If you like true Italian this is the place for you. I'm a picky Italian that loves to cook and good at it and I like Senzas food. So far I've been there 3 times and everytime it was very good. Had the chicken parmigiana which is great , baked clams oreganata excellent . Burrata a must have, so creamy. Veal which are tender, and I went there another 2 times for there sicilian pie and grandma pie also great. Tried about almost a dozen places in the area and by far this was the best. Tip.... call before you go, I would suggest definitely making a reservation if your going on the weekend. read more

My family and I ate dinner here for the first time a few days ago while visiting my grandmother in the area. Over the years, we have been to many local places to eat with her, and this is by far the best food in the area. I didn't expect to eat at such a nice italian place, considering it is located in a strip mall. But don't be fooled. The decor and atmosphere inside is very inviting and the place was decently packed. They had delicious bread served with olive oil for dipping, as well as a rustic pizza bread that is also complimentary. This part of the meal alone was amazing, and we were all eager to get the appetizers at this point. Soon after, they brought out the calamari and the burrata. I would like to note that the burrata is a must-have at this place. They serve it with grilled peach slices wrapped in decadent prosciutto over a bed of mesclun greens and a heavenly balsamic reduction. We were satisfied with the appetizers to say the least! Senza offers a complimentary salad that comes with each entree. It was a small salad, but refreshing. Following that, we received out entrees. The portions were very big, most of which we had to take home after eating so much delicious food prior. I ordered the pasta Amatriciana, which had a rich smokey flavor. I very much enjoyed it. My family ordered the Gnocchi dish, a personal Ortolana pizza, the Linguine with Clams in a red sauce, and the chicken francese. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal as well! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great italian spot that has tasty, affordable food. Did I mention it's a BYOB? My son has recently moved into the bayville area and it was Mother's Day weekend ..so looking at reviews on yelp I came across this restaurant and I booked a reservation for five for Sat night. They took my name and phone number and I was set. I arrive 15 minutes earlier to the restaurant,and they inform me that they didn't have my reservation! This was my worst nightmare come true 1. It was my mother's day weekend dinner and 2. I was meeting my son's Girlfriend's mother for the first time, and she was celebrating Mother's Day too!! The man at the front desk holding a clipboard ran around like an idiot telling us in a very nervous voice that he couldn't help us! What a joke.. So I asked to speak to the owner.. the owner took a look at us and turned his back and never even faced us... these people were cowards ... because they knew they had made the mistake.. I have been in the customer service business for 25 years and I have never seen this before... you don't come out to apologize..and say I am so sorry .. I can't fit you in today..but maybe you can come back on us.. or at least a coupon...really...I don't even care about the coupon ... an acknowledgement a genuine apology would have made us feel better... but to be treated like we were garbage!! These people and the owners are clearly uneducated baboons that don't know any better.. Please than just stay in the kitchen, make your ravioli's, cause clearly this is all you can do...and have qualified individuals handle your customers.. They may have good food but they certainly lack in class, grace and education.. read more

Nice, cozy, BYOB Italian joint. Have had some really great meals here but a couple times it's just missed the mark. Not sure if it was a different chef or not but left disappointed once or twice. That said, the majority of the time we've gone has been great with no complaints. Service is sometimes a bit slow but never minded since it's such a lowkey, relaxing ambiance. Wow! An Italian restaurant serving great food in this nondescript stripmall!? And it's in the boondocks - almost. Little old Bayville, gateway to the pine barrens. Hey, if you want to make a Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel there's no need to go all the way to Texas to shoot; Bayville can be the location and will look just as authentic. Had the classic Linguine Carbonara, except it was served with a "linguine" that had a square cross section instead of flat. I'm not sure what that pasta is called in Italian, but it was great in this dish served al dente. The Carbonara was a lush cream sauce studded with pancetta... just what the doctor and Weight Watchers recommend. Also had the Risotto Rice Balls appetizer, which were little fried balls of salty deliciousness. Perfect accompaniment to a bottle of Sangiovese (you know, to counter act the cholesterol) that I had purchase at the liquor store in the same strip mall. Very convenient. You can order your food and then decide what type of wine to buy (almost) next door. read more

Ordered food for delivery so this is only for delivery, can't speak to the actual restaurant and dining experience. We ordered the senza salad, margarita pizza and chicken parm panini. It took over an hour to be delivered which was annoying especially because it wasn't a peak time, but the food was hot, fresh, and pretty good. I would definitely order all three of these things again, maybe just not delivery. Chicken cutlets on the panini were thin cut pieces, crispy breaking, and good bread. Sauce was a little lacking on the sandwich but it wasn't dry. Side of pasta salad I didn't enjoy so much. The senza salad was really good. Cheese was a little hard like they had it already cut sitting in a fridge, but it was ok. The margarita pizza was what you would expect and tasted good. Overall, a good spot in this area for Italian food compared to other places around here that are just gross. read more

I love this BYOB Italian restaurant! Everything We have had on the menu has been fabulous and authentic to our previous trips to Italy. The chef makes everything fresh and the quantities are very big size. The service is very good, attentive and personable. You can see that they have a lot of regulars that come back here. The atmosphere is ok and the only thing that make me give it 4 stars vs 5. There are about 10-12 tables with not a lot of room to maneuver with my daughter on crutches. I've lived in Ocean County for 15 years. My family is Northern Italian. After trying many different Italian restaurants in the area, this is the only place I go to if I do not want to cook ( Italian) myself. I love the food here. It may not have fancy ambiance, or waiters in tuxedos, but that is not what I need when I want authentic , delicious food. Just try to get in without a reservation during the summer and that will tell you how good it is. The service can be slow, hence the 4 stars. But the food is 5 stars all the way. read more

Friendly staff. Very good, authentic Italian food. Very long wait for the food though, and the noise from a very drunk bunch in one of the big tables at the time we were there made the wait even seem more insufferable. Perhaps, if the people at the other table did not have so much of a wait, they would have not had the chance to get so inebriated before their own food came through. Absolutely LOVE Senza. Hard for me to pick my favorites but my favorite appetizer is the Gamberetti Saporiti Al Crostone (shrimp with an awesome sauce and great bread to dunk). The penne with vodka is excellent as is the orichette with broccoli rabe and sausage. All their seafood dishes are great as well. BEST news -- they DELIVER. There's a real dearth of decent food around here and to have one of the best places also deliver is awesome. If you DO go for a delivery -- make sure you check their Facebook page for specials (which are updated every Friday afternoon.) read more

**Make sure you call ahead - most nights they are reservation only - and they don't take reservations between 6-7pm on Fri and Sat. Saw the reviews online and got excited to try it, especially when we were turned away at 5pm on a sat due to no reservations. We figured any hole-in-the-wall place that only accepts reservations must be awesome! Not sure our experience matched that. Service: D+ - our server either didn't care or was very inexperienced and not being shadowed by someone with more experience. No bread, no refills, took his time to get to our table even though we were one of only two tables at that time. All the wait staff looked sloppy, baggy jeans, faded shirts - they all appeared to belong behind the pizza counter, not providing table service. Hostess: D+ Had the unpleasant experience of listening to the hostess on the phone - not friendly, inviting, or warm. Atmosphere: B- - it's cute, nice table clothes, trying to be fancy and upscale, only 8 tables in the entire place...but then they brought the pizza crowd in and let them sit next to the diners with their screaming children hopping all over the place walking around with pizza slices... Food: B - The salads are pre-made, packaged in single serving containers, and kept in the fridge. I had to pick several pieces out that were slimy. Both our dinners were excellent, and the price was decent. Bread (if you get it) comes warm with choice of butter or oil. Menu selection was ok, don't expect any choice other than Italian if you have picky eaters. Overall: C+/B- - We wouldn't go out of our way to go back. It's no Shady Rest with Steak Alexis. This was the place in Bayville but somehow lately something is definitely not right there. They have stopped delivery, doing only certain pizzas and staff seems as if they do not know what is really going on. The Spaghetti Carbonara is definitely flavorful & delicious. Consistency is on point, Just like the high quality ingredients they use. For the price you are getting real high tier food for the average price. This is my 2nd time ordering from them & delivery. There pizza is good too. Salad is an effortless mess but everything else I have ordered & tried so far is hyping me up for more actual authentic Italian dishes. They'res Cannolis are good to & garlic knots are alright. This place is a gem, and definitely one of the best Italian places in the State. But the most important thing is the main courses & they're well executed coming from, Senza. One of my new favorite go to places for Italian. I will be coming in real soon to try other dishes and the dinning experience to give a complete analysis of the place. Great food, and this review should be five stars, I've eaten here several times and had a couple of friends eat here and the experience seems to be consistent. The servers are warm and personable, the chef makes a point of visiting the tables, but the hostess, who may be a principal, is annoying and abrasive. Reservations are recommended, just so you don't hear the hostess's exasperated sigh as she tells you she only has a crappy table left. Food is very good, and if she hadn't been so theatrical about the table location I probably wouldn't have considered it a bad spot. I will continue to eat here, but will make sure to have reservations. We had been using them for take-out food as well but the delivery takes too long and the food is always cold. read more

This is the best Pizza in the Bayville area. The buffalo chicken pizza with bleu cheese is some of the best pizza I've ever had and they were generous with the amount of chicken spread on the pie. If you're in town definitely try Senza, you won't be disappointed. read more
