The server in training was more enthusiastic than the actual trainer, and despite us being first-timers, explanations were minimal and confusing. We didn't fully grasp the difference between the BBQ grill and hot pot, and little guidance was offered. The food was average--though with unlimited portions, it became more quantity than quality. The self-serve bar wasn't explained, so we skipped many options. The booth seating also made it awkward to move around and get items. Service was hands-off; they didn't check on drinks or progress. Finally, the preset tip options started high, which felt off given the overall experience. In short, if they refine their service and guidance, it could improve--but as of now, we felt a bit lost. read more

We've always had an excellent service here EXCEPT tonight. They missed the mark. I was charged an extra adult (paid for 6 adults when there were only 5 adults). This is technically theft. I sent a feedback when we got home because that's when i noticed the receipt and hoped that they will redeem themselves. Welp, all they texted me is "we are sorry for the misunderstanding, we will do better next time". This is not a misunderstsnding at all. No refund whatsoever was offered. I loved this place but I got robbed $30. I tipped our waiter very well too and spent over $300 but that did not matter. There will absolutley be NO next time for me and my whole family! I would not come back. The meat has to be ordered with the waiter and in the hour we were there he only came back once. The vegetables and other sides are buffet style which makes one uneasy as to cleanliness and food safety. There are only four meat options for the hotpot. Everything just wasn't very high quality from the meat to the vegetables and sides to the broth itself. I got the Tom Yum base and there was a lemon slice instead of lime in the pot. In addition, the amount of broth they give you is very minimal. The sauce bar is also quite limited compared to most other hotpot places. Really not worth your money. read more

We went during their soft opening but it was a great experience. You get either Korean BBQ or hot pot for $29 or you can get both for $34. It's all you can eat - think Brazilian steakhouse format. We tried both, but for me the Korean BBQ is where it's at. If you want hot pot if recommend just going to ramen place. The BBQ was amazing with great choices and flavors. Even the appetizer bar had bulgogi, gyoza, and many order items. You can eat as much as you want and as many different meats as you want. You will not leave hungry. The staff was super friendly and attentive even being short staffed during the soft launch. They have a robot which will bring food to your table, but it was hard for it to keep up so a lot of times, a human delivered out food. I absolutely recommend this place. For not it's dinner only and no bar, but the bar is in the works. A++. read more

For our first experience with hot pot, overall it was a success! It took some getting used to and I'm glad we could switch out broths because the first one I got was HOT!! Like 'I won't feel my mouth for a month' hot. But once we switched to Tom Yum base and pork bone broth, it was a lot more manageable! Our server was awesome, so kind and on top of it! My friends and I came to Waco for the weekend on a girls trip and we decided to eat at Seoul Korean BBQ and HotPot. The interior is extremely well put together but unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. The KBBQ option had more options than the hotpot. We asked our server some questions because the menu was really confusing and it wasn't clear but she came across as rude and seemed upset with us which didn't help the situation. The portions of the food were surprisingly small and the quality of the food was definitely not there. Some of the meat was okay or mediocre at best. The other meat tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer for a long time and got freezer burn which we could taste. The seafood pancakes that we ordered were extremely undercooked as well. The rice was cold and kind of dry. As someone who is asian, this came across really disappointing. We all came in and were hoping to have an enjoyable experience but we left hungry. For the price that we paid per person, we were expecting something enjoyable. Overall, the ambience inside was really nice however the food and service of this establishment needs a lot of improvement. read more

I visited this place during my travels, excited to find a Korean restaurant, but it was a massive disappointment. This is a poor imitation of Korean cuisine. As a Shabu-shabu place, the broth was a disaster. Instead of the standard vegetable or beef base, the broth provided was basically a low-quality Kimchi Jjigae liquid that didn't work as a Shabu-shabu base at all. The chicken broth tasted like a cheap Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) packet and was incredibly salty. To make matters worse, the meat was mostly fat and discolored, looking like it had been in the freezer for a very long time. It was clearly not fresh. If you are going to market yourself as a Korean restaurant, please actually study the cuisine and its standards. The staff couldn't understand Korean, and communication in English was very difficult as well. I left feeling frustrated and regretful. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for authentic Korean flavors. read more

We are a couple in our early to mid 50s and knew nothing about Korean BBQ. It was a very good experience. My wife loved it. Honestly...it's not really my thing, but I'd go back if I was with someone who wanted an "experience". The food was very good and the staff was helpful. The only reason I can't write a better review is because of my own shortcomings, not the restaurant. It's a casual place with no need for anyone to be as anxious as I probably would. I had a poor experience with the service. I believe the waiters were inexperienced and because of that kind of rude. We were sat all in a row with other restaurant patrons because of section seating, so we heard and saw everything. The table next to us left early on into our meal, and no one cleaned the table. We had to look at stacked up dirty plates while we ate. The older man sitting on the other side of us was explaining to one waiter that he knew that this was his first time, and he was excited for the experience. No one actually took the time to explain to him how everything worked in detail nor did they appropriately answer his questions. It was just no we can't do that without explaining why. After he left, the waiter then complained about a $5 tip on the meal where we could hear the complaint. Like dude, you were not helpful, and you did not serve him but one round of meats and water. There was no awareness to who he was speaking to customers, and he also forgot immediately what we had chosen for our meals right after we told him. Also... second time I have been and they have not had the appetizer fries refilled. Very small thing, but like it's the easiest thing to do. It also makes me concerned about how often they tend to the appetizer bar if that never got replaced. Would rather drive to another city than return to this hot pot place. That was a long review, but there needs to be better training and oversight of staff. Just because it is slow does not mean standards should drop. read more

Food was good, waiter was good. But we will not be back now or anytime soon. Came in a little later tonight, around 10:15, sat down and started ordering. Served came around and gave a last call for the kitchen, put in our last order for meat only to be kicked out with raw meat in to go boxes.
