Stopped in here the other day with my son. This place is kind cool looking. Set up of a little cantena. Our waitress was pretty helpful and service was fast enough. We both ordered the quesadilla 1 cheese and 1 pulled pork. Very tasty. Both came with sour cream and the free chips and salsa was nice. A bit pricey but again the food was good. Seems to be that everytime we go, they mess up an order. The reason we keep coming back is because we really like their food! Servers can have no personalities at times and the "gentleman" on the phone can be rude, sometimes rushing you off the phone. Perhaps that's why our to-go orders always get messed up! What a great place! The dis was excellent, everything on the menu was fairly priced. I had the Taco salad worth ground beef, everything except the rice and beans, it was so delicious, I ordered another one to take home with me. For appetizer we ordered the chicken empanadas and the jalapeno poppers, again just delicious! The drinks were great, the waitress was attentive and the didn't spend a fortune, we've been there twice and would go back for sure! Not really all as bad as I expected. Why I expected bad, I'm not sure but I did. I drive by this place super often and always wondered how they will ever stay in business, as I have never seen a car in the lot.(I'm a dinkus apparently, as parking is in the rear) I even added to my dinkus-ness by parking in front no less. Ordered take-out for 4 hombres (20 min was actually 30 min but whatever) and was pretty surprised at how well the food tasted. (I'm a former resident of San Diego and ALL Mexican in that area is stellar.) I really liked the decor as yellow is my favorite color (my girlfriend thinks that's just hilarious as Slayer is also my favorite band) and it seemed an overall lively/fun place to grab a meal. Upon paying I spotted the the girl (waitress I assume) crouched behind the counter texting on her phone. Not really the best look for an employee, but it was also pretty crowded and she looked as if she was beat down and shot for the night. (We have ALL been there at some point so I don't judge, actually I do, but I guess not this time so much) Just happy to have something in Wading River beside Pizza. We have 3 of those by the way. This was my first time back since the pandemic, and ALOT has changed, and not for the better! We where weekly regulars before the pandemic but the only thing that remains from that time is our server. The ONLY redeeming part of the entire night was our server sean. Everyone else must have quit because there was NO ONE else left from before the pandemic. Sean was as amazing as he always was and even remembered us from almost a year ago, he was amazing especially given the fact that he seemed to be the only one doing anything other then taking phone calls. He made our drinks(not as good or strong as they used to be with Chris) delivered our food(also more expensive and not as tasty) was litterally running around in full sprints to bring food outside and answer phones. He really does deserve a lot of credit and is the ONLY reason this place got 3 stars and not one. the only place that is still using menus, and not at allll keeping 6ft between tables. They are understaffed, overworking the little staff they do have, the food has become more expensive but worse tasting, the drinks seemed watered down. Avocado Chopped Salad- Ordered 3 over the phone for pick up. Was told that because they ran out of avocados and had to buy them at the supermarket, they would charge an additional $1.50 per salad. They charged an extra $1 for chili when we asked to put the cheese that it came with on the side! The last couple times ordering, we received maybe a slice chopped up of avocado and no avocado on another occasion. I think Señor Taco needs to take avocado off their menu - I certainly will not be back. read more

On the second call, they told me to hold on but never put me on hold so I could hear arguing in the background and then they hung up. When I got them home they were basically empty shells with nothing in them..soggy and wet I mean nothing. I will never eat here again . After being loyal customers throughout Covid (ordering takeout at least once a week) and supporting the business for years now, I can confidently say I will never go back after how poorly my family and I were treated. My family and I went for dinner on a Friday night, so like anywhere on a weekend we expect the food to take longer; however, we waited an hour and a half to get tacos and a salad. Meanwhile, our waitress didn't come over to us once, it seemed as though she was actually avoiding eye contact with us-I don't put the fault on the waitress because she cannot control the kitchen. Finally, she sent the manager over to speak with us and this is the exact reason I will not go back. He said it would just be a short while longer, which ended up being 30 more minutes. And his answer to the problem was to send over tequila shots (we were with our 70 year old parents) and told us to call corporate if we weren't satisfied. While business seems to be booming and the food is still delicious, this place is a disorganized mess. There was more than enough wait staff to handle a half full room, take phone orders and man the new bar, but for some reason delivering food in a timely manner seemed to be a daunting task. 30 minutes after calling in an order I showed up and paid. I wasn't told to wait, the girl just stopped talking to me and walked away. So I waited. And waited. And waited. I watched as the staff hurried around seeming to do everything and nothing at once. A sour faced girl kept emerging from the back and unceremoniously dropping orders on the back counter without calling out the order, so the take out orders just sat there while everyone waited. One of those bags of food was mine. I felt it was mine. I knew it was mine, but there it sat while the staff stressed over which tables had received chips and salsa. Finally I asked to have my order, and lo and behold there it had been sitting for 10 minutes. My burrito was a soggy mess that I ate with a fork. My beef empanadas were chicken, and apparently pico is some sort of special order now. I've had better experiencs here. read more

Guacamole- amazing Drinks- amazing (recommend the margaritas and sangria!!!) Burritos - so delicious, definitely recommend the fajita burrito Plantains- ugh cooked deliciously!!! I have had almost every thing on the menu here and it is all fantastic. Super friendly servers, really quick service, very reasonably priced. The only thing is I think they could work on the overall appearance, kinda looks like a dump especially given that it's in wading river. With Mesquite literally a mile away, there is really no reason to eat here unless you are looking for food that is just a step or two above Taco Bell. Maybe I am being harsh, but in comparison to other options, it is the reality. Additionally, the takeout containers do not work for hot food. They use cheap styrofoam style containers, which hot food will melt through (and it did) on your ride home. Also, your soft tacos will stick to the containers. That being said, the location is convenient and the ingredients seem fresh, but from a taste perspective...there is a lot left to be desired. read more

I get them with extra jalapeños & no meat since I'm a vegetarian but my carnivorous friends tell me that the meat choices are good as well. We were (my boyfriend and I) looking for a local eatery and we love tacos, burritos etc you name it. Tex-Mex is our go to! This establishment had an authentic interior vibe but the exterior was "creepy" to say the least. The food was just "ok." My BF got their basic steak burrito and I got their nachos with shrimp. They promised Queso on them (something along the lines of "drenched" in it) and did not deliver. There was NO QUESO whatsoever on it. A bit overpriced for what they think they're worth. Their Tres Leches was way too expensive for the puny size and was the least tasteful version I have ever had. I would rather get Tres Leches from the bakery on Portion Road in Selden/Farmingville area. We won't be eating here again. read more

I normally don't sit down during the week with my busy work schedule but being that I had some time to kill and was in the mood for some Tex Mex I stopped here. I grabbed a seat at the bar being that it was only me. I noticed that it seemed as if there was only 2 people working at the place because I saw someone in the kitchen and a young man who was the server getting food out of the kitchen. I thought this is quite odd being that it 1210 on a Friday and it's lunch time. It took the young man 8 minutes before I was acknowledged at the bar, but the poor guy was constantly going in and out of the kitchen getting takeout orders and serving the other customers at the tables so I can understand this. I looked it they had any drink any drink specials and there was a chalkboard on the wall that said happy hour 12-7. So I looked at their drink menu which by the way had no prices and ordered a Jalapeño margarita. The young man crafted the drink in front of me however the drink had nothing about It that even had a slight taste or hint of jalapeño in it. Took another 10 minutes until my order was actually taken because the young man was busy running food takeout orders out of the kitchen and attending to other patrons. After my order was taken finally some help popped out of kitchen to help out being that it was at this point almost 1230 and it was in the middle of lunch time. The lady who came out of the kitchen saw me at the bar and asked me if I would like another drink, this Jalapeño margarita was tasty and you can taste the heat of the jalapeño and I told her this tasted much better then the previous drink. So far I am thinking not a great start but I saw my burrito coming out of the kitchen so I was hopeful that things would get better. I had ordered a pulled pork burrito. Being as hungry as I was took a few quick bites out of the burrito and after about the fourth bite I realized that there was no pulled pork in the Pulled Pork burrito. I unwrapped the burrito making sure that the pulled pork wasn't stuffed in the middle of the burrito. The burrito was loaded with nothing but rice and beans and not one morsel of pork. I spoke to the server and returned my burrito saying it had no pork. So after waiting nearly another 10 minutes they allegedly made me a fresh burrito and this time before taking a bite of the burrito they had no more then 2 teaspoons worth of pulled pork. I was extremely disappointed with my burrito. The rice, beans and guacamole was so over powering to the pulled pork I couldn't even tasted the little bit of the pulled pork. A chipotle burrito has more meat then in this sad burrito. I spent nearly an hour for improperly made food and drink.Now here's the kicker I paid 10.95 for a burrito that had 2 spoons worth of pulled pork and $22.00 for 2 margaritas in which the first one was made improperly. So much for the everyday 12-7 being happy hour. I am wondering what pricing is when it's. It happy hour since each margarita was 10.95. Conveniently the menu had no pricing for these drinks. I could have had a better meal and drink at chipotle that had more meat, less overpowering taste, quicker more attentive service and cheaper to boot. The slow service I don't blame on the workers because there should have been more employees available during a busy lunch time crowd. If you are looking for a Tex Mex place that gives poor service, a laughable amount of meat in the burritos, and over charges you then this is the place for you. read more

One of the problems with restaurant reviews is that the people that really need to read them- don't. Or, if they do, they ignore or do not care what people have to say. Many of the reviews for Senior Taco are telling ownership/management the same exact thing- you need to re-organize the way you serve your take out & sit down customers so that both are served efficiently. The service is always unorganized...they will get to your table when they can...and hopefully, you'll get your food someday. They also seem to be having a hard time deciding if the main focus should be on the bar first-food second or the other way around. The food is good but it's typical Mex/American bar food. So, if your ok with sub-par service, paper plates, plastic baskets & forks & knives & just ok food, Senor Taco is your place! read more

This place was possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever experienced. I will try to be brief and to the point. I will give a rundown of the items ordered. I ordered a chicken taco on a flour tortilla. First of all it had less than 2oz of chicken, very skimpy. It was simply covered in an abundance of chopped onions. So then we move on to the chips and cheese that was ordered. That was laughable. So a little a two oz. round plastic cup you might put some salad dressing or wing sauce into was used for the cheese sauce. It was not real question. It was the type of cheese used at a fair. It was exactly like the cheese you can get from 7-Eleven out of the warmer and a small tray of chips. The white and red striped paper tray containers. Then also ordered for our table was three shredded beef taquitos with white rice that comes on the side. Each taquito had an only a little more than an oz. of beef in each taquito That was also laughable. The rice was an instant rice type that looked like "Uncle Ben's". So keep this all in mind right. Also a strawberry margarita was ordered. It came out in a white 8oz. plastic cup, the type you get water in at fountain machine if you don't order a soda. This whole establishment had cheap written all over it. Here is the final kicker. Everything was brought to our table on paper plates, like we were at the state fair or some carnival. I predict this place will not last long. I've eaten good Mexican food from coast to coast and this was not good, much less than authentic. Taco Bell is a better value. Imagine that! I will definitely not go back. This entire order cost $31.00, plus I gave our server $5 tip because it wasn't her fault. That whole order should have barely been over $20.00 plus a tip. They need to consider a consultation with Jon Taffer who hosts the show "Bar Rescue". He could teach them a thing or two. I will be passing by there in the future and won't be surprised to see if it is closed. You can't burn people and expect them to want to return. You have a lot of completion out there. Sometimes even something as little as sour cream that should've been included like it states on the menu. Then even when I go to pick up the order, the man is still rude. Poor customer service. Started out a little slow but I think that was due to the overwhelming volume of traffic when they first opened. Everything seems to have smoothed out now. Severely dropping the ball recently senor taco wading river has been one of my 5 STAR restaurants for years. They handled all of the covid difficulties with grace however in more recent orders their Consistency has begun to slip. My two visits prior to today my burrito has been wrong. So wrong 4 out of 7 ingredients were missing from my last Burrito order. However their customer service redeemed them I called up and immediately the credit in my account so the next time I picked up a meal (tonight) My burrito would be paid for. Tonight it came out excellent like good times at all the ingredients and they were all cooked amazingly a burrito made with true love lol However my wife salad today was not the case. If you would picture a veggie taco salad without veggies And I would take a picture of it on my seemingly pregnant wife already scarfed it down. Essentially it was just a taco shell with lettuce and pico de gallo. They are a great restaurant they have amazing food and always had excellent customer service however the longer the Covid restrictions have gone on the more they have seemed to forget ingredients or significantly under estimate the time it was going to take to process the order I frequently find myself showing up 10 minutes late and still waiting an additional 15 minutes in the parking lot. My fiancee and I are locals who have frequented senior taco since long before they came to wading river. Tonight we had the "pleasure" of speaking with the proprietor of the establishment, gerard, and sadly, it will be our last visit. My fiancee found clear plastic shards on her meal. We called and notified senior taco of the problem. Their employee, Sean, was very apologetic and went above and beyond to try to resolve the issue immediately. He offered to replace the meal or refund the cost of that item. We only live 5 minutes away, so we said we would come back for the refund.. We arrived and sean gave us the cost of the fajita back... at this point we are thinking it's an honest mistake and they did what they could to make good on the ruined meal. We were wrong.... as we pulled away, sean came running out and flagged us down. He explained that the owner had said not to give us the money back and that he was supposed to get it from us.. it was clear that he was uncofortable at this point, because he had done the right thing, but now his boss was telling him to get the money back. He said that he would be happy to take the money out of his own pocket to keep us as customers.. but that was not going to be ok with me.. I'm not taking money out of some poor working kids pocket because his boss doesn't value his customers... I asked to speak with the owner.. I was put on the phone with Gerard who claimed to be the owner. I explained the situation and told him how sean had indeed done the right thing in refunding that item. And that Seans actions would have saved a custimer.. Gerard disagreed.. He went on a rant about how we are likely liars trying to get a free fajita.. raving madly about how HE'S A CHEF, A BUSINESS OWNER 40 YEARS IN BUSINESS, HE KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE HIS CUSTOMERS...
