We recently decided to buy a new Hyundai Tucson. We started at the Fresno Hyundai dealership and found the car we wanted. But, we found the dealership to be very busy and chaotic so we left to think about it more. We then decided to contact Selma Hyundai. We connected online with Ahmed Wahdan one of their salesmen. Selma Hyundai was so much more relaxed than the Fresno dealership. Ahamed was very helpful, found the exact car we wanted through a dealer trade, and made the entire purchase process easy and comfortable. I drove with my son and boyfriend to Selma because this young man said financing a new car through them is the best choice. I went to find out because I was car shopping. This will be my 3rd vehicle purchased new . A young man named Jose was my salesperson and he was extremely rude after i asked questions. I went there he was very nice and offered us a water (forgot to bring me any) and over the top , I felt like something was off . As soon as he put numbers in front of me I knew this place was a joke. It was 12 percent higher APR then anywhere I was quoted. He also added a bunch of add ons (at least come forward when I catch them) I did my research and couldn't believe what I was seeing And of course asked questions and wanted to make a good purchase and he just walked away and was finished when I said " maybe my apr could be lower if I have a co signer" . why wouldn't he want that ? It was obviously not a great place. don't get burned be smart. i ended up getting a great deal elsewhere . It was a waist of time to go there And be aware This kid said he got fired from Walmart few years prior.. I can see why. read more

TLDR: Abraham Vidaurri is the best car sales person I've ever met!! The dealership agreed to a deal but did not make good on it entirely. Abraham is super knowledgeable about all things Hyundai (and I'm sure many other things) and you can tell he has a passion for helping people. Unlike most car salespersons I've met Abraham actually knows about the features of the cars, what the different models and trim levels offer, and the history of changes to models over the years. He took the time to explain things to us and answer every question we had. Not only did he do that before we bought the car but he actually spent almost an hour with us after the sale getting us set up with bluelink and going over every single button inside the car, what it does, when to use it etc. This was MUCH needed as someone who was going from a 2008 to a 2024. His kindness and generosity with his time were greatly appreciated and is what made this a 5 star experience despite the drama with the deal not being fully honored. I'd recommend anyone looking for a new car to contact Abraham. Honestly next time we buy a car we are likely to hit up Abraham and see what dealership he is at and start from there. Hopefully they truly cherish him because he's a gem. Was looking for a new 2024 Tucson Hybrid Limited and found 12 within 200 miles of me. Didn't really care about the color much but did have a very slight preference to white over black so called Selma Hyundai. Manager Shawn answered the phone, we chatted a bit, and he encouraged me to come get the car. I explained I needed to talk numbers before driving 3+ hours down to Selma but like most dealerships he insisted that the best price would only be offered if we were there in person. Since that is a 6 hour round trip just for price discovery I decided to look a bit more first. Ended up finding a dealership in Georgia that had over 10 of the same car in various colors including a great looking grey one. The cars were discounted heavily as they were not only the previous model year but about to be 2 model years old. Was able to get numbers from them no problem and no need to go in person, but would have to arrange my own shipping. Did my research and came up with the numbers all in for everything. I then called Shawn again and explained that I'd be willing to come down to Selma for their car but they would need to get in a certain price range and he assured me that they would easily beat that price....if I showed up in person. Wasn't sure if this was just salesperson BS or if he was serious but I told him I'd be down in 6 days on Friday. Stayed in contact his story stayed consistent and on Friday we headed down. We arrived at the dealership met with Shawn who immediately handed us off to Abraham for a test drive. When we arrived back to the dealership we agreed to see the numbers expecting to see something similar to what was discussed, instead we were given a number that was over $12,000 more than what was discussed. We almost left immediately but also realized that most dealerships dont start with their best offer so decided to play the game a bit. Went back and forth until the final boss Gio came out. More back and forth with him including him offering us all weather mats. Finally we wanted to leave since we had a 3+ hour drive home still so we put a final offer that we would be willing to pay for the car plus all weather mats for the Trunk and inside the car. Emphasis on the trunk since that was the one we cared about more. Gio agreed to the deal shook our hands and got the paperwork started. When we got to signing documents all of the sudden there was an extra $18.69 added to the deal. Strange but whatever we wanted to get home. Then the due bill didn't have all weather mats. I explained we agreed to all weather mats for the trunk and the car. The guy left came back with an edited due bill that said all weather mats. I asked if that verbage Included the trunk and was very clearly told yes. After signing I went to gio and asked again to triple check that everyone was on the same page about the weather mats for the trunk and car he said yes the trunk was included and he had just ordered them for $400 (the price for cabin and trunk). They ended up mailing the mats for the cabin but not for the trunk. Called gio and he agreed we had the same understanding of the deal but said that the dealership doesn't do trunk mats by policy and that unfortunately I would not be getting the trunk mats we agreed to. So beware of those 2 factors if you do business with this dealership. Overall the experience wasn't the worst but definitely disappointed that they couldn't deliver on the deal they agreed to. read more

Buyer beware: Avoid this dealership at all costs. Predatory sales practices have left my friend with over $5000 in monetary harm. The agreement made on the phone with sales rep Ahmed and confirmed at the sales desk was to payoff a trade in vehicle loan and provide credit towards a new vehicle. Upon review of contracts, this individual instructed the finance agent to roll over the vehicle loan into a new car purchase loan. The document signing process utilizes screen to table technology, which makes terms and conditions review unable to follow. I was there as a witness to this as my friend is deaf and hard of hearing, and the finance agent waited until I left to grab food to make him sign. When we reviewed the final docs which are provided on a flash drive so I couldn't look them over when I returned, they had rolled over the trade in car loan! They have now taken his vehicle and are making him pay interest to their benefit. Upon attempt to contact the Finance Manager to remedy this situation locally, our voice messages have gone unanswered and we have been denied contact information including names and email addresses by multiple employees. read more

I had one of the most frustrating car-buying experiences here. The advertised price was not the real price, they added a $1,300 ceramic coating fee that wasn't disclosed up front. When I asked about buying from Oregon, I got confusing and inconsistent information about California sales tax, and had to do the research myself to sort out the truth. After negotiating for days, I was finally told they would let me ship the car. I even agreed to fly 700 miles to sign paperwork in person. All I asked was for written confirmation from a sales manager that the car would be held for me until I arrived. I even offered to put down a deposit. They refused, saying it was "first come, first serve." No reputable dealership should expect someone to spend money on flights with zero guarantee the car will still be there. Their practices felt shady, and I would not recommend Selma Hyundai to anyone, especially out-of-state buyers. read more

Do not take your car in if you want to be lowballed after numerous emails of "meeting or beating the previous offer" and told to "Get out of the lot, this is my lot" by their very respectful manager. I was persuaded to take my car in to Selma Hyundai after Brittany emailed multiple times and drove 145 miles just to get referred to another agent. Within 5 minutes of "inspecting" the car (did not even test drive), they offered $8,000 less. I was told it's because they don't buy used cars like mine, but I was confused as to why even email multiple times? As I was confused and a little frustrated that my time and energy was wasted, I asked the agent who brought out their manager to explain. However, all I got was "Get out this lot, it's my lot" which was very rude and uncalled for. I am not trying to take "your lot", I simply came here because of multiple persuasive emails.After my experience I would like to offer advice to anyone to try your best to avoid this location if you value your time and want to be treated with respect. read more

Firstly I want to say, I should've listened to the one star reviews. No communication. No returned calls. No nothing. It was always "they're busy at the moment, do you want to leave a message?" I'd leave a message and nothing. Call again the next day, "they're all busy, do you want the voicemail?" sure. No call back. I finally asked for a service manager but again was hit with the wall "sorry, they're not available right now, do you want their voicemail?" That's when I said screw it, I'll drive down there and pick my car up so I can take it to another automotive shop. At least Brandon, the service manager, waived the diagnostic charges. To Brandon, you need to either hire more people to reach out or just have accountability set up. You need better customer outreach. There should be someone reaching out to your customers giving them updates on the process WITHOUT the customer reaching out first. Do yourself a favor, listen to these one star reviews. I also want to add that their labor times are JACKED way too high. EDIT: I took it to a local shop. Dropped it off on 9/14/23 at 4:30ish PM. The next morning I get a call saying they're ordering the transmission and they were OK'd for the job. It's crazy what happens when you go somewhere that has workers that care. read more

OK I spent an entire day driving to three different cities test driving & looking at cars. I don't know if they underestimated me but I came in prepared. I came in with a preapproved loan and some knowledge and what to look for in a car. I test drove a 2021 Hyundai sonata seemed like a good value but a little too high for the sticker price so I offered him way below what they were asking because I had a feeling something wasn't right with it. I was shuffled between three different staff ( all men personnel) all wanting to talk numbers. I'm like 'show me the service history show me the Carfax because I have a feeling there's active recalls on this car & it's not worth what youre were asking.' I get questioned on why I chose their store as if they thought I was an undercover decoy. I can't believe I had to explain to them why I was there. Then the third man said that I was correct there was an active recall with no remedy and that he could not sell me the car because it was unsafe. So I asked him 'why is the car on the lot for sale?' He apologized & said it would be taken off the lot. So I asked if I could have the recall sheet & he gave it to me. I was really surprised. I also had the sticker of the car w/ me; the vins matched. it is scary what these dealerships are doing. I'm putting this review on there so everyone can be informed and always check the VIN, or the year-make and model of the car. They want you to believe that there is scarcity but just wait cars are coming out and these shipments can be looked up online. don't fall into their ' well it could go out any second '. well that lemon right there just got squeezed & whoever takes it, well you got suckered. Amended review comments below my original review which I gave them a 1 star rating. This review is regarding the Hyundai service department & how difficult it is to get ahold of anyone there. When you call you get connected to the service department & get put on hold. What's annoying is it's dead air unlike most places playing background music so you know you're actually still on hold & connected. Usually you get the receptionist again and she says all the service advisors are with customers and would you like their voicemail. Ok so you leave a voicemail and they NEVER call you back! What's the point of leaving a voicemail if I have to keep calling over & over again just to speak to an advisor? That's so frustrating!!! Do they EVER listen to the voicemails they receive & call anyone back? I highly doubt it! So same thing happened today. I've been trying to get ahold of anyone in service to check on a recall on my vehicle which I'm now having to park outside for the past 5 months due to this recall! The last time I spoke with an advisor, Ismael he said the parts would be ordered according to my VIN #? I don't understand that. Well it's been over 2.5 months since I spoke with him and I'd like to know WHEN the part will be in so I can get the part replaced. Is that too much to ask? Please hire more service advisors & teach them to listen & answer the voicemails & RETURN calls. The customer shouldn't have to call 2-5 times just to get through to speak with someone! It's ridiculous! And it would be nice if you'd have some background music or even a recording asking you to continue to hold when you're on hold so you know you're still connected! When service picked up she tried to put me back on hold & I told her I was already on hold for 10 minutes waiting for Ismael. She then says "oh he's not in today and won't be in for awhile". Ummm so why didn't the receptionist know that? Had I not called back the 2nd time I wouldn't have know and probably wouldn't have gotten a call back since he's not there! Geez! Then she says "can you hold " and puts me back on hold. After waiting another 5 more minutes and nobody picking up I hung up and called again. So I called back yet a THIRD time and spoke with the receptionist who supposedly was going to take a message & relay it to the service dept. Well I made that call @ 2pm & it's almost 3pm and no call back. Well I never did get a call back from the advisor. Guess she was just too busy to bother to call back or the receptionist didn't give her the message like she said she would. I emailed Brandon Puga who I saw in another review that Selma Hyundai responded to said was the service manager and amazingly enough he responded and said he will look into it & give me a call back. Fingers crossed AMENDED review on 1/11/24: I originally gave the service dept. @ Selma Hyundai a 1 star review but have since amended it to a 3 star rating and here's the reason . I read thru several negative Yelp reviews and managed to find the name and email of the Service Manager, Brandon Puga. I sent him a scathing email with my complaint. I was very pleasantly surprised that he responded back to my email & asked for my phone # in order to look up that info and promised to get back to me. He found out that possibly Fresno Lithia had attempted to help me order the part ( as I had called them after not being able to get anyone @ Selma Hyundai to call back) He said he'd have to contact corporate but didn't think he'd have a problem ordering the part & promised to keep me in the loop. The part was ordered & he said he'd call me on Monday 1/8/24 to verify that it came in. Monday morning I got a text from Brandon confirming my part was in and he helped me schedule an appt for Thursday 1/11/24 to get the recall taken care of. I arrived @ my appt time & texted Brandon I was there waiting in the service dept to be helped. There was only 1 service advisor & 2 people ahead of me. Both of them got taken care of and another person who turned out to be Brandon helped me. I gave him my key, he said it probably would be a couple hours before the car was ready but they'd give me a call when it was done. I received a call around 11:30am that my car was ready & I went to pick it up shortly thereafter. So a HUGE thank you Brandon for following through and doing exactly what you said you were going to do. I so appreciate the customer service you provided especially after having to wait for so long to even get someone to order the part. read more
