This is an update on work that was recently done on a recent home purchase. The home we purchased was tented prior to occupancy and subsequently a part of the facia had dislodged posing a significant hazard since had it fallen it would easily kill if it landed on your head. Joanna is the main person I talk to and frankly, she was not nice and sometime come off as rude. She talk like she doesnt need any customer because they're way overbook. Base on the positive mention of Joanna, I expected better customer service. Fumigation job was ok, they broke 12 tiles of my Mediterranean orange roof tile and kill all the plants that were 6 feet bordering the house..... but that was to be expected based on the written contract. The guys that did wood replacement were very friendly but do a job I would call not very pleasing to look at. I may be the minority that have a negative experience with them. read more

Needed to get a termite inspection as part of a home refinance, so called a few places and decided to go with Sentry Termite and Pest Control based on their great Yelp reviews and the price of the inspection, which was $50 less than a few other places I called. I was on a tight timeline to get the inspection and Sentry was able to have a technician come over to conduct the inspection within 24 hours of the time I called. The inspector arrived in time and was very friendly. The total inspection lasted about 30 minutes and as promised, they had the report in my e-mail inbox by the end of the day. One minor fix is needed, so I will have somebody come out fix it and get the final report for my mortgage company. Overall, I am very satisfied with this company! read more

We called to have someone come assess a bug infestation in our home. They sent out a gentleman who told us it wasn't termites, told us he wasn't sure what they were but would take a sample specimen back to have it evaluated to see what type of bug it is. He said they would call us the next day. A couple days go by, the bugs haven't gone away, they didn't call so we call them. No one answered so we left a voicemail. Best Pest Control Company Ever After returning from summer vacation, we discovered a bed bug infestation in two of our three bedrooms. Unfortunately, it was Friday night, Labor Day weekend. I called about six different companies who were open according to their websites, yet only one called me back. Frustrated, I emailed Sentry at about 8 pm explaining the situation, within 10 minutes Rudy called me. He said the owner/boss had forwarded my email to him. Not only were they checking emails on a Friday night, but were also responding to them. But, it gets better. Rudy came to our house on Labor Day, for no extra charge, to inspect and spray for bed bugs. Impressive from start to finish ... from our original quote with John which was thorough with absolutely zero sales pitch or pressure (stuff we thought was termite damage wasn't, and stuff we didn't know was) ... John was professional and just knew his business. We finally called and scheduled almost a year later (nothing to do with them), and they honored the price they had quoted us, and booked us within a couple of weeks - all working within our schedule. Their crew was WONDERFUL - very respectful of our home, talked to us about plants we would temporarily lose because of the tenting and even explained how to bring them back. Update: We were not treated with respect by Rick, and there is literally no excuse for that. He cut off my husband of mid sentence and was dismissive when we tried to Explain our side. (John who wrote the rebuttal was NOT there). Rick DID say there was a "miscommunication", but since he was the professional and we were new at this experience, tha fault lies with him. Our realtor said that this was the most expensive job she had ever seen (and it wasn't THAT big of a job). They said it was because of the high cost of lumber, but they really didn't replace much, like 10 pieces of wood and a couple of facia boards. not a $10,000 job. Seriously, if I knew they were going to do so little, for so much money, I would have hired my brother in law. He could have done what their 'professionals' did. The people working were great, we have zero complaints about them. Our entire issue was with Rick and the higher ups that don't seem to care if they have satisfied customers. They did a very expensive job for us, and left our home unfinished. We were told by Rick that "All you'll have to do is paint!", after they were done with an almost $10,000 job. When they finished we were told we STILL had to hire a roofer. He blamed us, because HE didn't know what our plans were after their work was done, but HE NEVER ASKED! As the professional, he should have been honest with us on what to expect. We would have handled everything differently if he was forthcoming. But since this was our first experience with any kind of pest control, (and Rick had vast experience), we didn't know what to expect. Rick was dismissive when we tried to fix this situation. Even after he admitted there was a miscommunication, he did nothing to help us. The only fix he offered was to charge us an ADDITIONAL $1,300 more and we would STILL need a roofer!!! I would definitely think twice before using them for ANY services. Even after tenting we still had ants and spiders the next day. read more

I wish I could be among the many folks who've left positive reviews for this company, but we unfortunately could not be more disappointed by our service from Sentry. When we saw several lines of ants right outside our property, we decided to proactively address the problem before the weather got too hot and drove the ants inside our home. We called Sentry to come out and resolve our ant issue, and they seemed to. They reminded us that we could have them come back within their 30 day guarantee/warranty period to spray once more since we had more ant colonies on our property than normal. When we called to schedule them to come back out within the guarantee/warranty period, they told us that another technician wouldn't be out in our area until the 30th day. We figured that should be fine and scheduled them for 7/22. Well, turns out the ant problem wasn't resolved and during the high heat this week, the ants made their way into our kitchen from several entry points. We called Sentry right away to ask that a technician come out as soon as possible since it was an emergency, and they just told us the same thing - that a technician wasn't going to be out in our area until 7/22 even though their website specifically says about their 30-day guarantee/warranty "What we CAN PROMISE you are free services if a problem arises. Just call us anytime and we'll be out by the *next business day*." How were we supposed to wait until 7/22 to resolve an indoor ant problem that we had originally called Sentry to prevent? We ended up calling a different pest control company to come out - and paying twice - to take care of the issue. I'd avoid this company if I were you, as they seem to be OK with causing problems for their clients and then expecting us to wait for them to conveniently be in the area before they could be bothered to fix them. read more

They got rid of those nasty bed bugs and did two additional inspections afterwards. (Of course because it costs more money) but still, nice security in knowing they're gone. Sean, who did the treatment, was great. Friendly and good at his job :) However, in my experience the people at the office seemed disorganized and impatient over the phone. For example, Sean told me the office would call me for a follow up visit. I waited over a week, never heard a thing, so then I called myself and set up a follow up appointment. (Not the end of the world but still very confused by that) Another example, when Sean does the follow up visit he says the same thing. So I wait for the call. I wasn't worried about having them come right away because I was 99% positive the bugs were gone now... instead of calling me to schedule the appointment Sean calls 2 weeks later to say he's on his way. Which means the office told Sean they made this imaginary appointment with me, which they never did. Annoying for me and for him because I wasn't available during that time. Last, but definitely not least, I make the second follow up appointment for 9am because I work at 11am. The office messes that up and schedule me for 11am. All in all, Sean was great. The chemicals they use to get rid of the bed bugs are great. However, the price is very high. The ladies at the Sentry office don't seem to know what they're doing, short with you, and disorganized. read more

Sentry provided me a termite estimate the same day they came out and worked with my schedule to do the work very quickly. I had used Gold Coast in the past and was very dissatisfied with their customer service (girl on phone)and workmanship they broke my outdoor bbq counter- said they would give me a credit and never did. A year and a half later I found termites on the same pergola they treated, the girl was quick to tell me that they only had a year warranty and I would have to pay. I had them come out hesitantly to give a bid and it took Gold Coast a week to get back to me with a quote and the guy didn't even note all the spots sentry did.
