My experience here started off a little rocky. My friend and I arrived at 2:10 p.m. for our 2:30 p.m. couples massage. We entered through our hotel and sat in what we later found out was the yoga studio waiting area. We were clearly seen by two employees, but no one greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. Around 2:25 p.m., I finally asked about our appointment and discovered we had been waiting in the wrong place. I was surprised that no one thought to check on us. If the yoga studio was closed, it seemed unusual to have guests just sitting in the waiting area without anyone saying anything. Thankfully, Sydney quickly stepped in and completely turned the experience around. She was kind and incredibly helpful. The massage itself was fantastic and more than made up for the rough start. Sydney and Alesia were both attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, we left happy, and I would recommend them. If you book a massage, definitely ask for Sydney, Logan, or Alesia--they were absolutely amazing! read more

This review is for the studio! There is a separate entrance from the spa with its own desk. The receptionist at the desk was so kind and helpful. I couldn't figure out how to sign up for yoga online beforehand, but she was able to help me in person! I took the baby & me yoga with Sarah, it was SO fun and she was great!!! Baby had their own blanket and she included stretches that include lifting/holding baby. If baby was crying, she held him/her so we could continue. It was an amazing workout and I felt so refreshed afterwards! The studio is lowly lit, good temperature and good vibes. Bring your own mat but they provide any needed additional materials. I love that they have a large changing table in the bathroom too. Will be back! read more

My hubby was kind enough to book me a service for my birthday here. What dropped from 5 stars to 4? The receptionist at the front desk when I arrived. There was no warm greeting, she did not want to engage in conversation with me, and almost tried to rebuttle me even being there when she could not find my appointment at 1st. One may not care about the front desk when going to a spa, but this is where the tone is set. As an Esthetician and fellow spa owner, this was not acceptable. And no, I did not let the staff know about me being in the industry so there would be no intimidation. I was introduced to my therapist. Priscilla was performed my treatment. She explained everything, allowed me to ask questions and excuted my treatments in a solid manner. Really turned my experience around for the better. She was great!!! VALORIE LOWE IS A MIRACLE WORKER! It is so hard these days to get connected with a true therapeutic therapist who is very knowledgeable of bodywork, anatomy and pain relief techniques but boy did I ever hit the JACKPOT with Valorie! I do not get massage for relaxation. I NEED massage therapy for chronic pain relief from years of poor posture, 27 years in airports, hotel beds and traveling, and 12+ hour days hunched over in front of a laptop. All of this led to severe pain in my shoulder and neck. Dozens of therapists have tried over the years and some have been somewhat successful but after just ONE visit with Valorie, I have experienced significant improvement and LASTING pain relief! Seven days later, I'm still in shock that a single 90 minute session has provided so much benefit! Needless to say, Valorie is now my full time therapist and she should be yours as well. Valorie contacted me the night after my session to check on me and what follows is my response to her with how I was feeling immediately after the session: "My posture is noticeably better just on its own now, which has never been the case. I have so much more flexibility in my chest and upper back. My shoulder joint itself is a bit painful but that is because I have so much more flexibility in it now. It is not restricted from movement like it was before. All of this after just one session with you! You totally are amazing!! I will be writing reviews for you and handing out your business cards! One week later: I am still noticing that the muscles and connective tissues in my shoulder are so much more loose and motile than before. The massage itself was wonderful . My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially as it was our first experience. However, when it was time to leave, the receptionist was on the phone. I had called a week prior to pay in advance so we wouldn't have to worry about settling the bill after our session. As we were walking out, she ran after us and asked us to pay. I informed her that payment had already been made, and after checking the system, she giggled and said the card was just on file, then told us we were all set. I found that interaction quite disappointing. It was embarrassing, as it gave the impression we were attempting to leave without paying--especially considering the dynamics of the neighborhood. A quick look at the system beforehand could have prevented that uncomfortable moment. That said, the massage therapists themselves were excellent, and we appreciated their skill. read more

Hands down (pun intended), the best massage I've had in my life, even when compared to many 5-star spa resorts across the US I've had the pleasure to visit. I selected a 90-minute massage with Alex, and I've already booked my next one. It was so great that I booked a Thai foot massage with him just a few days later. This service also did not disappoint. The spa environment is extraordinarily clean, bright, and relaxing. The artwork is gorgeous and perfectly placed to create a space that you won't want to leave. There are options to sit in a more social space where talking is allowed or a cozy lounge with soft, dim lighting where silence is required. I used both. I traveled to Charlotte for a quick turn around trip to surprise my father. I called SEVERAL day spas about a week before my. Due to the pandemic we were told most places were booked 6-8 weeks in advance... my aunt and I were going to have a spa day to catch up as we live on different coast. Palestra was our last shot and we felt defeated. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the person who answered the phone noted they would be able to accommodate us! Unfortunately, I experienced a travel nightmare and was delayed. I was incredibly disappointed to miss my spa day with my aunt. As I awaited my delayed flight my aunt called Palestra about 40 minutes before our appointments and the owner text messaged her immediately, she was in a meeting at the time. My aunt appreciated her prompt reply even though she was preoccupied. My aunt had a facial and a massage and came out of the experiencing RAVING! Not only did she feel relaxed and rejuvenated, she also raved about the owner who gave her her facial. Apparently they had amazing conversation and she was just a delight. I have to admit I was a bit jealous as I had to sleep in the airport and was grimy from traveling for hours. But my aunt rebooked my maasage for the next morning. As I arrived I was greeted by a front desk attendant and Angeline. Angeline ended up being my provider, and she was an incredibly sweet person. I also found out that she was who i was originally booked with. I appreciated this because I also felt awful that my trabel nightmare caused her to lose business and time. I noted that I am a ball of stress with major pain and knots everywhere. She asked me a few questions and I point out my trouble spots. I also noted that I feel like I need extremely deep pressure to get the knots out. As she began she was gentle but firm, and I have to be honest, I didn't think what she was doing would meet my needs... BUT color me surprised! Angeline is a God send and you can tell not only is she trained well, she knows exactly what she is doing! When she identified a knot or stiffness she was able to find meridian lines and ease the tension out. Again I am used to people digging their elbows deep into my knots and not relaxing in the moment. But her techniques had my tension melting away. After spending the night in a baggage claim area and being totally frustrated, this service was just what I needed. ANYTIME I go back to North Carolina, I hope to have enough time to visit this day spa and support Angeline and the owner. If I could fly to get a service by Angeline months I totally would but tickets from California to North Caeolina are a pretty penny. Give this place a shot! read more

She was a darling, we went over my skin concerns, my skin routine, and a regimen we can follow. She was extremely detailed about pre and post care. Paid 214 dollars to get a massage and facial. Facial was great. But massage was like a 7 year old took a hot rock off the ground and rubbed your feet with it. Also very loud. Someone had their child at the place all day. So I heard screaming through the walls and constant cell phones ringing over the loud music I guess it was on blue tooth or something. My massage therapist didn't even introduce himself. Nor did anyone else. They place in an uncomfortable group waiting room that is very small. With these plastic worn out chairs. It wasn't worth 200 dollars. The general facility is small and loud. Not really a spa more of like an overpriced nail salon def won't ever come back. Tl;dr: Listen, this was a experience, not a service. A wonderful experience! Its is my birthday tomorrow and I normally travel which is not an option right now so instead I decided to go all out, have a day at the spa and it did not disappoint. When planning this I called and got information on the services and then ended up talking with the owner, Lora, who helped me piece together a perfect day. Lora ended up doing both my body treatment and massage. I opted for the Hanakasumi body treatment. First you are exfoliated all over with both an enzyme exfoliant and then a mit! After you are cleansed and then liberally moisturized with a cherry blossom body butter. My skin seriously feels like silk! The process applied in the same fashion as a massage in that there is a sheet and only areas she was currently working on were exposed and the table is optionally heated to keep you nice and toasty. Afterwards we rolled right into massage, which just had me floating out of the room later. Lora asked questions so she could focus on areas that I had issues with rather than just doing a standard massage. So appreciated! After we finished I was given a robe and a spa top and was offered snacks and refreshments before starting my facial. Natia was my esthetician and although I had chosen the Energizing Facial she altered the facial a little for my specific skin needs. She answered my questions and even provided me with samples that may be helpful. There was ZERO pressure to buy anything which is so appreciated. Natia gave me a free short foot massage and also did my head massage (my fourth service) while my mask was doing its magic. It was a dry massage so my hair wasn't oily when we finished. Long story short, I reccomend and I'll be back for sure! If you are looking to do a spa day here are some tips: 1. Always schedule your facial last so you aren't laying on your beautiful newly treated skin 2. Schedule some time between a massage and facial to snack/use the bathroom 3. The services can be scheduled back to back if you call in and let them work the schedule instead of using the blocked times online. read more

I looked forward to my appointment that had been pre-booked over a month in advance. I arrived 15 minutes early being that it was my first appointment to complete and required paperwork. The blonde front desk representative stared at me like I was lost. So I said good morning and explained that I had a 9 and 10 appointment. She then looked even more confused and asked me when I booked. I said well over a momth ago via booksy. She then alerted me they dont not use booksy any more. So I explained I received my confirmations a while ago and would not have shown up today without being confirmed. She then proceeded to tell me they were booked for the day, did not have me scheduled, and asked If i wouod be interested in returning another day. Im not sure where or when it would be appropriate to casually invite me back after a business omits your confirmed appointment in a system transition. Customers take time to schedule around various work schedules and other appointments coaching and training of acceptance and correction or insensitive at minimal should be provided to any front desk employee to better handle these situations. It was too casual, matter of fact like, and overall rude. Once I said this is unacceptable, she called the owner, that did nothing to fix the issue. So I guess I can not expect much different from the front desk staff. I booked my mom an appointment here in dec 2021 and was new to the area looking for a new spa to frequent. But my mother, nor I, or any friend referrals will be sent here ever again. Only discussions on how horrible this experience that should have been relaxing was. Very disappointed, very unfortunate. The worst part is, my friend who booked the same day as me and scheduled an appointment the same day as me callee after my issue and confirmed her appointment was active. Lucky her. And yes i visualized her book on booksy because i had also referred her. So thats two referrals for them, and horrible service for me. Worst massage of my life! I would NOT recommend this place what so ever. I had higher expectations being that the new location is in South Park. My husband paid for us to have a 2 hour couples massage as an early Valentine's Day date. Upon entering, the receptionist looked at us dumbfounded, did not greet us and didn't even confirm who we were or the service we were there for. She simply starred at us and then grabbed 2 clip boards and escorted us to a quiet room to fill out paper (as this was our first visit). The quiet room was filled with 2 large sofas which were way too large for the room. My husband and I sat on one couch. Another couple was brought into the same room which made it awkward and cramped for both parties. The figure on the paper work to indicate areas of work was a woman. My husbands paperwork had the same figure. If this spa claims they are inclusive, the figure on the paperwork should have been generic and not clearly female. When my husband and I were escorted to the room, it was clear the room was way too small for 2 tables to be set up in the room. There was a shower in the room, which I am unsure what that is used for as it was not offered to us for use. The glass door of the shower kept getting in my masseuse's way. She continued to have to adjust it and hit it a few times trying to get around the table during my massage. There was a love seat in the room, a glass table that seemed unnecessary - as we put all of our belongings on the love seat and a large mirror which was propped against the wall and unusable unless you were maybe 3 foot tall. I understand that this was a new space but it appeared like furniture was out of place. My husband enjoyed his massage, felt fully relaxed and dozed off during his massage, with the exception of his foot being hit numerous times by my masseuse to get around his table which proves the room we were in was not big enough for 2 tables. I indicated to my masseuse that I wanted medium pressure and that I was there to have a relaxing massage. It was FAR FROM RELAXING! While I was on my back, without even asking permission, she got on top of the table straddled me on either side, lightly put her knees into my buttocks and then pushed her elbows up my back. Of all the years and massages received, I have NEVER ONCE had a therapist get on the table with me or get on top of me like this. She used her leg as a prop while partially sitting in the table to massage my arm and did this for both sides. I found this unprofessional and felt that a bolster should have been used as a prop, not a personal body part. While facing up, she again got on the table knelt on the table between my legs to massage the side of my hips. I felt this was unnecessary and an invasion of my body as I was already naked and vulnerable on the table. To straddle me and kneel between my legs was uncalled for and not a natural practice of massage. She was very rough with the movement of my legs and arms. I felt manhandled, even though when I booked the appointments I said I didn't want any therapists that was rough or manhandled people. She had no pace to the massage and I felt like she was rushing the entire time even though our time spot was for 2 hours. Half way through the appointment she turned the AC on in the room which made it very cool in the room for both my husband and I. I had to ask her to cover my hands and shoulders up with the blanket. The supposed "hot stones" are not stones and are basically hot hockey pucks, which she hit my collar bone with twice and used on areas which were simply skin and bones, not muscle. I wondered if my masseuse was truly certified. As she sometimes just poked or pushed my muscle and constantly shook my body back and forth which made it impossible for me to relax or even dose off. I felt like she was trying to roll me off the table! I have a high tolerance but within the first hour, I wanted to tell my masseuse to stop and that I was done. However, I didn't want to ruin my husbands experience and tolerated it as best as possible. Upon our appointment completion, My husband found my masseuse's cellphone, vape pen and button up shirt she was wearing previously thrown on top of our stuff on the love seat. I felt it was inappropriate that her items be thrown on top of our items and that she did not remove her items upon exiting the room. My masseuse used so much oil it looked like my hair hadn't been washed in a month and my skin was sticky. We were never offered damp towels to use to wipe off any remaining oil that we may want to remove before dressing. I had to open the door and ask for this as we had dinner reservations directly after our massages. I am mortified I allowed my husband to pay the $500+ (with tip) for this experience for us. This is not a BOUTIQUE. I would have rather booked at Hand & Stone or Massage Envy which are more spa like than this place. read more
