Later, she seemed to realize that her behavior had affected us. She brought us a noodle dish "on the house" and briefly said sorry. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not undo the way we were treated in front of the entire restaurant. My question is: if you knew your behavior required an apology afterward, why treat customers that way in the first place? Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they are dining with a larger group or placing a larger order. They had whole pieces of shrimp inside rather than chopped shrimp, and some of the wontons didn't have shrimp at all. There was also some seaweed and tiny dried shrimp in the broth, which gave the soup a very strong seafood umami flavor. Personally, I prefer Cantonese-style wonton soup, but that's just my preference. This is clearly a different regional style of Chinese cooking, so I wouldn't really compare the two as being the same thing. The soup was filling, though, and it was interesting to try something I hadn't had before. I'm planning to come back and try the beef soup next.
