I had some time to kill before checking into my hotel, so I wandered into the mall and spotted Sephora which of course, I had to pop into. I was on the hunt for the Huda Beauty powder and was happy to see they had it in stock. The only issue? I wasn't totally sure which shade would match my skin tone. The beauty advisors were incredibly helpful, one of them even mentioned she loved the same product, and another took the time to help me find the perfect shade. That kind of hands-on help makes such a difference. I was also looking for a specific travel-size perfume spray, and they actually went in the back to check inventory and other stores to really track it down for me. Unfortunately, they didn't have it, but I found something really similar that worked just as well. They also ran out of one of my favorite glosses, but I spotted the last one near the register (small wins!). To help with the inconvenience of not having the spray I originally wanted, they offered me another sample size, which I really appreciated. The store itself was clean, organized, and well-staffed plenty of support without feeling overwhelmed. Honestly, the team here was friendlier than my hometown location (Mayfair Mall). I had a good experience here talking to a beauty consultant about different lash products. She was friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. She gave me a couple Sephora-brand recs but told me that I could also just get some packs on Amazon along with the glue and they would work just as well, last just as long. I appreciate the candor and would definitely return for more advice on other products. This location is pretty busy inside the mall, but there's a wide selection of pretty much everything and plenty of floor associates available to help with questions. I really enjoy stopping in here whether it's for something I need or just to browse. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. They ask if you need help and have always been knowledgeable and helpful, and if not I can keep looking and not feel overwhelmed or pressured. Went to pick up a few things during lunch today. I like how the store is full of everything on your wish list. I was greeted as I entered then a young lady came along to see if I needed help as my hands were filling up. They don't bombard you but allow you to shop comfortably. I was able to get body crème, lip gloss and concealer and when I checked out I was given 2 free gifts. I appreciate the friendly customer service. They're a little pricey but beauty costs. read more

This Sephora treats everyone like a criminal....or a celebrity? From the moment you walk in, all eyes are on you with fake compliments and the up down looks. Employees constantly following you and asking you if you need help, it's so uncomfortable shopping here. The line to buy is insanely long even though they have about 20 employees, only 1 is manning the register and the other 19 are patrolling the floor. Cashiers are so rude and in a hurry, the customer service aspect is gone. I tried to shop here since Sephora.com is a nightmare and have multiple items missing or stolen when returned to the warehouse, have to wait 2 weeks to file a claim. Disaster there too. Now after today I'm just done shopping here at all. It's such an unwelcoming vibe and the fun of shopping in store and trying new products is gone. Rogue member no more. read more

This review is for the makeup service. I am from out of town and needed to have makeup done for my brother's wedding. I made the appointment online a few weeks earlier and was all set. When I showed up for my appointment I was greeted by Nila. She asked what I was looking for and got to work. She did a phenomenal job and I've never felt more beautiful. I also have to add, my sister joined me hoping for a last minute appointment and the staff shifted things around to make it work. I went in today to buy the Sephora brand eye makeup remover which I discovered had been discontinued. My eyes are very sensitive and so I asked for a sample of the new version just to make sure it didn't burn my eyes before purchasing. I'm a regular customer and have always loved the Sephora brand products and used this product for years. The "woman" that assisted me told me I could just purchase a $10 smaller version. I asked if "she" could give me a sample that would allow me to use it once which would have been a tiny amount. "She" rolled "her" eyes, and when "she" was preparing the sample I literally heard "her" tell a colleague "she" was going to "accidentally" leave the sample container open in the bag (so it would spill & make it useless) and they both started laughing. Being a Sunday, it was loud in there so I assume "she" thought I couldn't hear "her". I almost said something at the moment but I felt ridiculed & embarrassed so I just thanked "her" and left. Sure enough the small container was just spilled in the bag and useless. Such a small thing to leave a review on, I know. Forget actually getting to try or test something out before you purchase. It's disgusting what those kids do in there to the testers. Had a rockin experience! Let's start here, I planned out my make up beauty day a month in advance. Yes this store is crazy busy, so plan wisely for appointments. I had the sweetest make up artist named Naomi. She asked me what I wanted, and delivered more than I expected. I wanted glam, glam , and more glam. Yes it can be overwhelming with so many products, but she made it easy. I will say some people don't know their space so I noticed that while some artists were busy making their customers glammed up, they were being asked questions by other customers. The artists were still nice, but here are plenty of sephora employees to go get help from. Just a tad annoying l;) Naomi was uber knowledgeable and when she didn't know something specific like the chemistry of the product I was going to buy for my face, she said actually their rep is here let me grab her for u. I loved that. My questions were beyond the typical will this work. Attention to detail is key. I never get overwhelmed in here because I do research ahead of time and lean on them for further recommendation I absolutely loved what Naomi did, and I give her mad props!! read more

Worst customer service by far! You'd think they were working for free. NOT one person smiled. Upon waking in we were greeted by a guy in purple hair, he also helped pick out a product, that was it. The service was TERRIBLE! There was a blonde in the store who works there, short, blue eyes, I didn't catch her name but she was condescending. Another lady with short hair which appeared to be the store manager who did nothing but stand there. You'd think she was a hired mannequin!! Honestly, this Sephora isn't great. First of all, it's not updated at all. It's the older dark walled Sephora with very little lighting so you can't see the colors well on different skin tones. Every time I get matched there, I come and realize it's too dark on me. The store itself lacks products and full ranges of existing lines. Their skincare line is very limited and they do not carry Charlotte Tilbury or Estee Lauder which are all online and at other stores. The staff are very nice but not well versed at all. 3rd times a Charm? Not so much for this store and I'll explain in full reason and detail why this store has 2stars for this review. As with any store location I visit everyone starts with 5stars! Why because I walk in with high expectations, first experience, nothing holding my review back except whatever happens after I check out. But I never had the opportunity to check out at this store, so a star was deducted based on entry and exiting with no assistance and customer service 3 times. Well for Sephora in South Park mall nothing right has happened. After visiting this store 3times {once a month since to be exact} after receiving a gift card for my birthday back in August, I've decided that this is the right time to review. Each time that I have come into this store it has been 1. Busy, 2. Medium, 3. Slow. Yesterday at 3:45p {Black Friday} the traffic in the store was medium. I walked in the store alone, and there were not 1, not 2 but 3 employees standing at the front of the store. 2 were cleaning the entrance display case {a guy and a girl} and the other was off to the side starring out the door with a clipboard in his hand. I immediately thought to myself "here we go again in Sephora and they do not know how to greet their customers". So I continued to look at the display case that was being cleaned by 2 of the employees. In hopes one would say "Good Afternoon Ma'am" "What are you looking for today" "Is there anything I can help you find" but my wish or hope for the 3rd time in this store did not come true. And what's funny is there were 1, 2, 3 employees standing right there. And what's even worse they each looked directly at me. So as I made my way around the display area that held all of their gift set, and travel size items, I bypassed the clipboard guy. And my thoughts were to go to the back of the store, then I said, no I'm just going to leave because this is awful. 3rd time and the same service. But then I did something I should have done on day one. I asked the clip board guy, "do you all greet your customers?" He looked at he with a blank stare at first then the girl looked at me, and walked away, then the guy looked at me and walked away. The clip board guy says " Oh! yes! yes! I'm sorry I was so spaced out!" My thoughts were, "spaced out? You have thousands of guest walking in and out of your store and you're spacing out? Do you space out while there stealing also?" Then I said, "that unfortunate but I've been walking right here for about 4minutes now and not only you but your other two employees were here also. He apologized once more as he noticed I was heading out the door. Then he asked me the most RANDOM and WEIRD question that you do not ask your customer who's experienced bad customer service 3xs within 4minutes and 3xs within 3months. He asked, "do you have Invisalign?" As the look on your face you probably have right now I had the exact same one. "HUH?!? Invisalign? Yes I do but why?" He said because he just go His and wanted to know if mine bothered me. Is this a joke? I just experienced HORRIFIC customer service from you all 3xs in the last 3months and your first question to me is if I have Invisalign? Sephora you have GOT to be kidding me? No, "how can I help you today", "what are you looking for", "I'm sorry we did not notice your entry but allow us to make that better going forward" Nope, Nope, Nope. Non of that from the store in the most expensive malls in North Carolina. I doubt if I ever go back and I doubt that I'll use the gift card. If I wanted 3 months to use it based on my store level experienced, waiting obviously doesn't bother me. It's the horrible customer service. read more

Ask for Autumn! She's incredibly talented and does a good job of feeling out what her client wants. She'll make you feel very comfortable too. She's a true artist. I'm going to start this off with something nice because the rest of the review won't be. I like Sephora and I usually prefer it to browse the cologne selection as well as lip balms as my lips tend to dry out and crack horribly. Also it can be a pleasant experience sometimes. Unfortunately I had the worst possible customer service at this location. I hated the guy who I asked for help and wish he'd just go jump off a cliff by the time I left the store. He was standing around chatting nonchalantly with one of his friends who was busy stocking their lipstick until I asked for help. I can forgive that, it's a slow Tuesday and guys generally don't head into Sephora asking for help. Our conversation went like this: me: Do you guys carry any chapstick for guys? him: Do you mean like the chapstick brand or do you want some lip balm? me: Well lip balm I guess. I went in today with the purpose of buying my 2 favorite fragrances - Chanel Eau Tender and Chloe Rosè. As usual, my preferred purchase was in stock and available for my selection based on size of bottle and price. Now here's the issue - the girl at the service counter and her attitude almost made me leave my merchandise on the counter with her before even completing my purchase. If I didn't know better, I would have thought she woke up just to make everyone else miserable, since misery loves company. She behaved as if I was a nuisance and hurried me a long. She misspoke several times because of her efforts of rushing me out of the store. I made my purchase and immediately looked at her to give her a dissatisfied look. She ignored my clues and her opportunity to address my concerns and carried on with her day. Her rude, nice-nasty, unprofessional, service impacting, and brand damaging attitude has left me with nothing more than a less desirable experience. I used to be big into Mac cosmetics and other places but since my first visit to sephora I had the most wonderful experience and will be back. They have numerous amazing brands and the customer service there is amazing. I went in looking for my favorite mascara and started talking to one of the sales people Dale. She was so knowledgeable about all of their products and brands and when I told her about my mission to find a new bb cream she jumped on the opportunity to help me find a new great brand. She did a skin care test to see which color would look best with my (super white) complexion. After we narrowed it down to three she washed my face and began applying the next. She was so patient and helpful and I ended up finding the perfect foundation for my skin. Also as other reviews have stated sign up for their email club. As someone who can write off her makeup expenses on her taxes-- and horrifyingly spent 4 figures on makeup and skincare items a year early in my career (I've since drastically cut back) I feel qualified to review Sephora in it's fullest! Selection: Sephora's got almost all the major beauty brands you'd want (minus the ones exclusively contracted with department stores.) and all of them are available for testing. How often can you go into a department store and go around testing things without someone bothering you to buy it? Customer Service: When you DO need some help finding just the perfect shade of foundation, or just the right gift, there will be someone to assist. Most of the people who work here love makeup and beauty products too, so they'll have their own recommendations of what's good and are honest about what's not such a hot seller. (Example: I'm a MAC Cosmetics fan, and used to use their cleanse-off oil makeup remover. Instead I wanted to try another brand, something natural, and was directed toward the Boscia cooling oil cleanser, which I actually like better and now buy in multiple quantities.) Returns: I've never had a problem with a return, even if I can't find my receipt or if it's been awhile. There was once this Tocca perfume that made my skin itch. Even though I had used it, I brought it back and exchanged it for another fragrance. TIP: Sign up for their email list and get a Beauty Insider card. This will allow you to bank points-- but also get GENEROUS FREEBIES AND DEALS. During my birthday month, I always get a gift, like the Philosophy Cake Batter body wash for free (in a huge 8 ounce size I believe). A couple years ago it was a Sephora brand lip gloss set. In addition, you'll get periodic coupons like 10% or 15% off your purchase. TIP #2: I can actually buy many of the items at Sephora online at other beauty retailers like SkinStore.com or Beauty.com tax free, and with a heftier 20% discount almost daily. However, when there are cosmetics you just need to try in store, or fragrances that just need to be sniffed...go to Sephora and check it out in real life. It'll be worth the hassle of a mail-in return. (Hey, if you like it, you can always order another of the same product online at a lower price!) TIP #3: Sephora has killer sales every so often. I remember getting a Philosophy bath wash set for 50% off after the holidays, and a Bliss Spa body lotion set for about half price too. I feel lucky living so close by. I love getting make up application done for date nights. It also gives me a great opportunity to take advantage of the samples to find new products to improve my skincare routine. They have a generous return policy, so if something causes you to break out you can simply return it, no questions asked. The staff is wonderful. I try to go when it's less busy if I'm looking for a new foundation so that way the staff can really give me their full attention and I feel like I'm Not bumping arms with everyone in there. read more

I went to this store to grab some foundation for my mom. I bought the wrong shade, and had accidentally wasted about 50 bucks because of it. I go back to Sephora @ Southpark and I am told that I cannot return it at this store! What? So I'm told to go to Northlake to return it... I don't even live close to Northlake. Once there, I am told that of course I could return it there (Northlake is so much nicer) but that the return would take money away from their store(Northlake)? This really isn't fair and kind of greedy on the part of Southpark Sephora. I will be taking my business to Northlake, even though the trek might be long. read more

Sephora is like a girly girls dream! It's like you walk in and the there's music, beautiful smells and welcoming workers ready to assist you in all your buying needs. The make-up always draws me in...even though I usually opt for a pretty gloss and moisturizer. Not so fancy, huh? Anyhoo: I would say Sephora creates an environment that allows you to test out products in a nonthreatening (aka I need a commission environment) and ask questions, if you just aren't sure if a product will work for your hair/skin/etc. In addition, they have a great customer rewards program (Beauty Insider) that gives you free gifts once you reach a certain point level (which I think is more generous than ULTA) and they give you a gift every year on your birthday. PS: Don't be afraid to ask for a sample. It's probably worth it and you can come back to Sephora for the full size if you love it. PPS: My choices...Sephora has so many great items its hard to choose just one but one of my "must-haves" is the Sephora brand Coconut Body Wash. The store was clean and it was easy for me to spot the brand that I was looking for. The sales associate who helped me with the foundation match was very friendly and gave me a sample that was enough to last for three days. Although a bit smaller than the Sephora stores I usually go to, this one has been my favorite. Helpful and not bothersome staff, a not-too-loud noise level, and quite clean. I was on the hunt for a new lip stain and I had help (from Jimmy D and a lovely boy who worked there). After cycling through some coral shades, we decided on a radiant, not-so-glossy red. I'm a fan! This store I had the luck of navigating a bit better too, which made my trip a lot quicker than normal. So, yeah. Looking for makeup? New to the world of glitz, glam and deception? Start here!
