I would like to just take a moment to thank this location in general for always being incredibly helpful and always willing to make a girl who knows very little about makeup good! Overall, all my experiences here with the employees have been warm and an experience that leaves me smiling and excited to try a new product that was purchased! I would like to especially thank one certain one named Jordan. I came in inquiring about the new Fenty beauty foundation and had a million questions because I've been using Tarte for the last 8 years or so. So switching to a new one was a risky but I had heard great things. Not only did Jordan explain what Rihanna's new line was about but also had the patience to answer my questions like "What is oxidizing mean?" If you hate your job, go find something else. Workers will rudely get in front of you while you're looking at the products. They look at you and don't even smile. Today I went in to buy the Anastasia contour kit and asked if someone would teach me how to apply it. The sweet lady put my name on the waiting lost and told me it would be a few minutes. A few minutes later I was helped by a girl with 2 piercings next to her right eye. She was soooo nice! I was just VERY uncomfortable because other co workers or management kept rushing her. She kept begging them to please give her 3 more minutes to help me which I SO appreciated, but I could tell she was under pressure to stop helping me because she told me SHE WAS BEING TIMED!! All she was able to teach me was to contour my cheek bones and then I had to ask her to teach me how to do my nose (because I have a weird nose). Then another worker came over and told her that she was needed elsewhere. I asked her to please finish teaching me to do my chin and forehead. I had soo many other questions about brushes to buy with it but I felt like such a bother in there. Don't get me wrong, she was so sweet! But I really was really unhappy with everyone rushing her because I waited to be helped by her. I later was asked by Alice if I needed help cause she noticed I was lost. She offered to put me on the waiting list but I told her that I was already on the waiting list but the girl who was helping me was being rushed so I gave her up. I told her that I was just about to go to a different location so that I would be taken care of but she apologized and was soooo kind to help me! She answered all my questions and helped find everything I needed to complete my contour kit. Thank you soo much alice! And thank you soo much girl who helped me first. Sephora, please do not rush ur workers while they are helping guests. I may come back just for Alice but if you keep putting too much pressure on ur workers while they are trying to do a good job helping guests then I will sadly not come back to this location. I use to love shopping for make up but after today I think buying a car might be easier than shopping at this location. I'm only giving 2 stars for the 2 ladies who helped me. This is my go to Sephora store. Of course the prices are high because the store carries higher end cosmetics. There are always people ready to help you with anything you need. I had really great service today . I had to return an item that was not working properly. I don't have a receipt, so I was just doing a quick exchange . The woman working was super kind (sorry ,I didn't catch her name)she kindly let me know that the single item I was exchanging was currently available in a set , with 3 other items . Terrible terrible service. Standing in line now at the store and the line is wrapped around the inside of the store. I'm literally waiting in a 30+ minute line to buy one item. This woman and her daughter decide they were going to cut the line right in front of everyone and store employees allowed it. A woman even walked up and said "these women are cutting" and the store still let them go ahead and let them go ahead of the 40 people waiting in line. Unreal. read more

I been feeling like wearing red lipstick lately and ladies when wearing red lips you know how important it be the perfect red. I was also interested in Benifit newest products. Yes there real mascara and gimme brow. I'm a practicing Esthetician who has taken advance makeup classes but honestly makeup isn't my expertise so I decided to get some help from the "professionals" at sephora. I was sorely disappointed with my experience. In their defense it was a very busy Saturday however I really don't think that was the problem. I walked in excited to try out this new brow product and when I asked a associate she brushed me off saying "I don't know, if its new we probably don't have it" she didn't look to see if they had it, didn't know what product it was and clearly didn't care at all. That made me sad so I quickly decided she wasn't the person I would ask to help me pick my perfect red. I found another associate to ask for help. This girl was worst than the first one but I really wanted some new red and sephora has a amazing selection. She basically walked me over to some lipsticks and left me to fin for myself. I did very well picking a red that I love. I did not receive the help or feedback I was hoping for but I did leave with a great red. While standing in line I did see a few girls who seemed excited to be there and excited helping others find their perfect colors. Which is how it should be if YOU choose to work at a store like sephora. The poor service an attitude i encountered will keep me from return to this store. Macy's carries Benifit and almost always gets new products first and I feel like you can get more individual customer service at the department store counters. Visited this Sephora this past holiday weekend, and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied with the service. This store is pretty big, and on weekends, it can get quite busy, so I was pretty impressed with the patient way in which I was treated by Jovan! He's super helpful, an expert at what he does, and of course, he's so nice too! I needed help picking out an appropriate foundation for my skin, since I've mainly been a BB cream girl in the past, but now that I'm "older" I felt the need to have a good, high-end foundation for those nights out or special events. Jovan first removed my makeup before he did a Color IQ session with me to find my skin's color and tone. Then we talked about what I was looking for before we found a few foundations that seemed to be a good match for my skin and lifestyle. Jovan was absolutely great at what he does, and he tested different swatches on my skin to find the appropriate color before he redid my makeup for me. He did a wonderful job, and even though I ended up not purchasing the foundation that day, Jovan still gave me a sample of the color to try for myself, and he even threw in a sample of a hydrating mask that he thought might be helpful for desert-dry skin! If you ever come to this Sephora, please look for Jovan because he's the best, and he'll take care of you like a true VIB! read more

I love Sephora like any other girl in the world BUT this Sephora isn't my favorite. It's always so over crowded. I've never been there when I could actually look around without feeling like I'm in someone's way. I say excuse me 10x and the line is 30 minutes long. Sometimes I just need one thing real quick and I will put it off because I know I'll be there for 45 minutes waiting in line and fighting a herd. I spend THOUSANDS via Sephora every year and actually live near the location at Beverly Center, however my boyfriend lives in Anaheim Hills, so this is the closest location which I frequent because I do love the convenience of a smaller mall... UNFORTUNATELY the staff here is NOT knowledgable and the stock of items pretty much sucks when compared to other Sephora locations. My advice: skip this place and spend the time at Nordstrom or go down to South Coast where the array of products and availability is MUCH BETTER! read more

I came in and new exactly what I wanted. The first girl I asked to help me seemed a bit "put off" that I was asking for help. ((It appeared the Kat Von D face contouring kit was sold out)). She (who's name escapes me, but was in all black, I dub the Voldemort) looked in the drawer underneath the display and said they were out of stock and offered no additional help, substitute or assistance. Ahh impertinence, so frustrating and ugly . Suddenly,....this angel appeared in a black and red uniform, looking fierce! Hair and makeup on point! Her name was "Arianna" and she was so helpful! She approached me and asked if I had been helped. Can I get an amen???. I explained my dilemma and that another employee had told me they were out of stock. Arianna asked if she offered to look in the back? Say what?? In a flash she disappeared and teleported back and said they were indeed out of stock BUT offered to order it in store and have it shipped to mi casa FREE OF SHIPPING COSTS! I was thrilled! I decided to go to sephora to see if they sold a specific brand and well worst mistake ever. Several employees and no one to offer assistance . I showed up with no makeup what so ever ( I look like a high schooler without makeup) and I honestly feel that is a big reason every single employee acted like I was invisible. I asked a lady for help and she was going to help me but then another customer came all dolled up and asked her a question so this employee decides to help this other lady and act like I never asked her anything! Extremely rude people and customer service isn't great. I didn't even receive a welcome which is no big deal but the fact that I already had a horrible experience there just made it worse. The customer service at BREA is the WORST! I went in on a Thursday and needed assistance in finding facial makeup. So they put me on a waiting list and said one person was ahead of me. I waited for over 20 mins and nothing so I asked again. So after 10 more minutes the girl came. She acted like she was bothered and was not helpful but rude. I love their products but this place is a absolute nightmare. It's hard to find anyone to properly assist you at this location. I agree with one of the previous reviews. They rush you out of here. This place gets super busy I dread coming here the aisles are super small and always contested people are constantly bumping into you when your trying to look at the products. wow, i didn't realize so many people have written yelp reviews for this sephora! or sephora in general! this review is to highlight my AWESOME!! makeup session experience with Alexis last Saturday. this was my very first time coming in to do any sort of makeup session with anyone so i was kinda nervous, but did trust that the experts at sephora know what they are doing (definitely more than i know about makeup for sure!). this was something i've always wanted to do & when i got an email for a free session (VIB member email), i thought i'd try it out since i was attending my company party that evening. Alexis is so friendly & great with answering any questions i had. i sat on the chair not knowing exactly what i want, but eventually decided on the smokey eye look since i've always wanted to learn how to do that. She used a lot of great products that are perfect for my face shape & complexion. i ended up purchasing most of the products/tools at the end =) i am so happy i went in to do this because i was able to learn SO much about new techniques & try products that are perfect for me (color, feel, etc.). i was completely satisfied with my session (took about one hour) that i scheduled another for next weekend for a wedding i'm attending =) THANK YOU ALEXIS!!!! read more

This store is always an absolute MESS. The staff is always too busy to be helpful and the store is tiny and always poorly stocked. I would estimate the average wait time for checkout to be 15 minutes if you can manage to find what you're looking for among the zoo of tweens sampling a full face of makeup and middle aged Asian women who stand in the most inconvenient of places and won't move. This is not me being racist. I myself am Asian. I'm just telling it like it is. Go experience this phenomenon yourself if you don't believe me. But I digress. I have worked in retail and other costumer service for years now and I know the service I got was ridiculous. The lady that helped me was wearing a different outfit than most I believe her name tag said Big. When I asked for help she said okay and then walked away and never checked back In with me even after multiple times that I made eye contact. in this situation I would have said "give me one second I'll have someone help you" or something of that sort but nope, just kept walking straight by me. Then when I went to approach her once again leaving she was disciplining one of the employees 1) in the front of the store. Take her to the back if you don't want a guest to approach you 2) didn't acknowledge me what so ever. 3) when I tried to speak with her by making the first move I was ignored. I came to Sephora not really knowing what i was looking for. I was shopping around for Mens facial producs and natural make up i needed for a photoshoot. Let me start off by saying i was very timid and a bit embarrassed because i was shopping in female territory. I had no clue what i was looking for. To my luck, i was approached by an employee the name of Jordan. This guy was so funny, he instantly made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I over came the fear, haha. I explained my situation and he instantly new what would work best for me. He applied a primer to help control the oil on my face, followed by a light foundation. He also recommended exfoliating facial products ive never even heard of. I left spending a good $100 and as many samples as i needed...that was my favorite part. :) I Love Free, Haha. The employees at this Sephora are really nice and are very helpful. I got a good shade match here. The only problem with them is that they are usually very busy so they are stretched thin and it can be hard to get their attention. The other thing I don't like about this location is that the displays are always kind of trashed and they are often sold out of the items I came in for. read more

This store definitely lacks in the customer service department. At other stores when I walk in, I'm always greeted and approached with help but not with this one! I was in the store for 15 minutes before someone finally approached me and asked if I needed help. Her name was Julie and she is the only reason I'm giving this more stars than it actually deserves because she was so helpful and helped me find the right foundation for my skin and gave me samples! Compared to her and the other workers, there was definitely a huge difference in customer service! Always going to look for her whenever I come. Also, I went to Sephora today to return something, I needed my card to return but I didn't have it, so I believe the manager came and asked me with so much attitude, "Well where's your card?" Well excuse me lady!! Obviously I don't have it with me, no need for major attitude and this was not the first time I've noticed her attitude. I never go into Sephora to buy products anymore I usually order on line because to me they are like Victoria Secret if you don't look a certain way or don't buy a lot they snub you. So I went in with my 12 year old daughter. I didn't have any makeup on and just in Jean shorts and a tshirt. An older woman approached me and asked if I needed help. I thought yessss she will be better etc. As soon as I said I was looking at the Beauty Blender foundation she shutdown. I could tell she wanted to say something but she just went and got a color match specialist for me. I just never feel like they are there to actually help everyone. Whenever I go in there I want them to help me. The reason I'm there is for someone to steer me in the right direction of products that would be good for me. If I pick something and it's not going to work for my skin then it's up to them to say oh this particular foundation will make your skin look dull or it will settle in your fine lines etc. Not just be a robot and say oh ok here it is. Or become irritated because I would rather get a sample of a foundation before buying the entire bottle. read more

I went to Seohora to pick up some make up... But just before... I had my eyebrows threaded. My eyebrows were super thin... And I needed to get an eyebrow pencil to fix the way my eyebrows looked... But I had NO CLUE what I was looking for... Or even how to fix the look of my eyebrows!!! Jovon... Noticed me searching the products, and came to offer help.
