This place deserves more than 5 stars. My family loves this place. Great food and you never leave hungry.

Food was delicious! Service was friendly and quick, one of our new favorite places to eat!

Don't go if you are looking for dinner right now. We arrived right at about 6 pm. There really only one person running the front, and we are waiting a while. The dish washer person is coming out to actually collect dishes. And the spilled water on the floor next the down on the end from the seating goes unnoticed. And table next to us goes uncleared. My hats off to the young man trying to manage everything but he could use some extra hands and probably a bathroom break. So I am not sure about the food. Because ours still hasn't come yet. You might wanna check out another restaurant. And avoid coming here differently tonight. The ladies who used to run the front are gone, and I am thinking the manager or owner doesn't give 2 cents right now. Avoid avoid avoid. The food was amazing. The service was great and the restaurant was clean and all the sauces were ready for customers.

They added flautas which are the rolled chicken or beef tacos using flour instead of corn. I'm still bummed they never added taquitos. But the chicken flautas with a side of guacamole is one of my favorites now next to the Birria tacos special. Love this place so much it seems like a second home. read more

This little place is not bad at all. I loved their it sauces! They recommend the chipotle burrito and it was fantastic! Great balance of flavors between the steaks and the peppers and sour cream. I poured the white hot sauce on mine which made it even better! The kids meals were a decent size for the money as well. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Choose this rather new Mexican restaurant close to home last night for a quick dinner after family members returning from a quick up and back trip to Fairbanks to pick up a new Buick Enclave. Second time to this restaurant and it is a great place eat. A new building that has excellent decor, spacious seating a quick service. Enter and proceed to the counter to order your selections from a fairly extensive menu board. Pay for your meal and receive a number stand for your food to be delivered to your table. The have bottled and canned specialty drinks you can pick up at the counter or request a cup size to self-serve from the soda fountain plus sweet and unsweetened tea dispensers. Choose your table and place your stand on it. Get your drinks if you choose the dispenser and/or go the the salsa bar. They have containers of multiple types and heat of Salas for self-serve. Plastic containers are available to fill with any or all multiples of the labeled salsa sauce. Next to the salsa sauce they have a variety of hot sauce bottles that you can choose from to add additional heat to your meal. The premade salsa sauce ranges from mild to hot and Habanero. Also two types of green salsa sauce. I choose the hot red salsa and one each of the two green salsa sauce. I will do the habanero on my next visit. The all the sauces were flavorful and tasty. The spicy red salsa was excellent and I didn't need to add additional hot sauce to it. One of the green salsa was mild and one slightly spicy. All were very good but for me I would have up the spice in the green salsa. They bring chips to your table just after you set down. We had several selections from the menu board for the four of us. I have provided pictures of each person's choices. The dishes were well prepared and hot. I had a 3 Taco Special with rice and beans. They accept credit cards and Apple Pay, and have a military/senior discount. If you select the fountain option the drinks are unlimited. They have tables that would accommodate groups and large families. They are a great place for children. Plenty of parking. read more

Brought my hispanic wife to the Wasilla location who had never tried this place before. She was as impressed as I was when I went. She loved the ochata and the great salsa bar. Chilaquiles were on point and the beans were delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Food - The carnitas tacos were literally just meat and tortillas. I'm not sure if you can get cheese or other items on them. The menu didn't specify and they didn't ask when I ordered. They didn't skimp on the meat though. That was a great thing. And they doubled up the tortillas so they don't split when you're trying to eat them. Service - The attendant at the front was thorough, but looked either extremely bored or slightly ticked off. She wasn't rude. Just a little off-putting. And not helpful. Ambiance - it's basically feels like a Taco Bell but with authentic Mexican food. It's almost Taco Bell prices too! For next time: -I'll ask if I can cheese, guacamole, etc -I'll try out more sauces on the salsa bar. read more

My husband and I come from California. We came to visit for the holidays and stopped by at señor taco, we order a Assad burrito and where expecting a carne Assad burrito but instead we got a bean and beef wet burrito, when we started eating we realized that it didn't had pico de Gallo nor rice, only beans and beef, when I asked they told me that Assad burrito doesn't come with rice only beans and beef. Beans where not fresh almost tastes from a can. Assad was also not fresh. read more

The restaurant was so much better when it was the little hole in the wall restaurant in the Carrs plaza. The new large restaurant up next to Home Depot has demonstrated that every time a place upscales , the quality suffers and the prices increase, such a pity. We came in to buy some food from this location and we were unfortunately mistreated by one of your cashiers. We had a concern about one of the orders not being correct and we honestly believe that my Indigenous girlfriend was discriminated against. She was treated with distain when she asked to restructure the order and she was literally upset enough to have to leave. The cashier did not apologize, smile, nor was she welcoming from the beginning. I don't recommend this restaurant. I think it's tragic that there's a big sign out there that says that they are a "family style" business & that they treat people like family, when, in fact, our experience was completely the opposite. I ordered the queen tostada. What I got was a taco salad. A tostada by definition is on a flat tortilla usually corn. While the flavor was ok the temp was low. I ordered a large horchata which should come with lots of ice mine was tepid. I suggest skipping this place and going to Chepo's. The food and service is FAR better. read more

Pros: lots of meat on my street tacos, clean dining area Cons: we used a Northern Lights coupon (buy one lunch get one free) - I thought my three tacos or my husband's enchilada meal would be free. But b/c the way their menu it set up I guess she only comped one of three tacos. So usually we'd save ~$10 with these coupons and we only saved $3.90. That's poor customer service and maybe it's her managers call, dunno. Street tacos came out naked- meat & tortilla. Ive never been to a place that doesn't at least put onions, cilantro, and a side of lime. Granted the not-so-fresh looking salsa bar has these items...onions looked old, cilantro dried out, and there was a bucket of lemons?! Not limes.. Husband's beans were soupy. 1st time here. Told the people (a girl was training a young boy) twice this was our first time here. Didn't really do much to explain their menu. I said I would like a halibut taco l. "Do you want anything with that?" Um... like what? "Beans and rice." No thank you. I'll also have a taco adobada. " "do you want beans and rice with that?" Ummm... No. Neither of these tacos would I order again. Halibut taco was 6.25, other 4.25. My friend had a queen tostada, that was actually pretty decent for 11.25. Got the courage to try this place - I like Chepo's which is owned by the same people. I went at lunch and saw the place filled with Mexican construction workers and two old white women LOL! Figured it had to be good. The menu is on the wall but there is a menu at the counter that explains everything. I had the pork verde burro and it was filled with a dark, rich green sauce and thick, tender chunks of pork. I was blown away. It tasted really good and what I would think was authentic. There was also a salsa bar that looked fresh to me - I got the sour cream. I waited maybe 10 mins for my meal to be called out but it was noon and busy on a Friday (payday). The place quickly filled with construction workers of all race and I realized I was the lone woman amongst about 22 men. It was like a Mexican version of a truck stop but in a good way. I have to say within 24 hours I realized the pork verde burro might have been a little "too authentic" if you get my drift... I don't think there was anything wrong with the food or that it was tainted, just a little strong for a wussie stomacho like mine!! The food was delicious. read more

First time here, pretty good overall. Inside is not fancy, just a simple little place to eat with some good food. Menu is pretty decent, lots of options. They have a little booklet by the register that goes into some of the details of what is in each item...which helped me to change my mind. While the ordering may be fast food like, everything appeared to be freshly made and well prepared. Took 5-10mins for everything to be ready, which was fine by us. Everything we had was good. Senor Burro Chile Colorado for me. Big portion, flour tortilla filled with chunks of beef and refried beans. Covered in red sauce and cheese. Also ordered nachos, and while they were good (seemed to be freshly made chips, covered in shredded cheese, put under a broiler to melt), probably would not order again, just didn't see the value. And finally a carnitas taco, which was simply a tortilla and pork. Plenty of sauces and toppings to make it your own, which was nice. Total with a drink around $20 or so. Not horrible (it is Alaska after all) for what we got, it's definitely not Taco Bell :-) We will be back for sure, try some new items. read more

First thing to understand..."Senor Taco" is "Chepos" owned and ran by the very same people, so if there are likes and dislikes in service or food, it exist at all locations. Went to Senor Taco about a month ago and was impressed by the selection, so ordered a Carne Asada platter and was very disappointed to see the meat was just finally chopped steak, possibly just a bottom round, very dry and flavorless. Carne Asada is supposed to be a Skirt or Flank Steak and seasoned in a lime/red pepper/cilantro/etc. marinade and then grilled and thinly sliced, and not cheap steak with taco seasoning. Went there a couple weeks later, this time tried the shrimp taco and a chicken fajita. The shrimp taco had great flavor, however was drowned in the spiced sauce. The Fajita meat mix was to much for the tortilla and looked like it still held the shape of being pre-packaged in a baggie. They should break it apart and sear well. Other suggestion... provide the grilled mix with the tortilla on the side and don't charge exorbitant amounts for the side if sour cream. Went to the Chepos in Eagle River and had a couple appetizers, stay away from the mini tacos. They are premade microwaved frozen items direct from Costco and are filled with artificial cheese sauce. They have great capability and options, and with their new restaurant about to open soon, lets hope they take the opportunity to fix and make better. read more

Stopped here one day and had the best tacos I have ever had north of the Mexican border. This place is the real deal. The folks working the counter and the owner were all very nice. And that awesome salsa bar!!! Wasilla, AK has a real gem in this place. read more
