Yummy food and great service. Food is served pretty quickly, too. Chirashi was good. Train roll. Pork belly bento!

I am a Sen Dai superfan. I have been going here since I was young, and it is my go to sushi spot! We always get takeout since inside is smaller and typically very crowded. The service is always quick, and I love the cozy ambiance. The sashimi pieces here are generous and very worth the price. The fish tastes fresh, and are cut super thick! In terms of rolls, my go to will always be dragon roll and rainbow roll. I have tried the other ones, but these two come out on top every time. Sen Dai will always have a special spot in my heart!

Food is Amazing, definitely worth the wait if it's busy! It can be a bit rushed once you're sitting and getting your order in. It's pretty cool if you sit at the barstool area, check out the sushi chefs working their sun dai magic. I think one of the best things I love about this small hole in the wall is that it's one of the best sushi restaurants and never disappoint with their fresh quality sushi.

Are you tired of spending $50+ for 2 in a sushi place to only feel half full? Tired of the small portions the Japanese sushi places serve? Then look no further, because Sen Dai knocks down 2 birds with one stone. Good prices, big portions, fast service, they have it all - at the cost of some authenticity and wait times. I came here at 5:15PM on a weekend and the restaurant was already almost full. By the time I left, there was a good amount of people waiting outside, so make sure you come early to avoid the crowd. The plaza is also tiny so parking may be a bit tough. I ordered an extra large Milpitas roll, Lemondrop, and Orgasmic. Food came about 5-10min after we ordered, which was surprisingly quick given the number of takeout orders and customers. The raw fish tastes very fresh, and they do not skimp on the portions! The star of the show was the Milpitas roll, but I feel like you cannot go wrong with most of their sushi roll menu items. This is one of the few establishments that give me pre-Covid vibes - large portions, fair prices, quick service, and decor that's a little outdates but gets the job done. Which is exactly why I will be coming back here for years to come.

We usually do take out from here but decided to go in person yesterday. The ambiance is perfect for dinner. There was a waitlist but we got bar seats within few minutes. Everything tasted fresh and fantastic. The workers are attentive and you can see the chefs prepare food if you sitting on the bar. We had the sumo and sweet spot roll, the sweet spot with cream cheese is my new favorite. Their chicken karaage is crispy and perfect as an appetizer. The pickled jalepeno adds that perfect kick for the sumo roll. Highly recommend Sen Dai to anyone looking for sushi in south bay.

My go-to sushi spot in the Bay area! Service is always really good, but I do want to say that the parking lot is pretty small so during peak hours, it is somewhat difficult to park. I think that I've come here about 10 times already and I've narrowed my favorites down to 3 items: Mark's Special ($16.50) for the scallops, Storm Bringer ($18) for the crab, and Pork Belly Bento ($21.50) a good bang for your buck, leaving us with leftovers to pack for lunch the next day! I've been to a good number of sushi spots but I always find myself coming back to Sen Dai because they just never miss. Must try!

This by far is a diamond in the rough located in a not so glamorous strip. The service is AAA and sushi is also. I've been going here for over a decade. Same top notch sushi. Don't be dissuaded by the exterior looks. There's a tall sushi chef behind the counter who has been there as long as I can remember.

Returned to Sen Dai Sushi after almost over 10 years and was very impressed with the fish to value ratio. The sister and I ordered takeout to eat at our parents house for an early Mother's day celebration. Our total came to about $220 before tax and tip. This order included: Combo roll U - this had 3 pre-set rolls at a slight discount Rockstar roll - yum, loved the lemon slice and mac nuts Toro sashimi combo - 9 slices of maguro, o-toro and chu-toro Individual fatty tuna sashimis Sake wasabi don - thicc slices of salmon. The wasabi sauce was aight 10 pc sashimi combo - nice variety Beef bulgogi rice plate - kind basic but we ordered this for the SO (non seafood liker) Our order fed 5 people total and everyone definitely came out so full. I can't say anything about the interior since my sister picked up the order. She did say that after placing the order online, she received a call to confirm the order. I thought that was nice. Overall, Sen Dai would be my go-to for quality fish at a decent price.

I usually go to Kakuna, but this place honestly blew it out of the water. Prices are super reasonable for the quality you're getting. The fish was fresh, thick, and really tasty. We got the Chirashi A bowl, Spider bowl, and Alaska bowl, loved all of them. The restaurant itself is also a lot cleaner and better maintained, which I appreciated. Service was great too, staff checked in on us multiple times and made sure everything was good. Also nice that the meal came with miso soup. Overall, such a solid spot and I'll definitely be coming back.

Late post, but we ordered from door dash from here. It was recommended by our local friend bc they give you so much for such a good price. They have online combo specials, only for online ordering. I got their chirashi combo A and chicken teriyaki for the little one. My husband got their combo F, came with a rainbow and dragon roll for $28 ish. It was a lot of food, love it. The sushi was pretty good too. No fishiness or anything. Good deals for online orders.

Sendai has always been a fav of mine. It's been a while since I've been here but even on a Monday evening, it was still popping. I tried their chicken katsu bento and that was solid. It's so worth the price for everything you get. The chicken was so crispy and tender and not overly breaded. Their katsu sauce was tangy and so delicious. Salad was good. I wish they added more dressing. They do have a waitlist you can join. Service is really good considering how busy they are. Parking: still a pain.

Sushi rolls are fantastic here. My favorite sushi spot in Milpitas so far! Service is great! Everyone is always so friendly and attentive. This place is very popular in Milpitas so be ready to wait a min or two...it will be worth it. Our favorites are the following: Dragon roll Garlic edamame Hopyard roll Lemondrop roll Short rib bento (this visit the ribs were a bit fatty...if you don't like the fat on the meat, skip this one) Milpitas roll

Came here for lunch and it was busy as usual. The plan was to go light and stop at a couple other restaurants for lunch so we only got three rolls. We got three of our regulars and they were delicious as expected. Staff is always quick and service is kind and attentive. Love Sendai Sushi!

How do we get on the wait list?

The front staff has a hand written list. Sometimes they walk to the line other times you need to make your way to the counter.

Will you be open for takeout during dinner time on 11/26/2022?

    Do they have kids menu?

I don't think so. I have seen parents share dishes with their kids.

    Have they opened indoor dining?

Yes, although it's a small number of tables.

    Dine in available?

We dined in a month ago.

Dine-in available? The website says no.

I believe it is - but I would call the restaurant to double check because that can change!

Is dine-in available as of today 7/19/2021?

    Yes!

Any no rice sushi on the menu that can be ordered?

They have sashimi platters if that's something you're interested in

You can purchase gift certificates in the restaurant.

Is there outdoor seating? or only delivery/takeout? thanks.

Only takeout! And it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday night.

    It works as of today.

    They accept take-out orders.

Do they have vegan sushi options?

    is this really a question???

    Happy hour specials?

    Not at this place :(

What dressing do they use on their salads? It tastes great!

It is the usual Japanese style dressing based on ginger. You can actually get bottles of them at Japanese mart like Mitsuwa.

Do they serve oystershooter drinks here?

    No oyster shooters here.

Do they have all you can eat?

    Sadly, no.

To finish, we ordered the matcha ice cream with fried banana, which was a fun way to end the meal. The warm banana paired really well with the cold, creamy matcha ice cream! Love love this dessert! The order was packed very well. I orderd 2 miso soups but received 3 small boxes filled with soup. I appreciate that! I ordered buy 1 roll get 1 free offer on the third party ordering platform plus any 3 rolls for $18. The spicy tuna roll was very good but salmon skin roll, spicy scallop roll and yellowtail Jalapeno roll were all okay. I liked the spicy scallop roll the most. The salmon skin roll was too fishy for me. The spicy tuna roll was spicy but there was less umami in it. Also, the roll tasted a bit tangy. The other two rolls were okay as well. The miso soup was nice and less salty. I enjoyed sipping it piping hot in a mug. They had given a good amount of wasabi and pickled ginger on the sides. The food was packed well and a lot of soy sauce packets were given. Chopsticks and napkins were provided as well. I would live to try some specialty rolls as well. I saw that this location is open late so I might guve it a try!
