As a woman of color, I appreciate being able to walk into their store and find my shade of lipstick, concealer or foundation very quickly. They have all of the big brands and smaller brands too so you will have a lot to choose from. Overall Customer Service: 1 Their customer service agents are just sales people with no customer service skills. I asked for liquid eye liner. The customer service agent shows me the new Selena Gomez eye liner that's $20 a tube. Okay, so we are going expensive for a brand I hadn't tried before but sure I will try it. He starts describing the eye liner, and he says it's satin yadda yadda. It was actually matte not satin at all, which lead me to believe he didn't know what he was talking about. I also felt like he only referred me to that brand because it was $20 and new, or maybe he liked Selena Gomez, I can't be too sure. All I know is he knew nothing about the actual product and after describing it incorrectly he barely changed course. So I had two other items and when I went to the checkout he announced that he could not ring up JCPenney items. Wait what, this is a Sephora / JCPenney store so you should be able to ring me up the way other customer service people have when I have shopped here. I didn't actually say anything, but okay. He started talking about how he couldn't change the prices if it was ever wrong, or accept the coupons. I didn't make a fuss at all because it would've been a waste of my time but I did know he was outright lying. Sephora associates ring up JCPenney customers all the time and they can also scan coupons. He just didn't want the hassle of a price check, but he hadn't encountered any problems because he didn't actually attempt to ring it up. He just decided that he didn't want to be bothered with it. As a result, we had to stand in two lines to check out for three items. So right when he's done ringing up my eye liner he says,"How are you going to pay for this?" So keep in mind, I didn't give any push back when he refused to ring up my other two items, I didn't say a word but okay. So he pauses because he technically has to try to sell me a JCPenney's credit card. I smile and say,"My debit card". I have a JCPenney's card he doesn't know that because I'm not using it. I smile because how are you going to try to sell me a JCPenney's card after refusing to ring up my two items? Lol Once again, I didn't say anything. I just smiled because it was pretty obvious that it would be super awkward to ask someone to sign up for a store credit card after you denied to check them out for items from that store. Honestly, it was a polite and quiet encounter. I resigned to the fate that I didn't want to bother with trying to push him into checking out all of my items, but I wasn't going to sit through a sales pitch after he made his decision either. I am a JCPenney platinum customer. I've shopped at that store for a long time and will continue to do so, but I was incredibly unimpressed with my time at Sephora.

Azuka gave her an appointment and about 5 minutes later Azuka called and said she had to cancel her appointment that she gave her because (and I quote) "my energy with her was not going to work". So let me start by saying that my soon to be mom is one of the kindest people I know and I have never seen her get angry or not show grace to anyone. With that being said she is amid about supporting BLACK BUSINESSES. Facts: 9.5% businesses in the United States are black owned. Eight out of 10 of them fail within the first 18 months. I went and reviewed this particular business website to find that this place has been in business for almost 20 years! Also , to say the least their mission statement mentions "well-recognized in the community for professional, high quality beauty services and cosmetic products". Keyword : Professionalism I highlight professionalism above because black businesses lack it as this particular one did. We need more black businesses and entrepreneurs so that we as black people can become and stay wealth builders for generations! As a business owner please think about your own biases and how they would reflect to your customers that are supporting you. Consider how you can do better because without our support your business cannot be successful without it.
