked a little bit. The park looked huge, we walked back, stopped here. It was cool and dark inside. The host lady gave us a table between entrance door and the patio door. I asked her a booth near. We wanted to sit down and relax. That's it. We just had a huge Korean lunch in Calgary! It was happy hour time. I had local IPA which was excellent. Away from our group, having beer with veges was a very great idea. Actually we wanted tea in a tea house, but it was full.

Risotto with curried lentil and potato patties served with maple glazed carrots (a vegan meal made on request!).

After receiving a gift certificate to Selkirk Grille, I delayed using it as I wrongly assumed I couldn't eat here due to being a vegan and all the menu items I saw contain meat. After about six months of holding onto said gift certificate I decided to give them a call and found they were more than happy to accommodate me and my vegan needs! I called and spoke to a friendly lady in the morning and made a reservation for later that evening as she informed me that the chef would prepare a special meal just for me! Not knowing what that would be, I didn't have high hopes when I arrived, but the waitress was warm and friendly as she told me the Chef had so much fun, spending all day planning my vegan meal just for me! I felt so special! First was a lovely crisp salad with walnuts and tomatoes... But the main course, oh my, it was one of the delicious things I have ever had in my life! The chef prepared a risotto, which was cooked to perfection, with green beans and asparagus mixed in. It was creamy and the rice was firm. On top of the risotto were two of the most delicious things I have ever eaten, curried potato and lentil patties. Soft yet firm, lightly curried and just stunning, like soft pillows of heaven! Also on my plate were maple glazed carrots, which the waitress informed me are grown on site hydroponically, they were a wonderful accompaniment to the dish. I am giving this restaurant a 5 star review. Having learned that their chef spent all day coming up with a special dish just for me was just the most lovely thing, to be accommodated so easily and with such warm friendliness! I will be coming back to Selkirk Grille in the future and would recommend them to anyone with a special diet, as I know now they will go above and beyond to ensure you have the most pleasant experience!

The restaurant is located in a little strip mall across from Chinook Centre and has plenty of parking. I had made reservations online but it really wasn't necessary as there were plenty of tables available. The decor inside is very seafaring, fishermen, lobster trapper vibe which is cool. Our server Ayah asked if we were celebrating anything and upon hearing of a birthday told us that she would provide us a complimentary sundae for dessert. Nice! We started with escargot and seafood stuffed mushrooms to start. They were both good - we always like to try how other places does the escargot. Not the best here but it wasn't bad. I did enjoy the stuffed mushrooms though. It was Wednesday when we came which means Fish & Chips day which my daughter and I had. It was good and not greasy. My only issue is the plating consistency. My daughter's fish & chips were larger than mine. I also ordered the Non-Alcoholic Coastal Colada which was so good! My wife got the Snow Crab Legs - which she thoroughly enjoyed. My son even helped her as there were a good size and amount of legs. My son had the kids Mac & Cheese which he liked but as he is a little older now kids meals sometimes is not big enough for growing boys. It got busy during our time here and so service was a little slow. Our server was great - attentive and friendly. We loved the fishing decor. I think we will try and come back again more frequently then last time.

Delicious meals, each and every time that I cannot wait to enjoy. Thank you. Good sea food.read more

Bar Gigi is located in an old fish and chip shack, but they had redone the space really nicely. The dark blues and blacks really work for the space. I went with my friend who is a chef, and we sat down to order a number of dishes we had seen pictures of. We got the squash, prawn toast, cabbage, feature pasta, and bone-in pork ribeye. The squash, thinly sliced and fried, was wonderfully sweet, savory, and crunchy. The prawn toast was impeccable; I was really impressed that they managed to use strong ingredients in subtle ways, like the chili oil and yuzu. Everything else fell a bit flat. The concept of the cabbage skewers was excellent, maximizing the char. But it felt like it was smothered in a too-sweet teriyaki sauce. The feature pasta was okay, the combo of the nduja and Gorgonzola made it pretty rich and heavy. There was some lemon to balance it out, but it didn't feel totally cohesive. And the pork ribeye had an excellent cook, but the flavors were not very memorable. With a beer and a cocktail, the total bill came out to about $150. All in all, I would've expected a bit more from a restaurant on such a prestigious list, but I don't regret going.
