The rest area. Very clean. No smells!
    Obese T.

As rest areas go, this one is top notch. Restrooms are clean, grounds are kept (meaning no dog poop everywhere). Plenty of tables to eat and water faucets were clean.

As far as rest areas go this is one of the better ones in the desert. Lots of parking, fairly clean restrooms, vending machines, and lots of picnic tables with a view of the train track.

Clean rest area on the way to Yuma.

Nice rest area on the Interstate 8 on the way to Yuma, AZ. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Multiple shaded picnic tables and vending machines available.

Nice stop. Vending machines available. Cleanish restrooms. Sinks kinda suck and air dryer didn't dry my hands at all.

It's a rest stop. Always clean, never had a problem stopping here on my trips or taking a breather and resting a bit.

Not in top shape. It is clean and there is toilet paper and the AC works. The commodes could use some maintenance.

This is truly in the middle of nowhere. The types of places that are getting harder to find. This…read moreis a gas station with an ice cream shop next door that also serves some to go food such as burritos. Great Thrifty brand ice cream and a wonderful selection of coffees. This is a very welcome respite when on the road. The ice cream shakes are all great. The coffees are a perfect pick me up. So many choices to choose from. But what stood out to me was the date shake. Yes I know date land is known for their date shakes. But just a little way further east is this gem. Their date shake is so much better. Better taste. Better size. Better price. Do yourself a favor and skip Dateland if all you're stopping there for is the date shake. Travel another less than 20 minutes and come here. You won't be disappointed. Even better. The bathrooms are among the cleanest I've ever seen. Always clean and supplied whether inside or out. They sell Chevron gas and prices aren't horrible. This is the middle of nowhere gem you've been missing

Conde's Middle of Nowhere: The Hidden Gem I Almost Missed…read more For ten years, I've been driving to Arizona twice a month--twice! And not once did I stop at Conde's Middle of Nowhere. Why? Because it felt so remote it gave me the heebie-jeebies, like the kind of place where you half expect tumbleweeds and eerie silence. But this time, nature called, and I couldn't wait until Dateland. I reluctantly pulled over, and let me tell you--I've been sleeping on this spot for a decade! Conde's isn't just a store or a gas station--it's like stepping into a slice of old-town Americana that's been sprinkled with modern charm. Think quaint country vibes but updated with all the conveniences you didn't know you needed. They've got gas, soda machines, ice cream treats, shaded seating areas (thank you, Arizona heat!), and even a clean restroom--which, let's be real, is a rarity on these long desert drives. But the real star of the show? Conde's Café. I'm talking about date shakes with cinnamon, people! They've taken a classic and elevated it to a whole new level of delicious. And get this--when you order a shake, you get a FREE 24 oz reusable cup. Yes, you heard that right. A sustainable, guilt-free excuse to indulge. The shake itself? Smooth, creamy, and downright life-changing. Don't worry coffee lovers, the concoctions are downright flavorful enticing. From now on, forget Dateland. Conde's is where it's at. This place is warm, inviting, and gloriously uncrowded--no lines, no chaos, just good vibes and great service. Travelers, take note: this isn't just a pit stop, it's a must-stop. Do yourself and family a favor--pull over, grab a shake, ice cream, iced coffee or even a pop and take a breather. You'll thank me later. And please add more reviews. Gratuities are Good karma. Note: no electric charge stations like Dateland- that's the only missing link. "Sometimes you should judge a book by its cover but maybe because it's 2025 it was okay to uncover this book." *Safe for melanated travelers

Not much to say. If…read moreyou're driving down the road and you've got to go, this is the place for you. Pretty basic rest stop to relieve oneself. Surprisingly clean inside. Wasn't defiled by graffiti artists or anything. Seemed to be well stocked with toilet seat covers and toilet paper. There was a sign warning about critters and even poisonous critters in the vicinity. Also, a rather large parking area for both cars and semi-trucks or trucks with campers, etc. towed behind them. If you're driving and get tired, please pull in and rest for a bit, that's why it is called a rest stop, right? It was better than expected, rather busy, and very safe. Definitely a decent place to stop and use the facilities.

It's near mile marker 87, about 64 miles west of Phoenix, AZ and 68 miles east of Quartzsite, AZ. The rest area has clean restroom facilities, plenty of parking for vehicles of different sizes (from motorcycles to 18-wheelers), several picnic areas, dog walking area, snack machines behind heavy metal bars, and a water spigot. There are some fun informational signs about topics unique to Arizona --(1) rattlesnakes, Gila monsters, and scorpions. (2) state parks, attractions. (3) fun facts about cacti. (4) and my favorite, the 5 Cs of Arizona: cattle, citrus, climate, copper, and cotton. My understanding is that Arizona allows motorists to stay here overnight, and restrooms are open 24/7; however, it's likely to be very noisy given its proximity to the freeway and the high volume of trucks and traffic coming into the rest area.

Pulled into Love's Travel Stop in Gila Bend somewhere between "I need gas" and "I need to get out…read moreof this car for five minutes before I lose my mind," and this place hit perfectly. First impression, it's big. Wide open, easy to maneuver, no weird angles or tight turns. After hours on the road, that alone feels like a luxury. You don't have to think. You just pull in, find a pump, and breathe for a second. Inside is where it really stands out. It's clean. Not "someone wiped this down an hour ago" clean, but consistently maintained. Floors aren't sticky, shelves aren't wrecked, and everything feels like it's been looked after instead of just survived. Grabbed a coffee and something quick to eat, and it actually felt like there were options. Not just sad gas station food sitting under heat lamps. You can tell they expect people to stop here, not just pass through. Staff had that steady, road-tested energy. Friendly without overdoing it. Quick, efficient, a couple casual words exchanged, and you're on your way. Exactly what you want in a place like this. Bathrooms were the clincher. Clean, stocked, no hesitation walking in. If you've done enough highway driving, you know that's half the battle right there. This is one of those stops that resets you a bit. You walk out a little less tired, a little less annoyed at the road. Five stars. No question. If I'm coming through Gila Bend again, I'm not even considering anywhere else.
