Unfortunately, I got terrible experience, because I decided to pay via Groupon. The information on the website was initially incomplete (meaning it was false). done within an hour, as soon as I found out, after paying for the reservation, that I had to pay extra. I didn't like it , because I think it's a scam and dishonest , and decided to cancel right away. cancellation was done within an hour, as soon as I found out, after paying for the reservation, that I had to pay extra. Everything happened within an hour. He didn't return all my money. He may be a good shooter, but the institution is slippery . yes, and I lost $37.25 on cancellation!!! * unfortunately I can't comment on the statement from this organization below, but from the message below it is clear that the person does not take responsibility for what happened. and this is a fake apology! It will be on his conscience. again confirmation, I am glad that I cancelled and did not deal with a dishonest organization.

Needing to get certified to obtain a CCW permit, I found Sentri Institute on the Orange County Sheriff's Department's certified CCW trainers page and simply chose this company due its close proximity. As a former primary marksmanship instructor for the United States Marine Corps and a California POST-certified rangemaster, I was a bit apprehensive about training with Sentri Institute, especially after my neighbor told me about his experience with another school/instructor (NOT Sentri Institute), who was very dogmatic with firearms/accessories selection and wouldn't let his students qualify with pistol-mounted optics (PMOs), citing that shooters have a tendency to become overly reliant on their PMOs (using that argument, does that mean shooters without PMOs shouldn't be reliant on their iron sights?). The only things that should be dogmatically preached are the four firearms safety rules and the fundamentals of marksmanship; everything else (equipment and tactics) is just opinion and should be left to the student to decide on what to use. Call it a lucky pick: I found the owner and president of Sentri Institute, Paul Peng, to be very friendly and helpful over the phone when I signed up for a class, which was a great start. On the day of the class a few weeks later, Paul was very informative regarding laws of defense as well as defensive shooting, which consisted of the five-count draw, tactical and speed reloads, one-handed shooting (both strong and support hands), flashlight deployment, and retention shooting (techniques often taught at larger shooting schools like Thunder Ranch and International Tactical Training Seminars). Paul was humble, very articulate when giving instruction and encouraged dialogue from the class. My only complaint is the compressed time schedule, but that just means Paul tries to load his students up with as much knowledge as he can within the one day of instruction. The techniques mentioned earlier were taught more for familiarization than for proficiency, which is why it is important to practice what you learn in class on your own, especially since shooting is a perishable skill. Also, keep in mind that the class I am reviewing is the CCW class, which is NOT a beginner's class. Students should have a grasp on basic marksmanship, handgun manipulation techniques, and proper mindset before attending this class. I would definitely recommend Sentri Institute for CCW certifications and even further firearms instruction.

Big shout out to ownership and everyone involved in Krav Maga OC for their guidance, support, and inspiration! I've been into self defense since I can remember. This little Jewish lady was not raised to be a victim! Anyhow, i have been practicing defending with knives at home, spend quite a bit of time shooting at the range, etc... but having the tools and skills stated above would be more beneficial with some Krav Maga training... being attacked on the street is a completely different experience when you're dealing with an attacker in real life than in a controlled environment. I want to be prepared just in case G-D forbid I have to implement these techniques in real life. I truly look forward to learning more and refining my skills. He has challenges with focus and self-control at times which is precisely why we wanted to enroll him in the Krav Classes. He started in the Lil Dragons program, and after about 4 months he was promoted to the Juniors program because he was doing so well. HERE is where it gets sad...he was told we would "trial" the Juniors class to see how he would do. After 6 weeks, he having difficulty with focus and self-control in the larger setting, but was making improvements over the last few sessions based on staff report and my observation. This past Tuesday, he wasn't paying attention and accidentally punched another kid in the face with his glove on (not hard but I'm sure it still hurt...he apologized to the child and resumed the class). I recommended that we put him back in the smaller class considering that my son was thriving in Lil Dragons, and he was consistently practicing safe partner work in Lil Dragons so there is no reason he would not thrive there again. Trying out lil Dragons to see how he does again posed no risk to anyone's safety. He just has ongoing challenges with focus and self-control which impacted his performance overall in the larger class. My son in a smaller class size would have more adult support and less distractions which would ultimately help him focus. This issue with the partner work the other day was not aggression, it was a lack of focus that resulted in a punch to someone's face (focus is precisely what a smaller class would support and DID support as of 6 weeks ago). 360 Krav's response was that he wouldn't be appropriate for the Lil Dragons class either (even though he was doing so well there 6 weeks ago that he was promoted!)...effectively expelling him from the program altogether. How 360 Krav has handled this is totally unacceptable. You promoted him to "try" out a new class...it was not a good fit, and now you are not letting him go back to the class that he was successful in. This is a disgraceful way to teach...you are literally punishing a child for being brave enough to try something new and then failing at it.

One thing I wanted to do when I moved was to sign up for a class with my partner, and I wanted it to be something active. I used to do daily walks around my old suburban hilly neighborhood during my lunch hour, but realized the area where I am in Long Beach is not only completely flat, but also not exactly the safest. My partner was previously involved with 360 before they moved to the current location, and he signed us up for an intro to learn about the classes that were offered. As with most things new to me, I was a little hesitant, but somehow walked out of that first meeting signing up for a membership and the 6 week program. I went home with a little bit of regret, though embraced the decision because I am always open for something new and challenging, and I felt good about not being pressured into any commitment. When I thought about starting, I was afraid that when I came in, I would be completely lost, or that it would be uninteresting or intimidating. Much to my surprise, it was not intimidating at all, and I walked out of the first class already looking forward to the combinations I would learn in the 2nd class. I've now completed about 18 classes after my 6 week challenge. My partner exceeded his goal and lost 15lbs and I am super close to hitting my goal of 15lbs, considering I had 2 business trips and 1 leisure trip in the last 3 weeks. I've learned to be more conscious about eating; reading more labels and measuring intake, which has really helped to curb my emotional wfh snacking when I'm bored. Additionally, I really appreciate the Mom and Pop aspect of this academy - Candace and Alan are not only both super approachable, but are also really encouraging and motivational individuals. They are very helpful in correcting form, process, and confidence and I'm thankful to have made the decision to join 360, not only for the fitness aspect, but also the practicality of the education learned from the classes!
