Tried for first time and although I bought over $500 in products I will NOT return. When I walked in a very RUDE person said in nasty tone " do you need help?". I told her I had an appointment. Lesley was great but the staff at the front desk was deplorable. I have going here for 2 years now because of Elizabeth Q. I followed her from Carmen! Carmen! In Belk inside South Park Mall! Elizabeth handles my body and eyebrows waxing. She also perform miracles on my face. Every 3 weeks I will go in to get my brows and body wax. She uses hard wax which I like. Check over my face and recommend anything I need before next visit. Bam, we're done! Woo's also offer a couple prestige beauty lines. From Nars, Bobbi Brown and a couple others that I don't remember. A varies of hair products to skincare lines. That's what I love about this place. Yes I get points at Sephora. But when I need skincare products. I would go to Elizabeth. She access my face. Give me a facial if need and can recommend what I need either for my concern(s) or base on my budget.. One time she recommend that I start taking some evening primrose vitamins that I can get at Whole Food due to the breakout around my Tzone. Sephora staffs don't do that! Elizabeth and the staffs at Woo's give it a personal experience. You're not just a no#. They knowledgeable. And they take the time to take care of you. At least that's how I feel! read more

Went in for a facial and (1st time) dermaplane and Mary Catherine could not have been more amazing. I'm very low key with my skin regimen and she made me feel completely fine about that. It was a super relaxing appointment despite all of my COVID concerns. I felt 100% at ease and relaxed and safe. I'm hooked. She really did an amazing job. They have an amazing COVID protocol in place and I really appreciated the extra care that the manager (Ann) took to ensure that everyone who was coming in was good to go. I absolutely love coming here for my eyebrows. MK is a superstar. She is super down to earth, kind hearted, soft spoken and just overall lovely. I am so grateful for MK shaping my brows and taking care of me! Their selection of prestige cosmetics and small gifts is actually pretty wonderful. For me, however, I've taken my makeup into a bit of a turn and whenever I finish a product, I've been "swapping" it for the cleaner/greener/natural alternative. With that said, because they carry the big lines that aren't the natural thing -- think Dior, Laura Mercier, etc. (with all respect, I wore only Chanel mascara for like, 10 years...) I've only ever purchased some dry shampoo here, although I feel like they did recently add RMS beauty as a line which is pretty "clean." Came here last weekend to have my makeup done before a holiday party. The gal that did my make up did a good job, was fast and friendly. The only down sides were: I wish they served champagne and $25 for lashes? Really? Other than that, had a pleasant experience and received tons of compliments all night on my make up. read more

I have sporadically tried Woo through out the years because of its convenience to my house and work. Additionally, I am passionate about Charlotte and want to support a local owner. Without exception there is one employee who consistently doesn't understand how to behave in a customer service role. She is rude, dismissive and incredibly unhelpful. My last attempt to support Woo and buy some concealer, was last week and once again I left the store never wanting to patronize it again. read more

I stumbled upon this place while picking up some olive oil and vinegar from New World Olive Oil. I loved it! They were super friendly and helpful and they carry unique items but also some of your Sephora, ulta, department store favorites. They have services for skincare, tons of makeup options (higher end/quality), jewelry, nail polish, etc. I was looking to purchase "Butter" Nail Polish but one of the employees directed me to Smith and Cult. She said they are the first ones to carry this brand in Charlotte. They had some great color options and I ended up seeing that brand highlighted in a magazine a few days later. I like that they stay up on recent trends, carry top quality and that it isn't a huge store like Sephora where it is easy to get overwhelmed (at least for me). Great location right on Selwyn so you can stop in get a facial, buy some products, head next door to BLO and get a blowout, stop in at Doll and pick up an outfit for the night, get a quick snack at Little Spoon, and then a bag of candy at CandyGirl Confections. The girls in here are great! They are sooo helpful and treat you so well! They sell really good products, have awesome gifts and even offer spa services (haven't tried any yet)! I ran in to pick up some valentines for my mom and they wrapped them so cute. Last week I was in for makeup to get ready for a work trip and she fully explained everything and helped me get the right stuff for the natural look I was aiming for! I love this place. Save yourself a trip to the mall and shop local. A few favorites: lafco candles (yum) laura Mercier Amber vanilla soufflé body creme, skinceuticals ce ferulic (worth every penny) , sugar lip balm(the best) heals your chapped lips right up, Bobbi brown pale pink blush, bumble and bumble pret a powder (gives a little ummf in the roots and hides the oil inbetween washes ) the list continues, just go see for yourself. A little over a year ago I struggled with hormonal acne. I booked an appointment with Leah and started my journey to glowing, acne-free skin. I hate to hear the other user had a bad experience at Woo. I've been there a few times and have always had a positive experience. The staff if helpful and knowledgeable about anything skincare or makeup. Woo also comes with a much better experience that the big box makeup stores. One of which is NATURAL LIGHT. The other is personalize attention from makeup artists that are up to date on the style and of the "less is more mentality". The ladies are well known from their prior jobs and bring with them a ton of experience. The esthetician they hired is awesome as well and all the reviews above equally apply to her as well!! I've had wonderful experiences at Woo. The staff is extremely talented, knowledgable and professional. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing and it is so much more convenient than going into the mall for make-up or spa for facials! Also, Woo offers a variety of excellent products and its a one stop shop for a number of great items beyond make-up (from stocking stuffers for my 3 year old, gifts for teachers and friends to hand cream and conditioner for my husband)! Great addition to Charlotte retail. This store fills a hole in our market with great skincare advice, hard-to-find skincare brands (great Natura Bisse and Skinceuticals selections), and several makeup lines. Lauren is fantastic - got me in and out in no time with just what I needed (ok, perhaps a bit more but that was my fault). Highly recommended. Yelp, it's Woo Skincare, not Woo's. I love Woo! I visit Woo each time I come to Charlotte and adore their carefully curated selection of retail items. I have never had services here, so I can't comment on those; however, it is hard to beat the selection of brands at Woo or the very knowledgeable staff. On my latest visit, I picked up the new Smith & Cult glosses, as well as some great hair accessories. I particularly appreciate the fact that I felt welcome to browse, and there was no pressure to purchase. The staff there were more than willing to answer questions or assist if needed, but were unobtrusive when I was focused on browsing. Excellent customer service. I walked in looking for eyeshadow and a new skincare régime. Unfortunately, after 20 minutes of standing in the store, never being greeted, acknowledged or smiled at, I left. Two women who came in after I did were helped while I stood there next to one of the makeup counters. It was not busy, otherwise I would have been very understanding. Worst place I have ever been to for a wax. I told her not to make my eye brows too thin and now they are extremely thin. She had to wax my lip over five times. When I got home to look in the mirror I found hairs everywhere. Also she stood by the checkout so I would tip. Modern Salon & Spa does a fabulous job and I will never go to Woo skincare again for a wax. Terrible job. read more
