I'm happy to report that my 2025 visit to Paprika was excellent. It was not so good in 2020. This year, we eaten at at Paprika 3 times over a 4 week period. Great food and great service. Probably more of a place for culinary foodies looking for a break from the ubiquitous tacos, tecate and tequila dinners. My FAVORITE guacamole on the Island. We loved it so much, we came back the next night and ordered the same thing! We got the calamari to start which was so tender and perfectly fried with a delicious dipping sauce. Then we shared the fried octopus with onions and potatoes and the fried fish tacos which were both excellent in flavor and preparation. During Carnival we were the only diners there and enjoyed the enchiladas mole, coconut shrimp, chile rellenos, and fish tacos. Good choices as everyone was happy with their choices. Service was good and as another reviewer reported the only problem was being along the noisy Main Street. There was a full bar and all went as hoped. read more

Must stop!! I never leave reviews but I felt the need for this place. Started with guacamole, amazing! Shrimp quesadilla for me, so much flavor. My husband had the chicken fajitas and ate every bit. We are staying at Park Royal and are almost done with our trip, wish we would have tried this sooner! My parents come in 2 weeks and we told them they have to come here. The food here is incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. The whole staff seems to take great pride in the quality of what they serve. I was able to see into the kitchen from where I sat, and saw the staff briefly gather to admire a particularly fresh and succulent snapper that a chef was filleting. The ceviche was a perfect balance of all flavors, plus just the right acidity level. My cousin's burger was so big that she got a second meal from the leftovers. Love! If you're staying a Casa Del Mar, this place is right next to the hotel and a must visit. If you're not staying at Casa Del Mar, this place is still a must visit. My boyfriend and I came here twice during our stay and we honestly wish we had skipped some of the other places we went to and came here instead. Even though we only came here twice, we tried a lot of stuff. Ceviche Mixto The ceviche here is super fresh and cooked with the perfect amount of lime juice. It has fish, shrimp, octopus, onions, tomatoes, & cilantro. We ordered this both times we ate here. Arrachera with Cactus Yum! This was a lot of food. It came with chorizo as well. The steak was cooked to perfection and was super tender and juicy. The cactus sauce was really interesting and yummy as well. Tamarind Margarita This was the only thing I didn't really enjoy. It was way too sweet for me, but I also dislike sugar more than the average person (ie. I don't like 99% of desserts). I ordered it because I was expecting it to be more tart because of the tamarind. Ojo Rojo Ojo rojos are my favorite drink. I order it with Dos Equis. It's basically like a Bloody Mary, but instead of vodka, I mix it with beer. The ojo rojo mix they make here is great. Maya Salad Ordered this because we had eaten almost no veggies for like a week. Wasn't expecting too much from this, but it was so so good!! The pumpkin seeds, carrots and dressing were the best part. We got this with no meat because we ordered it as an appetizer, but next time I come back, I'd definitely order it with the chicken option and have it as a main entree. The guava dressing is to die for and I normally never add dressings to my salads. Not sure how "authentically Mayan" this salad was, but no joke, it was probably my second favorite thing out of all the things I ate in Cozumel. Mole Chicken SO FREAKIN GOOD! This was my favorite thing I had during my entire trip hands down. I tried mole at two other restaurants, but this one absolutely won out. We ordered too much food and I was already feeling stuffed by the time this entree came out, but the sauce was so good, I ate everything. And I mean everything. All the meat off the chicken, every speck of rice, and I used the tortillas to wipe any remaining sauce off my plate. MUST ORDER! Coconut shrimp My boyfriend ordered this. I had a bite and thought it was really good! The shrimp was definitely fresh and it was fried/cooked perfectly. The batter was really flakey. The shrimp were huge too. Jamaican Margarita (?) with worm salt I didn't try any, but my boyfriend really enjoyed it. I did try some of the salt with the worms in it. It just tastes like normal margarita salt, honestly. Holy cow, so good. I highly recommend the fish tacos- fresh red snapper or rooster fish- served on home made tortillas with the toppings. You get 4 in an order which is more than you need. Not the best when it comes to food. This is similar to other American/Spanish restaurant in America but NOT traditionally Mexican. If you want authentic Mexican food go elsewhere. Also, price isn't very cheap. Paid $30 for a small meal for 2 here. I can pay about $35 for a 3 person meal at Nandos. The food wasn't any special either. Tasted like grocery store quality food you can prepare for yourself without any special seasonings or spices. Very small portions as well. Not worth the $$$ I spent. ****Instead of the actual exchange rate of 19 pesos for an American dollar, they charge 15 pesos which again, is a rip off. Once again, if you want the authentic Mexican taste, ask the taxi drivers who offer the shore excursions a little past what the cruise's offer and ask for their advice for the authentic Mexican food!
