Pad Thai with Tofu, Mama Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, and Boat Noodles
    Michelle H.

Sen Mee Noodle House is a restaurant that serves Southeast Asian food, which is pretty neat. Parking can be a bit tight as the restaurant shares the parking lot with another place. There is a decent amount of seating and the vibes were nice. It took some time for our food to come out, perhaps because there was a larger group ahead of us. My friends and I got the Pad Thai with Tofu, Mama Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, and Boat Noodles. I ordered the Mama Pad Kee Mao with Chicken and I guess I did not fully read the description as it came with ramen noodles (?) rather than the wide flat rice noodles that I am used to with this dish. I think it was a unique twist and it still tasted good. I tried a bit of the Pad Thai with Tofu and it was really saucy, although not my preferred dish. The Boat Noodles had a good broth! It actually reminded me of pho that my mom makes, but now I am wondering if her pho is actually boat noodles, haha. There were also some cool Asian inspired cocktails but we did not get any. I think this is more of a hip restaurant to eat food, but I think it does satisfy taste buds. I would come here again to try their Vietnamese Taro Spring Rolls as my mother makes these and I have not seen a restaurant have these on their menu.

Take out Pad Thai-had to use my own chopsticks because I was given a plastic fork. At a noodle house...

100% losing a star because I was given a fork instead of chopsticks. The Pad Thai was good. Not as good as what I have had in Thailand but good enough to try again as I live nearby. Perhaps with more heat? I got the medium heat. There does appear to be a little something missing from the flavor though compared to the best I've ever had. The vibe seems solid inside. On time order. Clearly way more expensive than the origin country.

Overall good dishes. Make sure to ask for specials of the day, if any. I ordered the 'Khao Piak' - essentially a chicken noodle soup. Tasty with authentic flavor - beware of the amount of chili oil you put in. Made my soup very spicy! You can ask for hoisin on the side. Next was the Kaprow - good but normally would come with a fried egg on top. Would have loved to have that on there. Vietnamese taro spring rolls were solid. The papaya salad was a bit salty for our preference but the squeeze of lime helped offsets that.

Sen Mee Noodle House has some of the best food and portion size I've ever had! I started with the Tom Yum soup, which was perfectly spicy and full of flavor. The crab rangoons were crispy and delicious. For the main course, the chicken Pad Thai and fried rice were on point--full of flavor and satisfying. The BEST fried rice I've ever had. I washed it down with a white peach soju, which was super refreshing. Best part of it all - the portions were large enough to make multiple meals out of 1! The overall restaurants vibe is trendy and cozy with lots of sunlight and greenery. Perfect for a lunch, or date night location. Lastly, shoutout to the owner Jenny for taking care of us! Highly recommend this spot for tasty food and a great experience!

We had Thai tea, Pad Thai, and a Pho noodle bowl. Everything tasted amazing -- honestly the best we've had in Charlotte. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has convenient parking. Everything about our visit was perfect.

Absolutely outstanding pho! I'm not huge fan of pho but this was outstanding. Along with the sangria which in saturdays are 5 dollars!!!!

Aesthetic: Modern SouthEast Asian restaurant with a variety of noodle dishes, soups, and curries. My Favorites: The Tom Yum Noodle Bowl! Experience: I always have the best food here, they have my favorite Thai dishes in CLT. The Tom Yum and Tom Kha broths are to die for, I've ordered out and dined in, and they're always perfection. I enjoy that you can add rice noodles for a gluten friendly option. My husband loves the curry dishes. We also ordered the iced coffee and Thai tea, and loved them too. The staff is also friendly and makes us feel welcome. I can't wait to go back!

So, this used to be in the same spot as a ramen spot (I guess they went out of business) considering the location is not the best. Limited parking but it's next to a big parking area so you could also park there and walk far. The place is small but it is expected out of a building like that. The service was good, people were nice. The food was decent. We got the special papaya tray and hardly ate some of the toppings because it was too much. A little overprice for the portion. As well as the pad Thai and curry. Green curry didn't have any flavor in it but pad Thai was good. Drink prices are good too, this Thai coffee martini was delicious. Probably wouldn't come again but it was nice to experience it.

Came here for dinner on Saturday 9/14. They were pretty busy but we sat at a table by the window. Service was ok. Not very attentive. They had one lady working, taking orders and one guy delivering them. It's a smaller space with about 10 tables max and bar seating. Outside of taking our order and delivering the food no one really checked on us. We ordered the crab Rangoon, calamari, chicken wings and chicken lo mein. The calamari and crab Rangoon weren't served very hot but had good flavor. I actually sent the calamari back to be remade which they had no problem doing. The lo mein on the other hand was served piping hot and full of fresh vegetables and noodles. I really enjoyed the dish and it was enough for us to split. Not sure if you're supposed to bus your own table at the end but the people next to us were so we cleaned off our table as well. All the plates and silverware are disposable so we just tossed them out. Overall, we did enjoy the food here. They could use some small improvements with the service but everything else was good.

Wow, a great new addition to the Charlotte food scene! I feel like sometimes with Southeast Asian cuisine, there's a few basics that restaurants always have so it's so refreshing to see that Sen Mee is adding very authentic dishes that might not be available at other restaurants in Charlotte. We definitely had to try the boat noodles as we've heard many good things and we were not disappointed! They serve food in to-go style and paper containers so it's a bit more of a casual vibe, but don't underestimate their portions. I was so filled up by the end! The noodle to broth ratio was perfect and there was a good amount of protein (various types of meat) that I was able to have a piece with each bite. I've never had boat noodles before and the broth was so flavorful, but not heavy, and it also comes with fresh veggies on the sides (bean sprouts, jalapenos, thai basil, lime, etc.). I also really like having the seasonings/spices on the table so you can customize the spice levels according to your taste. Service was super friendly and efficient. You can definitely feel the love that they put into their food. I can't wait to come back and try the new additions that they're going to put onto the menu!

I tried this place during lunch on a Saturday when they were opened for a week of two. Not a lot of people. Food was good and tasty. Pad Thai wasn't too sweet like other places. Calamari was delicious. The mango sticky rice was good but for 8 dollars+ I probably will not get it again for that portion. The service was fast and quick. The ambiance is very chill and relaxing. I hope they get more customers to come in.

This is, without exaggeration, the best ramen I've ever had -- the kind you dream about afterward, and then feel genuinely heartbroken over because it's five hours away from home. Why must the best things always be so far away from me?! But this spot has officially earned a permanent place on my "best of the best" list for my bestie's city, and I am beyond stoked to come back. Everything we tried -- every single bite -- was incredible. Honestly, no wonder there's a line out the door. This place has earned it.

We started with the pork gyoza, which were delivered quickly and were delicious. For our entrees, I had the Tonkotsu Black with added braised tofu, and my husband had the Spicy Tantan. I don't usually like eggs in my ramen (because they are never cooked enough), but Menya cooked theirs perfectly soft boiled, and I loved the flavor the egg added to the soup. Both soups had complex flavors, and we loved them. The tofu was great--thinly sliced and flavorful, if a bit salty--but I am not sure I'd need it again. My husband thought his soup was perfectly spicy. A note about parking - if you can park in the lot in front of the building, you scan a QR code, and open a parking time block. (I believe Menya paid for a 2-hour block.) You then enter the information on an iPad at the back of the restaurant to validate your parking and start the clock. It was easier than I expected, and I'd definitely use this parking service again. And if you can't get a spot in the lot in front of the building, you can park on the neighborhood streets just one or two blocks away. All told, it was a great meal for a reasonable cost. We'll definitely return!

I did like how they have these DIY take-home plastic wares accessible and ready to go...so some points for that! Overall, it's just a casual eatery...not a full scale restaurant. I prefer full scale service, complete with nicely plated presentations, but this type of DIY eatery is just something that's becoming more common.

Once we finally made it inside, we waited another 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took close to another 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then roughly another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So you're potentially looking at well over an hour and a half of waiting and inconvenience before you really get to eat. And the dim sum cart that brought us there in the first place? We never saw one. They did have a dim sum menu that we could order from, but that was not the experience being promoted in the videos we had seen. The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the hype or the amount of time and hassle involved. If you've had good dim sum in places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, this isn't remotely in the same league. Between the parking, the long waits, slow service, missing dim sum cart, and average food, I genuinely don't understand the crowds. Hard pass for us. Once and done.
