I tried to buy a truck from Farney GMC and had one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I've ever had. I could not get a call back and when i did it was from multiple DIFFERENT salespeople. I was lied to several times -- about promotions, trade-in values, and even the truck they set me an appointment for, which turned out not to be on their lot at all. They offered a promotion to me promising $2,000 above KBB for trade-ins, but when it came time for the offer, they tried giving me a range of $10,000-$15,000 for a truck worth far more -- nearly $20,000 under blue book value. Meanwhile, Motor City in Bakersfield gave me $28,500 for the same trade and even sold me my new truck under MSRP. It's clear Farney GMC doesn't value honesty or follow through on what they promise. DO. NOT. GO. HERE. These salesman are the most incompetent and untrustworthy individuals you might ever meet. From the moment you walk through their doors every interaction with them becomes extremely predatory and dishonest. My wife and I came to Fahrney GMC along with our newborn to check out a singular and very specific vehicle from their website. This was our experience: We came to check out a SINGULAR vehicle... the salesman offered to show us the vehicle and proceeded to walk us around in the rain (with our newborn) and show us literally any car but the one we were asking about and all above the price range we gave up front. Simple upcharge strategy there. He then told us that they did not have the vehicle but could do underwriting for a different vehicle... per my wife's persistence (after 2 hours) the salesman FINALLY looks the vehicle up. Turns out the vehicle was there the whole time and was simply in a separate lot. Should that not have happened first? After finally locating the vehicle, the underwriting process becomes absolutely unbearable. DO NOT give them your keys or registration during this part of the process. They will hold on to them so that you can not leave... this will give you time to "think about their offer". If and when you ask for them back they will tell you "That they are using them to look at vehicle information and you'll get them back in the next step". The next step of course is a long wait while they give you outrageously inflated offers of $800+ monthly fees even with credit rating 770+. There is no verification to this process... it is a man with a sharpie and blank piece of paper writing down whatever numbers come to his head for what he would like to charge you. When you begin asking questions about these numbers and state that they make no sense... worry not, these salesman will outwardly tell you that they are "your trusted advisor and that you need to trust them." You will then continue to gaslight you into ill decisions for their own profit. Ask for the APR for the numbers given you and you will quickly find out that they have no clue. Only after wasting the majority of your day (remember that we came with one car in mind- now six hours into this experience). You will finally be offered what seems to be a reasonable price around what you asked for when you first walked in. You will move to "The next step" again and will be taken to sign contracts. CHECK YOUR CONTRACTS THOROUGHLY AND CONTINUOUSLY BEFORE AND THROUGHOUT SIGNING. This is very important. Most of your time during contracts will be spent talking, and only for a couple minutes will you be shown the actual contract before asking to sign it. The contract is given to you on a thumb drive to check out later but is unable to be reviewed until you reach a computer. There were many times in this contract interaction that we asked for certain insurances or coverages not to be applied and were told they were removed. Not a single one ended up being removed upon later review. Have the contract reviewed in full before leaving this place. Consumers should also be aware that this place also uses Yo-Yo Scams to draw you back after your purchase in order to get the chance to speak with you about adjusted rates and financing. Overall, There are better options dealership wise that are out there... avoid this headache. read more

To the business owner: There is no understanding. There's no point in you guys taking deposits in vehicles over the phone if you do not intent to hold them to any length. We were specifically told by the sales person and the sales manager that if we placed the deposit Friday, the car would be held for us until Saturday. We had an appointment in your system to come purchase the vehicle. I have the text message confirming. Instead, another sales person decided our deposit meant nothing and he sold the vehicle after our sales person went home for a he evening. Completely shading, robbing our sales person of the commission on the vehicle. We have spoken with four other dealerships across the state since our interaction with yours. All agree this is a shady business practice. And I should not have to reach out to you regarding removing the inquiry from my credit - this whole fiasco is on your dealership. However, we since have - twice. And both times we were told they would "need to find someone to help" us. We have yet to receive a call back. We found another dealership three hours away from us who had a vehicle we were interested in. They took our deposit over the phone and agreed to hold the vehicle for us for 48 hours, with no qualms at all with our traveling distance. Whereas your dealership could not wait 12 hours to sell the vehicle that had been reserved and deposit paid on. Bought a 2023 Yukon Denali. They never cleaned the inside or outside upon delivery. Had to was it myself. After washing found water stains on windows and trim and it would not come off and found chips in the paint. Also paid for a protective coating for the outside and inside of the vehicle. We took our 2021 car in for some issues and low and behold, they say "well, we can't duplicate the problem so.... come pick up your car." This place is ridiculous. I will never buy a car from this place! Drove off the lot and several screws came undone that made the skid plate come off, took it back right away had to leave the car overnight, and was told the next day I was responsible for the replacement. All because they were lazy and did not put the skid plate back on correctly when they did the oil change the day before. When they /Hugo was questioned by husband - Hugo the mechanic told him the screws were not missing and that we must have hit something on the freeway ( which we were only on for 3 mins) - to further his proof Hugo sent us photos of the before ( skid plate) and after of the skid plate. So my husband asked what it cost for this replacement (488 dollars )because I had to buy screws and bolts. When he just told me they were all there. It started with a good experience and ended with a bad taste in my mouth. If I could rate this place negative stars I would. Would not recommend this dealership at all. I am currently selling my vehicle online and this dealership reached out and communicated that they wanted to buy it off of me for full price. Drove a long way to the dealership to realize they were trying to talk me down by over 6K of my asking price. Then they wanted to try and sell me one of their vehicles even though I told them I had already had my eye on a vehicle I wanted.
