Horrible experience with the service department. Took my car there for a warranty repair (extended warranty) of two items. The dealership found the part for one issue, but not the second issue. Instead of calling me and letting me know, they "continued to search" for the second part. The service advisor, Ishmael, never did contact me to explain what was going on, I had to contact him. When I heard what was happening, I told him to just fix the one issue and leave the second alone for now. Once the warranty company approved the work, the dealership wouldn't take a credit card payment from them because of the "credit card fees" Any business that accepts credit cards as payment pays fees all the time. They insisted that the warranty company issue a check, which further delayed my car being ready for an additional 13 days. No sense of urgency was demonstrated by anyone. Contacting the service manager did no good. The service advisor also failed to do anything that he said he would do. I asked him for the part number of the part they couldn't find. He didn't send it. I had to call and ask him a second time before he sent it. He said that he would have my car washed prior to me picking it up, and failed to do that. The lack of anyone trying to provide any customer service at all was ludicrous. This was an extremely negative experience. read more

I recently moved to the area and needed my car serviced so I thought I'd give this place a try. On Friday I called and was scheduled for an appointment on Tuesday at 9:30am..(that was quick very impressive) The person on the phone was nice, helpful and very patient with me...Lol. Tuesday morning I walked into the service lobby and was pleasantly greeted. The person at the desk was wearing a mask, its nice to know they're taking precautions due to covid19. When I got there I realized not only did my car needed an oil change but the tires rotated. I asked if they had time for the tire rotation as well and they did. They took my car and I waited in the lobby from the time I walked in to the time I left I was only there 55 minutes. Great customer service with great service. As I'm on my way over to pay a down payment Rico calls me saying they will "try to match the 41,500". Was looking into buying an electric vehicle and emailed Selma Hyundai about a car scheduled to be delivered to them. They emailed back and we ended up being scheduled for a visit at their establishment so they could give me a "true" estimate of my trade in vehicle. I told them before even going down there that I would not purchase a vehicle with a price over MSRP. My wife and I get there and are talking to a salesman when he turns us over to a manager. We are given a quote for the vehicle we asked about with a $6,995.00 "Market Adjustment" fee as well as a $2,294.00 fee for Lowjack and coating. We said we didn't want Lowjack and coating and we were told we had to buy it. So their offer is over 9k OVER MSRP. To top it off they low ball my trade in by 2.5K under what Blue Book estimated it's value as. Their offer had us financing more than the MSRP of the vehicle even after a 10k down payment. We left and as we did we were told that with the car market as it is, we could never find a vehicle for MSRP. The next day Hanford Hyundai emailed us and told us they had the exact vehicle we wanted coming in. We did the entire deal over email except for signing the contracts. Bought the vehicle for MSRP and got Blue Book value for my trade in just by sending them pics of the vehicle. Will do business in Hanford from now on. We also didn't have to pay for low jack and coating. read more

My car had a recall, I called to make an appointment and my appointment was about 3 weeks out. They said they should have the parts by then and if not they'd let me know. Come the day of my appointment, no one contacted me to say if they arrived or not. I called several time to ensure their arrival, no answer. I left a voicemail and no one called back. I went to my appointment, which is about 30 minutes from my home, to find out the parts have not arrived No courtesy call or anything. They rescheduled me to come back in another few weeks. I wasted not only my time, gas and energy going all the way to Selma, but also my mothers because I was told I needed a ride as I was going to need to leave the car. Find another place to take your car for services, or call in few days in advance to ensure they have what your car will need. Update-8/10 I was contacted by the service department, he apologized for what happened and offered to make things right. I really appreciate having him contact me to make things right and realize that the situation could have been handled differently. read more

If I could give minus stars I would. Terrible customer service. I have a car that is eligible for an extended warranty on the seat belt pretensioner that causes the airbag light to turn on. I checked with Hyundai USA directly and Lithia Hyundai Fresno and they both confirmed my car's eligibility. Unfortunately, Lithia Hyundai had no availability for an appointment the same week, so my alternative was Hyundai Selma. I, confidently and without giving any thought, made the appointment with Selma. That has been one of the worst decisions in my life. My husband was the one who took the car to the appointment. He was having a hard time getting the service advisor lady to listen to him, and since I had been the one getting the info from Hyundai USA and Lithia Hyundai Fresno, he called me so I could speak with the lady advisor. This lady would not even let me speak, I tried to explain we had already confirmed eligibility but she would not even let me speak. After trying twice or thrice I had to literally ask her: "can you please let me finish?" She heard me but she did not listen to me. She did not even try to listen to my husband and I, much less to deescalate the situation. She kept repeating and ranting: "you have to pay, the car will not be released unless you pay. You have to pay, if you don't we won't give you your keys back". She was so adamant about the payment and the car not being released until everything was paid for. We never said we were not going to pay! We just wanted them to listen to us. After all, we had confirmed with Hyundai Motors USA directly, so yes, our concern regarding their refusal to honor the warranty was completely valid and within reason. Despite me asking, she refused flat out to check the warranty again. I could not see her but I could hear her tone of voice over the phone; she was belligerent, dismissive, and outrageously rude. I got tired of trying to get across to someone who was not interested in the least in anything I or my husband had to say. I told her payment was not an issue and that we were ready to go ahead with it. Then she started to tell me the car had been serviced and explain the charge. She mentioned the airbag light was not on anymore, but I know you can get rid of the light just by erasing the code, so I asked "but the problem is fixed, right?" she said yes, the light is not on anymore. That answer did not cut it for me so I asked again "but you fixed the tensioner, right?" She said yes it is fixed and the light is not on anymore. Guess what? Surprise, surprise!!! They did not fix anything, they just deleted the codes. We confirmed this after having a mechanic friend of ours explain the jargon in the invoice. We felt duped as you can imagine. Most horrible customer care experience ever! I worked in customer service for more than ten years so I know about this, I know what I am talking about. All the advisor had to do was to acknowledge what we had to say, sympathize with us and really try at rechecking the vehicles eligibility and lastly apologize if there was really nothing else she could do, advise to contact Hyundai Motors USA directly since the system they provide for them was telling them otherwise, even give us the phone number. But none of that happened, I guess this job is too big for this lady. Something that could have been solved so simply, by being more gracious about it, became one of the worst experiences my husband and I have ever had. Truth to be told I felt like we were profiled. Some people think all Hispanics are always trying to get things for free, trying to take some kind of advantage, of trying to get away with whatever they imagine, but that is not the case. Although the advisor lady was Hispanic, let me tell you, profiling among us Hispanics is common, unfortunately. I called Hyundai Motors USA again and I confirmed once more my car eligibility to get serviced, all covered by the extended warranty. This time Hyundai Motors USA made the appointment on my behalf with Lithia Hyundai Fresno, so I expect a smooth and hassle-free experience. It is not even about the money. It is about the principle for christ's sake! They did not honor the warranty, they lied about the repair being done, and they mistreated us. Why are they a Hyundai dealer if they do not abide by recalls and extended warranties issued by Hyundai Motors? Why lie about the repairs? Were they afraid we were not going to be able to pay if they have had to charge us more? Why the mistreatment? No one, absolutely no one, deserves any of this. Completely appalling. read more

We love our new palisade however communication is atrocious at Selma Hyundai. Gas door is missing when we bought it new off the lot. It needed to be ordered, then color matched, then sent to body shop for paint and install. Along with new headrest TVs, the expectation given to us was 3 days. We are now over two weeks. When we call we are told someone will touch base with us later to give us an expectation. No one calls. I called three times today (on my only day off) to figure this out. Impossible. I am completely dumbfounded at how horrible the Genesis/Hyundai customer service is in the Fresno valley area. They are impossible to contact, give false promises then don't follow through, and actually are just a huge pain to deal with. Despite having a warranty, being polite, and constantly trying to follow up, just replacing my broken car dashboard screen has been impossible, and has wasted countless hours. As a physician, this has been a real pain when I am on shift at the hospital to have to set aside time to waste by going to their only dealership all the way in Selma. ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE PLANNING TO BUY A CAR FROM GENESIS/HYUNDAI: DON'T DO IT! I have written in detail exactly my experiences below... I was initially very happy when I bought the Genesis G90. My trouble started when I noticed glue melting down on the monitor screen. I got an appointment with Genesis/Hyundai dealer repair shop in Fresno, ca. My car was examined and oil was changed. I was told that they are ordering the whole monitor and I will be contacted as soon as they will receive it. I waited for a while and contacted them but no call came back so I decided to go myself. To my surprise, I was told that they no longer service Genesis over here. I was referred to the nearest Genesis service at Selma, California which is about 30-40 minutes away from Clovis where I live. When I first drove there without an appointment inquiring about the monitor and whether they have any information about it, they said they don't have me in their system and I have to make an appointment as they have to take out the monitor to examine it. I told them there is no need to do that as it is very obvious and just ask the service manager to look at it, but they outright refused. So I got an appointment after a week on a weekday and I had to rush from another town Madera, Ca. Anyway, on my arrival, all my information was collected and the service manager/ lead person Mr. Jose came to examine the monitor and said that there is no need to do anything and we will order the monitor and call you back as soon as we will get it. Now at this time, the mileage on my car was around 28k. So I waited for about 2-3 weeks and called them. I was informed that they are still waiting so I contacted them after another 3 weeks with no success. At this time I decided to call the main Genesis office which was also a terrible experience. After a long wait and transfers, at last, I got hold of some lady who took all the information and placed me on hold to find out about the situation. In any case, she returned back and told me that she will be calling me back very soon but until now after about 5 months I have not been contacted. So I again contacted the dealer, who took my messages on 2-3 occasions with the promise of calling back. At last, I called them again and wanted to talk to Mr. Jose and I was told he is not there anymore. So once again, my information was collected on the phone and I was told that someone from the service department will contact me. I waited for 3-4 days and I called them back and got transferred from one desk to another, I was connected to the service manager, and to my surprise, it was Jose who after all my references of the previous encounter, he was able to recognize me and placed me on hold. After some time, he returned and told me that the part was returned back since I was not there. That made me upset and I told him that it is I who has been trying to reach you people and I have never received a single call or appointment. Also, I told him that in our last conversation, I had wanted my car brake shoe replaced, and he told me that he was going to order it, as they don't carry it and will fix it together. So he realized his mistake and placed me on hold and contacted the parts department. He returned back and told me they are ordering and I will be contacted once they will receive it. Later on the same day. I received a call from the dealer that I have to pay in advance for the parts. When I told her that it is under warranty (and by the way, now I have 44k miles on my car, from 28k when I started). She said that she will contact me again in the morning and it is almost a week and I am still waiting. I am writing to warn any new buyer that please don't buy this car as there's no service available at least in Fresno valley and Selma Genesis dealer is an unorganized and unreliable place to go. I'm going to forward this to all the departments including consumer protection along with the main Genesis office. It has been stressful as all sorts of warnings about errors, are on my car screen. Buying a car was a huge mistake, that I don't plan on making again. There's more to write but I will stop here. God bless. read more

The staff here is beyond awesome. I was driving down Highway 99 when my alternator went out in my Hyundai on a hot summer Sunday afternoon. I figured that I needed to get it towed to the closest dealership as no mechanic would be open on a Sunday. Up until the point we got towed to the dealership, it had been a long hot day with the trip starting in Oakdale and temperatures well over 100. The tow truck took almost 2 hours to arrive. That is another story and a not so positive Yelp review. When we got to the dealership, the service department was closed but the sales staff asked if they could help in any way and were genuinely concerned. We had been baking in a broken hot car for a couple hours. We were handed waters, a member went to the break room and brought us popsicles. But the topper is I need to be back in Los Angeles the next day so I needed to arrange a rental car. Being a Sunday the closest open rental car office was at the Fresno Airport, about 30 miles away. I went to launch the Uber app and the closest Uber driver was 20 minutes away so one of the salesmen offered to drive us to the rental car office. He refused to take anything for his troubles. We later sent him a Starbuck's gift card. My car was fixed over the next day or so but I wasn't able to get back to Selma for 5 days as it's more than a 200 mile drive away from where I live. We arrived mid day on a Friday and the staff that had been there knew us by name. The service department although at dealership prices, didn't try and up sell me on other services, which I was thankful for being that I was at their mercy being so far from home. While waiting for 2 hours with no air in 105 degree weather 200 miles from home, thanks AAA. This was one of those times where you realize when things seem at their worse. ****WARNING**** don't buy from BELLA**** Stay away from this place, they have very pushy salespeople. After looking and reviewing terms on a Genesis G70, I decided not to go further with the purchase due to the car being outside of my comfort purchasing range. I asked the salesman who worked my application to assure me my contact information would not be spammed, cold called and etc. Antonia reassured me, "yes sir, I will make sure you do not recieve calls from us." I told Victor, Finance Manager who had to speak with me before leaving (you know the one last person to speak with). I told him I was pleased with my experience and the fact Antonia and himself didn't seem pushy when I decided not to purchase the car. Around 30+/-days I recieved a call at 3pm from a salesman from Hyundai if I was intrested in buying a car. I replied, no not at this time. Not even an hour passes and I recieved a call from Bella at Selma Nissan asking if I was interested in buying a car from Hyundai. I replied, no I'm not, she then replied "well what about a Nissan." I said, no please remove me from your system to buy a car. She said, "ok" and hung up quickly. I decided I should call back and ask to speak with a Manager to ensure I was removed from their list. I called back to be put on hold for 13 minutes, the receptionist picked up and I asked her to please leave a message for Victor to remove me from the list and gave her my name and phone number. Low and behold, the next day I get a call from Bella asking if I would like to buy a car! Bottom line, I had a plan to purchase the car in a couple of months. But now, you can forget it! I did however speak with Victor today and he removed me from their system. Mainly my review is more to do with a specific salesperson "BELLA." Please DO NOT buy a car from her, if she approaches you please ask to speak with someone else unless you like the dirt road sales approach. She's someone I wouldn't be able to trust when purchasing a car. Who knows what she would say just to get you in a car. It speaks a lot to her integrity and morals, just imagine the lies she may say to sell you a car. Think about it. read more

We bought our 2020 Hyundai Palisade there in October. I have been looking at that make for several months at several dealerships. They were great on the phone and quoted us a good price. When we got there we test drove it and it was the car I wanted. When it was time to do the paperwork, the price was more than on the phone. (mind you were drove from San Luis Obispo) They explained the car had a LoJack and we would have to pay per month for it. Um, no thanks. We had them remove it and they price was what we had discussed. Everything was smooth but when it came time to drive off the lot, there was only 1 fob for the car. We did our research, found out that he had a multitude of positive reviews over the past 4 years, and requested to work with him specifically. We found out the reason for all of the positive reviews! He has excellent interpersonal skills and went out of his way to be helpful to us. After we talked with him for a short while, we felt like we had known him for a long time. He is trustworthy and got us a good deal, no games. We also worked with Antonio in finance who was very good. They were both kind and honest, not something you necessarily expect at a car dealership. The story told by Customer S. In response to our review is misleading. Lithia had ZERO vehicles on the lot. We literally ordered the vehicle and had it delivered. This was one of the multiple options presented to us by Lithia. Let's be VERY CLEAR that the sales team at Selma Hyundai had NO options for us. They were very clear that they didn't want to sell us anything we could afford and the sales manager stood up, said, "we can't help you, good luck," and then walked away. He just walked away and with an arrogant and smug look on his face like he had us over some sort of barrel. Rico walked away when we said we wanted to keep looking at options. I was the one on the phone with the dealership in Dublin. There was no issue with "another customer." Your statement is a blatant lie to try and save face. We hunted Rico down. When we asked about the Venue he tried to sell us the only one on the lot that a woman was already in the process of buying (she actually was the one that sold us on the car because no one at SH was talking to us). He then stated that we should try to buy it out from under her. Get our paperwork approved first and screw her out of the buy. So the reality is that Selma Hyundai didn't want our business, then tried to screw another customer, who actually HELPED US, out of her fair purchase. And the woman was a repeat customer of theirs who loved Hyundai and the car she had bought from them a few years back. This is how you treat your valued customers? We will not be coming back. We cannot suggest anyone do business with them. It just seems wrong. Additionally you are not a "store" you are a dealership. Tesla has stores with all the benefits of shopping in a store. Selma Hyundai (like Lithia, to be fair) is a dealership. A dinosaur. The buying public looks forward to pitching the middleman and dealing directly with a store. Don't paint yourself as something you're not. It's dishonest but our whole experience with Selma Hyundai seemed steeped in dishonesty. Rico, buddy, get out of there. So the BAIT AND SWITCH routine landed a different car in front of us that the manager was unwilling to negotiate on. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Evening, On 01-07-19 my fiance and I went to Hyundai of Selma. We were interested in looking at a pre-owned Hyundai Santa Fe the price on it was $21,498. The first mistake was made when they printed out a sheet with all the numbers broke down and the price was then $23,000. I then caught the $1,500 mistake they made. I also had a 13 Chevy Sonic with 155,000 miles that was going to be a trade it, yes we did have negative equity on the vehicle. The dealership only wanted to give us $500 and other dealerships where willing to give us $1000. So with that $500 they would NOT negotiate on. I then told them that I would like to see if they could drop the price of the car to $20,000 or $21,000 then we would have a deal. I was shot down and they would not budge. So then I asked to speak to a manager. My fiance then stepped outside to sit in the car and she could hear and see the sales personnel and and the finance person talking shit and laughing about us in Spanish and pointing at the car she was sitting it. Once she stepped out of the car it got real quite. I was made aware of it when she walked it and told me and the manager called in the employee's it front of us and confronted them. Witch they both denied the allegations. But it was very unprofessional to call in both employees in front us and confront them and made both of us very uncomfortable. I then left the dealership. I will tell you I will never do business with Selma Auto Mall again. Best of luck on your future endeverors with other customers. I will definitely spread the word of your customer service. P.S. This review is for the service department: I've been getting my 2012 Sonata serviced here since I bought the car back in November 2011, and in that time, I've never had a bad experience. In fact, this last visit might have been my best yet. Oil change, and two recalls taken care of in less than an hour, and that included the car wash. We were told at first they wanted to take care of this without anyone else being notified, when we decided to seek a legal opinion we were told "an eight dollar an hour office lady" altered our check, then the manager tried saying he didn't know who altered it, then he accused us of altering it. Thank goodness for originals . BEWARE keep every original, every copy, just keep every little piece of paper you have! They will say what you want them to hear, then change things up after you walk out the door. UPDATE:We won lawsuit but after three years with a Hyundai I can tell you WORST investment ever. One thing after another went wrong from bumper, stereo, a.c., airbags... Of course nothing covered under warranty, just past date or they find a reason to say sorry it's not covered because.... Used roadside assistance at 3 am and was told too late they would come in morning leaving my teenage daughter stranded with blown tire. I waited a pretty long time got there around 11 am and left The lot around 5 pm. Other than that, excellent service. Oscar Velasquez helped me and he did a great job. He explained everything throughly and did his best to get me to a price that I was more comfortable with. Oscar was awesome and at the end of the day he got me to drive out with a beautiful white Ford Mustang. The Sales Manager Jose is a liar! We went in on Saturday and saw a Santa Fe and a Tucson and offered to purchase cash on the Santa Fe but be wanted $6000.00 more than what i wanted to spend. He specifically told me that why don't you finance the rest and we said no and left. We the. called the next day to see what price he would sell the Tucson for and he wanted the same price as the Santa Fe from the day before. So we were going to go back and buy the Santa Fe but when we said we were coming back and wanted to confirm the price he lied and said he never quoted us that price and raised it by another $3000.00! He then called us back and said he would sell it for $38000.00! i didn't card at that point if he sold it at $30000.00 I would never buy anything from a place that literally lied to my face and pretty much called me a liar when he was the liar. If you want to buy a Hyundai go to Lithia Hyundai of Fresno and ask for Rolando because we got a beautiful 2023 Tucson SEL for a great price and great warranty!
