Seafood soft tofu stew and spicy pork bowl
    Liz B.

A new gem selling authentic Korean takeout that feels like a home-cooked and healthy meal! I tried the seafood tofu soup, which came with a generous amount of seafood, including shrimp, mussels, and crab. The broth was flavorful and had a rich seafood flavor, and it wasn't overly salty like other tofu soup restaurants. It was also incredibly affordable compared to other spots, especially considering that it had so much seafood. The spicy pork bowl was also tasty, and I loved the addition of salad to make it a more refreshing and light meal. Next time I'd love to try the kimbap! I came near closing but the staff was very friendly and welcomed me in. The interior has a few tables and counters where the food is displayed. They are still in the grand opening phase, so I'd imagine things are still constantly evolving. I would definitely recommend supporting this business.

So I debated on rating this spot or not... it's not really a restaurant but more of a to-go prepared food pick-up spot. There isn't any place to eat inside unless they let you eat at the counter (which I have no idea) Super clean and nice inside. The staff was amazingly kind, but being the only person in there they didn't really explain the concept or what they had to you. I'm not sure if the food was excellent, average or poor because I just took a try at a box of food. Some of it tastes good, other parts not so good but it may because of my preference and not because of their preparation. If you know this style of food you may love it, but I would have no idea how it compares. Just wanted to give an honest review. We really like the vegetable preparation and sauce. Other than that! You are on your own for picking. My suggestion to the staff would be to have a conversation with someone and try to point them towards something that seems like a match. I guess in the end this is as much a negative review of my own ability to rate this food. Give it a try... you may absolutely love it!

Japchae with beef was so good! Noodles were perfect and bouncy!

Great new spot to grab some healthy and delicious Korean dishes to go! Arrived an hour before closing and most items were already sold out -- a good sign! Loved the japchae and gimbap. You can taste the quality of meats and vegetables. They also sell Korean drinks, side dishes and desserts. Will definitely come back when in the area and grab some before heading to the beach. So convenient!

    Soybean soup and burdock kimbap

Seoul Eatery is a quick food spot with authentic korean banchan, soups, and kimbap. I got a few items to share with my husband at home and everything tasted fresh and delicious! I loved the burdock kimbap. The soybean soup had ample beef brisket and lots of veggies! The interior is clean and modern and all of the items are well organized. I regret not buying more items while I was there.

It's fast-casual, but everything was clean, the food came out quickly, and everyone was incredibly welcoming. We tried the bulgogi bowl, soft tofu soup, the muscat grape lemonade, and the pomegranate lemonade. The grape lemonade was such a fun surprise--it uses Asian muscat grape instead of the artificial "American grape" flavor we're used to. It's a rare flavor to find and was honestly so refreshing. Both lemonades came out beautifully presented with fresh fruit, which was a really nice touch. The soft tofu soup was excellent. The broth had a rich, silky mouthfeel and tasted homemade rather than like it was made from one of the premade soup bases. It was deeply flavorful without being overwhelming. Everything was served piping hot, exactly as these dishes should be. The bulgogi bowl was also delicious and came with a very generous portion of beef. Serving sizes overall were huge--both of us ate until we were full and still had enough leftovers to take home. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. If you've been wanting to try Korean food but weren't sure where to start, I think this is a fantastic introduction. Authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly people, and a great value. We'll definitely be back.

I love their Kalbi set which is plenty of food for my husband and me to share. We have tried the combo set with unmarinated brisket + Kalbi and thought the Kalbi was perfectly tender and tastefully seasoned, but the brisket was a bit tough and chewy. The second time, we ordered the combo set with Kalbi + bulgogi and we loved it so much that we went back a third time and ordered the same thing and loved it the third time as well. The bulgogi was tender and flavorful and went well with the lettuce and tasty ssamjang (thick chili/bean paste dipping sauce). The soft tofu it comes with was also a welcome part of the meal and all of the banchan side dishes were also excellent. Some Korean restaurants serve banchan dishes that are all cloyingly sweet, but at Nasung, all of the banchans are fresh, well balanced, savory, and pair perfectly with everything else. This BBQ set really is a great value and feels like a symphony of flavors that come together perfectly into one well orchestrated meal for two. We haven't tried the other dishes, though I want to try... but that combo Kalbi set keeps calling to me and I can never resist.

They're happy to swap out a single side the moment it runs out, it's unlike any Korean Tofu shop I've ever experienced. The sides are good too, especially the japchae glass noodles. I had the Ham and Cheese. What a strange soup combo, but it worked. You might be asking, ham and cheese, isn't it salty? YES! But it's #3 for a reason. It's the saltiest cheese ever with the saltiest meat, but it's sooo good with the rice. The Galbi was also amazing. Each piece of beef was bursting in flavor and had the perfect fat to lean ratio. The flavor also stands on its own. I had an amazing experience here and it was affordable. If you're in the area and in the mood for Korean Tofu, Kaju on Culver is the place!

However, one thing that was disappointing was how the banchan was served. There were three of us dining together, but we were only given one set of banchan to share instead of three individual sets. Since the portions are small, we finished them quickly and politely asked for a refill. Unfortunately, the waitress (I believe her name was Julie) seemed visibly annoyed by our request. She made facial expressions that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her, and she did so right in front of us. It made the dining experience uncomfortable and took away from what was otherwise a good meal. The restaurant was only about 30% full at the time, so it wasn't a particularly busy period, which made the interaction even more surprising. The food isn't inexpensive, so I expected better customer service. Good food is important, but so is making customers feel welcome. Because of the service we received, I can only give this restaurant 3 stars. I hope they can improve the customer service experience, as the food itself is worth coming back for.
